Discuss John 4 Page 12

    (1) His miraculous birth was prophesied 800 years before His coming: "Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel" ( Isaiah 7:14, KJV).

    (2) The prophecy was fulfilled to the letter. "Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus" ( Luke 1:30, 31, KJV).

    (3) Jesus demonstrated human characteristics: He became tired ( John 4:6). He thirsted ( John 19:28), He ate food ( Luke 24:40-43), He showed feelings ( Mark 6:34), He wept ( John 11:35), He knew temptation ( Hebrews 4:15), and He died ( John 19:30).

Jesus Christ Accomplished the Works of His Father:

    (1) He died on the Cross. This is the fundamental theme of the Gospel.

The fact of His death-One-fourth of the Gospels are dedicated to His Passion and Resurrection. (a) For this purpose He came into the world ( John 12:27). (b) His death was prophesied hundreds of years before He came ( Isaiah 53:3-8).

The meaning of His death. (a) It was a ransom for sin ( Matthew 20:28; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 1:18). (b) It was to pay the penalty for sin ( Romans 3:24; 1 John 2:2; 4:10). Man is the object of God's wrath because of rebellion and sin, but God took the initiative in satisfying His wrath by sending His own Son to Calvary. (c) It is a reconciliation. The enmity between us and God has ended ( Romans 5:10), and we are restored to God ( 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19). (d) It is a substitution: He died in our place ( 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:21). (e) In summary, the matter of sin has been completely dealt with ( 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 9:26; Hebrews 10:12).

    (2) He was resurrected from the dead: This is unique and fundamental to Christianity.

The reality of the Resurrection ( John 20:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:4).

The credibility of the Resurrection: (a) Jesus predicted it: Matthew 13:39-41; Luke 24:1-7. (b) The tomb was empty: John 20:11-13. (c) Many witnesses saw Him alive: the women ( Luke 23:55, 56); Mary Magdalene

    Jesus Christ is God:

Deity is the only explanation for all that He was and all that He did.

    (1) He was pre-existent with the Father. "The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made" ( John 1:2, 3, KJV). (Also see John 17:5 and Colossians 1:17.)

    (2) He is the Son of God.

His enemies admitted: "He...said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God" ( John 5:18, KJV).

Peter confessed: "And we believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" ( John 6:69, KJV).

Jesus affirmed: "I and my Father are one" ( John 10:30, NIV).

    (3) He was sinless, as only God can be.

Jesus challenged His enemies: "Which of you convinceth me of sin?" ( John 8:46, KJV).

Peter testified: "...Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth" ( 1 Peter 2:21, 22, KJV).

Paul stated: "For he...made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" ( 2 Corinthians 5:21, KJV).

    (4) He forgives sin, as only God can.

The Scribes said: "Who can forgive sins but God only?" ( Mark 2:7, KJV).

Jesus said: "But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins..." ( Matthew 9:6, KJV). (Also see John 8:11.)

Peter wrote: "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" ( 1 Peter 2:24, KJV).

    (5) He performed miraculous works.

He healed the sick: Matthew 8:9-13; Luke 4:31-44; 5:12-15; John 4:43 to 5:16; and other references.

He fed the hungry: John 6; Mark 8, etc.

He raised the dead: Luke 7:11-18; John 11:1-46.

    Jesus Christ Became Man:

"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...full of grace and truth" ( John 1:14, KJV). (See also Philippians 2:7, 8.)

    Amen Bob.

That is in the context of what that verse is saying, It's not a verse that we use to examine a fault or to bring condemnation, It's used to verify.

    Here's it in its context;

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:15-16.

This is not an outward showing of the flesh, This is caused by the husbandman "God!" This is spirit indwelling!! Not the works of the flesh where man have an outward appearance but dead on the inside.

    Matthew 23:27.

    You can't work this up.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Matthew 7:18.

Here's another reference to your comment. Matthew 23:25-26.

I believe this is what Henry was getting at also.

This is wonderful scripture and important to keep it in its context.

This is the ministry of the Holyspirit.

This is not examining a fault in another such as a mote in ones eye or pulling a beam out of our eyes.

those verses is speaking of judging/condemning.

Fruit is something you don't produce, it's something you bare. You're the branch connected to the vine!

Now we can examine ourselves and according to John, We can know whether we're in the faith or not.

    1 John 4:13-21.

    God bless.

Isaiah 53, Luke 1, Luke 2, Luke 3, whole chapters

    Zechariah 13:6,

My question back, is why does she feel this way? anti-Semitic thought sometimes were thought because of the crucifixion. Sometimes for love towards Jesus & sad for His suffering, If someone doesn't read deeper to see Jesus came to his own, wounded by his own. For all mankind & HE forgave even them. John 4:9, Luke 23:34, Luke 6:37, Romans 1:16,

Other good scriptures were given by other answers.

It may be a good start to find out why it's important to her to believe that. Finding the root, sometimes helps better answer questions.

    Hopefully these are helpful

    1 John 4:1-4

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  • FALLING AWAY IN THE LAST DAYS - 3 years ago
As Paul wrote the Thessalonians informing them of the falling away to come, he details the coming apostasy in other passages. 1 Timothy 4:1-2, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." 2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." Hebrews 3:12-19 - Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Departing from the faith. The Bible explains the dividing line between the Spirit of God and the spirit of Antichrist is the deity of Christ (1 John 4:3). It takes faith in the sacrificial death of Christ for salvation_I am a sinner, Christ died for my sins, and his blood washes my sins away. If Jesus Christ is not God, His death is worthless. If Jesus is not God, his blood has no more power in it than mine or yours. The deity of Christ is essential to the Christian faith and the Christian hope for eternity.

People claiming Christianity are leaving the doctrine of Christ's deity in leaps and bounds. In a survey October 2018__78 percent of "Americans with evangelical beliefs" said that Jesus was the first and greatest being CREATED by God the Father.

If God created Jesus, He is not God. The deity of Christ is the core of the Christian faith. Suppose the numbers of this survey are close to accurate?

"In the latter times," people will depart from the faith, give heed to seducing spirits, not endure sound doctrine.

Israel of God, the Children of God, are a Spiritual Race, not a physical ethnic race. How can we be sure?

    "God is a Spirit"

    John 4:24

"... Israel is My son; even My first-born:"

    Exod. 4:22

If God is a Spirit, His children must be of the Spirit; not a physical race of people who are centralized in one place in the world. God told us He would strike the Shepherd (Jesus) and the sheep would be scattered. The Israel/Children of God are among every race and in every corner of the world.

"... They which are the children of THE FLESH, these are NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: ..."

    Rom. 9:8

The Children of the Spirit are of God; THEY are the True Israel.

The Day of the Lord in Joel is the same as in Isaiah 13:9-11 & Matt. 24:29-31. It is the Wrath of God, final day judgment. Jesus returns on the very last day of the world which eliminates the possibility of a Millennium period BEFORE these things take place.

Jesus tells us in John 6:39, 40, 44, 54; John 11:24 & John 12:48 that He is coming on the Last Day of the world. That is the SAME DAY that the Wrath of God takes place. That's why it is called the Lord's (Jesus') Day.

These verses coincide perfectly with the Matt. and Isaiah verses above.

"A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, ..."

    Joel 2:2

"The earth shall quake ... the heavens shall tremble: the sun and moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the Lord shall utter His voice before His army: for the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?"

    Joel 2:10-11

"...let the Bridegroom go forth of His chamber, and the bride out of her closet. (this is Jesus returning for His saints on the same day as the Wrath of God/Day of the Lord - coincides perfectly with Matt. 24:29-31)

"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible Day of the Lord come."

    Joel 2:31

There is no place for 1,000 yrs between Jesus' return and the Wrath of God. It does not fit.

    Hi Aaron.

One of the conditions of the Millennium time period doctrine is that it must take place on the physical earth 'prior' to the earth's destruction. The 144, 000 are discussed in Rev. 7. Herein lies the problem. Rev. 6 describes the return of Christ and the Wrath of God 'destruction', and falling apart of the earth. Rev. 7:13-14 coincides perfectly with Matt. 24:29-31 and Isaiah 13:9-11. Also, Rev. 7:15-17 describes these people being in a heavenly/spiritual realm, not a physical one. The earth has already been destroyed at this time and the Millennium cannot be happening because its doctrine states that the earth will be the same throughout the 1,000 years and the New Heaven and New Earth will not come until after the Mill.

Daniel 7:12 also has a similar problem. It is all a symbolic, spiritual 'vision' - not literal. Verse 13 reads:

"I saw in the 'night visions' and behold one like the Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. ... His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."

The Ancient of Days is a Spirit and resides in the spirit realm. John 4:24

An everlasting dominion which shall not pass away and a kingdom which shall not be destroyed does not say anything at all about a 1,000 year trial period of time. No Millennium verses here. This is all symbolic vision and/or things taking place in the spirit realm. They cannot be speaking of the Millennium doctrine.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1John 4:20

How can I truly love my brother?

Lord help me to look at everyone through eyes of love. Love covers a multitude of transgressions.

Help me to look at everyone through eyes of mercy! The same eyes of mercy you look at me with.

Help me to love my brother and my enemy alike.

We may be spending eternity together! :-))

This is my sincere desire Lord.

    Matthew 12:50

    (Who is my brother?)

    1 John 3:11-17

    (Loving my brother)

1John is an amazing book of the Bible. Short read. Only 5 chapters. But I highly recommend it!

God bless you and keep you. :-).

    Hey SolaScrip,

Is there scripture outside Revelation that confirms an exact 1000 years? The answer is no. Are there false teachers out there? The answer is yes, there are many, 1 John 4:1. Are there scriptures that say the Son of God will reign on earth? The answer is yes. Psalm 2:6-9 Psalm 22:27-31 Isaiah 2:1-4 Isaiah 9:6-7 Isaiah 24:21-23 Jeremiah 23:5 Ezekiel 20:33-44 Ezekiel 39:21-29 Zechariah 2:10-13 Zechariah 8:2-3 Zechariah 14:1-9 Matthew 19:28 Revelation 11:15 Revelation 20:4 and more.

Is there any scripture that says people will go to or reign in heaven? The answer is no. Are there scriptures that say the elect will reign with Jesus on earth? The answer is yes. Daniel 7:27 2 Timothy 2:11-13 Revelation 5:10. Are there scriptures that describe how things change after Jesus returns? The answer is yes. Zechariah 8:4 Isaiah 11 Isaiah 60:15 Isaiah 65:18-25. These people will be alive on the second coming of Jesus, they will have the opportunity to live longer if they choose to obey God.

Are there things that have not been revealed to us? The answer is, yes? Jesus will return and set up the kingdom here on earth and He will put all enemies under His feet, 1 Corinthians 15:25. Will death still be during the time Jesus is ruling? The answer is yes. The purpose is to fulfill the rest of the scriptures with Jesus, Israel, the Gentiles, and creation that has not yet been fulfilled.

The only scripture that gives us 1000 years is Revelation, but many scriptures tell us the kingdom will be set up on earth. We have these, Numbers 14:21 Psalms 115:16 Micah 4:1-3 Matthew 5:5 Matthew 6:10. Not to debate, with the time it will take I cannot say the 1000 years are false.

    God bless,

    Hey brother S Spencer,

    Part 1

May I answer with humility my understanding. The scripture covering the creation of Adam in Genesis 2 is not the same creation of mankind on day six. Looking at Hebrew words, 'asah translated made, denoting something produced, as a work. Hebrew word bara', translated created, with the same implication as to work in all of Genesis 1, that God rested from on the seventh day.

There is a different word used in Genesis 2 for Adam, yatsar, formed meaning to fashion or form for a purpose. This is the same word found in Isaiah 43:21 proclaiming Israel to be 'the people I formed, (yatsar) for Myself', the purpose, to be a light to the nations, Isaiah 49:6. Before the resurrection, only the house of Israel had a covenant with God. John 4:22, Adam's purpose was the bloodline to the Last Adam Jesus.

We see the word ha-'adamah (the ground) now with the creation of Adam in Genesis 2:7, was not the Hebrew word 'erets meaning earth, land, countries, used in Genesis 1. The Hebrew word -eh (field) means field, land, agriculture, which brings in Genesis 2:5 the plants of the field was not in the earth as of yet because there was not a man to till it, husbandry, Adam.

The word translated till is the Hebrew word avad only translate here as till but the meaning is to work and serve, translated 141 times serve, and 7 times worship. What we serve and work at, we worship. Our walk is to till, same as a garden, we plow the field, we plant the seeds, we water, and God brings forth the harvest.

    BMW.

    Part 3.

    (3) There is a fundamental fact of human history. Humanity was created in the image of God ( Genesis 1:26-27). This does not have reference to the physical features of humankind, for God is not physical ( Matthew 16:17; John 4:24; Luke 24:39); rather, as noted above, it alludes to intangible qualities that were created resident in the spirit of the person. This aspect of human personality is what Paul called conscience. The English word derives from the Greek term, syneidesis, a compound term signifying "to know together." It reflects a common knowledge that human beings share with one another of a sense of religious and moral culpability.

As one scholar noted: "According to Romans 2:14-15 conscience is innate and universal. It is not the product of environment, training, habit, race impression, or education, though it is influenced by all these factors" (Rehwinkel 1999, 136). The ancient Gentiles, therefore, were not judged by the same rule as the Jews, but they were not void of law and culpability. Elsewhere the matterhas been described in this way:

[T]he threefold workings of the law, in that the guidance of their heart predisposes them to know the right, the testimony of their conscience bears witness with their heart that the right is preferable, and lastly, after the deed is done, their thoughts or inward reasonings accuse or excuse them according as their act has been wrong or right. These well-known psychological phenomena, observable among the Gentiles, are proof conclusive that they are not without law, with its power and privilege of justification (McGarvey and Pendleton n.d., 313).

Dear Christie Taylor we are going to pray for you. And the evil powers that are after you can also be proof that you are on the right path. :) This may not help you right now, but look, good news is on the way. :) And they will help! Scripture is Living.

    John 4:24

God is a Spirit: And they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

And it's a little easier for us, who dont have much, because we have less responsibility and less to think about. This is exactly how Jesus wants us to be. Look for ways to become even more free from earthly obligations. Be totally dependent on Him. For He can work in that which is nothing. But never forget what Jesus says.

    Luke 6:24-25.

    James 5:1 and much more.

The words of God's will set you free, these are some example of words you should say to the powers. And not just these. For there is one in whom all powers are afraid, and that is Jesus Christ. His Name is Holy and Reigns Supreme. Use the powerful words and allthe promises, you know when you have found out what spirit they are of, speak directly to them in faith. That they be bound in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Above all other Names. We will not allow ourselves to be followed in all tidal waves or be beaten down by demons.

Fill yourself with the words of victory as in the Psalms of David and see also the book of Hebrews and Romans. For your own sake and gain assurance of salvation.

And dont forget too put on the Armor Of God Everyday, this is extremly important. Ephesians Chapter 6.

God bless u in His Holy Name Jesus Christ. Amen

    Hi Sandra.

    I misread your question originally,

That is a great question!! Here's a few verses out those mentioned I believe to be shown the toughest.

    1 Peter 5:2-3, 5-6.

    V2 ) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

V 3 ) Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

Vs 5)Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

V 6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

    HUMILITY AND MEEKNESS.

A lesson the Lord taught Peter in

    John 13:4-8.

How do you expresses this and be truthful when someone is taken in a fault?

Example: Galatians 6:1-3. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,

RESTORE SUCH AN ONE IN THE SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS; "CONSIDERING THYSELF", lest thou also be tempted.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Here's several issues come to mind in the verses you mentioned.

1). Humility: In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance humbleness of mind a modest estimate of one's own worth. In theology, humility consists in lowliness of mind a deep sense of one's own unworthiness in the sight of God, self-abasement, penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will.

A prideful person wants praise and God's glory for himself. How do you restore that person in meekness without backlash? By not telling them the truth or just ignore them even if they're leading people Astray?

We all have had faults and still do, but we must be truthful and meekness in our approach while considering ourselves.

I believe this is where we worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24.

    God bless.

    Hey Trish,

The firmament, raqia, meaning an extended surface, expanse, God called heaven that He placed the sun, moon, and all the stars. It is from the earth to the furthest star. In Genesis 1:6-8 the second day God said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters to divide the waters, WOW. This shows how little we understand the size and power of our God, we cannot even comprehend that. We ask what is this water that is above the farthest star we know of?

In the ancient world among all peoples everywhere believed the sky (firmament) was a rock-solid dome over the earth beneath which were the sun, moon, and stars. Some in the past believed there was a sea above this solid dome. Some believe the water was a canopy of water vapor that covered the earth before the flood. This greenhouse effect might have made the whole pre-flood world tropical and helped people live for hundreds of years, and the water used to flood the earth.

With the sun, moon, and stars in this firmament that could not be because this would have created intense heat that would cook everything. I think this is one thing outside of our understanding, you can word search firmament in scripture, but God throne is above it, Paul called it the third heaven, 2 Corinthians 12:2. The waters above may be the waters of life as we read in Revelation 21:6 and Revelation 21:1,17. The water Jesus offered in John 4:10-15.

    God bless,

    H J,

I'm sad to hear of you're very difficult situation all around. 1st let's start with GOD loves you. How wonderful it is when anyone seeks HIM & HIS truth. 1 John 4:19, John 3:15-16. Deuteronomy 4:29,

I have wondered about this subject & I ask: if a man/woman marries someone thst is divorced Matthew 19:9, then is that a marriage honorable to GOD ? Or is it sin, continued in?

Ezra 9,10, it appears only 2 people were against that decision. Ezra 10:15, some of them had children Ezra 10:44, Nehemiah 8:9, Nehemiah 13:23-31,

Is it sin, to continue in sin?

    John 8:10

Is that what Jesus would say to you?

I don't put much coin in comments that don't provide scripture verses to back up their claims. Unless you can cite your sources through God's perfect Word, I'll just dismiss your post as another philosophical matter of man.

I'm willing to change my stance, but you need to provide scripture; I obey God's words, not man.

    1 John 4:1

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

    Acts 5:29

"Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."

Have you ever read John chapter 4. This is the account where Jesus stops by a well and a Samaritan woman comes out to meet him. He asks her to give him a drink. Theres an exchange that takes place about the Samaritans having no dealings with the Jews then Jesus tells her of this living water. She asks if He's greater than their father Jacob. The story continues with Jesus asking her to go get her husband. She explains that she has no husband. Jesus says to her, "Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. John 4:17-18.

So Jesus recognizes this womans previous marriages. Which means that every one counts.

As far as Gods laws for christians it says in Romans 13:1-2 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

1 Peter 2:13-15 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Now as far as I know, Mans laws that include marriage do not go against what marriage is in the new testament and even in Jesus' sight this woman has been married 5 times and now was living in fornication. Being with someone she's not married to. That being said, we can rightfully assume she obviously was not a virgin after the marriage to her first husband. So in your case you were legally married to two women, regardless of their former status. This holds weight in Gods sight.

This is a story that shows how the Holy Spirit gift, Word of Knowledge, operates.

She might have thought the way he was dressed that he was a Jew. Jews and Samaritan's did not fellowship together, or draw water for each other. She was surprised that Jesus even spoke to her.

She gave him a drink and through the Word of knowledge, Jesus told her all the events/truths of her life.

As a result she runs back to her neighborhood and tells what happened. The town goes back with her and Jesus preaches the good news to them. They all get saved__by believing in what he said.

Jesus was quizzed by the Disciples for even speaking to her and the others. Jesus was sent to "the House of Israel" first. Jesus explained that he was sent to the world. Jews and Gentiles did not mix cultures. Kind of like today with the disputes between whites vs non-whites.

Only the LIFE of Jesus living in His believers and followers__can bring HEALING TO THE NATIONS.

    Matthew 28:19.

Just in the New Testament, are 37 scriptures on the word Nations. That's who we all are. Separation began at the Tower of Babel.

We shall know THE TRUTH and the Truth WILL set us free. Now that Jesus has made all people eligible to receive Salvation; and we receive it into our lives__we are to take the Healing of the Nations into ourselves First. After conversion we are to Take Healing To the Nations (all peoples regardless of religion, race or unbelief). The TREE OF LIFE, which is Jesus Christ: the fruit is for the Healing of the Nations.

After knowing what the will of God is, through Jesus Christ; we must embrace and REPRODUCE the God kind of Love.

Perfection, is AGAPE love. It's the Holy Spirits job to produce that within us. All of our predjudices must be left at the foot of the Cross.

We do this only by trust, and faith in Jesus to perfect our faith. Is the Power of His Love strong enough? How much of us are we willing to surrender? There will be some pain in dying to Self.

Hi Barbara. I can't be sure since the Bible doesn't specifically mention this aspect but the two possibilities that come to mind are: Jesus' appearance and/or His accent. Very often in eastern cultures, the type of clothing or footwear worn or manner of wearing it can give clues about the person's origins. As well, a person's accent can often identify which part of the country they're from.

Having lived & ministered in India & Pakistan, these identifiable aspects were often at the forefront. Because over there, it wasn't just the conversation that was important, but also knowing a person's background & family roots helped in what was being discussed. Maybe this woman at the well picked up some of these clues from Jesus.

    Adam

    Oops sent without finishing....

Witness of the bible and of the church from apostolic times onward.

The idea that Jesus is not God has been refuted repeatedly over the centuries and determined to be heresy again and again.

But I these days, this view flourishes because the church is so fractured that the authorities voice of orthodoxy has lost its effect as we are in a time where each person and sect chooses their own version of doctrines they accept as "truth" and minds have been blinded to the Truth of Scriptures, as you so clearly pointed out.

Those who deny that Jesus is God are deceived by "false teachers" the same as those who deny that He came in the flesh 1John 4:1-4 and have the spirit of the Antichrist.

1John 5:9-12 goes on to tell us that the witness of God is greater than the witness of men. Those who do not believe the witness of God

(In 1John 7-8) are calling God a liar.

I feel sad for those who have been deceived by refusing to believe that Jesus is God and that The Godhead consists of three Persons that are unified as One God. We can pray for them and give testimony to the truth as you have done .

    Than you.
