Rev.1:1 the word " revelation " means to unvail,or to uncover. When you see the word "The" at the begining of a sentence pertaining to the scriptures means "positively one". The Revelation of Jesus Christ, meaning to unvail or to The uncover. What did God give to Jesus? The things that were to come to pass,What were the things?"Prophecy"was to shortly come to pass;and he sent and signified it by his angel, Who was his angel? The Bible was written in 2 languages the old testament-Hebrew the new testament-Greek THE greek def. says "angel" means a pastor 0r messenger. The hebrew def. means to despatch as a deputy;a messenger;spec,of God angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher-ambassador,angel,king,messenger. In John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Ho'ly Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,he shall teach you all things, bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. so the angel is the 'holy ghost' sent unto his servant John

"...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father..."
    ( John 14:9)

We recently went to New York City. Before we left, I had "googled" everything I needed to know. I had used Google maps to go everywhere we were to go. I had gotten reviews, and saw personal pictures of where we would be going. Every aspect of the trip had been covered. (places we were to go, modes of transportation, places we were to stay, where we would eat, time schedules, weather temperatures...)

Because I had "googled" everything and virtually walked and seen all we were to do, when we actually did it, the virtual was so close to being reality. There were a few variables that the virtual could not convey: encounters with people (whether good or bad), mechanical breakdowns, delays which alter the abstract schedule, and the human factor of leaving something out and having to improvise on foot; but, overall, the virtual was a copy of the real. You could almost overlay the one over the other and have a perfect match.

Jesus said, "...he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father."

Much like "virtual" seeing to "reality" seeing, God has given unto us His Spirit to see things now, and things yet to be seen.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. ( I Corinthians 2:9-12)

Have you "googled" the Lord today, the date for the trip is impending?

Have you ever thought that this may mean in one accord. If Jesus is God, then explain Matt 3:17, is he referring to himself? What about John 1:14, John 14:28,1 Corinth 11:3 and of course John 3:16? So tell me if Jesus is God, then when Jesus was a baby, who was over the universe?

First of all in my comments I didn't say anything about rapture. In my reading of the Holy Bible I see the Lord telling His men/disciple/church etc that He comes back so that they could expect His coming.
    John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

    Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that LOOK for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation
    1 Corinthians 1:7
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

    1 Thessalonians 2:19
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
    1 Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
    1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Colossians 3:4
When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also APPEAR with him in glory.
    Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we LOOK for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

    1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet APPEAR what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
    1 Corinthians 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming

    1 Thessalonians 4:15 - 17
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the COMING of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The Church is expecting the coming of the Lord their Savior. We children of light and of the day. We are not going to sleep at all; we are not going to lose our faith.

The coming of the Lord is not as a thief in the night for the Church. The prepared Church is expecting His coming, His saints, His holy ones are awaiting His arrival. They are not going to sleep as the 10 virgins slept (While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.). They are not preserved or kept for the darkness. But those that are choosing to receive Him at night (spiritually speaking) will meet Him when He comes from the wedding. ( And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.).

    Amos 5:18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what END [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light.
    Job 36:20
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
    John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the NIGHT cometh, when no man can work.

    1 Thessalonians 5: 1 - 10
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

So I think, we must expect Jesus and receive Him and be with Him forever rather than being part of those who are waiting for the ati-Christ.

Can one be with one and be one at the same time. verse 2 reafirms that the Word was with God.
Verse 18 says no NO ONE has seen God at ANY time!
Jesus explained him. Seeing Jesus was LIKE seeing
God because he was "the image of the invisible God
the first born of every creature" ( Col 1:15,2 Cor 4:4 Heb 1:3) in this way it can be said " I and the Father are one" ( John 10:30) & "he that has seen me has seen the Father" ( John 14:9) There is no mystery. Jesus is the the SON of the one and only true God ( John 17:3) He himself said I ascend unto my father and your father; and to my God and your God.( John 20:17)
This reasoning harmonizes with the whole Bible with no contradictions.

We need God Spirit within us the HOLY GHOST with the evidence of speaking in tounges.

But when the COMFORTER is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:( John 15:26)

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.( Gal. 4:6)

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the SPIRIT of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.( 1Cor. 12:3)

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.(Rom.8:9)For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1Cor.14:2)

To know Jesus is to love him,for he is love.He is the only way to the father. We must love him with all of our being and keep his commendments. We will be with the Lord in paradise. HE PROMISED.
  • Jayv Pilai on John 14:21 - 12 years ago
This like many other sayings of Jesus, touches on the main if not the CORE teaching of Jesus. The key words are HATH my COMMANDMENTS and KEEPETH them. Unlike the indoctrination by the Church that "our sins are all nailed onto the cross"; Jesus clearly stated that we MUST DO HIS COMMANDMENTS. It is only if we DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, we will be LOVED by Him and God. It is only then He will MANIFEST Himself. The most difficult of His Commandments is in Matthew 5.44 where He tells us to LOVE OUR ENEMY. Can any reader who reads this, love his/her enemy? I for sure find it difficult. This saying of Jesus is therefore of utmost importance as many other similar teachings. Look at this:

"Why call me lord, lord and not
do the things I tell you to do."

"Not everyone who calls me lord,
lord shall enter into the kingdom
    of heaven."

What is being practiced therefore is NOT JESUS' TRUE MESSAGE, but CHRISTIANITY MADE EASY which very much benefits the EVANGELICAL MOVEMENT and to some extent the material help to those who convert or say that they have accepted Him. I like to heat from everyone who cates to disagree.
  • Joe on John 1:1 - 12 years ago
The bible does not refer to a trinity. God does speak of himself in the plural. The Godhead includes three aspects of the same intity. God said in Gen 1:26 "Let US make man in OUR own image." So then we are made the same? We have a body, a soul, and a spirit. The body houses all 3 aspects. The soul which includes the mind, or controling aspect. And the spirit which is our divining life force. we are born with a worldly spirit. when we accept the spirit of the lord our worldly spirit dies.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God speaks to us in a still small voice or with his thoughts. Although he could use thunder or any other loud voice to get his point across he works on our minds through his spirit which is shared equally with all believers.

So Gods mind (or his word) was sent to live, teach, and suffer along with us and become the ultimate blood sacrifice to cover our sins.

    John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

It stands to reason if Jesus is the word of God that when you talk to Jesus Christ you are talking to the very mind of God.

This is truly the word of God,verse 1,let not you heart be troubled:ye believe in God,also believe in Me.
It truly states, that many of us sits with worries, what people say about us,what we hear and our problems, but hear what God say's(the bible is alive)that we must believe in Him,we must not let our heart be troubled, cause in verse 6,He clearly say's,that I am the way,the truth and the life;no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Verse 14 he promise,if we ask anything in His name,He will do it.
Trust in the Lord always, cause his love endures forever.AMEN

Response to Edrizal's questions of 8/22/11 about the "binding and loosing" of Matt.16:18. To me, this is describing the keys to the kingdom of heaven. In other words, to Peter and the church based on the premise "Thou (Jesus) art the Christ, the son of the living God", Jesus will give the power to bind and loose that which pertains to the realm of God's will being fulfilled, even while we are on earth. Believers in the solid rock, Jesus, now are authorized to bind the underworld powers and loose their victims like Jesus did while he was on earth. See John 14:12. We've got the power in the Name of Jesus. See also Eph. 2:6, 2 Cor. 10:4-5, 2 Pet.1:3-4.

  • StephendeRafael on John 14 - 13 years ago
In this chapter, Jesus defines clearly his role, that he speaks only what God the Father spoke to him in the ear. God will reward those who both have and do his commandments. Jesus says the same in that those who do these sayings of his will inherit. That is when we understand completely what is said thru study and purposefully do his will in everyday life, those then will live eternally in the heavenly mansions. There will be no miraculous second coming al la Harold Camping but only a strict adherence to the word of God will transform these bodies full of iniquities to Pure bloodwashed Angels in heaven who will worship the Father in truth as He desires from us.

At the concern over gender issues of wisdom crying and putting forth "HER" voice is a pronoun of relativity. As the church is relative to Jesus -" The Bride of Christ " but to the world the church is very masculine See Eph. 6:10 tru 17. You don't get any more masculine than putting on the whole armour of God and wrestling against powers and rulers of darkness. No sane intelligent person would ascribe that to be feminine.
But to consider Chosen Vessels comment posted 8/04/2010; I am constrained to say iv'e never heard such gobbledy gook! Jesus refered to the Holy Ghost as He over and over again in John chs. 14 tru 16. I believe it would be wisdom to agree with Jesus on this one and pray that Chosen would be delivered from confusion. To ascribe God the Father as( sub atomic darkness ), is not only unscriptural, but ignorance at best and perverting the Word of truth at worst. James 1:17 states He is the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. There is not even a shadow much less darkness with Father God. And John states in 1 John 1:5 that God is light, and in him is NO DARKNESS!! sub-atomic or otherwise. Prov. ch 8 & vs.7 wisdom cries out "For my mouth shall speak truth" Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth, and the life." John 14:6 And no man cometh unto the Father but by me. We are not coming to (sub-atomic darkness) we are coming out of darkness into His wonderful light.A notable sign of wisdom is vs.7 "SPEAK TRUTH".

It's a great commission from God, as in vs. 19-20 telling us to be baptized in the name of the father, son and the Holy Ghost is all wonderful, but where alot of us get the wrong thought is not understanding what's the name? As in human nature we come to this world in the flesh born of a woman as a son or daughter but we do not name our children son or daughter do we? (No) we give them a name, so take a look at this scripture and search it out for the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. Read John 14:8-10 the differance is the flesh and spirit, God planted himself in a virgin woman name Mary to become flesh Read Hebrews 10:5, Luke 1:30-35 pay attention to the repeat of SON, God overshadowed her with his spirit so that he can come to the world to shed his blood for us, because no one else was worthy so he made himself a body using a woman never been touched by man physically and we know when Mary birth him his name was called JESUS! Read Hebrews 9:12-15 & 26. Father is spirit,Son is flesh and Holy Ghost is spirit that indwells us when we receive him in our temple. If you would like to here more and see more scriptures please feel free to ask and God Bless you all. God's word you have to search and find the mystery of him read 1 timothy 3:16 (Anita)

John 14 is the greatest promise of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to His followers. They would stay with Him in their heavenly mansions for all eternity without end. Only one thing can give any one entry into heaven. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." verse 6. There aren't many ways into heaven, there aren't many other saviors. The Bible says there's only one. Christ alone, through His death and resurrection, paid the price for our sins. And only through Him can we gain entry into the presence of the Father. Have you put your trust in Jesus? So, when Jesus comes again He will take you to be with Him evermore.
  • Tina Hall on John 14:1 - 13 years ago
I think we all should trust in the Lord more, and not worry so much about what others do or say.
We have no control over that. Jesus wants us to trust in him, and he will see us thru no matter
what circumstance we are in. He wants us to
rejoice in him, and know that he has prepared a
place for us to go to in Heaven to be with him
as a beliver when we die, or we are caught up
in the rapture. We should trust him more.
We should never give up, even though the enemy, Satan, tries to destroy us everyway he can.

ydnick...im a baby in christ im going to explain it to you the way the spirit tells me...he that have seen me have seen the father...god the father needed someone without sin to bear all sins for mankind no one on earth was worthy enough so he been so great came into the world in the flesh as god the son witout sin he did not sin once growing up as a human being. knowing the pain he would feel on the cross as god the son he went to the garden to pray to god the father to let this cup pass from him even though he know why he came in the 1st place and that wasnt the only time he prayed to god the father he was setting an example for us to follow...you ask how can god be in heaven and on erath at the same time..im asking you how great is god? who made the heavens and the earth? right now he's with me do you think he's with you? if yes how did he do that cause he walks with me and talks to me each and every single day and im sure im not the only one that he has bless when does he get time to bless other people if he's with me day in and day out....that is to show you he can do things that looks impossible to us but with him all things are possible..be bless

how could god be on the earth and in heaven at the same time? who was Jesus praying to in the garden of gethsemane before the died? the verse is matthew 26:39. he said in that verse not my will but your will? who was he talking to himself? you need to learn grammer. Jesus did not pray to himself to ask for help. he prayed to god for help. he if he was god he never would have had to pray for help.why in john 14:28 did Jesus say the father is greater than i am if he is God? That would be like me saying my father is greater than i am but i am my father. who were the christians praying to if God was a man on earth. who were the christians worshiping in heaven if Jesus was on the earth? why would Jesus say to Worship God instead of saying worship me because I am god. get your grammer on.
