why does jeremiah ch 51 sounds like it is talking about America I read it twice and again it still says America . ask me truth

No Baptism is not a requirement to be saved. We are told again and again in the Bible that the man who trusts in Christ has everlasting life immediately.
John 3:36 says:
"He that believeth on the Son HATH everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Same in John 5:24 and John 6:47. We are saved by grace well before we even touch the water.
And since grace means a free undeserved gift, any act or commitment intended to merit salvation is necessarily excluded ( Rom. 11:6). Understand all men are saved the same way, by believing on Jesus. That's why the thief on the cross could go to Heaven despite not being baptized.

Waunda, There are many verses throughout the Bible that say again and again that we are saved apart from works/acts of righteousness. This includes Baptism (water) which is an act of righteousness/work. Baptism, AFTER we are saved, is good, and if if you can be baptized then go ahead. But NOT to be saved. To be saved will always be "Whosoever Believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. You have God's word that child-like Faith in Jesus's finished work alone is sufficient. It's all Grace, 0 works. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God;" Eph. 2:8-9

In Hebrews we learn that God has given us "today". Previously man lived by seasons & times. Remember his will is for us to worship him. He gives us today to receive the gift of eternal life.To come for the fulfilment of abundant living. To enter into his discipleship & commandment of walking in his love. The only definition we find in the Bible for sin is that "sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4. The Word of God declares, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

John 3:5; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 2:41; This is just a few, but the baptism is a representation of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, which were buried with him in the grave, but he rose again and left our sins in the grave. Thus when we are baptized we are to become new creatures in Christ and the sinful person is dead 2 Corinthians 5:17...You cannot enter into the Kingdom of heaven as you currently are. We are born of a sinful nature, and unless we bury that in the blood of Christ, we will not enter heaven.

There are numerous changes. Take John 3:16 for one: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him (should not) perish, but have everlasting life. It originally said: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him "shall not" perish, but have everlasting life." Should and Shall are two different meanings. There are others but probably should be talked about on the right thread according to the right book.

As it relates to marriage, 1-12 above JESUS give good clarity about what JEHOVAH /GOD has written in stone, nevertheless in 2020 mankind still put away unlawfully. 43-48 JESUS mind remains on SALVATION for them and us. Example, JESUS warns them and us of consequences from 3 pleasurable sins that gladly walk us into hell if we allow them to. But JESUS walks us into SALVATION, see John 3:16-21, thereby EMPOWER us as in verse 50 above, especially with PEACE from GOD.

Barbara, there is severe punishment ( Hell Fire) if the person does turn from their evil ways, and turn to the living God and ask for forgiveness for their sins that they have committed, God is merciful and will forgive that person if they will turn to the Almighty God and repent of their evil ways.

The Bible is a book inspired by God. In the new testament, we learn through the scriptures how we are to be saved. We learn that we are to accept Jesus as the son of God, through his baptism by John the Baptist. For right after his baptism ( Matthew 3:17) A voice came from heaven saying "this is My beloved Son. In whom I am well pleased." Amen. Now, in ( John 3:3) We learn that in order for us to enter into the kingdom of God we are to be born again, just as Nicodemus was told by Jesus. We are to be born of water and the spirit, which directs us to be baptized. We will become new creatures, all things are new again, and through our faith in receiving the holy spirit we are to be saved. Amen.

The KJV hasn't changed. The word 'should' has remained more than 400 years since it's first printing. Here's proof: Link It's possible you didn't have a real KJV back when you memorized this verse. Well-meaning people including pastors may easily misquote verses like this thinking they are quoting verbatim, then assuming it is KJV. NASB uses the word 'shall', for example.

When I was young, John 3:16 read: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him Shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now it reads that whosoever believeth in Him Should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The NIV version reads Shall not Perish. Should Not and Shall not have two different meanings. Has anyone else noticed this?

Praying for you, its not a certain religion or church that saves you, its you excepting and believing with all your heart Jesus died on the cross rose in 3 days and is now in heaven at the right hand of God. As long as the church you choose preaches this, about heaven and hell, repentance and sin justice, the whole Bible not just the feel good stuff in the Bible. Hello, what is your take on blasphemy of the holy spirit? Luke 12:10, 1 John 3:6. Since Jesus warned his followers (Christians) to not blasphemy, and since Jesus said it's unforgivable, how do you reconcile this with the belief that a Christian can't lose salvation?

wayne..we all have some sort of sin in our lives..sin doesnt send people to Hell..not accepting the Atonement of what Jesus did is what sends people to Hell..wants we accept Jesus as our Savior then we can apply 1 john 3:9

WOW! because I understand from the above, JESUS return could have have been yesterday, but JESUS did not return yesterday so I pinch myself to remember oh, oh, JESUS is merciful, long-suffering,... ensuring all who will enter in SALVATION enter in before JESUS return as stated above. notice in these verses JESUS mind is on SALVATION for us, plus notice how JESUS teaches us about SALVATION using different wordings in this chapter, other chapters also, nevertheless the intent of JESUS HEART is always we become SAVED from the lake of fire. John 3:16-21 direct us to SALVATION thereby we are decide if we will accept SALVATION through JESUS.

Notice the words of jesus in verse 14, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28, 29. example: verse 14 ...the kingdom of heaven. verse 17... but if thou wilt enter into life. verse 21... and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. verse 23...the kingdom of heaven. verse 24...enter into the kingdom of god. verse 28...the throne of his glory. verse 29...shall inherit everlasting life. ....all these verses teach us how jesus taught the same thing or salvation in different ways. john 3:16-21 is another very good verse applicable to these verses.
