Acts 2:38/ John 3:5 same thing I wish the denominational church would understand what Jesus and His Church taught.

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5 Why is it most often the case, that as soon as someone starts going to Church and listening to the popular "teachers and preachers" of the day that they all seem to lose their ability to think intelligently anymore? Nicodemus was the Teacher of Israel: how did he NOT know these things that the Lord was talking about? Was he a good and devoutly religious man? Yes! Undoubtedly! But while he was all busy and tangled up in the "traditions and norms" of Judaism, he had no room left to be open to the Spirit's inspiration for giving him even the fundamental understanding of the WHOLE CONTEXT OF THE SCRIPTURES. Consequently he was at a total loss and unable to grasp when the Lord spoke of even the most basic of spiritual truths.

Bruce and Mild Bill; All you say is true, but I don't understand why you always seem to want to find fault with me and twist my words! I forgive you, but you are really hurting yourselves! As for "No one being able to come to Jesus except the Father draw him;" that the Father doesn't draw them is His condemnation of their unbelief; John 3:17-19. God calls constantly to men to consider their ways.

About Jn 3/5 jesus said we must be bornagain of the water and the spirit thats simply his WORD the h20 of God Thats y he is saying you are made clean by the WORD signifing that the water of God is his WORD which is SPIRIT, THERE IS ONLY 1 VALID BAPTISM WHICH IS BAPTISM OF THE H.G. When jesus told the woman at the well of living water thats the Word not h20 TH H.G. FELL ON THEM THAT HEARD TH WORD.

God, through Peter on the day of Pentecost, gives us the instruction to salvation. In Acts 2:37, the people asked, "What must we do?" to be saved Then Peter answers in verse 38, Repent "and" be baptized "everyone" of you in the Name of Jesus Christ not father, son, holy ghost for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Have you obeyed Acts2:37,38?

its salvation and believing in JESUS CHRIST the SON OF GOD and BORN AGAIN OF THE SPIRIT and its so radical and life changing and wonderful that it can be wrought only by the LOVE AND POWER of GOD HIMSELF
  • Steve on John 3 - 7 years ago
I believe and it is written that once you confess your sins to Jesus and invite him your heart your name is written in the Book Of Life. The baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus. So your locked into Heaven by his Incredible grace and Love which is unbelievable to some.

Hope that helped and God Bless!

Kevin; The message from John chapter 3 is about Jesus coming into the world to save us, not to condemn! Unbelief is the condemnation! Believing in Jesus, we repent of our sins and turn away from the world to walk with God. Baptism is important, because it is a ceremony symbolizing our washing and renewal through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ: that we are "immersed" into Christ!
  • Carole Schell on John 3 - 7 years ago
You are saved by faith through grace by Christ alone, baptism is a outward sign that you are a believer. Abraham was saved by faith alone.
  • Travis Thomas on John 3 - 7 years ago
This Scripture wasn't in reference to Christians. Christians are told to believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ given through the Apostle Paul. 1 Corinthians 15:3
  • Kevin on John 3 - 7 years ago
Am I to understand that even if I truly believe Jesus died for my sins(which I do) that I will not go to Heaven unless I'm baptized?
  • A disciple on Genesis 18 - 7 years ago
Dear Jonathan; Why do you not spell out the word God? He is not offended or challenged by our unworthiness; but He rather loves us and seeks to save us! ( John 3:16-17) There is a prophecy in Amos about the disobedient Jews at one point being no longer allowed to mention the LORD's Name; but it is not for us who believe and love the Name of our God and Saviour! What are your thoughts? Please write!

  • Alex on John 3 - 7 years ago
Disciple the mystery of the kingdom of God is Christ in you thus our new inner man is the H.G He says i will baptise you with the H.G and fire. When he breathed on them they received tHE H./G. simply b/c his breath was his word.his seed. the H.G. is the multiplication of christ in us via his seed. THATS Y HE REFERS TO HE H.G AS THE PROMISE.THAT PROMISE BEING THE VERY MULTIPILCATION OF CHRIST IN US
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
The Holy Ghost is not the new inner man, but the Spirit of God given into our hearts for OUR new life in Christ. We are the heirs of Salvation; and the outward vessels appointed by God to confirm His testimony of Christ, and the Spirit's striving with men to convict them of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. Some friendly advice:) 'spiritualising' Scriptures as a methodology is not spiritual!
  • Alex on John 3 - 7 years ago
There was none righteous no not ONE, we all carry the stain and the spot of Adam, THUS MANKIND NEEDS TO BE BORNAGAIN OF AN INCORRUPTIBLE SEED,even by the words of GOD, We must birth a new innerman which is the H.G. Thats y jesus refers to the H.G as the PROMISE he is the multiplication of Christ via his seed the word planted in our hearts I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, TH PROMISE

The devils believe and tremble I believed in God and feared him when I was lost the difference is no heart felt conviction. No REPENTANCE THE MOST HATED MISUNDERSTOOD WORD IN THE WHOLE KJV
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
Sue; When God commands all men everywhere to repent and believe the Glad Tidings of our salvation through His Son Jesus Christ; the expectation in the command is to acknowledge the truth unto conversion and reconciliation. Jesus said, "Now are you CLEAN through the word that I have spoken unto you." If you have repented and are sincere, you are washed and clean and given a new life freed from sin!
  • Sue on John 3 - 7 years ago
A person can b corrupt an sin but believe the word with all their heart. Are they still born of the spirit? As no one but Jesus was without sin
  • Ren on Esther 8 - 7 years ago
@Sam so if once saved always saved is a lie what about 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
  • Wayne on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
1 John 3:6- Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not, Whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him.

ST JOHN 3:17 For God send not his son into the world to condemn the world:but that the world through him might be saved.
