    Discernment: Red flag #2 (cont).

Going back to Joel 2:30-31 we see a verse utilized by Dominionists and other extreme Pentacostals which taken in context are likely to be a description of the 2 Prophets in the last days who have a sort of "Prophetic contest" with the rest of the world. They end up being martyred by the Beast coming out of the sea (Antichrist) before being Resurrected. Again; if there is no warning about false Messiahs doing miracles ( Matt. 24:24) then we are left assuming that everything is genuine that is "miraculous" without examining to see if it is men's imaginations; God or a demon causing these things or apparent things to occur.

Of course if we do the preverbal "throwing out the baby with the bathwater" and are total cessationists we are also going beyond scripture and are in danger at worst of blaspheming God when a true miracle occurs; or at worst being overly discouraging.

Red flag #3: Tying into the first two "red flags" there are those who go beyond what we know presently in relation to a prophetic event and make all sorts of statements on this or that event being a sign; and taken to an extreme stating that it proves such and such an event during the Tribulation is occurring. We must keep in mind that Christ personally opens all the seals; and in fact no man is worthy to do so beforehand. The man of sin surely would have come out by now if the restrainer had been removed. In fact we probably all would have been dead by now.

Red flag #4: Finally; a reminder once again not to be sidetracked by political; economic and other pressing issues beyond what we are called to be. We must be aware of the order of authority; namely the Godhead; Satan and his minions with their own ranks; then men in leadership followed by the rest of us "peons". We can look at the world in a way that we would see a skin lesion and not realize that the whole body is sick (such as seen in Isaiah 1:6). A mighty fortress is our God says it well

Part 3: Context in cross references

The danger of Dominionists is that they think that they can rule and reign on the earth; making the world "ready" for Christ's appearance by somehow taking over a world that God Himself has allowed Satan to usurp to ultimately accomplish His purposes.

They enjoy taking verses such as Joel 2:30-31 and verses in Revelation on a countless multitude chapter 7 verse 9 and think that despite verses to the contrary on many falling away from the faith in the last days that any "revival" must be from God. Satan Himself according to the book of Jude must be properly addressed; even Michael had to show deference to the Lord when he rebuked him ( Jude 1:9). The obvious conclusion to this situation is that we should never apply a meaning to a specific passage that clearly contradicts the rest of scripture as a whole. The same problem exists for Preterists who use verses that seem to clearly indicate the Transfiguration ( Matthew 17) and somehow seem to think it can be proven that Christ physically returned in AD 70. Doctrinally speaking as I have alluded to in my earlier statements; if we for instance dogmatically state that God is finished with the nation of Israel as a whole and attribute all passages as symbolic or a description of the church today we get ourselves into trouble.

There is also the proper application of cross references. Jesus; for example laid out two concepts (loving God and your neighbor) as the SUM of the law (see Matthew 22:36-40). However; the law itself was superceded as it were with grace. That meant more STRINGENT applications as were brought up with the subject of thoughts related to adultery and hatred also brought up by Christ. (see Matthew 5:17-30). The concept of covenants in scripture is equally valid; as I see it with dispensations as there are multiple covenants (some for Israel; and the only one for the church being the New Covenant). Even that won't be totally fulfilled until the Millennium.

Alex N 1939...Hi Rob lemme give ya feelings about the righteousness of this earth in the last days.

Isaiah says that God was gonna make a man more precious then Gold even the golden wedge of Ophir...which is gonna be by his fire of the H.G....in the last day i will pour out of my spirit on all flesh... Joel 2:32

Isaiah said that Knowledge ( An intimacy that is gonna cover this earth resulting in a New BIRTH for every man)...If i be lifted up i will draw all men unto me....While we were yet sinners Christ shed his blood for every man....He has to know us thats when we get that good seed that initiates a new Birth....thats y we need the contents of the book the living words of God.

Who shall abide the day of his coming, Who shall stand when he appears...( 2 nd coming )...For he shall be as a refiners fire and fullers soap....A cleasing fire..Malichi 3 :2...Every sinner has to have his part in the lake of fire...As our God is a Consuming fire...That H.G. FIRE....Remember Jesus said i come to bring fire on the earth which is his baptism of the H.G. and fire....Judgement must began in the house of God...In our hearts and minds etc...I will make a man more precious then Gold...Thus his baptism of the H.G.and Fire.

....I was found of them that sought me not and i was made manifest to them that asked not after me... Hebrews 10:20...The blood of this new Covenant is stronger then anymans sins

When that book is opened in the fathers right HAND we will all sing a new SONG...We will not sing this churchanity Song much longer...The contents of the book ( the living words of God) is gonna be sown in mans hearts...Abide in me and i in you.

.....Thats when peter saw a new heaven and a new earth...Which answers to our new heart and new spirit...So Rob i believe that what Jesus did at Calvary is gonna make us all Absolute Sons of God and the very Israel of God.

    Hi Richard,

Do you have any notes compiled about the period Israel breaks the covenant, regarding David's throne? I happens at the day of the Lord, Joel 2:1-11, and ends with Christ claiming the throne. The underlying issue is did God suspend a binding arrangement, or was it unconditional that David would never lack a man on his throne, 1 kings 9:5, Jeremiah 33:17. Does the man of sin have dominion over David's throne?

Didn't you mentioned this a few days ago? Could you do a breakdown of it? I found verses like Isaiah 24:15, Isaiah 13:11 compelling, any insight? Thanks.

Principle 5 What about the infants; children under "age of accountability" and mentally challenged individuals?

There are verses related to David's son that died with Bathsheeba that would seem to indicate that children who die before a certain age we can be confident to meet eventually in heaven. ( 2 Samuel 12:14). Those who are mentally challenged to the point where they don't consciously sin also could be arguably in that camp. I know someone who has attended concerts at our local church that I have run into twice in a month or two that is mentally challenged. He tends to obsessively listen to Christian music and gyrate uncontrollably. This is a good reminder to all of us that we don't always see what's going on in the heart of some people. It would be illogical to disbelieve in such individuals having universal salvation upon an early death and somehow expect that they would be Raptured. Whether making it to heaven AFTER death warrants being Raptured is a bit trickier; however. There are verses about gathering the weaning child in Joel 2:16 certainly invoke a theme like the Rapture in the Holy Convocation. We certainly should of course teach the scriptures faithfully to help rear our kids in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

In light of the above statement; I would say that unlike the hardened hearts of many adults; children still have potential for a large spiritual awakening in terms of numerical response to the Word. That could be something that would signify His imminent return; perhaps with abortions being significantly reduced we will indeed see if Satan has been terminating an army already in heaven of faithful martyrs and if a generation of believers will come into fruition when the children are allowed to live who otherwise would have been slain. This is just a theory; but God will receive praise ( Psalm 8:2).

Principle Six: ANY new believer is qualified for the Rapture. ( Luke 14:24-35). See my next post...

Hello Ngula. In my understanding, applying "teacher of righteousness" to the verse in Joel 2:23 is incorrect. This application is found in the Targum & Vulgate (from an old Jewish interpretation) where the normal reading & understanding of the verse has been altered. Why they have done this, I cannot be sure.

In the KJV, "...for he hath given you the former rain MODERATELY...", is from the Hebrew, 'tsedaqah', which generally means 'righteously'. This implies that God has given & will give them the former rain righteously (in correct measure, in right proportion), or as in the KJV, 'in moderation'. To make this verse, and the following verses that complement it (vv24-26) to mean something else, is in my opinion mistreating God's Word. Unfortunately, this other rendering was adopted into the AV margin.

I would like to know more about the marginal rendering of Joel 2:23 as "teacher of righteousness" and why it does not appear as the preferred translation.

No , but we are in the last days . prophesy is yet to be fulfilled for Joel 2:32 such as the northern army is yet to appear and turn the ungodly into stubble . the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. then comes the restoration of the years eaten by the locusts . the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

In other words , the great tribulation has not here yet .

Revelation 6:12-17 describes two separate events, out of order as written.

The sixth seal flows into the sixth trumpet.

The verse 12 earthquake ( Revelation 11:13) triggers the sixth trumpet, Joel 2:2, sun becomes black, moon as blood, day of the Lord attack on both modern day houses of Israel: Ezekiel 38:9, Ezekiel 38:16, Ezekiel 21:19-20.

Verse 13: stars falling signifies God suspending His binding covenant that David would never lack a man on his throne, the protection of grace lifted for captivity. Jeremiah 33:20-26, ( 1 Kings 9:52).

Much of Revelation is hidden in allegory, and in this case, written backwards. Revelation 6:14-17 attack MUST occur before Revelation 6:12-13 (classic sixth trumpet day of the Lord language).

    Isnt prophesying teaching ? 1 Corinthians 11:5

I'm of the opinion 1 Timothy 2:12 is saying women should not admonish , nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. since women are easily deceived as was Eve , and not Adam in the Garden

The disturbances in 1 Corinthians 14:34 is suffice to say .

I find it absurd to think women are not to teach the Gospel , nor prophesy all throughout this dispensation of time , but then are permitted to in the end times where sons and daughters shall prophesy written of in the book of Joel 2:28 .

    I just think there's something more to the word "teach" in 1 Timothy 2:12 - 15 .

Father, Lord Jesus again I ask for your strong intervention, your help ( Psalm 50:15) concerning the current situations and overall, your protection ( Ps. 91, 34:7, 3:3, Isaiah 54:17 and all other promises in the word), for healing and restoration ( Ps. 23:3, Jer. 17:14, Joel 2:25), deliverance ( Acts 2:2), for salvation ( 1 Timothy 2:4, Acts 16:31), for us to walk in a manner pleasing to you and for your Agape love in our hearts for you and others and for the fullness of the Holy Spirit ( Eph. 3:14-19). Father, Lord Jesus please also do the same for all others in need and please help all suffering (esp. children, people in war zones like Ukraine etc...so much suffering in the world). Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Dickens you do greatly err...The Father and the son are 1 only in the Spiritline...The Father neva died, It was only the son that died so they are clearly 2 distinct beings...But the Son and the Father are 1 only in their relationship as Father and Son...Even in the natural we are 1 with our Fathers....We carry our Father's last name simply b/c we are 1 bloodine....Jesus carried the same spirit/Bloodline as his father...Remember the Father neva died....As Jesus said that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit...So Spirits can be born in us and are individual and have different names but they are all Sons of God...Thats y the bible speaks of an Israel of God which are spirits that are gonna be born in us...And are gonna be as the stars of heaven in multitudes....The very fact that God refers to himself as Father is indicative of multiplication of his spirit.... Joel 2:28 says that God is gona pour out of his spirit on all flesh...Thus everybody is gona get a Seed which is the LIVING WORD a measure of faith...The Father is only greater b/c he is the FATHER OF SPIRITS...The H.G. plural Spirits are the Gifts of God...They are all 3 related as FATHER SON AND GRANSON...Just like ABRAHAM ISSAC AND JACOB WERE FATHER SON AND GRANSON...That were mutiplied as the sands of the seas...God wd NOT have told Moses that his Name was Abraham Issac and Jacob if the Godhead was not a Trinity...God tells Moses that is my Name and my memorial forever to all Generations..Thus there has to be an Israel OF God.

.....In Isaiah 11:1 Which was approx. 250 yrs after Jesse David and Solomon had all died...Isaiah is using these 3 men as symbolic of a kingdom coming in the last days... Isaiah 11:11 is saying that this Jesse David and Solomon is coming again a 2 nd time which is symbolic of the Father Son and H.G. Which is Father Son and Granson...Thats y Jesus is saying he is the root and the offspring of DAVID...Impling the Davidic Kingdom was a type of the heavenly Kingdom..Father Son and Granson.

Yeah, that's where you lost me bro, Christ comes to establish God's Kingdom Here on Earth, no one goes anywhere, we are CHANGED when He returns.

All who are alive and remain (will) go through the tribulation, only difference is those who have the seal of God will not be touched by the Locust army,,, it is commanded by God

Who are these locusts? God's Army

Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Revelation 7:2 - And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Revelation 9:3 - 7 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

9:4 And it was commanded them{locust army} that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; (but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.)

I listed scripture in hope you would read & the LORD through the HOLY Spirit would lead you. John 14:26, 1John 2:27, James 1:5,

There seems to be several ways to 'fast" before GOD. the most important seems to be, the Heart & actions of the individual or 'people' fasting. GOD points out to deal your bread to the hungry, keep it secret, pray for justice, & do Justice, act justly. It's not to be for self exalting Isaiah 58,

Sometimes people fast (most often) by not eating or drinking for a certain time. 1 meal, 'skipping a meal" 2Samuel 1:12, Judges 20:26,

Some eat regular meals but take things out that are enjoyable like sweet treats, rich meats. Like Daniel 1, Daniel 9,

Extreme fasts were Jesus & Moses. Please only fast what the HOLY Spirit leads you to. Not other's.

Sometimes it's very good to take all media, TV, phones, devices that distract, make noises ect even Christian radio away for a time to focus, be quiet & still before GOD, that's a way to humble yourself before GOD.

In the Bible many times they would rip their clothing throw dust on their heads. Joel 2:13, said don't, but rend your hearts, Matthew 6:16, Interestingly no account witnessed Jesus do that outward display, yet Jesus healed & delivered all who believed. Some people practice a life of types of fasting. Like Jesus, Paul, 2Corinthians 11:27, Matthew 17:21, Mark 9:29 Please read, pray, be still & quiet waiting on the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY while you dedicate time, other enjoyable things unto the LORD & study HIS WORD the Bible, also turn aside/away from things, displeasing to GOD, sin = repenting from or atleast trying & attempting to (if your fasting for your own deliverance) from things like addictions, habits etc..) abstain from wine etc.

that's what I recommend on how to "fast". Again I recommend the scriptures in previous reply.

Fasting is supernaturally amazing, it most definitely changes things, saves lives, delivers, defeats oppression, & enemies.

    Hopefully this is helpful

I recommend going straight to the Bible. Today's verse on this website is perfect 2Chronicles 7:14,

    Isaiah 58, Ezra 8:21, Daniel 9, Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:17-29, Joel 2:12,14,15, Acts 10:30-31, 1Corinthians 7:2-5, Matthew 6:16,17,18,

Esther 4, context begins in previous chapters including Esther 1, explaning her heritage & by wisdom they had kept it silent.

Daniel 6:18, Jonah 3:4-10, notice these two noted here were not known as Godly people yet even their fast was recognized & rewarded by GOD, repentance & humbling themselves, before GOD.

Hopefully these are helpful in your study

Hey Mark GBU... Lemme give ya my understanding on the 4 winds its simply all the world....North South East AND WEST....Jesus said the Wind is symbolic of his spirit his words that cannot be seen but only heard...

...... Joel 2:28 I will pour out of my SPIRIT ( the wind of God ) on all flesh....And your sons and daughters shall prophesy....All flesh is all the world North South East and West....And his spirit is the wind of God to all parts of the world

......On the day of Pentacost that mighty rushing wind was blowing on folks from every nation all the world which was the H.G.....Which was the Promise of his Father....Baptism of the H.G....Behold the Promise of my Father...which was that mighty rushing WIND that filled the house...He makes his son to shine to the good and the bad...and his rain to fall on all the world.

And the 4 gospels are filled with the Blood of the lamb the Cross and his words and he says my words are spirit and life....The wind of God which is the H.G. GODS ELECT.

......And he breathe on them and they received the H.G. His breath was the wind of God....Just as God breathe the breath of life in humanity.

......We were all born by the will of some man.... its only the H.G. that Child of Promise that is born by the will of God in us....Thus its only the H.G. that is the Child of PROMISE THE ELECT.....Which is our new heart and new spirit the mind of Christ.. Romans 9 :8-17 kjv

    Daniel Chapter 9

Gabriel decrees that the Messiah, Jesus will be put to death following the second period of 62 sevens or 434 years. If as many historians believe the birth of Jesus was in 4 BC, this accurately proclaims the year that Jesus was crucified.

25 Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem unto Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (49 years)and three score and two weeks (434 years) the street shall be built again and the wall even in troublesome times.

Artaterxes in 453 BC gave the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem. The wall was rebuilt in 404 BC. Jesus was crucified in 30 AD. Shabua is the Hebrew word meaning a seven year period.

26 And after three score and two weeks (434 years) shall Messiah be cut off but not for himself (crucified) and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary thereof, shall be destroyed with a flood and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week(7 years) and in the midst of the week (3.5 years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Mathew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (whoso readeth let him understand). This is the defining sign before Jesus returns.

Then follows great tribulation from the midst of the week for 3.5 years prior to the return of Jesus to gather His elect (His Bride the Church triumphant).

Mt 24:29,30, 31 describe the return of Jesus after the tribulation. Joel 2:21 describes the sun being turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord. 1Thessalonians 4:15, 16, 17 describe the return of the Lord, also heralded by a trumpet. of a trumpet.

Some preach fasting as a command because Jesus said "when, thou fastest" Matthew 6:16-21,

Sometimes people & Church congregations fast for closeness with GOD, to feel HIS presence, & clarity on direction from GOD: Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:19,20, Luke 5:34,35, Ezra 8:21,23, Nehemiah 1:4, Nehemiah 1, (in context.), Daniel 9:2-3, 2Corinthians 6:4,5

Fasting & prayer to help deliver people from sin, addiction, mental illness, demonic oppression, Matthew 17:21, (context) Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:17-29,

    1Samuel 7:3

    1Corinthians 7:3-5,

    Fasting for deliverance: 2Chronicles 20:1-30, Esther 4:3,16, in context: Esther 3:8-15, - Esther 4, Daniel 6:12-23, Joel 1:14, Joel 2:12,

Fasting in repentance, sometimes even after GOD's judgement : 1Samuel 7:2-17, 2Samuel 12:7-23, (do you think it was easier to except it because he was fasting? While others were perplexed?) 1Kings 21, note 1Kings 21:27-29, Jonah 3:5-10, Joel 2:15,

    Also Isaiah 58,

Jesus fasted an extreme fast: Matthew 4:2,

When it says in: Matthew 10:8, Luke 10:9, Mark 16:17-18, can we do these things without fasting?

I believe there are too many scriptures about power in fasting, direction, deliverance & repentance to think lightly of.

Fasting is submission, Romans 13:7, Luke 20:25, Matthew 17:25-26,

    Hopefully these are helpful

The prophets saw the World in travail and birth pains....When he was on the Cross and they pierced him out came the blood and the water, he was initiating a New Covenant in his blood....A birthing Covenant as water and blood is indicative of a birth we must all be bornagain which requires an intimacy via his seed the word.

..... Zech 12 :10...They shall look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as one who in mourning for his 1st born, His only son...And be in bitterness as one who is in bittereness for his 1st born , our only son....Which is The son of man our 1 st born our only son in the spritual realm that is gonna be multiplied as the Stars of Heaven.

.....Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered .Then i will turn my hand to the lil ones...Our 1st born our only son via his seed indicative of a Intimacy with Christ...Which is the regeneration of Christ the H.G. The washing of the H.G.

.....Not by works of righteousness which we have done but by the washing of the H.G. THE REGENERATION OF Christ the lil ones the H.G. Will regenerate themselfs in humanity via his seed the living word....Making us all clean Titus 3 : 5 kjv...That was the great Promise that Christ wd be multiplied as the Stars of Heaven...Which is the pouring out of his spirit on all flesh JOEL 2: 28..I will know them ALL a birth ...ok GBU FRED

Hi Julie. I tried to search out Genesis 1:1 using the Roman Catholic Bible (from various Catholic sites), but all showed the words as 'God created' (not in plural). So apart from what Richard has given you concerning the use of the word 'Elohim', not much more could be added. Unless you can give us more info on that particular Bible you saw it in.

I agree, that 'jealousy' is normally understood as a sin, but when we see it applied to God's Character, then we can understand that the meaning changes. When we see verses such as Exodus 34:14, Joel 2:18, & Zechariah 8:2, then we can better appreciate God's Nature - that He is not as a man is. I understand that this word has at its base, God's Character; not jealous in nature, but because of Who God is & His righteous demands upon His creation.

When we read that God "is jealous for Zion", or "the Lord revengeth, for He is a jealous God", or "jealous for His holy Name", we see that His Character, His Holiness will not be compromised when evil abounds. If God overlooked sin & let Israel do whatever they wanted, then God would betray Who He is, thus He 'jealously' guards the Holiness of His Person & metes out justice when due.

And when He is "jealous for Zion", it shows that Zion is His special possession & He will always look upon her with affection & protect her. In today's terms, we could say that 'a country (insert yours here) is jealous of her freedom', indicating that this jealousy is good because the freedom now enjoyed has come through much pain & suffering. Since it was so costly, it should be guarded so strongly (or, jealously). So, I hope you can appreciate the 'other' uses of this word.

A Commentary on the word Darkness:

The plague (the ninth) of darkness in Egypt ( Ex. 10:21) is "described as darkness "which may be felt." It covered "all the" "land of Egypt," so that "they saw not one another." It did not" extend to the land of Goshen (ver. 23). "When Jesus hung upon the cross ( Matt. 27:45; Luke 23:44), from "the "sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the" "ninth hour." "On Mount Sinai, Moses ( Ex. 20:21) "drew near unto the thick "darkness where God was." This was the "thick cloud upon the" "mount" in which Jehovah was when he spake unto Moses there. The" "Lord dwelt in the cloud upon the mercy-seat ( 1 Kings 8:12), the" cloud of glory. When the psalmist ( Ps. 97:2) describes the "inscrutable nature of God's workings among the sons of men, he" "says, "Clouds and darkness are round about him." God dwells in" thick darkness. "Darkness ( Isa. 13:9, 10; Matt. 24:29) also is a symbol of the judgments that attend on the coming of the Lord. It is a symbol of misery and adversity ( Job 18:6; Ps. 107:10; Isa. 8:22; Ezek. "30:18). The "day of darkness" in Joel 2:2, caused by clouds of" "locusts, is a symbol of the obscurity which overhangs all divine" "proceedings. "Works of darkness" are impure actions ( Eph. 5:11)." Outer darkness refers to the darkness of the streets in the "East, which are never lighted up by any public or private lamps" "after nightfall, in contrast with the blaze of cheerful light in" the house. It is also a symbol of ignorance ( Isa. 9:2; 60:2; Matt. 6:23) and of death ( Job 10:21; 17:13).

Hi Rohit. I think you're referring to some of Jesus' last words to the apostles in Acts 1:4,5. Or maybe to Peter's preaching to those unbelievers during Pentecost in Acts 2:14-21 (as written by the prophet Joel).

If so, then Peter was referring to Joel 2:28-32. A part of this prophecy has taken place at Pentecost (the birth of the Church) and the latter part of the prophecy (vv 30,31) is yet to take place. But all these events are placed in what is referred to as 'the last days' (i.e. the whole period of time from Jesus being sacrificed for our sins, His Spirit poured out upon those who've come to Him in faith, & the Church moving on & growing through evangelization & strengthening of the faithful, & eagerly waiting for the time when God finally begins to close the curtains of this age).
