"For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh." ( II Corinthians 4:11)
Some may ask why some believers seem to have so many trials and afflictions. Some may erroneously
say the person has sin in their life and they are being chastised.
Paul says we which live are always delivered unto death.
We are always delivered unto death for...for what reason? That the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Death is seen so that the life of Jesus also may be seen.
II Corinthians 2:14 says, "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
The "savour of his knowledge" is made manifest by us. God uses us to manifest the savour of his knowledge. What a priviledge that he uses us. That savour is victory over death. We can always triumph over death, hell, powers, principalities, etc. in Christ. The savour of God's knowledge is manifested by us in every place. Wherever we are, if we are delivered unto death, we are the ones God has chosen to manifest the savour of his knowledge in that place.
I think of God looking down upon earth and seeing all things, sees what place needs a savour of his knowledge. And then he sends one of his into that place. He then allows them to go unto death. In death, now the life of Christ is seen. There is now manifested the savour of God's knowledge in that place.
God makes manifest the savour of his knowledge "by us" "in every place."
What a mind blowing thought, God manifests this savour of his knowledge "by us." And not only "by us," but he does this "in every place."
We have victory because of Christ. On our side what gives us victory? Love is one. When you love, you don't want anything to break that bond. Truth is another, but love is what bonds it. You don't want to go against truth - because you love the truth, and because you love The Truth. You love the One who is Truth. Another is wisdom, you know anything against truth is death. You don't want death, you want to abide in life. Another is service, you don't want to not be the "by us" "in every place." That's love also, because you love God's service. Another is knowledge, you don't want to be joined to the power of the enemy, and lose the only power you have against it - power in Christ.
After Jesus rose from the dead, he spoke to Simon Peter. He said to him, "Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?" ( John 21:15)
Jesus said, "...son of Jonas..." We have no power to be victorious apart from Jesus Christ. Our fleshly nature, the son of man nature, the son of Jonas nature, the old man, the old nature, the nature we inherit from our parents, cannot give us victory; only by the Spirit of Christ can we be victorious.
"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
I must say that it is kind that people will take such time not only to express their thoughts, but take the time to even consider a prayer. I know that someone is praying and it may be the prayers of intervention that God hears. I appreciate your prayers and also I have a promising job interview next week. God knows I need this job. If I get this it will be his work clearly. All appears to be working in my favor and I must hold fast to his word and believe that if he can care for the birds…he can/will surely take care of me. Its challenging and I understand that thoughts of doubt will enter my mind, but I am reminding myself to be strong and hold fast to my faith, for what God has for me will be given at his appointed time. Dear God you know I need you more than ever right now.
Dear Gary; Previous responses have explained John 21 so well. I also am praying for more of our Lord's light in your experience. I am convinced that an active believing, receiving, and applying of God's grace is sometimes the key to more fully experience His goodness. When one finds a Bible promise or statement intended for believers in Jesus, lets place ourselves into it, saying "I receive that for mine", reread it, placing ourself into it, thank the Master for fulfilling his promise in us personally. As for blaming ourselves; lets also receive his cleansing that has already been paid for and is available now. 1 John 1:9, Romans 8:1-2, Ephesians 6:10-18, and many more. Jesus is the light of the world and abundance of life is available in Him for receiving and applying. May our Lord's grace and peace be unto you.
Garry, I am praying that yur situation change, But remember its on Gods time to change, not ours we want thimgs to come right now, But God knows whats best for us and your not alone he i s still there with you always, he will never leave u or forsake you,Just remember God Luvs you no matter what the circumstances are,Be Blessed and may God Continue 2 Bless you In your life, I was compelled 2 wrire u back, Cause i know my life is heckit also but i know in Gods time every thing gonna work out for those who luvs the Lord, see u later ;D
Joyce, Mary, and Trent. I often think why do people post things, but its the very reason that such can be a blessings because its moments when you may not be able to talk with someone that is close or anyone at all. I am greatful to your time and words that you chose to share with me. I do believe that God can make a way...I am just unsure if he will do it for me. I had to be honest with myself and ask what seeds have I planted and this very well could be my harvest. I have not been a bad person, but I have lied, and did somethings that I am not proud of to survive. I have also attempted to make good on my wrong, but it was planted. Someone once shared with me that God can leave you right in your mess to deal with it alone. I think I am there. When we are down and out we want and expect God to rescue us, but many of us...well I had to remember the choices that I made, and now the reactions I must deal with. I am beaten, broken, but I still have breath, and although I have thought of ending it all there is something that tells me to press forward, so with that I say a prayer and each day I awake I ask God to let this be the day that the chains break and doors open for me. If he has not left me, I pray that he gives me the strength to endure and the mindset to continue on.
Garry,Satan loves to make us doubt, it's his job and he's good at it, but he's also the master of lies, don't give up, this is when you need to square your shoulders back stand up and tell him it doesn't matter what I "feel" I'm gonna trust God anyway.Lovingly Joyce.
Hi Garry, thank you for sharing. We're praying for you and it has generated discussion on Facebook. To see it, click the link at the bottom of this page that says 'Read the Bible on Facebook' and you'll see. Please keep it up and keep trying. You aren't alone.
In response to Garry, Im praying that God will reveal to u what u are looking for,My understanding is Jesus showed up after his ressurection and the deciples didnt know it was him, Jesus comes too us and some times we dont reconize its him ,Just be patient Jesus will reveal what hes trying to tell you,Jesus Says Be Still and Know I am God, Be Patient and dontlose your faith ,Thats what the enemy wants you to do Wait on The Lord And Be Blessed What ever your Situation is ,Trust In Obey him and dont lose heart, Luv ya In Jesus Name my Brother ;D
I awoke this moring looking for an answer to that which I have now spent almost 9 months seeking. I am tired and after reading this I was hoping someone had commented on this so that I would have a better understanding of his word because what I now doubt that I truly understand what God wants or is saying to me. I am lost, confused and its sad, but I am losing my faith and my body is becoming numb. I ask God is he prepring me for death, for I have lost everything and there appears to be no light in my dark tunnel called life. I don't blame anyone for my situation but me. I have begged God for mercy and Grace...maybe I am all out. Maybe God is not listening to me. I pray that he will show up in my life, for I can't contiunue to live this way. If you have a good personal relationship with God please pray for me...
