I still all believers to experience the infilling of the HolyGhost by the evidence of speaking with other tongues Tongues are your evidence that God has put His Spirit within you ( Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6) I am referring to the outpouring of the HolyGhost that happened in the book of Acts and was prophesied in Joel 2:28. I am not referring to the gift of tongues, one of the nine gifts that Apostle Paul was teaching the Corinthians. I have experienced the infilling of the HolyGhost by the evidence of speaking with other tongues. The church at Corinth were out of order and Paul wrote them to establish order in the church because they were misusing this particular gift. He taught in I Corinthians not only about tongues but communion, the order of creation, etc. Paul did not forbid them from speaking in tongues, but rather that ye prophesy. Tongues edifies the believer, unless he can interpret so that the church can be edified. Prophesy edifies the body of Christ. I certainly agree with you as it relates to the edifying of the church. I have experienced both in my lifetime. The gifts of the Spirit are in the church today and they operate through people. Paul taught on the correct use of them in the church. No, all are not apostles, nor prophets, nor teachers or workers of miracles. But all can receive the gift of the HolyGhost. The HolyGhost allows believers to operate in the capacity that you are referencing. I do not know what churches you visited where people are out of order. But when God is in control, people will be in order. The initial infilling of the HolyGhost was what I was talking about, not necessarily the gift of tongues. Without the gift of the HolyGhost, you won't be using the utilizing the gift of tongues.

    Time

In this chapter we see Joel again warning of the approaching judgment of sinners emphasizing how time was running out. In making application we see that the Lord extends grace for repentance for a specific period of time. Just as we do not know the specific time of the second coming of the Lord we do not know if we will have more than one opportunity to respond to the Lord when convicted of our sin. All we know is that today is the day of repentance. How about you? Do you see that the we are not promised tomorrow. Let us learn from our text today and the warning from Joel to see that there is a time when we will no longer have the opportunity to repent reminding us that today is day of repentance.

I think he is talking about the end times and giving us more info on what is going to happen. "The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. " which text like this can also be found in parts of revelation.

    (Part 1)

    Tim,

I would like to share with you my understanding of Matthew Chapter 24. Matthew Chapters 24 and 25 deal with the end-time prophecies. There are four sections in Chapter 24 that represent the 70th week of Daniel.

Section 1: "The Pains of Birth" Verses 4-14. Section 2: Matthew 24:15 is "The Pivotal Point." Section 3: Matthew 24:16-28, "The Perils of Tribulation." And then fourthly, Verses 29 to 31 is "The Promise of His Coming," given to us in Isaiah 13:10 and 34:4, Joel 2:10 and 3:15, 7:13, Isaiah 27:13, and Zechariah 12:10.

Beginning at verse 3 of Chapter 24, the disciples are looking for answers as to when these things are going to happen. Jesus then begins answering, and from Verses 4-14, He gives the details of the first 3-1/2 years of the tribulation, known as the pains of birth. In Verse 15, we have the pivotal point, the abomination of desolation.

Then in Verse 16, we see that Jesus is talking to Jewish believers. Actually, I believe the entire Chapter is given to Jewish believers. But Jesus tells them to flee. Verses 16 to 28 talk about the perils of tribulation, the last 3-1/2 years of the 7 year Tribulation period. It's going to be a very severe time.

Verse 22 is showing us that if God did not have a time period when He says okay I am going to stop, everybody would be wiped out.

But for the sake of the elect, a special word brought over from the O.T. as a title for the Jewish people. They are His elect people. It doesn't mean they are all saved but they are His chosen people. He realizes there are 144,000 of them out there, plus all the others who believed, and this is something that is going to happen in the last part of the tribulation period.

Verses 29-31, we have the promise of His coming. I recently shared the actual 7 Steps of a Jewish Wedding. If we understand those 7 steps, it helps to understand the coming of Christ and some of the Jewish views about when Christ is coming back. Those steps are fascinating!

Joel's prophecies can only come true in the Kingdom Age, Christians are not given signs, wonders, dreams and vision. We have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, access to the Throne of Grace, a completed Bible, and the command to 'walk by faith...

"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit." Joel 2:28,29 (KJV) READ IT ALL...

"And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come." Joel 2:30,31 (KJV).

Tongues are the initial evidence that one has received the gift of the HolyGhost. There are nine gifts of the Spirit outlined in I Corinthians 12. Paul wrote to the Corinthians to help things in order; for they were all out of order. The gift of tongues outlined in I Corinthians 12 is part of the nine gifts of the Spirit. Every believer who received the HolyGhost may not have the gift of tongues. While a person will speak in tongues when they receive the HolyGhost according to Acts 2:4 and Acts 2:38, he or she may not have the gift of tongues. I have never witnessed where one speaks in tongues in the congregation and there was no one who could interpret what was said. I understood what you documented from I Corinthians 14. I agree. Again, there are nine gifts: 1) word of wisdom; 2) word of knowledge; 3) gift of faith; 4)gifts of healing; 5)working of miracles; 6) gift of prophecy; 7) discerning of spirits; 8) divers kinds of tongues; and 9) interpretaion of tongues. These gifts are operating in the church today. I have witnessed all nine in operation in the body of Christ. They are in people. Some people may have one gift; while others have multiple gifts. God has set them in the church to edify the body of Christ and bring glory to Him. Tongues are not forbidden in the body of Christ; and all should seek to bring glory to God by edifying the church. Prophesy edifies the church; tongues edify an individual believer. We should all, if do not posess the interpretation( not a translation) of tongues, pray that we may interpret. Again, I have witnessed all nine gifts in operation. You can interpret if you desire that gift from God. Trust me, I know. But we should desire spiritual gifts to bring glory to God and to edify or encourage the fellow believer. Again, God is still fulfilling prophesy ( Joel 2:28). Christians need the leaders of the body of Christ to teach them what is proper and orderly.

    Continuation...

In the 7th Seal, the Trumpets are introduced. This Seal signifies the last days of the Great Tribulation of Matthew 24. The Trumpets sound at the very last hour of the Tribulation. Then the Bowls of the Wrath of God are found in the last Trumpet. It is that last hour that is referred to as The Day of The Lord or Day of His Wrath. See 14:7.

In any case, Genesis 37:9 is a reference to people, more specifically, Joseph's brothers. Now, although the reference in Judges 5:20 appears to be to Angels, it is more specifically a reference to earthly Kings at war.

In Revelation 22:16, Jesus refers to Himself as The Bright and Morning Star.

Joel 2:10 seems to be speaking of more than just stars. It is speaks of the powerful and influential, whose luster, whose brightness, whose power, appeal and influence are diminished by the army of God. But who is that army? It is an army of people.

Again, who is the star in Revelation 9:1?

I hope this answers your question. But keep in mind that in everyday speak and historically, we sometimes refer to prominent people as stars, too.

Thanks for asking. It would be good to hear your opinion on this also.

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; (This is toward the end of the tribulation)

Matthew 1:21 - And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. IS Jesus wrong that you use YESHUA? So is the Bible "mistranslated''? An angel of the Lord said to use this name. By what authority does anyone else have to use another? Just curious is all.

Act 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

It was our Glorious and Blessed Lord Christ Messiah Yeshua - who had truly already come in the flesh once and for all time to come who had closed out the Old Testament age - Kingdom of Heaven Genesis / 4 Gospels included / water baptism from John - was for the Jewish people of that day and time only - not the gentiles = Rightly Divided - while on the cross had kicked open the new age of His Divine Grace of the Temporary age of the Gentiles on the Day of Pentecost - book of Acts - was the transition into it = - Holy Spirit = speaking in Tongues - = Romans through Jude / STOP. Why ? Because the book of Revelation transitions back to the Kingdom of Heaven age book of Revelation.

Look into Jewish traditions like Kabbalah. Look at the Chabad Lubavitch group they teach that kabbalah is the soul of judaism they claim.
They call Jesus Yeshu which is a curse actually.
the new testament was written in Greek and not Hebrew and anyone who refuses to use the name of Jesus, the name that devils tremble at, is suspect in my opinion.

Q: Did Jesus take the Kingdom of God from the Jews?

A: Mathew 21:43 : Therefore say I (Jesus speaking to the Jews) unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
What nation? Greeks who spread the gospel while it was unbelieving jews who tried to stop it. Read Paul's writings

we see the beginnings of this in the Messianic Jews, true to their Jewish heritage as well as Naming Christ the messiah I know Messianics that speak in tongues and Christians that honor Jewish tradition. The day is coming when all of his people from all different denominations that love Him, Praise Him and Give him Glory heeding his directions to us. Praise His name. Maranatha

Joel 2:28 is saying that God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh meaning the Holy Spirit on men and women. When it says your sons and daughters will prophesy thats totally different from preaching what that sentence means is God will give a male or female a revelation of the future thats prophesying not preaching.

We went and when the preacher invited all to come up and accept Christ My wife poked me with her elbow, so we both went up and accepted Christ. Later I told her if she hadn't poked me I would not have gone up. She said I poked you not

Vs 28: "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh..." We are living at a time where we are witnessing God's Spirit being poured out upon the earth. His prophets and messengers are RISING UP, trying to awaken a sleepy church and a world that does not know He exists. GOD IS SPEAKING, but who will hear Him?

Bro. Alex I do agree w/you on the quoted Joel 2:28-29 speaks of an out pour of the Holy Spirit. Again, Noah's Flood in the OT is literally a flood. I assumed her question spurred from Noah's Flood (Gen) the judgment on the earth for sin. Her question: Since the earth was flooded, how would the sinful earth be addressed next time? 2Peter 3:10. If I misread her question my apologies to you and her.

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Yet Joel 2:28 says, "your daughters shall prophesy", which Peter quotes in Acts 2:17-18. To prophesy, according to 1 Cor 14:3, is to "speak unto men to edification." So it isn't so much the women speaking, but in what constitutes 'church' and authority in God's eyes. More on that in 2 weeks: stay tuned.

Contrary to popular beleif, Repentance is a step, a pillar and the agent unto the covenant God has given us as prophesied in Joel 2:12-14 This repentance, Has NEVER equated salvation. It suffices the requirement of the LAW, Baptism suffices the requirement of Promise, and tounges suffices the requirement of the Sign. These three are made one in us, LAW,Atonement and Charity.
