Discuss John 4 Page 5

    Brother Richard:

The word says that scripture has to be understood by applying other scriptures to it.

The NEW COVENANT, the gospel, was preached to THEM as well as unto US.

John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship, salvation is of the Jews.

Romans 2:29 For he is a JEW, which is one inwardly, and circumcision is in the heart, IN THE SPIRIT .....

Romans 8:2 For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST, has made us free from the LAW of sin and DEATH ...

This same gospel was preached to them as well as us.

Psalms 119:1 Blessed are the UNDEFILED in the way ( John 14:6) who WALK in the LAW OF the LORD ( Romans 8:2).

Ezekiel 36:27 I will put my Spirit in you and cause you to WALK in my STATUTES, and keep my judgements and DO THEM.

Psalms 119:3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in HIS WAYS.

Psalms 119:5 Oh that my ways were directed to keep thy STATUTES!

The Spirit CAUSES us TO DO his will, the words that come out of our mouth, are his words, the works of our hands, are his works.

Isaiah 48:18 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this, I have not spoken in secret from the beginning, from the time that it was, there am I, and HIS SPIRIT HAS SENT ME ( Romans 8:2).

John 14:24 ...and the word ye hear are not mine, but the Father's which sent me ....

Mark 10:8 And they TWAIN shall be ONE FLESH: so they are no more TWAIN, but ONE FLESH ...

The same SPIRIT that sent Christ and raised him up, and we as JOINT HEIRS, abides in us, our words are not ours by the Father's that anoints us.

The wages if UNBELIEF is DEATH.

The GIFT of BELIEF is IMMORTAL LIFE.

1 Timothy 6:16 .... Christ ONLY hath IMMORTAL LIFE......

    God BLESS YOU!

Richard, look forward to reading your next posts.

One of my favorite verses (I would call it my "life verse") is 1 John 4:10

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins."

In fact, this whole section in 1 John 4:7-21is very near and dear to my heart.

    Hello again Adam,

    As to 1 John 4:18

This statement about perfect love casting out fear follows Johns exposition on the amazing love of God for us manifested in sending His Son to suffer and die for our sins to set us free from the condemnation our sin deserves. And we can know that we have life in Jesus because of what He did for us. In verse 15 John speaks as Jesus did in the Luke passage, that any who confesses Jesus is the Son of God (which the Jewish leaders determined was blasphemy; that Jesus made Himself out to be God when He claimed to be the Son of God- Jn. 10:33) will be indwelt by the God and the person dwells in God. vs. 16.

verse 17 says that we can have boldness on the day of judgement. This is where our love is made perfect and we will have no fear of condemnation at that judgement. vs.18. Those who will fear at the judgement will be those who do not confess Jesus, who are in unbelief and do not have the indwelling of God nor do they abide in God, as believers do prior to the judgement.

On judgment day we will have boldness instead of fear like the unbelievers because the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts through God's work of salvation, forgiveness of sins, and the imputed righteousness of Christ. We can stand before God on judgment day knowing we will enter into blessed eternity in the Presence of God without any fear or sense of disapproval from God. We will stand without blame because Jesus stood for us in our place to enable us to become sons of God, vessels of His mercy, not vessels of His wrath, as the unbelievers are.

So I think that both of these selections from Luke and 1 John are speaking about judgment day and how we who confess Jesus, even under threat of death by persecutors, will receive the crown of life, and victory, and acceptance by God who did not have to save us but chose to do so in the manifestation of His love for us in Christ.

I am interested in reading what others think on your concerns on this matter.

    Hi Adam,

In 1 John 4:18, where it says "He that feareth is not made perfect in love," it would seem as though it is saying that it is bad to fear.

Here is my understanding of this verse:

He says there is no fear in love; but perfect love (that is, love brought to completion), casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect, or complete in love.

He's talking about the motive for obeying God. Some people obey God because they are afraid. Those who have the Spirit of God, and have matured and understand about the love of God, they do things because they love Him. It's like Jesus said in John 14:15 if you love me, you will keep my commandments.

In Luke 12:5, if we look at it with Verse 4, Jesus is showing contrast. All man can do to you is kill you, physically put you to death. And He's following this line of hypocrisy. We act a certain way so that we don't get rejected. We act a certain way so that we don't suffer the consequences.

Even as a Christian, sometimes we compromise with nonbelievers because we have a fear and a concern whether they are going to reject us or receive us. Jesus said all you need to do is fear God. That is the only one you need to fear.

I hope this helps. God bless!!!

Hello, I'd like to seek input from fellow believers on these 2 verses:

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18 KJV

To me this seems to make fear seem bad, and weak, like a character flaw if you have fear. However, the next fears says to fear God.

"But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." Luke 12:5 KJV

The first one says someone that fears is not made perfect in love, but the other one says to fear God.

How do I reconcile these 2 verses? Thank you to anyone who replies.

1 John 4:4 He that is with you" (3 of 3)

In exercising the sword of Spirit we ward off many thrusts of the enemy even this moment. Ungodly world encourages a child of God to join with them in many hare-brained schemes be it Ponzi scheme or Pro-life marches or pro Israel. Palestine nation reduced to misery without basic amenities did not raise even a murmur from the Christian world against giving a better life to them. What hypocrisy is to take a march for the unborn? Here was a news item, "The fentanyl that killed a one-year-old child at a nursery in New York City was hidden in the nap room under a mat as he slept, police say.". Local churches turn a blind eye to the free flow of dangerous drugs falling into the hands of the vulnerable but they are most vocal for the rights of the foetus! These sort of activism are not from God but from Satan. The word of God is to be used for his glory and not from some worthless political causes.

There was war in heaven and in the Book of Daniel and Revelation we see bad actors spiritual darkness getting involved in the nations. Unknown to us we are engaged in a spiritual struggle against the powers of darkness. There are rules of engagement to which we have our roles, "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity."(1 Co.16:13-14)

"And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand thatisupon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many." ( Josh 11:3-4) The Spirit gives us as total numbers from both worlds of the Spirit and of the body. Here is another passage, "And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them./And thus I saw the horses in the vision,..."(Re.9:16-18)

St. John heard the number and it is a vision given to him. The Spirit gives us a clue. 'Third of men killed''/ The number tag of Three sets in context of the of Son. ( John 16:33)

    1 John 4:4 (2 of 3)

God a Spirit and has accordingly by his divine Power given us all things required for life and godliness. We are chosen generation and a peculiar people that he put all the details what makes us a holy nation on the simple article as trust. This faith is greater than the pomp and circumstance that the world flaunts. Many instances we have of those who came to nothing. Who wants such glory that Satan gives the foolish and takes away when is least expected? God does indeed make a distinction between children of light and of wrath. "To bring to nought things that are:/That no flesh should glory in his presence," is the divine rationale.

We are of God so God has in reserve for us the wherewithal to lead a holy life unmolested by spiritual darkness. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in highplaces."(Ep.6:12) we see in the life of Elisha, "And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them./And Elisha prayed, and said,Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And theLordopened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."(2 Ki.6:15-23)

We have not counted the great congregation that we find associated with the Ancient of days.. There is no change in the numbers or in the divine will set before the worlds began."A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened."(Dan.7:10)

'Judgment was set' is by Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever. So we figure among the number mentioned in the vision which is our reality in the world of the Spirit. So when we refer to the whole armor of God faith we hold as shield even in the present hour.

    1 John 4:4 (1 of 3)

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. "

Apostle John speaks of our antecedents. "Ye are of God" We have ben called forth before the worlds began. We are a chosen generation. Because when God separated light from darkness (Ge.1:3-4) He set us apart to be with him in the light where we have his Son as the true Light. Before we were born it was a matter determined by Him and when we received Jesus Christ as our savior we became according to the word of God, a peculiar people. God also set our tasks which we cannot escape. We should show forth the praises as faithful servants.

"But yearea chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"(1 Pe.2:9). In another epistle St Peter says,' to glory and virtue'. ("According as his divine power hath given unto us all things thatpertainunto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue."-2 Pe.1:3)

How peculiar are we that God should his glory invest in us? "And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:/That no flesh should glory in his presence." (1 Co.1:28-29)

    Hi Elwact..

Yes, Jesus is a Jew and much more.

He's in the lineage of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.

This is shown throughout the bible.

Notice here in John 4:9 the Samaritan woman at the well calls him a Jew

"Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans".

Again, Listen to Jesus here in John 4:22 "Ye worship ye know not what: WE know what WE worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

By the way, You might want to read and study scripture for yourself. These questions and answer forums can sometimes be a help but sometimes can be confusing.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

Ge.8:7 The raven and the dove

" And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth."(v.7)

What is the role of the raven and later a dove that Noah sent from the ark? The writer to the Hebrews says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,/Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son."(He.1:1-2)

" The dove has a double function and the significance of the raven goes beyond feeding Elijah in his distress but serves us to understand the mind of Christ.

"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us./ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us."( Luke 9: 49-50) Jesus could work with people of all hues for he knew what was in their mind. Noah similarly accommodates,-metaphorically speaking, the entire creation under his charge. His name Noah signified rest. So the Spirit ties Noah as a rest-giver with Jesus who was the prince of peace.

The raven flew hither and thither till the waters drained off from the face of the earth but he chose not to return. He however serves us to understand that it makes all sorts of people whose service to God have their own shape and colour. When Jesus tells his disciples, "I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labour."( John 4:38)

The dove with 'an olive leaf pluckt off' is an emblem. Its primary sense: the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which would meld holy families 'in the now' for the holy city of God in eternity.

The dove represented His messengers ie., John the Baptist who was anointed in his mother's womb to serve as ' friend to the groom'. Thirdly the dove served as a harbinger of House of Prayer for all nations in eternity. (Ps.128:3) Olive signifies gladness and glory of the church. (Ps.104:15)

    Ge.6:3 "Man the message"

"And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."(v.3)

God is a Spirit and His covenant with Man sets two worlds of the body and of the Spirit. He shall not henceforth strive with man in the Man component, on the basis of the day of creation but in terms of the logos aspect of the Son who therefore represents the way for his salvation. Gospel of Christ is tagged by the command number 12. Every man shall bear his burden and shall be responsible to keep this covenant "Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."(Ps.50:5). Predestination disperses all spiritual blessings in his Son to man who is committed. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.

    'Yet his days shall be'

Jesus chose 12 disciples, which gives us the clue: He represents the Gospel of his Father. As the logos aspect he is Four while as a Son he is tagged by the command number Three. The will of God in the key verse sets his days as 120 days. (4x3x10) The number 10 refers to the Law of the Lord.

The man holds two worlds, which are about the heart a spiritual space. By his life hidden in heavenly place he has length, breadth and height, which is time. By setting his days to the Law, which is settled in heaven every man has a spiritual volume in terms of the Gospel. Each member of the body of Christ consequently is an angel as well as man. "The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal./ And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel."(Re.21:16-17)

"As he is so are we in this world"(1 John 4:17) has only a single measure that of the spiritual body,'the 'body thou hast prepared me.' Holding on to Christ the head we are of the selfsame measure, that of both angel and of man.

    Ge.2:8 "Eden"

"And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed."

No one has located where Eden is actually but it is no matter. Fellowship of God with Man has an address for which the Spirit has only supplied the Garden as a reference point. The Son represents for us the Man component in the Fellowship so he is assigned Eden as the word of God says, 'The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool."(Is.66:1). Treat it as the kingdom of the dear Son and it explains where our blessings come from.

"And a river went out of Eden to water the garden." This river is associated with Jesus Christ which is how the Spirit has added details to the blessedness of the children of God. In the colloquy with the Samaritan woman he makes clear,"but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." It is provided by the grace of Jesus Christ. In the preceding verse he makes a distinction of the water issuing from his domain to the world of the Sprit, the garden and the water at the Jacob's well. " Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again." ( John 4:13-14) The world of the Samaritan woman may have as with the rural life revolved around the village well but receiving Jesus Christ as the Messiah changed her life forever. Her thirst that was never by sated by water she daily drank from is evident, "The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw."(v.15)

The Spirit instructs us that Adam's world was special because God had planted the garden in his Son for Adam and Eve. Everything pertaining to life and godliness was on the house to want some useless advise from the serpent.

The truth of the matter is the river beginning at this point shall continue to the last chapter unbroken. (Re.22:1) This pure water of the river of life also serves as the river of time about which the entire God document is fleshed out.

God's attributes (D through G); Divinity; Essence; Father; God

These characteristics all are involved with the Trinity to some respect; but we will not attempt to "parse out" specific attributes related to any member of the Godhead in this posting but get into general characteristics here unique to the Lord. Divine has a sort of untouchable royalty associated with the sentiment behind the meaning; which of course sort of fits in with the "essense" generally of His precence. Father and God also are pretty well interchangeable as to our designation of the almighty Lord.

Divinity: God is high and exalted but not remote. Isaiah 57:15 states: "For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever, whose name is holy: 'I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.' Philippians 2:7 shows how Christ emptied Himself from divine form and became a servant. Divinity is used in a handful of other verses as well; but we understand the condescension Christ did for our behalf as part of the "Divine counsel" ( Psalm 82:1).

Essence: To sum God up would bring unique characteristics (the three "O"s-omnipresence; omnipotence and omniscience which will be discussed later in the O section). God is to be worshipped in "Spirit and truth" ( John 4:24). He also came bodily and we must believe He came in the flesh (1 John 4:2) to have saving faith; thus we don't adhere to a "gnostic" gospel. His Godhead is important and apparently evident from creation (King James version Romans 1:20) which also BTW mentions His Divine nature.

He who denies the Son doesn't know the Father ( 1 John 2:23). Therefore we must hold to the Christian faith where there is the Messiah in Christ promised in the O.T.; as well as God the Father and the Spirit which lives within His elect ( Ephesians 1:13-14).

Father and God: God was Christ's Father and our heavenly father.

    Hi Frankie J.

Let's put Matthew 5:48 in its context.

    Matthew 5:43-48.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR, AND HATE THINE ENEMY.

    But I say unto you, LOVE your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

    ( THERE'S THE CONTEXT! )

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Christ is giving an distinction between the days of old under the law and the coming Kingdom.

However here's much said about perfect love in 1 John 4:6-21

    John Speaks much on this.

    Here's a few verses from 1 John.

4:8 "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

4:10 "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

4:12 "No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1 John 4:21 is my favorite.

"And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also".

Did you notice it doesn't say "he who loveth God "SHOULD" love his brother also?

Loving your brother is a condition that the Holyspirit causes when one truly loves God.

Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

    God bless

    Friends,

After reading two threads, which stated that "we could never love like God loves" I felt compel by Holy Spirit to correct this belief, that's unscriptural.

    Paul states 2Cor 5:14

The love of God that flowed through him, he states in Gal 2:20 it was Christ that dwelling within him, living, moving & having His being within Paul, having His mind, heart & spirit. & where Christ dwells He brings His Father with Him John14:23 & God is love, he became an living expression of the Godhead, there's no way that in this abide abode that God love was not known, felt, displays in his life. Have you ever tried keeping your human love in? What about God ?

Jesus states in John15:10 "abide in His love"

We must believe that we can Ephesians 3:19 as we continue to grow in Grace in the knowledge of His will that

Hebrews 10:10 for faith Gal 5:6

1 John 1:14 perfect love experienced, is what John the beloved "tasted, seen & handled" 1John 4:12

1 Thessalonians 4:9 God taught them how to love as He loves

John 13:14 "as I have love you"

    Folks,

To my understanding, Jesus prayer in John 17:21-23 reveals a union between the Spirit & Soul of our Creator & his creatures that unites us in such an wonderous way, that it took Divinity to imagine it, & the Son accomplish all His Father's heart desire. Matt 17:5

    Jeremiah 32:38-41 Love never fails.

    OSAS: Proper respect for leadership.

In my last post I ended with a discussion of the legalism of the Pharisees; as well as those that have what I call "sloppy Agape" or attempt to gloss over sin and use grace and forgiveness of all past; present and future sins as their excuse. In both of these cases at least for those who remain in a church fellowship we see an idolization of the Pastor most often who no doubt is contributing to one or the other error mentioned here. A true believer would move on if there is heresy coming from one of their own (see Acts 20:30). Justifying self righteousness is aided; of course when someone is financially well to do and credits the church leadership that promises "sowing a seed" will add to prosperity for all (whether or not they are giving a large sum themselves). The opposite of this are those widows and old ladies who are fleeced to their last dollar mesmerized by a Pastor who promises health and happiness with obedience and warns against not doing this despite what common sense would otherwise show.

This first paragraph assumes corrupt leadership. Another sign of our faith is respecting elders and pastors who ARE feeding the flock and tending the sheep properly. (see 1 Timothy 5:17). Disrespect of such authority often mainfests in impatience if a sermon runs 5 minutes late; frustration when genuine financial needs are brought up; lack of participation and interest in prayer and doing service projects in the church and for the comunity; etc. Beyond this; the admonitions of 1 John about loving the brethren are ignored (see 1 John 4:20). Such parishioners will sometimes leave; and we shouldn't strive to force them to stay.

There are others attempting to spread false doctrines which were of course never part of the true flock (see 1 John 2:19). They may leave but if not need to be dealt with lest they be a cancer that affects the whole flock (see warning in Galatians 5:9).

LET US MEDITATE ON MATTHEW 10:16!!!

"The word of the Lord are pure,"(Ps.12:6)

God is a Spirit. Worship of God is in the matter of creature giving glory to the Highest. The memorial of in heaven shows the subject matter and object of reverence. The four beasts for example never broke off from their devotion while they explained to St John of the significance of the bound book with seven seals. (Re.4: 8-9)."

While the Lamb opened one seal one beast says, 'Come and see.'(Re.6: 1). Thus with every beast and in the midst of these four beasts a voice is heard when the third seal is broken, "And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine (Re.6: 6)". Worship of God is in spirit and in truth. ( John 4: 23-24). The voice in the middle spoke language of the Spirit on non-verbal mode.

The medium of instruction is faith the same article our Savior Lord employed to do His perfect will, which to our intent and purpose is obedience. Thus spiritual understanding is what we require in order to be perfected as a man of God, 'thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

" Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered./ And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."(Ro.8:26-27) Literally interpreting the quotes in the Bible is like watching a 3-d film without polaroid glasses. Faith makes one hear the word of God both Father and the Son in focus.

    Brother Jim Miller:

    Is God a universalist?

Isaiah 48:16 ...and HIS Spirit has SENT ME ......

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify, that the Father SENT his son to be SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD....

ONLY the carnal mind of man refuses to BELIEVE that Christ will not do what his Father SENT him TO DO.

Can one be the saviour of the world UNLESS he saves the world.

Hebrews 2:8 ... we see NOT YET all things put under him .....

Ephesians 2:8 .... that in the AGES TO COME ......

Is one foolish enough to believe this age is all there is, why is it so hard to believe Christ will save most in the AGES TO COME.

    Your SAVED from DEATH.

    God Bless YOU!

Glory to God, God Bless You.

    1 John 4:16 KJV

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

"In Christianity, Universalism is a theological position that posits that all individuals, regardless of their faith or actions in life, will ultimately be reconciled with God and attain salvation. This belief has historically been considered heretical by many mainstream Christian denominations, especially those that adhere to doctrines of eternal damnation for the unrepentant.

Universalism: Known historically as apokatastasis, the belief that all persons will be saved. Hence universalism involves the affirmation of universal salvation and the denial of eternal punishment. Universalists believe that ultimately all humans are somehow in union with Christ and that in the fullness of time they will gain release from the penalty of sin and be restored to God. Twentieth-century universalism often REJECTS the deity of Jesus and explores the "universal" bases of all religions. See also Apokatastasis.

1 John 4:6 (KJV) 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of ERROR.

    End of introduction to OSAS

Once saved always saved is kind of like the word "Rapture"; the verses about being sealed with the Spirit until the Day of Redemption ( Eph. 4:30) basically indicate that once HIS work is completed we cannot "undo" it. We have passed from "death to life" ( John 5:24) if we truly believe; and 1 John 3:14 shows the same author indicating EVIDENCE through loving one another (specifically the brethren) that we are saved; as well as showing that if WE DON'T we are liars and the truth is not in us (1 John 4:20).

My first point is that there is always evidence of the Hope that is within us if it truly exists ( 1 Peter 3:15). The second point goes with it that we preach the truth; any other Gospel is "anathema" ( Gal. 1:8-9). Interestingly; 1 Corinthians 16:22 2 verses before the end of the book state that if any man does NOT love the Lord Jesus Christ let him be "anathema". These two verses domenstate we need truth and love; one doesn't work independently of the other.

I will make a general statement for my third point. The more knowledge we have; the more responsibility we have. Hence; there is greater punishment for those who walk away from the truth and go back to the world than those who never knew it in the first place ( 1 Peter 2:20-21). We only need to look at Lucifer himself to see how pride brought his judgment without mercy; since he was a Cheribum that led worship of music in heaven itself for an unknown time; created perfect in all his ways before that time ( Ezekiel 28:15).

The fourth point is related to the third; that much head knowledge apart from the inner man being renewed daily ( 2 Cor. 4:16) is at best a fruitless venture; at worst again leads to greater damnation without accompanying faith. Such a man often obsesses on one doctrine and ignores the integrity of all scripture; or worse can justify a sin by not being a Berean and "rightly dividing the Word" ( 2 Tim. 2:15) despite what all their church friends may say.

    Psalm 78:22-25

Bread from heaven (2 of 2)

God sent his only begotten Son and the Spirit sets an action from the nation of Israel in order to emphasize what he was there for. In the divine Will of God, which is multi-layered, Jesus, the Lamb slain before the worlds began is same as the Lamb of God. Similarly of the corn of heaven the Israelites were fed with manna. In the fulness of time He sent his Son. Jesus declared, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven."( John 6:48-51)

Manna is qualified as 'angel's food'. Angel in this context refers to word of God and referring to the will of God they are the saints called according to the pleasure of His will. When Satan tempted Jesus he challenged him., "He said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread./ But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."(Matt.4: 3-4) Satan without understanding the basic quality of bread of heaven for which his body had to be broken first, was merely shooting air. ("My meat is to do the will of God"- John 4:34) Angel's food refers generally speaking to the will of God which preserved the cloud of witnesses of whom we in particular are shown in the night vision of Daniel. The writer to the Hebrews speaks of them, "seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,"(He.12:1-2). They in short refer to the world of the Spirit and our heart about which we are working out our salvation with patience.

    GiGi on Numbers 35-YHWH instructs...

    1-YHWH

    2-Yahweh,

    3-Yehovah,

    4-Elohim,

    5-Adonai,

    6-HaShem,

    7-Yahusha

    8-YEHshia

    9-Jehovah

    10-YEHvah

These 10 are one.Wouldn't they be the name of the father of the Jews? John 8:44-45.

I am asking because according to the Word of GOD-the Word is GOD-, Acts 4:11-12 say:

11-JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other NAME under HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.(Yes, there is none other NAME under HEAVEN except JESUS,that is the NAME that the own GOD chose for He Himself.JESUS said:I and my Father are One- John 10:30.And in the fourth Day after Adam,or around 2000 years ago,JESUS said: My Father worketh hitherto(it was still the fourth Day),and I work- John 5:17). In my understand,GOD was never called by nicknames as above listed. The name of GOD is only one:JESUS.

I don't quite understand why people lend credence to Kabbalistic and esoteric, and spiritists, sources(?)Think about it.

"Yehovah", "Yehovih", et al. as above listed, are considered sacred names in Kabbalah,so what? I find this absurd. But what does the Word of GOD say? 1Tim.4:1-2:

    1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of GOD:because many false prophets are gone out into the world- 1John 4:1.

    1Jn 5:19-20:

19 We know that we are of GOD,and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

20 And we know that the Son of GOD is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

May our Lord GOD bless and keep us,and give us His protection, now,and for ever.

    Amen

Now the time is of harvest, not to sow. Be ready. The harvest is the END of the world; and the reapers are the messengers(of the Lord)-Mat.13:39.

And Paul Apostle warned-1Cor.15:24-25: -> 24 The END cometh, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to GOD, even the Father; when He shall have PUT DOWN ALL RULE and ALL AUTHORITY and POWER. 25 For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies UNDER His feet.

Remember: Our Lord JESUS left very clear: In the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn- Matthew 13: 39 & 30.

Furthermore, He also said- John 4:36-37: -> 36 He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both He that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth(JESUS sowed), and another reapeth(the messengers).

Don't forget: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted-Eccl.3:1-2.

    The Word is GOD, self-executing.

    Get ready

    Hi GiGi,

I agree with what you are saying, I know I have, and you have said here before, we grow daily, and our understandings have changed over the years. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to truth as we can bear it or willing to use it. What I am saying is when we study, we are in search of truth whether it agrees with what we have been taught or not.

But when we study in prayer without what we have been taught in our mind and if what we are shown by the Spirit is what we have been taught, great. What if it is not? Are we willing to accept the truth? What will it cost? Are we willing to be persecuted by church members, friends', family members if we accept the truth and speak it? We are to worship God, in spirit and in truth, John 4:23-24.

If we are not willing to embrace the truth, regardless of what it will cost us, it will never be shown to us. I know we do not agree on one doctrine, but are we willing to honestly study any doctrine for the truth? All I say is in love and caring. I hope you take this in love and are not offended.

    God bless,

    Dear Valswords,

I think you've come to a good place to get some advice regarding your issue at hand. FrankieJ touched on some for you, and there are a lot of folks here that are very loving/caring and have great Biblical insight in regards to the subject of marriage and adultery.

If I'm understanding, you stated that you feel uncomfortable living in sin and would like to address it in some manner. You also stated that Jesus didn't mention anything to the Samaritan woman. John 4:18 He may have, and it wasn't noted/recorded, it could have been just between the two of them. Also, after her encounter with Jesus she may have had a spiritual life changing moment that would be the motivation for her to make the necessary changes in her life too extricate herself from the sinful situation she was living in. We just don't know all those details.

Here's my thoughts on your situation. You have some options:

1- Get married if you want to live together and remain in a sexual relationship.

2- Live together as friends that love and care for each other without sex of any kind in the picture. Without sex there is no adultery, so no sin. This relationship would be like 2 siblings living together, a son and his Mother, I could go on, or any number of people living together loving and caring for each other and sharing their resources without any sex in the relationship.

3-Get out of the relationship and remove the sin from your life.

This life we have on this earth is very short, our next life is for eternity, I can understand your need to get it right with God on this issue. God can and will forgive you of all your prior sins, and each new day is a fresh start, so I applaud you for listening to that small still voice inside you urging you to stop sinning.

Pray to God for His help on this, His Holy Spirit is urging you to change, call on His strength, and His guidance to steer you free from not only this sin, but all sin.

    GBU
