Jesus set an excellent example in showing self-sacrificing love, putting the needs and interests of others ahead of self. We too should want to display unselfish love, and we are to do it so plainly that our love is evident to everyone who sees us.

Tilda; 'we' don't 'accept' Christ; if you'll read the Gospels as Jesus gathered His disciples - he 'called' everyone of them; as He passed by them, they didn't say, "Hey, lets follow Jesus." John 15:16; Matt. 20:16. Jesus knows who will obey Him. Judas Iscariot was chosen to fulfill phrophecy - John 13:18, "......... I know whom i have chosen.............."

JESUS was talking to satan in Judas, Judas did not submit to JESUS CHRIST as LORD SAVIOUR. To as many as recieve HIM JESUS to them gives HE the power to become Sons of GOD.

To have love one to another is as I believe : When you have love to your brother sister means to love them unconditionally as God does : In the face of wrongfully treatment : sarcassim : bitter words : The love of God flowing through you to that person is True love : Also true love is forgiving them before they ever do anything to you or one of your loved ones. Love them as my Lord Jesus God my Father Loves me.

We can drive ourselves crazy making plans and trying to figure out the future instead of leaving it to the Lord. We need to pray more and worry lest.
  • Lilian on John 13 - 9 years ago
WE must not forget that we are the children of God. We have anointed by God therefore no enemy can touch his anointed one. Jesus loves us so much we are now live because of his forgiveness, we are now pardoned and redeemed by God. Our job now is to believe Jesus that he is the Son of the Living God that he who believes in him will not be perish but will have everlasting life. We must be born again in spirit every moment of our life. We must accept God 's words and obey them until rapture. Thanks to Jesus for fullfilling the scriptures and sheding his precious blood to all of us Brethen.. We must walk now with faith and not by sight.. There is no other Jehovah its Jesus and the Holy Father. thanks be to God and be blessed. Jesus is so faithful to his promises and he is the only God who will never ever fail us. His love and mercy are always following us. Amen

The LORD gives us many indications we are in the last days one being the persistence of some spreading falsehood. Deceivers running rampant and popping up everywhere with hopes of leading some away from the Savior. John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Colossians Chapter 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist...........May no man mislead those seeking the truth of God with all their hearts. Amen

Trinitarian Alert:Verse John 13:3 says that Jesus knew that his father had given him all authority and that he,Jesus, was from God and he was returning to God. If Jesus is God,and there is only one God and no one else Isa 45:5 , why would Jesus return to himself? There is not one agreeing scripture to substantiate Jesus returning to himself. This is because Jesus, who at John 17:3 identifies the only true God, is going to God and is not God. He is the exact reflection of God. The same image. What is that? Well, God is spirit.Phip 2:6.

Jesus is telling us that we are all equal one body of Christ no member greater then another so even if we are a leader in church or not we are all one and needed to be a light in this dark world

    we must serve.
  • Marsha on John 13 - 10 years ago
I think what the Lord meant by washing one another 's feet was a representation of his forgiveness of our sin, first of all. The washing of the feet, was representative of his washing away our sins. Note, he said that everyone in the room was clean except the one that would betray him. And likewise, if he forgives us for our sins, represented by washing our feet, we should forgive others for theirs, i.e wash others ' feet. I also think it meant that we should have an attitude of servitude toward our fellow Christians. We should be willing to do anything necessary for them, even to "stoop so low " as to wash their feet. And voluntarily, I might add, because the Desciples did not ask Jesus to wash their feet.
  • Keith on John 13:27 - 10 years ago
We must bear in mind that the betrayal was already made. Judas only needed to complete his commitment. Jesus was not telling Judas to go ahead and betray him. Judas already made the arrangements. The Holman commentary communicates nonsense when it says that Jesus offered a token of love and friendship to Judas when he gave him sop in an effort to change his mind. That is silly. If Jesus attempted to change the mind of Judas then Jesus was attempting to leave one of the prophecies about himself unfulfilled or perhaps many by way of chain reaction . EVERY prophecy concerning messiah HAD to be fulfilled or it would have been proven that Jesus was a fake. Jesus had to be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver . I believe Jesus knew who Judas was before he said "Follow me ". Jesus knew Judas would betray him. My thoughts are that Jesus was expressing his love for Judas by the sop. Perhaps the bread or morsel that filled with liquid was a picture Jesus was giving to Judas and to us of how Satan was about to fill Judas. What a sad moment.
  • BSP on John 13:5 - 10 years ago
This really shows how humble and loving Jesus was. He performed the work of a lowly slave in washing the feet of each of his disciples. He showed love in even washing the feet of Judas even though he knew he was going to betray him. Jesus is truly worthy of our love and we should try to imitate him in our dealings with others.
