    COME TO CHRIST.
  • Martin on John 14:20 - 10 years ago
This is the spiritual birth he that believes on me out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water but this spake he of the spirit that they believe on me should receive for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet gloryifed The Spiritual Birth is accomplished when a portion of Holy Spirit merges with a human spirit The cross the shed blood of Jesus is the cleansing process because the Holy Spirit cannot live in a unclean temple This is a basic principle in the doctrine of Christ

I think that as wonderful as it is the comment could be misconstrued to mean that Jesus was not wholly Man as well as wholly God but that He was a visitation than Man He had to be Man to take our sin
  • Isaac Nyaneyon Kannah Teah on John 14 - 10 years ago
John 14 makes it clear that the Trinity makes no sense He Jesus said the Father is greater than the Son Trinity The Father and the Son are co equal Jesus made it clear that he speak not of his own but the father that sent him Additionally he mentioned at verse 24 that he that loves him not keep not his sayings because the words are not his own but the father
  • Emenike charles ochuba on John 14:6 - 10 years ago

Vicki Your comment troubles me Jesus is talking to his disciples here There are no Christians here There were no Christians at all until after the day of Penticost there were only disciples or followers of Christ and there were more disciples than just the 12 apostles He also says that no one cometh unto the father except though me Many of the nation of Israel never accepted Christ therefore could not enter the Father s house I believe that He was absolutly talking about his Church here

Among what he did is the endurerance of the agony and the suffering on the cross. Even if your Shadow is raising the died and endurance and perseverance is not there(in you) ,then you've not done the ''greater works''.
  • Ruth on John 14:21 - 11 years ago
I've had several encounter with Jesus manifesting himself to me on a personal level through a prayer partner. He reveals his thoughts to me as well as giving me assurance of action i have taken. In one of my encounters he chasten me at the same time He say the most beautiful things which no man could say or think of. I will forever cherish those moments and have recorded has much as I could remember. jOHN 14:21 sums up my experiences
  • Chaz on John 14 - 11 years ago
Yes referring to the flesh. Jesus refrenced the greatness of the spirit being greater than the fleshley tabernacle. Remember he was both God and man. The flesh on Calvery did die, the Spirit never did. That is that understanding of his duality, understanding that For w/o controversey God was manifested in the flesh Col 3:16.
  • Faithfull on Matthew 25:13 - 11 years ago
Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Note: a day and an hour is a very short time! Or the woman with two wings of an eagle would not have a clue when to use them!

Rev.12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Rev.12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

john 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you
  • Jalloh on John 14 - 11 years ago
John 14:28 Is it Jesus saying that his father is greater than him?
  • Jess on 1 John 5:7 - 11 years ago
John 14:7"If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." 8Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." 9Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know ME, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father '?… Also in Matthew 28:18-19 it says 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to ME in heaven and on earth. 19"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," All authority is given to Jesus. When Philip seen Him, He saw the Father. John 17:6 says 6"I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. What is the Father's name? He is the same God who dwelt among us in the flesh.

I tank God for His love ,ask anything in the name of Jesus He will do so why I panic or go to a place wr there is no light to ask for something
  • Martha Josey on John 14 - 11 years ago
Jesus is saying if you ask any thing in my name I will do. You have to believe. You have to ask Jesus and he will ask the Father.
  • Chaz on John 14 - 11 years ago
Oh but Jesus is God: Colossians 3;16 Paul stated that for (Who was manifested in the flesh?) God! Ish 9;6 He shall be called what? (amoung other things..) The Everlasting father, the Prince of peace, the MIGHTY GOD! In Jn 14;8 Phillip asks show us the father. Jesus said, Have I been with you so long and thou hasnt known ME! In Matt it states that and his name shall be called Emanual.. being interpreted as WHO? GOD WITH US! If U understand his duality then u understand the Godhead. If u understand that we were seperated from God with no recourse. So, this God,this Emanual, this prince of peace, this Mighty God. Robed himself in human flesh, compressed himself in the womb of a virgin girl and was born as all sacrifices were, in a stable,in a barn! Lived 33 yrs, had a earthly ministry and went to Calvery and rose on the third day!! No my freind, he just isnt a messsenger he is the message! Thats why neither is there salvation in any other name, thats why we are baptized in his name. Thats why we pray in Jesus name and thats why we believe on him! He is the Father that created, the son that redeemed through calvery and is his own agent to his own church today In the Holy Ghost (still him by the way). Wether u call it the H/G, the Holy Spirit orthe spirit of Christ its all in him all teh fullness of the godhead bodily.

Me going through this verse today, seems the whole teaching and given of the gift of peace just started this moment. let not your heart be trouble, do not be afraid shows that the father, the son and the spirit has finished it. Am glad I came across this today.

SEEN here Means UNDERSTAND Not seen as in SIGHT. AS we use that word in our daily life as in ( do you see what i,m saying ? ). He did not mean that he is GOD , because He already said in MARK ch 12 v 29 ( Hear O ISRAEL, The first of all commandmants is ,the lord OUR GOD is one lord ). JESUS IS NOT GOD , but he is one of the MIGHTIEST MESSENGER,s OF GOD .

  • Gloria on John 14 - 11 years ago
This verse was teaching a lot of things and the things I grab is ask any thing in my name and it shall be given unto u, what a Love. The love of God is so strong dat it have show us his word and what so ever we want, it is in the book of life, even the points we need during our prayers, is there to use with. Thank u Lord Jesus Christ for ur mercy towards me and my Family Amen.

shows me that the father and son are not the same , but differnt entitees. chap 14 shows they are of the same personality, motivation, character, and love for us......
  • John on John 14:12 - 11 years ago
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

I think Jesus meant everything he did. Not just what he preached. Because he said greater works that he did (not say). The works of Jesus isn't just his messages but includes everything he did on earth (his messages, his lifestyle, his signs and wonders, his miracles, etc)

I stand to be corrected. Thanks.
  • Moses on John 14:23 - 11 years ago
Jn 14:23 Begins by being informative and concludes by revealing Gods perculiar v.i.p promise for the individual that would attain ä Gods approved standard of righteousness and holiness in Christ It truly takes Gods grace and revelation for an individual to attain such a level under the sun.
