Joel is sad but it is also prophetic that God is gonna pour out his spirit on all FLESH. JOEL is describing the great abomination of desolation. That y jesus said the, nite was coming when when no man can work,My God my my GOD Y HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME.The new wine has been cut off the new covenant. Jesus said the days are coming when you will desire to see 1 of the days of the son of man but you will not see them. Churches on every corner but no Jesus. How do the priest n ministers do mourn simply b/c of this time the great abomination of desolation is upon us.But Jude said earnestly content for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. In the mists of all this th Women will give birth.

Disobedience is a sin. So, why do we expect to live in sin and receive a blessing from God, If God hate sin? We are punished by parents, and the laws of the nation, when we commit sin and break the laws, so why should God not punish us when we break his laws and sin. God is love and hate sin, so why do we sin and expect God to keep loving us when we treat God like we hate Him. Sin is our enemy.

Robin: I Told Everyone that Knows me and Others what Christ Has Done in My Life and How to be Saved. Before, I Never Talked Much. Now I'm Talking to Everyone. Most Would Say Something Happened, He's Talking. But I Held on to Smoking. 1 Day The Choice was Smoke or Tell The Pastor, 1 was Saved. As I Reached for The Phone The Lord Said: You Will Never Smoke Again. My Smoking Was Going! Instantly!
  • Robin on Joel 1 - 5 years ago
Thank you for your word, Lord. I ask you to intercede for me for my smoking. I do not want to quit because I am working to earn salvation, but I want to quit to be more pleasing to your temple. I need the mental stamina to endure the addiction. I know it is trivial compared to your suffering saints my Lord. I am so ashamed. Please help me Holy Spirit. Thank you, I love you with all my heart Lord.

    The devastation of the land and people above is a circumstance most people only hear or read about; so in 2018 we remain DRUNK on ..., ..., ..., and not realizing that the above is about to happen to us, but by the time most realize it (the above) it no stopping because last week was 9-months and the law shall not change; we sowed the seed NOW the fruit / the above shall come any minute;

Yet even now, even in the midst of the trumpet blasts of the alarm of war in the heavens; even while the bowls of punishments and destruction of God's wrath being poured out; if there's even a moment until they take the mark of the beast; the place and duty of the Elect is to sound the alarm and call the congregation together, to fast and pray and seek the LORD. The armies of the enemy are coming!

We are absolutely in a world just exactly as the Prophet Joel wrote about. On account of the centuries and generations of the Nations being held under the tyranny of the devil's wicked perversions, slanders and lies against God and against His Anointed; like the house of a drunkard, and whose ancestors and children have all been likewise devoured and desolated by debauchery; the end is upon us.
  • A disciple on Joel 1 - 6 years ago
The Apostles confirmed that these are the last days, because the Son of God has come in the flesh to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. The natural man's understanding is very much limited to his own experience and the things he can gather through his senses; and processing them within these bounds he cannot understand that time is subject to eternity, and does in no wise hinder the truth.

"That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten." So many silly shallow commentators only look at the parable as if it were about a famine of bread; and miss altogether the point that selfish lives of sin and neglect have robbed us of the knowledge of God!

"..for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God." As it was in the days of Noah before the cataclysm, the world just went on as if it would continue indefinitely. So the faithful eventually fell away: first into sloth and ignorance and lastly all the way back to the world and ungodliness: all for being ashamed before men and fear of persecution. Luke 21:12

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel The Apostles thought they were on the last days. Joel 1:15 15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. The Apostle knew the day of the Lord was near. They were living it , but something stops all that, in chapter 7, the stoning of Stephen. Jews rejected Christ.

Kenn, you are correct that time is very short for America. Kenn, please study Psalms chapter 51 with all your heart, mind and soul daily. Confess your sins to the LORD and ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Ask the LORD to increase your faith and to stablish your heart and mind by His infinite power. Pray without ceasing and stay in His Word. I will pray for you and always remember the LORD JESUS is absolutely faithful! God bless you! 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Yah'l pronounced Yah-yeel uses agricultural metaphors to describe spiritual desolation felt in the land of Yizroyl in line with other prophets also bewraying the nation's sins. Yah'l calls upon the nation and "ministries" to repent. Today if only modern day preachers had such backbone. The day of Yahweh is described as a day of DESTRUCTION from the Almighty. The solution then and now, ministers should call people to fasting and prayer meetings, solemn assemblies, not prayer meetings where a bunch of "sanctified saints" sit around gossiping. as I have witnessed. The solutions proposed by inspired men of Yah of old are not "done away in Christ", as the deceived church world proposes simply because they are found in the Old Testament so-called . Messiah came to reform the heart of man by his substitutionary death, and not to implement a SUBSTITUTE religion adverse to Tanach and Tanach teachings. See Hebrews, Chapters one to the end of the book. As always, it is truth verses teachings of man made traditions. Little has changed in man since these ancient words were penned with the exception that now that Messiah has come, we have no excuse for our sins, only his blood covering. Rom 2:1-29, John 9:41

It is God's Word coming to pass. The world the lost being cut off from their needs. Soon to be their last chance to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and come into the fold. I fear it is God's last attempt at saving the world the unsaved from satan's reign.

Is Joel giving us Harbingers or warnings of things to come? Disaster after Disaster is hitting America, could these be warnings from our God? Are we seeing emotional, financial, Spiritual and natural warnings? I think so.

The need to repentance is so important in our Christian life and we can do this effectively by adding fasting and cry unto God, our Saviour and Lord who is able to spare or deliver us from desolation. We need not put our confidence in material things that can be devoured or destroyed, but in God who is able to make grace abound. Praise God . Amen.

I AGREE WITH ONE OF COMMENTS A LOT OF THE CHURCHS HAVE BECOME SPIRITUAL DEAD AND I BELEIVE THAT A LOT OF CHRISTIANS HAVE BECOME BLINDED BY MATERIAL THINGS THEY HAVE BECOME LOVERS OF PLEASURE MORE THAN LOVERS OF GOD THAT IS BIBLE
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Matthew 6 - 10 years ago
Part 1 of 2: Hello Joni G.: There are four types of fasting. One is an assembly called fast. This is where the leader of the church calls for a fast. Joel 1: 14 is an example of this. There is a group fast. This is where a small gathering may come together and fast and pray for various things. Paul and Barnabas give an example Acts 14: 23. Then you have the fast that a wife and husband consent to for either the both of them or one or the other. In other words, you have to get permission to go on a fast from your spouse so that Satan does not tempt you, 1 Corinthians 7: 5. Then there is the private fast. This is where a lot of people fall short. They tell everybody they are fasting. They show a sad continence. They already have their reward. Jesus Christ gave instructions on how to fast, Matthew 6: 16 thru 18.

As Christians we aught to be vigilant is not time now to be spiritual dead neither spiritually blind because so much is happening in the church and in the world at large. They are looking for help from the church but the church is failing miserably.

It is a wise person who believes and No God is in Charge nothing can be done unless He allows it no matter what we can think we are all that but if God do not breath life in our body we would be dead he breath on the save and unsaved thats how loving and kind and forgiving he is he is not like some of us who cannot forgive anyone and cannot even take the responsibility for the wrong we do to other we shall reap what we sowed out amen
  • Chigozirim on Joel 1:14 - 10 years ago
Confession , repentance and prayers is what makes a fast acceptable before God. Therefore any solemn assembly without genuine repentance and confession from the heart is a wasted time and energy. As good as fasting, but if it is not done properly is mere starvation.
