Genesiss 3:8-And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
God expected to find them, but they were hiding - meaning this followship happened regularly but not anymore for sins has separated friends. Amos 3:3
-Due to the sins committed in Genessi 3:6
6, And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat
-Man died spiritually and at the end he also died physical form the world remembers the wages of sins is death and That followership which we once had with God in the beginning was repaired at the cross by Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. in John 3:16
Its written in John 14:17
17,even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Now you see, from here unless you repent of your sins at the cross and accept Jesus Christ in your heart then Jesus Christ who is the way the truth and life will connect you to the father. the best term here is if you abide in Him.HE will abide in you the man.
as it is written in JOHN 14:23
23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
as we have seen if we love Jesus Christ then we will obey and keep his words and in keeping them the father will love us The trinity will come and followship with us.
Now note this alot of people are still searching for purpose in life but those who have given their lives to Jesus Christ the son of the living God have a purpose in life which is to followship with GOD.
ROMANS 8:14
I have stated starting this series my dissection of the Book of John. It is an excellent examination of the concept of Predestination of those the Father has given to the Son; and such facts about who is given or revealed the truth about Christ. Stating such a fact; however doesn't give those in the "hyper grace" camp as well as others license to skip over repentance as a necessary element of saving faith. God does grant repentance ( 2 Timothy 2:25 also in Acts). Perhaps it would be fair to say that it is much like salvation as a free gift; certainly it is part of what causes one to be saved. Again; avoiding the consequences of sin like Judas Iscariot did shows worldly sorrow; what Peter did was weep bitterly as He offended one that He deeply loved. ( 2 Cor. 7:10).
I also feel that it is very dangerous if we are in a Christian environment from our youth and don't really have a time that we can see a change in realizing we had been called from death to life. This is not to say that we should place all our cards on the validity of a one time statement; even if valid as we may discover that our hearts weren't really converted at first when He reveals Himself at a later time. God is beyond time and space; but if one IS to become a believer He will wait until that happens in THIS lifetime. That of course brings up questions as to why God holds back judgment for the lost; more cans of worms than I care to open at present. Our confidence; of course is to be in the finished work of Christ; but nonetheless we are HIs temple so to speak (see also 2 Corinthians 4:7). The Spirit must take residence to be truly in the faith ( John 14:23). This; as the verse indicates shows the Father active and present along with the Son of God.
Truly; one of the strongest indicators that we know the Lord is the fear of the Lord resides in us. Proverbs 9:10 is hardly isolated regarding that fact. His life should draw others to Christ in us
I have seen currently individuals who are knowledgeable in the Word and who seem to love the Lord who argue that we can lose our salvation. I don't feel comfortable fellowshipping where that is the standard doctrine; although the conviction level for holiness seems commendable to me. Nonetheless; the enemy an cause havoc for those who would be in despair and perhaps self destructive over that type of message. Equally as concerning are those who are allowing certain sins; particularly those who support a lifestyle of sin in the church today holding onto what many call a "hyper grace" mentality. First and foremost; of course we are to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith and DO something about it if not. ( 2 Cor. 13:5). Those who are His; of course willl hear His voice ( John 10:16) and be taught by God ( John 6:45).
Blessed assurance is something which must transcend this world; and our love for God supersede any other affections and loyalties for us to be a true disciple of God ( Matt. 10:37-38). If we love Him we will obey His commandments ( John 14:15); this is a verse I have repeated quite often lately on this site.
I would make a basic comment at present that those who are His sense His love; and also recognize that when being chastised ( Hebrews 12:6). When the Spirit is grieved ( Eph 4:30-31) a true follower of Christ will be aware of it; after all He has made His (actually OUR) abode in these individuals ( John 14:23). It is also true that those who are unbelievers cannot love God but they certainly can fear Him. In today's society; however it is likely that such boldness in rebellion in the world is tied into the lack of fear of the Lord in churches. The compromised Gospel and lifestyles today I will tackle in future posts.
The book of John is something I have already covered sometime last year in detail as to the many examples proving Predestination.
The Word of God teaches us in 1 Cor. 2:14 that the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.
This is why those communicating their messages in this 'forum' so often use the word 'discerning' while the 'Word of God' is not of any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20). This is why it also teaches; that anyone that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man ( 1 Cor. 2:15).
Please remember, the words from the 'Word of God' are according to the 'Spirit of Truth' ( John 14:17). Furthermore, the Spirit of truth cannot be received by this world ( John 14:17) as this whole world has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9).
Please study the 'Word of God' and learn of the difference between the 'natural' and the 'spiritual' body ( 1 Cor. 15:44) and how and by whom this whole world has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9).
Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).
It is God's will for all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth ( 1 Timothy 2:4), but not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven ( Matthew 7:21).
Many will say unto me that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? ( Matthew 7:22).
And then will I profess unto them I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity ( Matthew 7:23). If you would like to know who by nature your Father is, may we suggest you read John 8::43-45.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
There's only one God.
John 10:30.
John 14:7-9.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, HAVE I BEEN SO LONG TIME WITH YOU, AND YET HAST THOU NOT KNOWN ME, PHILIP? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
1 Corinthians 15:28.
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.
This is after the Millennium reign, Then he will establish the eternal reign.
Then he will return to his place where he was in the beginning,
( back to the God head)
"That God may be all in all"
Who raised Christ from the dead?
John 10:17-18.
Romans 8:11.
Act 13:30.
Answer; The triune God. "Elohm".
If Jesus is the body of the Father but yet a separate God as one claims. That contradicts what is written in scripture.
Ephesians 4:4-6.
"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
We're servants and worshipers of that one God. Now and for ever.
God will share his glory with no man.
Isaiah 42:8.
Christ has already come the second time, he came when you and he were resurrected TOGETHER.
He is the kingdom of God, you became a joint heir of that kingdom by being resurrected together.
The kingdom is WITHIN YOU"
Colossians 1:27 .... this mystery (of the resurrection) ...... Christ in you .....
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the SECOND TIME (as the SPIRIT of TRUTH), without SIN (unbelief) unto SALVATION.
John 14:6 .... I am the way, the TRUTH, and the LIFE (your his body): no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1 Corinthians 15:54 .... Death is swallowed up in VICTORY ......
1 Corinthians 15:54 .... this mortal SHALL PUT ON immorality .....
1 Timothy 6:16 ... Christ ONLY hath IMMORTALITY, dwelling in the light (of the Father) ....
1 Corinthians 15:49 As we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
I Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it (the new creation in Christ) a body as he has seen fit, and to every SEED his OWN BODY.
God Bless you.
John 14:9 shows how Christ rather emphatically questions Philip as to his compression of God the Father when in the presence of His Son. This verse is by no means isolated where He states what seems to be obvious as to His inevitable death on the cross; as well as His divinity. Matthew 16:17 shows what seems to be an incredible swing in Peter's life from supernatural wisdom from the Spirit; to being influenced by Satan himself just a few verses later in Matthew 16:23 when Jesus says "get behind me Satan."
Mark 10:33 as well as an equivalent passage in Luke and others in Mark 9 make it clear that Jesus repeatedly explained His fate.
This should serve as a warning to us; along with of course Peter's prophesied betrayal and denial of Christ (which BTW also was what the other disciples did; without making such a bold proclamation of loyalty as Peter did).
The Pharisees; clearly should have known who Christ was; as well as those residents of Chorazin; Bethsaida and Capernium ( Matt. 11:21-22) whose judgments were to be greater than Sodom and Gomorrah who apparently would have repented seeing such things. This is; to say the least a sobering statement. Clearly apart from Divine Revelation we all are blinded.
Romans 5:7-8 shows how although someone may die for a righteous man; for wicked rebels as us who would want to do so?
But the Father from the beginning had some who would be called His own; and chosen (see John 6:37 and many other verses in John on the subject of Predestination also some of my segments on that subject in discussing John).
As the Spirit strives against the flesh ( Galatians 5:17); we realize that we don't love God in our old nature once the Spirit takes residence. We understand not only consequences of our sin; but that we don't want to grieve the Spirit ( Ephesians 4:30). It must be love which leads us to obedience ( John 14:15). Apart from grace our efforts are in vain.
He was talking to his generation, Jesus was talking about after the resurrection, like the day of Pentecost. 2000 years ago Jesus has been coming to everyone that invites Him into their lives.
Jesus is coming to you as the Comforter, as the Holy Spirit. He was God in the flesh, an individual to be the perfect sacrifice for sin on the cross, and then come back in spirit form to dwell in you! You are God's (Dwelling Place in Greek for mansion) You are the temple that he's building. Read these scriptures again
John 14:16-21
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Luke 17:20,21 I dare you to read these scriptures
Jesus is saying I'm going to dwell in you and I'm going to reach the world through you.
Don't separate Jesus from God or the Holy Spirit, they are one spirit and he is risen in you! So stop waiting for Jesus, stop waiting for heaven, Heaven is spirit! what is spirit? It's the fruit of the spirit, Love Joy Peace and a sound mind! Who's mind? The mind of Christ! Jesus Said I have no place to lay my head! Put on the mind of Christ! You can have heaven right hear right now while hell breaks lose all around you, God didn't give you the spirit of fear but of love joy peace it's Jesus! Christ In You! that's the mystery of your salvation.
To add to your response I would agree that Jesus will return coming on the clouds, but also, and most importantly, He will return bodily, not as a spirit, but with flesh and bones as He showed to Thomas. There will be a difference in that His human body will be glorified, as Paul discovered on the road to Damascus, shining blindingly. But we will welcome His return and glorification as we, too, will be changed, our bodies, whether resurrected or alive at the time, will be glorified.
Jesus not only received a glorified human body upon His resurrection, but when He ascended to heaven He received back from the Father His eternal glory as the only begotten Son of God, in whom the fullness of deity dwells eternally. ( John 14:7, 10;
John 17:5) So, when He returns He will be most glorious. We will be glorified as humans, but He will be glorified as being both human and divine. How amazing it will be to behold Him in all of His glory and see Him face to face!

The Living God, who is the Saviour of all men,
I know many see these verses as you, but if I may just give another understanding of John 14:1-6, we have had discussions and I think we respect each other, and both love the word and the truth. This was just before Jesus was going to be crucified and He said, "I go and prepare a place for you". In verse 2 He said in my Father's house are many mansions.
The Greek word translated mansion is #3438 monai, meaning; an abiding dwelling place and this word is only used twice here and in John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Abode is the Greek word monia.
When Adam sinned God could not dwell in man, Jesus was on His way to shed His blood and undo what the first Adam did so that God could again through the Holy Spirit dwell in man. John 14:17 Romans 8:11 1 John 4:15. In these verses, we can see the place prepared for us by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
I understand you look to be taken to heaven and I am just putting something out there that you may study. Jesus said I will come again, He was on earth when He said I will come again.
God bless,
RLW
Jesus told us to store up our treasures in heaven where they cannot be spoiled or destroyed. ( Mt. 6:19-21)
So, heaven is our eternal home with Jesus, the Father, and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Hebrews tells us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus the Author and Finisher (perfector) of our faith.( Heb. 12:2)
And here in Colossians Paul says to set our hearts on things above. We are to be heavenly minded in this earthly life.
Jesus said He goes to the Father to prepare a place for us so that where He is we will also be. ( john 14:2)
How good it is to know that our life in eternity will be so perfect!
How precious is all that we have in Christ. Our inheritance is beyond what we could ever ask of think!
So we press on to the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.
This verse reminds us that our lives are as it were ..."seated in heavenly places.".. ( Eph. 2:6). That considers who is our advocate "ever interceding for us" ( Heb. 7:25). As I have pointed out in previous posts; the sheer magnitude of the physical splendor of heaven as great as it is is dwarfed by its Creator. Surely Satan would want to covet all of heaven's grandeur for himself; as indicated in descriptions of his exalted place as worship leader in Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14. As great as the pattern in heaven that God Himself mandated to be followed in the earthly temple or representation of the heavenly tabernacle; it is His presence which is always preeminent. This is why although Jesus Himself was God in the flesh He was not possessing beauty in the way man would desire Him ( Isaiah 4:2). This is why such a bloody sacrifice could be something that actually pleased the Father ( Isaiah 53:10). So we need to both die to our old ways and all the things that attract the five senses above our desire to glorify God.
Much of the Kingdom of God has to do with obedience out of love ( John 14:15). Learning to love the ways of another is much like a woman who was betrothed and prepares for the marriage as scriptural parables as well as in some ways the Song of Solomon may indicate at a deeper level. We don't learn to love someone by cheating (such as illicit relations before marriage); or by focusing on vain actions that promote our own agenda. Service now certainly is a good way to get to know God's ways as well as prepare for heaven. This is utterly devoid of meaning to the unregenerate. Dying to ourselves is complete once we pass from this life; it is up to us to conform to His image or cling on to our old ways; the former brings great reward and is proclaimed and known by others; the latter brings great loss for us and eternal rewards as well. Let us do it now!

Of course you will have people get excited about this, twist scripture, and try to convince you that its not important- that was the Bible says isn't what it says. Is the goal of Christianity to obey Jesus or to disobey? I would think those who genuinely love Jesus would just do what He says. John 14:15.
It was important enough that Jesus himself was baptized and told everyone else to. I would see only upside in doing it and a downside in stubbornly refusing to. Another question worth asking is would you ask Jesus the same question, even though He already said to do it? Hope that is helpful. God bless.
Our childlike faith should never be calloused by the weight of the world. That being said; there is no escaping the fact that we are in mortal bodies which are perishing daily such as 2 Corinthians 4:16 indicates. We have treasure in earthen vessels; though ( 2 Cor. 4:7). There is a healthy abandon which should accompany a mature faith; these aren't needing to be mutually exclusive states of mind and practice. We see those in the parable of the seeds and the sower who have immediate joy but no root in themselves ( Luke 8:13). We also have warnings to the Ephesian church in Revelation about leaving their first love ( Rev. 2:4).
The difference in these two verses is those who have an emotional reaction to the Gospel not rooted in faith; and in the second case those who had a true love in Christ and followed all the right doctrines but didn't continue to have love of Christ as their prime motivation. If we love Him we obey Him ( 1 John 5:2; John 14:21). Love of proper doctrine; law and other protocols should be the offshoot of that love but it must keep a root in a living; active faith else it slips into a religious set of moral dogmas that seeks to either squelch the flesh or brings an attitude of pride and self righteousness to the ecclesiastical leadership that leads to a dead religious set of rituals. Eventually; of course that leads to the tendancy of additional rituals in a Pharisaical manner if we are not careful.
Avoiding dead fellowship is no excuse for a permanant retreat from fellowship; however. Especially as we see the day of His return drawing near we are told NOT to forsake the assembly of one another ( Heb. 10:25). Our identities should be seen as adopted sons and daughters and being part of that heavenly assembly ( Heb. 12:1). There is a knowledge that the earth and heaven must be remade; all creation is groaning and will be until that Day comes ( Romans 8:22). Satan's accusations show us earth is not our home.
John 14:6 kjv
Read Ephesians 4:32. When we truly are saved, we become a new creation in Christ. The old is passed away. We are forgiven. As Christians we are to be doers of the word. Jesus said in John 14:15, if you love me, keep my commandments.

1John 4:20-21
The Lord is my Shepherd.
I am lifting you all up in prayer today. Jesus Christ is coming soon. We are living in the last of the last days, and hell is a real place of torment. Eternal. I don't want to go there and I don't want you to go there.

So let Jesus work in your heart and life. No one can put Him there. You must see your need for Him and repent (stop sinning, stop hating, forgive, stop rejecting Christ) REPENT of YOUR own evil deeds, ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness.
Matthew 6:14-15
He paid for our sin with His life's blood when He was crucified on the cross. His gift of forgiveness is free. Please accept it. Repent and be baptized in water and the Holy Spirit.
HE IS COMING BACK SOON. If YOU are not ready, the Bible says you will be eternally lost. I would not wish Hell on my worst enemy. No, on the contrary. I want to spend eternity loving and worshiping Jesus Christ together with them.

May the Lord richly bless you today in Christ Jesus!

Reminds me of John 14:3.
God bless you.
May we suggest you search the words 'a world deceived' an learn how you may know the difference between the 'natural' and the 'spiritual' body ( 1 Cor.

PROPHECY:
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit WITHIN YOU, and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep MY JUDGEMENTS, and DO THEM.
You DIED with Christ, YOU WERE RAISED with Christ, this is the POWER OF THE RESURRECTION.
You are now the BODY of Christ, everything you say, will to do, or do is CAUSED by the spirit of TRUTH and LIFE WITHIN YOU.
Very FEW BELIEVE God's word.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God (spirit) which WORKETH IN YOU, both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery .....Christ in you .....
Matthew 7:14 ...narrow is THE WAY .....FEW there be that FIND IT ....
John 14:6 ....I AM THE WAY .......
1 Corinthians 12:27 ...Ye are the BODY OF CHRIST .....
FEW BELIEVE God's word.
Psalms 82:6 I (God himself) HAVE SAID, ye are gods, the children of the most high.
Your the dwelling place of GOD, your are doing the very will of God 24/7.
The question is? Do you believe God's word?
God Bless YOU, as our Father brings us to TRUTH.
Just one other thing you mentioned, "when we say that the Spirit goes away with the church we don't really mean that the Spirit goes, this can not occur since the Spirit fills the universe, but we mean that the specific ministry of the Spirit in the church as a guide, a helper etc pauses to exist."
Would you be stating here, that at the Church's Rapture, the Holy Spirit still 'continues' on in the Earth & affecting the hearts of men as He did pre-Rapture? This is worth considering as I've tended to follow the line, 'that if the Church goes, then the Holy Spirit must go as well, as it was for this reason alone that He was sent by Jesus to seal, baptize & fill the believer'. John 14:16,17 & John 16:7 seems to indicate that the reason for the sending of the Holy Spirit was for the Church's inception & existence. That through the Church, the Gospel would go out, the testimony of Jesus would be manifest, & the forces of darkness would be held at bay.
In the OT, the prophets & those of God's people were inspired or energized to utter God's Message, but the Spirit was not given as He has come now to dwell in the Church (of people, not building). Therefore, the Spirit's coming is for the Church, & through her He will reprove the unbelieving world "of sin, and of righteous, & and of judgement". If then the Church is removed prior to the Great Tribulation, what would be the need of the Holy Spirit in the World? The reason He was sent, was for the Church & their testimony & the reason for His departure was for the 'god of this world' to have free course without anymore restraint; justifying the full Wrath of God to fall on all who reject Him. Would there be any Scripture or reasoning from the Scriptures, to show that the Spirit must continue here, after the Church is gone? I'd be interested to think deeper on this. Blessings.
