Hi Texsis. One can understand why Paul wrote this oft-quoted "to the Jew first", as he longed for his people who waited for the Messiah, would also like him, come to know that the Scriptures indeed were being fulfilled before their very eyes in Jesus ( Romans 10:1,2).

And so it was, that God had not forgotten or cast away His people ( Romans 11:1), but that the Messiah would be appointed & sent by God to Israel for their salvation - and what did they do? John 1:11, "He came unto his own, and his own received him not". Jesus saw their hard stubborn hearts, yet could still weep for them ( Luke 19:41,42). And as you wrote & implied, not only did they reject Jesus, ridiculed Him & crucified Him, but the day would come when they would recognize Him.

Paul wrote in Romans 11:12,15, "Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?" For now, by their rejection, the Jews have failed to know & appropriate the immeasurable Love & Grace of God for them and by their "fall & diminishing", the Gentiles have been granted salvation through the preaching of the Gospel. So, if by their casting away, the rest of the world can find reconciliation through Jesus' Sacrifice, Paul exhibits great exhilaration, that when Israel finally turns to Christ, it would be akin to a resurrection from death & corruption to a glorious new life.

And those of Israel who come to salvation, through much suffering now & particularly in the time of Great Tribulation, will also join the saved from the Gentiles ( Galatians 3:28,29). Yet there will be much rejoicing because Elect Israel is truly the "beloved for the fathers' sakes" ( Romans 11:28: Elect, for the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, & Israel). So, it was always "the Jew first", but all who are IN Christ Jesus are special & precious.

Yes, of course he would. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

God promises to forgive any sin, there may still be consequences, but God is a merciful God and will forgive you. Praise the Lord for his unending mercy!

The sons of God, was and are, (since the beginning of time) believers. From the first mention in Genesis 6 to now the sons of God means believers on Earth. Even in Job, the sons of God does not mean angels. See Satan was already cast out of Heaven, so there was no way he could go there to appear before God. So in Job, it was believers that had come together to worship and present themselves before God. Satan came among them and saw Job and spoke to God about Job, a son of God. Then first mention in the New Testament with John 1:12 is talking about believers. It doesn't change at all in the Bible as far as my study has gone on this. My Bible college would back me up on this belief as well.

From what you've written, I'm assuming that this person you mentioned sees that God & Jesus must be two distinct persons, since one is Spirit & the other Flesh (i.e. as a regular human being). So if this is the case, then the Divine & the human cannot unite, refuting the belief that they are one, or united in any way.

In the first instance, I would direct you to Matthew 1:18-25, which speaks of this 'Divine Birth'. The question one should ask from this passage is: 'how did this Baby named Jesus, come to be born into the world?' Your contact could well say, that He was born as any human baby is born, by human fertilization, development in the womb, & then entrance into the world. But look at verse 18: before Joseph could have sexual intimacy with his wife, Mary was found with child, not because of any unfaithfulness by her to Joseph, but that God had placed in her this Divine Seed by the Power of His Holy Spirit. And then in verse 23, Jesus' Birth was in fulfillment of prophecy that a virgin would miraculously bring forth a Son & He would be called (i.e. by his title), Emmanuel. And this Name means, God with us.

This passage alone should convince anyone that this birth was an extraordinary one. There has never been any person born into the world that would come as Jesus did, because Jesus' Birth was directly executed by God: God taking His Word, sending His Word into the World by clothing Himself (God's Word) with the flesh of man ( John 1:1-14) - for the purpose of sacrifice for our sins. Yes, Jesus was fully Human as we are, but we are the product of our parents - Jesus came from God's Own Person & not from humans ( John 17:5, "...O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was"). So yes, Jesus was "the only begotten" & also called "the Son of Man" which indicates His Humanity, but the question, 'what was Jesus' origin, given the Scriptures about His Divine Nature & His Works?'

Friends, you who are fermented on the Scriptures, do you not hear what the letters has to say?

Jesus was made like unto us in all things, & is our Example, its recorded in Scriptures John 7:15 was not taught by man, but taught & lead by God Spirit John 5:19 2Cor 5:19,20 Rom 8:11 & was made 1Cor 15:45 to all that will receive Him in Spirit.

John the Baptist, was in the wilderness unto the day of his appearing; Luke 1:80 it is written Luke 3:2 John 1:33 the Spirit of God came to him, taught him & empowered him for the life & ministry chosen for him from the foundation of the world.

The same principle applies to us this day, God has not change, He works the same way He always has & that's by His Spirit.

As I stated previously the Scripture true glory & honor are they give us a true testimony of Christ & point to Him who did return as He promised, & that in Spirit. The Scriptures are very profitable indeed when honor for which they were given forth. The NT is the administration of the Spirit 2Cor 3:8

Paul says Philippians 1:19 The Spirit of Christ is what lead him & taught him all that we read of in his writing. He counted all the knowledge & understanding that he previously attain to & live as Dung, Philippians 3:5-8 compare to the experiential knowledge John 5:17 he received from Holy Spirit. 1John 4:6 do you hear Him?

This reminds me of John 6:60 when

many actually stopped following Jesus that day he said here in the Gospel of John 6:48-58.

Jesus three times identifies Himself as that spiritual bread ( John 6:35, 48, 51).

And twice He emphasizes faith (a spiritual action) as the key to salvation:

"My Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life" (verse 40)

and "Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life" (verse 47).

Jesus then compares and contrasts Himself to the manna that Israel had eaten in the time of Moses: "Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die" John 6:49-50.

The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life" ( John 6:63). Those who misunderstood Jesus and were offended by His talk about eating His flesh and drinking His blood were stuck in a physical mindset, ignoring the things of the Spirit. They were concerned with getting another physical meal, so Jesus uses the realm of the physical to teach a vital spiritual truth.

At the Last Supper, Jesus gives a similar message.

We are to proclaim the Lord's death until he comes"

1 Corinthians 11:26.

Jesus was speaking metaphorically about His flesh and blood and hold that the bread and wine are symbolic of the spiritual bond created with Christ through faith.

Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'" ( Matthew 4:4, quoting Deuteronomy 8:3). The implication is that the bread is God's Word and that is what sustains us. Jesus is called the Word of God who came to earth and was made flesh ( John 1:14). The Word of God is also the Bread of Life ( John 6:48).

Here's the scope and purpose of John's writings

In John 20:30-31. "Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

John's purpose was to introduce the readers of his gospel to Jesus Christ, establishing Who Jesus is (God in the flesh) and what He did, all with the sole aim of leading them to embrace the saving work of Christ.

JOHN 1:1

The Greek word translated "Word" in this passage is Logos.

In that day they understood the usage of the term. Word/Logos.

John is introducing Jesus with a word or a term that both his Jewish and Gentile readers would have been familiar with.

John is in a sense pointing them back to the Old Testament where the Logos or "Word" of God is associated with the personification of God's revelation.

In the Old Testament the "word" of God is often personified as an instrument for the execution of God's will.

John is pointing them back to the Old Testament.

The term Logos brought forth the idea of a "mediating principle" between God and the world in that day.

But John goes beyond the familiar concept of Logos that his Jewish and Gentile readers would have had as a mediating principle and uses Logos to present Jesus as God's perfect revelation of Himself in the flesh.

In John 14:8-9 we see the word of God in the flesh representing what the accurate Logos/Words of the old testament said who would come.

This is what Jesus is telling Phillip.

I'll share a personal testimony of my experiences with God, how He open my understanding of these things that I'm writing of 1st He showed me, in the beginning with Adam & Eve, all their knowledge, & understanding that they had was what He, God Himself had given them in their fellowshipping together, they had no other thoughts, passions, desires, endeavors etc, but what was from Him. Until the devil show up & introduce another train of thought, twisting & perverting God's own words in doing so. In man obedience to him, another seed was implant in mankind heart & corrupted him.

Then Word of the Lord came to me & ask me to trust this still small Voice within conscience, I responded I couldn't do that, I didn't trust it, it always lead me to deny myself, asking me to do things contrary to my own will, which at the time I was unaware that it was the Grace of God appearance within me, the Cross. Titus 2:11-14 2Cor 4:10,11

Reading the Quaker's writing, specifically from 1646-1700 they all pointed to the John 1:9 & Titus 2:11 that appears to all mankind, it was in man, but not of man, but of God. The still small Voice that admonishes when, I thought of or did something evil & reprove me for it, at the same time if I gave thought to Him, He would show me what was right & good to do in my everyday ordinary experiences in life conversations, relationships, past time activities, what to deny or cling to in thoughts, words or deeds. As I consider what they spoke of, it align up with the Scriptures, sound reasoning & human experience, we all have these spirits operations working within us.

He further open me, I began practicing being still & quiet before the Lord & waiting upon Him, during one of these exercises, He opened my understanding concerning these 2 seeds within me, You remember the cartoon where there would be an angel on the right shoulder & a devil represent on the left shoulder of the cartoonist, the angel would encourage him to do what is right & good, & the devil influence him to what was evil & bad. Well this is what actually goes on within our hearts & who we obey is whom we serve & who temple we are, I always thought it was me, myself thinking these thoughts whether good or bad, I did not comprehend that I was just a vessel to be move & animated by these two great powers of the universe. There's no me, myself & I, it either Light or darkness animating us.

After this revelation I was convinced & start exercising this Word of Righteousness in the discerning between good & evil within. The heart is the birthing room of thoughts, as they are birth & brought forth we become conscious & aware of them. Thus Paul says 2Cor 10:3-6 Ephesians 6:12

Here is where God works out our salvation. Hebrews 12:6-11

For 27 yrs I attend church, Assembly of God, Baptist, Full Gospel, Church of Faith, etc; not one of them spoke specifically concerning these things

I searched, fasted, studied the letter, all that was available thru man in this present day Christianity. Nothing could satisfy me, set me free or remove the veil from the eyes of my heart. God is our Father, in my heart thinking I should know Him like I know my natural father, this didn't become a reality until God lead me to the writing of these Quakers of the 17th Century & as time pass & I continue to grow in Grace, the possession of this reality becomes more clearer & precious in my eyes, Blessed Him for His tender mercies & longsuffering love toward me.

In this comment, you make a distinction between worshiping the "church" and worshiping Christ. And I totally agree with that statement.

But you also make a distinction between worshiping Christ and worshiping the Bible. The Bible is very clear that every word in the Bible is the word of God himself, ie. Christ himself.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

So please explain what you mean by that statement. Are you somehow separating Christ from his Word, the Bible?

I've mention it earlier, but feel the need to reinstate this again, it's the writing of the Quakers specifically from 1646 to 1700, they arose in England during the later in of the Reformation.

The foundation of their teaching is the Light of God is in every human being John 1:9 & if given heed too, would lead them out of darkness into Light of Life. Once I was convince of this, by the Witness of Truth within, the Scriptures & sound reasoning, then in simplicity & sincerity of heart I started paying attention to His motions within me.

You mention the Ethiopian eunuch, in this story is a lovely example of the Spirit guidance, Philip was instructed to arise & go, he went by revelation not knowing at that moment what he was going for, Acts 8:29 Holy Spirit further open his understanding by revelation, then he preached to the eunuch by revelation. You can be sure that Philip pointed him to the Grace of God within him to be his teacher as he went back to his own country.

Peter, by revelation went to Cornelius house, not knowing what he would speak, but went as he was commanded by Holy Spirit, the Lord by revelation open up his understanding, extending His salvation to the Gentiles. & the Grace of God took over the work of salvation, in their everyday ordinary experiences in life. In conversation, past times activities, relationships etc, separating the precious from the vile in their heart.

Not all were blind as Paul mentions in Romans, but noticed Jesus says this before they rejected him.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."

I don't hold quite the view you do on the mystery was salvation going out the Gentiles,

I believe the inability to receive the cross and resurrection as God's redemption plan is what made it a mystery.

And it was a mystery to them "The Jews" that that was the redemption plan for them as well.

Worshipping in truth and in spirit was made possible in this new covenant at the resurrection by way of believe and be baptized by the Holyspirit.

Christ put his spirit IN us to receive the thing of God. Jews and Gentiles.

The Apostles were told to wait, after they recieved, they were sent out to the world.

He kick Lucifier out of heaven when he sinned, He put Adam & Eve out of paradise when they sinned, He kick the nation of Israel out of the promise land when they continue sinning. Do you really believe He's going to allow anyone into His holy Kingdom that's a sinner? Especially now that He has sent His Son, if He was going to allow sin into heaven, Jesus could have avoided that horrible humiliation & vicious suffering at the hands of ungodly men.

It sounds like you are assuming God has limitations based on your human logic. I think your logical assumptions are flawed, however.

Isn't God big enough to choose to know or not know things? God can also change His mind. He made all things and is powerful enough to do all things including choose to operate on our time frame or dimension or not. You're assuming that God can't do that, and so you're assuming that God must have that limitation while also claiming that he has no limitations. Doesn't your assumption contradict itself?

John 1:1-3 says the Word (Jesus [verse 14]) is God, has always existed, and made all things? If you believe the Bible why would you not believe this verse?

Isaiah 45:7 - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."

I'm having difficulty reconciling the above with 1 John 1:5 - "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." And also, Proverbs 8:13 - "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil............."

When combining the verses, it appears that God hates the evil He created and that He created darkness out of something not in Him at all.

As I stated, "but if we don't (attain sinlessness) in our lifetime, then we not only never had Christ abiding in us...simply because we have committed even that one sin"; & you wrote, "It is not just about "one sin". It's about a lifetime of continual sin"; I was given to understand that 1 John 3:6,9 showed that abiding in Christ meant that NO sin would be committed, not "a lifetime of continual sin".

Whereas I referred to the Greek & Giannis also gave his take on it, refuting the belief that if we are truly His then no sin would be found in us (for that is what the Scripture states, "doth NOT commit sin". i.e. an impossibility to sin since Christ is in us & we in Him). Not "a habitual repeating of sin" here, for no sincere true believer would ever find delight in such a state, but committing just ONE sin - this is what we're dealing with here as pertaining to the Scriptures.

Then you referred to 1 John 1:9, which is a verse I fully accept because we still sin, yet finding forgiveness, with a determination to put that sin(s) aside. But that verse applies to those overtaken by a sin - it wouldn't apply to any who have no sin, as 1 John 3:6,9 apparently implies. Therefore, I think that your quote, "It is not just about "one sin" - It's about a lifetime of continual sin", may be what's causing us confusion. Are you thinking of someone speaking lies, committing adultery, etc. continuously without repentance or restraint? Or, are you including those three examples I shared when the Spirit alerts one that sin is committed when an isolated persistent thought or feeling arises, yet with no evidence of an outward expression or tantrum? I deal with sin as it surfaces but I won't live in a false spiritual bubble trying to believe that I will never fall into some sin & that sinless perfection is a present experience. Yes, we must strive to deal with sin & be holy but to believe that sin will never rear its ugly head, is beyond the whole biblical message. Blessings.

The Bible makes it clear that all sin and it says those who claim they don't sin are lying. I think this gets confused with God wiping away and "not remembering" sin if (and only if) we're a genuine Christ follower.

Some believe that a force from God forces you to be sinless as a Christian and that you can just kick back and backslide because you're basically on spiritual autopilot. I believe the Bible debunks this. Even Paul, who was probably the best evangelist for Christianity in world history, admitted that he deeply struggled with sin and said he naturally doesn't want to do what is good, he's in a spiritual war with himself and his own flesh. This means that even for him there wasn't this autopilot force making him be sinless, he worked at it very, very hard, and he struggled and had enormous trials and obstacles and persecution. Some assume God is a genie in a bottle existing to serve and make you comfortable, but its closer to the opposite. God bless.

Matthew 12:43-45, "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation."

2. How do you explain the parable of the prodigal son.

In your answer you said that 1 John 1:8-9 is for unbelievers. But in 1 John 2:1 it says, "MY LITTLE CHILDREN, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin (because this will be eventually done sometime), we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

In verses 8-9 it says, "He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him." Pay attention that HIS BROTHER, then it says that i he hates him then he stays in darkness. That means that it is possible to hate his brother, hence doing a sin. And that is for a believer.

I see no contradiction in 1 John 1:8-9 as you state. Why? John is talking to unbelievers/unsaved. Please read from the beginning 1 John 1:1-10 in the entirety. John is talking to unsaved unbelievers currently walking in darkness. He is inviting them to join him and other Christians to walk with God. A key verse:

1 John 1:3

"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."

John states: That which we (Believers) have seen and heard declare we unto you (unbelievers) That ye (unbelievers) also may have fellowship with us (believers) and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

In 1 John he is telling those unbelievers walking in darkness 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." John was an unbeliever prior to being saved so he is telling them that we were all sinners and if we don't admit it - then the truth is not in us.

Once we accept Christ and we are saved we are supposed to walking with God and striving to follow Christ and this includes overcoming sin. Hence, the scripture 1 John 3:6 and 1 John 3:9 targeted at those who are Christians who are to be following God's commands. We can't follow God and the devil simultaneously, and this is what God is telling us. It's one or the other!

1 John 3:9, "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." Also 1 John 3:6, "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him."

BUT the above verses seem to be in contadiction to what is written earlier on, ie 1 John 1:8-9, "8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

So what is wrong? The former verses say that we dont (and can't) commit sin BUT the latter says that if we say we don't commit sins we are liars.

This is one of the few points in the Bible that the grk makes the difference. The grk doesn't say that we don't commit sin but we don't keep doing sins (in grk "amartano"), i.e. we don't live a sinful life, we don't stay in sinning. It is not a present continuous like we are continuously doing something but it shows that something is done regularly in the present without any stop. Since there is nothing respective in English, the nearest we can come to is the simple present that the KJV iuses. But it gives a different understanding.

You say "we have been join to Christ" only when we have been perfected by the working of Grace, which is indeed being dead unto sin, as you stated "Paul is saying recognize that sin has no rule/dominion over you" meaning you don't have to sin no more. For Grace teaches us the Cross, the power of God unto salvation. The body is just a vessel animated by the spirit & soul, become John 3:5 & Rom 12:1 & the body will be animated & be led by Holy Spirit. Yet for all this, it is safe to say the body of flesh still bare the consequences of the fall, but in the next life we're to received new bodies, like unto His glorious body. Halleluiah!

4.1 John 1:7-10; We all come into the world as miserable sinners Rom 3:23; but with the coming of Christ/Grace we don't have to stay that way, Rom 3:24; through the obedience of faith in the Light of His Countenance that shine in our heart, 7-10 explains the operations of Grace appearance, John 16:8 bringing these to seeds into judgment within conscience, if we then say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves ,make Him a liar & the Truth/Word is not engraft within us.
