Jesus used the word gods, note the small g in god. It means that we have the intelligence, ability, power to reason and solve problems, but we don't know all, can't see our future. We are limited in this body but God, who knows all, sees all....is not limited in his power. He can do anything without failure.

    DEUTERONOMY 6:4

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
    Revation 4:2
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

vs 34-35, ye are gods? ( Psalm 82) refer to Judges, Israel judges had the law and use the word of God to make judgment. Jesus is saying to the Jews: you're judging me and here you, yourself are call gods, and your mad at me because I call myself one. Jesus is the Supreme God. it was their law because God gave it to them. Word of God can't be broken.
  • Irene123 on John 10 - 7 years ago
Jn. 10:32 - Jesus HIMSELF advocated good works, but He was referring to just Himself at this time - as He had not as yet ascended and sent back the Holy Ghost - Acts 2:4, v. 38..

vs 2, Wise servant/shameful son (see Eccl. 10:7). The servant operating out of the authority of his imagination (heart) will rule (have power) over a son operating from the sense realm (human lusts, ie. prodigal son, Luke 15). The person that discovers their divine position ( Ps. 82:6, John 10:34) will share the inheritance (blessings) along with other like-minded ( Gal. 3:29) in Christ.

  • A disciple on John 10 - 7 years ago
Suzanne, ( John 10:34-36); in this part, the Jews were scandalized by the irrefutable fact before their eyes, that God was come to them in the flesh; and were completely hardened to all Jesus' wonderful works of power, and the unsearchable wisdom of His words; all which, ONLY GOD COULD DO! As to us being called gods, who have the Word of God in us; How else should we describe those in God's image?

  • Irene123 on John 10 - 7 years ago
To Stephanie - Thank-you for your response. I know that we can have more 'n more of Jesus; we can never have enough; we grow from faith to faith; I want to encourage to - PRAY for our President. That GOD's will will be done in his decisions for this nation and world. God bless you and yours, Stephanie.
  • Stephanie on John 10 - 7 years ago
Yes, Irene123, I was referring to you. I think the comment/question you had made was "How do you go through the door...?". It wasn't that I was implying you didn't go to church enough, just some ways that you can have Jesus in your heart.
  • Irene123 on John 10 - 7 years ago
To Stephanie - Were you talking to me .....? Because you didn't use the "123" - I can't be sure, nor could I find any name of Irene or Irene123 in the back comments of this chapter. If you were I wish I remembered what I said to make you think I don't attend ch. enough,

  • Gdc on John 10 - 7 years ago
This is truly one of the most prophetic of the scriptures. Jesus gives us light unto the magnificent grace that have been bestowed upon his saints. That we have the power by the Holy Ghost to endure temptation. We hear his voice, we follow him. We have the power to overcome the evil one by faith. Jesus also tells us that he and the father are one as we are one through his life that he laid down.
  • Nontokozo on John 10 - 7 years ago
verse 38, we must show by the way we live that we accepted Christ. people must see you and believe that Jesus do change lives. we are ambassadors let us present Christ with our work, character, attitude and behaviour.
  • STEPHANIE on John 10 - 8 years ago
Irene-If you haven't already and if you truly want to go through that door (Jesus Christ), surrender your life to Jesus. Ask him to be your personal Lord and Savior. Be baptized in water. Go to church more. Show more love and compassion as Jesus did. As John 14:6 says, "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life."
  • Bible Reader on Hebrews 1 - 8 years ago
JESUS is God. There is no trinity in the Bible. The bible plainly states that Jesus is God. JOHN 10:30 I and my father are one.
EPHESIANS 4:5 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

Verse 16: Jesus says - "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd". Now by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives, for those of us who have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are commissioned to reach out to the lost all over the world for the salvation of their souls.

  • Lucinda Hardman on Psalms 89 - 8 years ago
The joyful sound is not in knowing Jesus is coming He is already here. This is why we cannot enjoy the fullness of God. Our Father's prayer says on earth as it is in heaven. To have Him is heaven and without Him is sorrow. John 10:10 says He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. When Jesus was on earth those who believed were neither sick nor hungry His presence is Joy NOW

Jeremiah 2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Jeremiah 12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. John 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. Jeremiah 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

The thief is the devil ,of course : he is here illegally : he came to kill , steal , and to destroy , in every area of our lives, not just in a certain one : Jesus came in legally and He gives life and that I can have more abundantly through His word and His Spirit that is within . I have all and abound. !!!!
  • Centyfano A on Isaiah 53:5 - 9 years ago
"We love him, because he first loved us."- 1 John 4:19. We should rejoice, not because Christ's stripes heal our bones, rather because they revive our spirits and reconcile us back to our Creator. He said: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:11. Christ suffered, long before we knew it. He paid our debt, long before we even realised that we owed anybody. He redeemed us, long before we fathomed anything about the plan of redemption. He was slain for us "from the foundation of the world". Though, at times, our flesh may ail, or even die, let us be assured that our spirits wont, since they were purchased by blood unto life by "him that loved us, and washed us from our sins, in his own blood."- Rev 1:5. Says Job, "For I know that my Reedemer liveth, and he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my FLESH, I SHALL SEE GOD"- 19:25,26 Oh, How I Love Jesus, Because He First Loved Me!!!

John 10 is deep in allegory, but is pure truth. The Muslims claim that the Bible has been changed, they are wrong, not one word has been added or removed.
