the worst lie in the world is when pastors say if we are believers and sin we will still go to heaven. this is what romans is talking about. The people of Sodom and gamora new god but did all of these sins and thought they were still ok. here is an thought if we cook a meal sit it on a table an wait a month to eat it what would it smell like.it says in the bible that sin stinks in the nostrils of God. So if we would not eat it. Why do we think god would except it. in John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. I pray that if you have sin in your life please! repent your eternal soul is at stake.

Acts 10 demonstrates the acceptance of gentiles into the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit fell upon the gentiles signifying to Peter that acceptance, but that ability to speak in tongues is different than receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2: 38. It is for everyone to help us in our daily lives as evidenced in Romans 8. If not for the Holy Spirit offering up prayers to God in our behalf to help keep us in the saved state. That is why baptism is so important because it is there where we receive the gift predicated upon the fact we acquiesce to God 's command as stated in John 3: 5, Mark 16: 16, Acts 2: 38, Acts 22: 16 and Matthew 28: 19, 20. Faith only doesn 't work, because faith has to be accompanied by following commands by Jesus. Finally, Romans 6 clearly shows why baptism is demanded because it is there we receive the regeneration by water burial in a token death, burial and resurrection satisfying God 's plan for salvation. Anything short of that is merely cut and paste salvation.

Here is the whole meaning. REPENT BELIEVE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST OR YOU WILL LIVE IN DEATH Ephesians 2: 1-10 then die physically go to HELL FOREVER.
  • Cheryl Favorite-good on John 3 - 9 years ago
I think the chapter 3 of John is telling us that unless we are born again of the spirit we will not have eternal life we must be born again and that means to change our ways and live by God 's commandments and believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and we need to spread the word
  • Delica on John 3:13 - 9 years ago
Jesus is telling Nicodemus that being born again is not a new teaching. It is there in the scriptures which he should have known. He is explaining what it means to believe in Jesus. The faith of Jesus includes a renewal of obedience to the commandments. Jesus quotes the scriptures in Deuteronomy 30:11-14: "For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it? ' Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it. ' But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. " Paul quotes this same passage in Romans 10:6-8: 6 But the righteousness that comes from faith talks like this: Don 't say in your heart, "Who will go up into heaven? " that is, to bring Christ down 7 or "Who will go down into the region below? " that is, to bring Christ up from the dead . 8 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart that is, the message of faith that we preach . This is evidence that instead of rabbinical law rituals of purity like hand washings and circumcision , Jesus taught a renewal and rebirth of God 's law which is His commandments also summed up in the law of love.
  • Barakmba on John 3:13 - 9 years ago
It means that, before one can physically ascend to heaven one should have had a physical descend from heaven. Adding that even Jesus Christ . So this implies that all men born of women dies just as men die but of those eg Angels do Descend and as well ascend.
  • Jeffrey on John 8 - 9 years ago
Romans 3:23 goes with John chapter 8. For all have come short of the glory of God. If we are to be true followers of Christ, we have to stop condemning one another and start loving each other. We are all sinners so we should not judge others. John 3:16-17 say 's for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not parish but have eternal life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. So saints if Jesus didn 't condemn us who are we to condemn others. Lets live out the Lords commandment which is to love others as Christ loves the church. Be blessed and stay strong in the Lord.
  • Dewey J on Exodus 9 - 9 years ago
Hello Pat Murphy, it sound like you are judging Almighty God. The God of Ex. 9:16 is the same God of Mark 15:25 which says, "And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the same in John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isa. 55:8, 9 also Isa. 29:16 proving God is the same God in all Scripture. God bless us all and also in the understanding of his Word. Praise Jehovah in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

We have only one Jehovah the most High God. Jesus is the mediator between man and God. Our Heavenly Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one. Whaterver Jesus spake comes from the Father who have sent him. John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son Jesus Christ whoever believes in him will not be perish but have an everlasting life. Our Heavenly Father loves his Son Jesus so much and he gave him a full authority into Jesus hands and that 's the reason that Jesus has authority to forgive sins to Save us from Sins. He made everything new thanks to Jesus precious blood that shed for us, His Resurrection, His ascencion to heaven and thanks for sending us the Holy Spirit. Our prayers must be completed with thanks and praising to Jesus for he is worthy to be praised. Amen. We must now meditate his words day and night all things that we do will be prosper. Praised God Amen

Bro. Daniel FC 's on Ryan Jashua Shepperd 's comment about verse 4: how totally impossible it is to SIN our way into heaven Hi Ryan, are you saying that keeping the Ten Commandments is sin? Last time I checked, sin is the transgression of the law 1John 3:4 : not trying to keep it. In his letter to the Galatians, Apostle Paul is talking to the new converts who were misled by those maintaining that you need to be circumcised in order to be saved. Please don t confuse the Ceremonial Laws fulfilled by Jesus and rendered obsolete with the Moral Laws, which every Christian must live by.

John 3:5 as God says verily verily i say unto you except a man be born of water and of the Spirit He cannot enter into the kingdome of God. Jesus is leading us to the Living water the word of God. We must delight ourselves to God first and be Born Again in Spirit and not in the flesh. We must accept God 's words and obey them. Jesus is the only way the truth and the life no man comes to the Father except thru him. Amen we must praised and thanks to Jesus precious blood that shed for us. His Resurrection, His Ascencion and thanks to the Holy Spirit that sent us. God is good all the time and he is worthy to be praised. Amen

Bro. Daniel FC on Ryan Jashua Shepperd 's comment about verse 4: how totally impossible it is to SIN our way into heaven Hi Ryan, are you saying that keeping the Ten Commandments is sin? Last time I checked, sin is the transgression of the law 1John 3:4 : not trying to keep it. In his letter to the Galatians, Apostle Paul is talking to the new converts who were misled by those maintaining that you need to be circumcised in order to be saved. Please don t confuse the Ceremonial Laws fulfilled by Jesus and rendered obsolete with the Moral Laws, which every Christian must live by. Yes, we are all saved by grace only and no one can boast. In Romans chapter 7, Apostle Paul makes it clear: 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good . Lip service only, to God, is not going to be enough. According to Jesus Himself: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity Matt. 7: 21, 23 . The word iniquity according to Strong s concordance has the following meanings: 1. the condition of without law 2. because ignorant of it 3. because of violating it 4. contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness. Remember: We keep the Moral Law not in order to be saved, but BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED AND LOVE THE LORD. Does that make sense to you?

BLESSING OTHERS SHOULD NOT JUST BE IN WORDS... My son 's prayer was answered last night as I dozed off to sleep on the couch. Power had just been turned off in our area. My son had asked for a bike early this year and I promised that I would only do that by December as I had a loan that needed to be paid off by then. Propped on my couch, I dozed off and was asleep. Suddenly, a voice woke me from my sleep and said, "bless your son. " I woke up, checked where my son was sleeping and he wasn 't there: went to his bedroom only to find that he was fast asleep. Early this morning I was relishing the idea of what sort of blessing I would give to my boy - perhaps just lay a hand on him and say a few words... Well I was wrong. when I enquired from his cousins, I was told that my son diarised December as the month he was to receive the bike from you and that he is always talking about it. There I had it! He sees me put monies in the offering basket, pay for bills and other things and clearly, he couldn 't stop but wonder if there shouldn 't be surplus enough to get him a bike! I haven 't yet bought it, but my spirit has agreed that I need to do it and pronto! Recently, the pastor at a fellowship I attend has been asking my son to hold the offering basket and pray for the offering - I don 't know if it is by divine appointment, but that is going to cost me a bike! King James Version of 1 John 3:17. But whoso hath this world 's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue but in deed and in truth.

God 's words are so powerful like a sword. We must meditate them day and night as God is so faithful to his promises that when we obey his words he will never leave us nor forsake us. God loves us so much John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son Jesus that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Amen

To "repent " means literally to "turn around. " God already knew that the people of Nineveh were going to "turn around " from their sin, and so our merciful God "turned around " from His proclamation of judgment against them. Jesus said that those who do not believe in Him are "condemned already " -- John 3:18. Yet if anyone will believe in Him, God will "turn " that condemnation "around " and he will NOT be condemned -- also in John 3:18.

Our Heavenly Father provided us his Son Jesus Christ because of his love John 3:16. Our job now is to believe Jesus as the Son of the Living God who have redeemed us on the cross in order for us to be saved and have life in abundance. Jesus himself is a word of God. Therefore we must believe his words and keep his commandments. Jesus is given us a chance to read the Bible and to listen to his words in the Church everyday. Jesus words are given for us to believe not to understand. Jesus loves us and he is faithful to his promises that he will never ever leave us nor foresake us. Jesus is guiding us to the living water as it was a commanded by our Father. We must be Born Again in Spirit and invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Without Christ we cant do anything. All things are possible with Christ . Amen

The Holy Spirit is Given to those who DESIRES to follow Jesus. Many people blinded by the truth, they are reading the bible but did not desire to understand it, that is why they say the promise of God is for Israelites Jews only, you are wrong my friend, understand john 3:16, God 's Promises is for everyone that BELIEVES and DO and live by His Words. 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. God did not reveal everything to us unless we DESIREs to know it, that is the work of the Holy Spirit, He gives us knowledge, understanding and Wisdom as we read His Words and desires to understand and live by it.. and Keep reminding us to live by the word of God....God Bless....

Mike Moses, God is good therefore he has never requested or excepted human sacrifice. Also, Isaac was not qualified to atone for the sin of all mankind only Jesus Christ is. Even though Abraham was tested and passed a great test by God Jesus Christ is the only qualified lamb of God that take away the sin of the world or mankind John 1:29. The one and only Son of God John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believe in him shall not parish but have everlasting life. God bless us all and in the understanding of his word. Bless the Lord with all my soul and all that is within me, Glory be to God. Amen.

This reply is to Taheel Shahid. If you will read the second chapter of Acts, you are given instruction in verses 37,38. All must repent confess our sins, ask forgiveness, and turn from them then be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ not father, son, Holy Ghost for the remission of those sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I hope you see this and that you will be obedient to the Word. God bless you, Taheel.
