Dear Alex, lets go back to our conversation.

When the Scriptute says that God will pour His Spirit to all people, does it is literally mean to ALL people no matter what they want or believe? If this is the case then the muslims, the buddhists and all other people have got the Holly Spirit that "leads them to the truth?" The truth of their religion? This can't be right, can it?

Lets see what Jesus said about this.

    John 14:16-17

" And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

Jesus said that the world can not receive the HS because they don't know It.

    Read also Galatians 4:6

" And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."

The above says that the HS is given by God only to His children. Can we agree on that?

Now if we don't really need anybody else than the HS to teach us the Word of God, how come there are so many different beliefs amongst Christians? Don't we all have the HS that leads us to the truth? Which one (truth)? If that is the case why God has placed teachers in the church? If all churches are falling away during these last days how come that that Isaiah said about the knowledge of God covering the whole world comes true? Because the HS will teach people? Do you see many people outside churches that know or want to know anything about God? Since this practically doesn't happen, shouldn't we think that the scripture means something else? Remember that Paul said to Timothy that people of the last days will be the worst of all ages? 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Question. Can one be saved if one doesn't believe in Jesus? There are so many scriptures that say the opposite. I give you some. John 3:18-19, John 5:24, John 5:28-29, Acts 2::38 etc

There is more to say but not now...

    Dear Alex

    My thoughts about this.

Firstly just to mention that the original text uses the word attract instead of draw. Attract is a more powerful word than draw. How does God attract people to Jesus? The answer is by showing Jesus' love to people. How does God show Jesus' love to people? By His only Son's sacrifice for the salvation of people. Does God's love attracts all people to Jesus? The answer is no. Most of people do not want to know anything about Jesus and the salvation He offers. ( Matthew 7:13-14, John 5:40). And here is where the free will of people comes in. God will not force anybody to accept His offer. You either accept it or you don't. Now how do people get to know about God's love? Is God actually going to tell them Himself or use an angel for that? No, this task is for us to do it. See what Paul says in Romans 10:14-15

" How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" So it is our responsibility to bring the Good News to all people. We are the tools that God wants to use for this task. So let us make ourselves ready for this ministry. GBU

Hi Roy. Briefly, the Son of Man is a title used exclusively by Jesus - His disciples never addressed Him as such.

Jesus used it to emphasize His humanity ( Matthew 8:20; Mark 8:31), though there were occasions where He used the title, Son of God ( John 3:18; John 5:25; John 9:35-37; John 10:36; etc).

The title, Son of Man, also goes back to the Book of Daniel where the Son of Man would inherit the everlasting kingdom of God ( Daniel 7:13,14). It is a designation of the Messiah Who would inherit God's everlasting Kingdom.

At His trial Jesus acknowledged that He was indeed the Son of Man - the one who would bring in God's everlasting kingdom ( Matthew 26:64,65). When the religious leaders heard this they accused Him of blasphemy - making Himself equal with God.

The purpose of the title seems to be Jesus' Own emphasis on His Humanity. And through His Humanity, doing the Works of God as none other had done before & bringing the Words of God as they never heard before, the people would also see that this was no ordinary man (as was believed, the son of Joseph & Mary), but One of God, sent by God. Jesus' Life even till His Death proved to at least some folk that this Son of Man was indeed the Son of God: they needed to come to realize this fact by observation, not by His proclamation.

Encouragement for any day...Salvation as it is in the Holy King James Bible:

There are many uncertainties in this life, but your soul's salvation does NOT need to be one of them. You can KNOW beyond any shadow of a doubt that you are saved and on your way to heaven. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life" (1st John 5:13). We all know that we have to die, but we don't know when.

What must you do to be saved? You must repent and received the free gift of Grace of God by Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Read these verses below to help guide you along with path:

    John 14:6

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

You can't place your faith in a pastor/preacher/teacher, you can't place it in a movement and you most certainly can't place it in a church ministry (although not all have fallen away). You can only find truth and life (Salvation) in Christ Jesus. Whereby we hear this verse:

Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You cannot earn Salvation or get it by works. Many others use legalism as a way to add works to the simple message of Salvation. But there's not a work you can do to get saved. Christ fulfilled everything on the Cross.

    Titus 3:5

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

    Ephesians Chapter 2

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

So knowing this...how do we get saved, I'll leave God's Word to speak above mine own:

    Romans 10:9

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Revelations 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Jesus told all the churches that he knew their works. If God only saw the righteousness of Christ he could not correct us. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. I believe that cleansing us from all sin is actual and covering us from sin implies that it is only imaginary. Our faith is counted(valued) for(as)righteousness. When we disobey God it is because our lack of faith. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I agree that we need to walk in truth.
  • Kevin - In Reply on James 2 - 2 years ago
    1 John 5:16

There are different degrees of sin, but all sin still needs covered by the blood. For without the shedding of (His Blood) there is no forgiveness of sin.

Sins of the flesh are greater than sins of the body for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. If you are married, would your spouse be more forgiving if you look at another person in lust or if you actually committed adultery.

Either way the point is that sin leads to darkness and blind's a person vision. For the unbeliever sin can separate you from receiving God's forgiveness for God shall not always strive with man.

Shrek said it best to donkey. People are like onions, they have layers (of darkness). Only the Word (Christ) can penetrate thru the layers - nothing else. John 8:36 - If He sets you free - you are free indeed.

For the believer nothing even sin shall separate you from the love of God in Christ, no powers in this age or the age to come. But a person will have many troubles if they magnify sin over the magnification of God. Philippians 4:5

Do not be overcome with the things of this world be overcome with Christ! His mercy, His grace are endless. Be strong in the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us be conscious and deliberate in what we are pursuing! We are called to be Savior conscious! Be blessed!

Praise God and to Him be the Glory!

How can anyone tell Jesus he was wrong? There isn't time or space to write all there is to say about sin on this board but it won't enter into Gods heaven.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, (and sin no more.)

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: (sin no more), lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins
  • D W L - In Reply on Romans 6:11 - 2 years ago
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

This could be a very extended subject, I'm sure you would agree.
  • Daniel - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Tom,

The verses do not mean you can lose Salvation. The doctrines teaching that Christians lose Salvation is Lordship Salvation from Calvinism and very contrary to true Christianity. The meaning of Hebrews 6:4-6: There were Christians that were known in this time who had heard the true word of Salvation and it's thought some even made a false profession to accepting Christ as their Savior. Deep down, although they follow Christians and went through the motions...they were not saved and their works (fruits of their Salvation) were shown as reprobate. Thus, this is why they were marked as fallen away. This is no different than Judas Iscariot who'd followed Jesus, walked with the other disciples, professed Christ but deep down had never accepted Him.

The great Bible teacher, Dr. Ray Stanford (1916-2012) said, "The moment you are saved, you become a member of the body of Christ. If you could ever become unsaved, part of Christ's own body would go to hell"

    Think about that.

Also consider this, the Gift of Salvation is given of God to man through Christ Jesus. We didn't die for sin and set anyone free. Anything man builds or gives can be taken away. But, not the things of God. God will never and has never "removed" His free gift of Salvation when it's genuine. That's a Calvinistic lie.

The assertation that one can lose Salvation is the belief that one was saved by works and not by Grace.

If I cannot do good works to get saved, then how can I do bad works to lose salvation? Neither would have been saved in the first place and they would be those in Hebrews 6:4-6.

John 5:24 states: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

Jesus said in John 10:28, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
  • Dav47 - In Reply on 2 Corinthians 4 - 2 years ago
1st off; GOD is highly intelligent and is JUDGE. HE created all the stars and knows them by name. HE knows when a single hair falls from HIS creatures. HE is a heart knower and only judge who is a righteous and just JUDGE. No one will perish that doesn't deserve too ( Romans 14:12). There is no 2nd chances but there are many who never got a 1st chance. It is written the millennium will be a time of teaching. The elect will be able to go to sister/brother/near kin and try to save them.

John 5:25 There will not be 1 soul that will perish that want have a chance to choose to side with GOD or Satan, choice completely theirs.

  • Chris - In Reply on John 1 - 2 years ago
Brother Giannis, thank you for your comment. As a young person attending 'Church', I was taught that Jesus was always in Heaven (from the beginning), a part of the Trinity (therefore in spirit form), & was sent to Earth to become Man to fulfil God's Plan. I think you're saying the same thing but adding that since God's Word came to the people, Jesus was also called the "Word of God".

Ordinarily, I would agree with that view. But in studying the Scriptures, the following convinces me to believe differently.

John 1:1 (He was never known by this Name Jesus - only that the Word existed within the Godhead, just as the Holy Spirit exists).

John 1:14 (that Word was given flesh - the Word's Form was changed from Spirit to flesh).

Matthew 1:21 (that humanly birthed Babe would be called Jesus - a Name not used or known before in Heaven but now given to this new Life on Earth, coming as 'Yahweh is Salvation').

Luke 1:35 (the first title used of this Babe: "The Son of God". I don't find this revealed anywhere else in the Scriptures (OT) that the Son of God existed in Heaven (i.e. as a Son) - He only became a Son through His Incarnation).

Hebrews 1:1,2 (as God's Word was given to Israel via the prophets, so through His Son now God speaks to them & us. The same Word of God: once to the prophets, now the Word made flesh to speak, not as a prophet, but as the Son of God, God's Word in the flesh).

From all this, I don't deny the existence of Jesus in Heaven before the incarnation, but don't find evidence that He was called Jesus (in Heaven) or functioned as He did on Earth while in Heaven. Rather, I'm compelled to accept "there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" (1 John 5:7). The Word that always was within the Godhead is now Jesus seated as the Lord in flesh at His Father's right Hand.
  • Adam - In Reply - 2 years ago
The Bible literally refers to God as Godhead, so the few who are uncomfortable with that term can simply use the word Godhead instead. There's a mountain of scriptures showing the dynamic and divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We're here to defend Jesus Christ and anyone trying to discredit or smear His divinity. We should all pray for wisdom, understanding and truth as we read the scriptures so that we are not mislead by the enemy and buy into things that merely fulfill our itching ears.

  • WHAT AND WHO IS MEDIATOR - In Reply on Exodus 20 - 2 years ago
    Commentary:

    Mediator

"One who intervenes between two persons who are at variance, with" a view to reconcile them. This word is not found in the Old "Testament; but the idea it expresses is found in Job 9:33, in" "the word "daysman" (q.v.), marg., "umpire." "This word is used in the New Testament to denote simply an "internuncius, an ambassador, one who acts as a medium of" communication between two contracting parties. In this sense Moses is called a mediator in Gal. 3:19. "Christ is the ONE AND ONLY mediator between God and man ( 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24). He makes reconciliation between God and man by his all-perfect atoning sacrifice. Such a mediator "must be at once divine and human, divine, that his obedience and" "his sufferings might possess infinite worth, and that he might" possess infinite wisdom and knowlege and power to direct all things in the kingdoms of providence and grace which are "committed to his hands ( Matt. 28:18; John 5:22, 25, 26, 27); and" "human, that in his work he might represent man, and be capable" of rendering obedience to the law and satisfying the claims of "justice ( Heb. 2:17, 18; 4:15, 16), and that in his glorified" humanity he might be the head of a glorified Church ( Rom. 8:29). "This office involves the three functions of prophet, priest, and "king, all of which are discharged BY JESUS both in his estate" of humiliation and exaltation. These functions are so inherent in the one office that the quality appertaining to each gives character to every mediatorial act. They are never separated in the exercise of the office of MEDIATOR

    * if you have not accepted Jesus as your personal LORD & Savior. Please do that right now, in prayer. 2Corinthians 6:2, 1Thessalonians 5:9, John 14:6,

Hebrews 1, note Hebrews 1:14, if you have received Jesus Christ as Savior, then the visible/invisible image was it fighting on your behalf?

    * If you have been involved with anything associated with darkness & evil knowingly or others around you or in your dwelling have. Destroy those things, get it away from you. Turn away from those things. Ask forgiveness from our Father in Heaven. Matthew 6:23, Luke 11:34-36,

    * Ephesians 5:11,

    Ephesians 6,

    Hopefully these are helpful.

Jesse, the bible teaches we do. It is called free will. If OSAS was true then the rendering of scripture would be completely different. Yet, there are way too many if/then conditional statements directly related to salvation to think that we somehow become robots. Yes, God is powerful and sovereign enough, but, that is not how he has set up his plan of salvation. We must abide in Christ to receive the promise of eternal life. That is God's plan. You seem to be making a straw man argument.

We are kept by the power of God through a continual enduring faith. If we are automatically secure and could not remove ourselves from God's hand, as John 28-29 highlights, then where is the bible verse saying so? Because I see in verse 27 that it is only those who are following Christ are secure in the Fathers hand.

And just as I responded to the holy spirit working in me to receive Christ as salvation, I need to remain in Christ. 1 John 5:13 tells us we can have assurance of salvation. However, if the one who does not remain in Christ was "never saved" to begin with, then no one can ever have peace and assurance because no one can read into the future.

The bible seems pretty transparent that we are saved by faith, are continuing to be saved and safe in the hand of God by faith, and will have final salvation if we endure to the end.

I read your commentary on Matt. 24:13 and the word "shall" denotes a future occurrence of salvation, not past. You are right that it is in the Aorist principle. Aorist can also be future tense and if it was past tense wouldn't Matt 24:13 have read "all who have believed will ensure to the end"? But it doesn't.

Thank you for your reply, but, I don't see the sense in going back and forth on this. I have read the other posts from everyone and Erich/Doug really did a great job using scripture to support conditional salvation with clarity.

I cannot describe how much I miss my parents and grandparents. Like you said, I had to decide to live in the NOW.

So when the Lord called me into evangelism, I went. I made mistakes, but my heart was pure. I didn't have time to think how people had treated me prior, before I was saved.

Jesus helped me be "one of those people" that you feel you've known many years. Good news carrier with feet lol.

I have happy expectation about heaven. To see family, friends, people I prayed with, and for. I'm still here, so I'm always looking at faces to see that one person who sees the Light of Jesus, on my face. Old age isn't happening. I've got all this hope to give away, before the "door is closed".

    Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    John 14:1

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

    John 10:38

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

    John 5:47

But if ye believe not his writings, [Bible] how shall ye believe my words?

    Love these little verses!!

Sister Suze, we are the body, Christ, the Word, is the LIFE in US, the body.

Christ said when you need a word to speak or a scripture to quote it will come to your mind, because THE WORD is the LIFE of the Body (YOU).

    PROPHECY:

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my SPIRIT within you, and CAUSE you (the body) to walk in my statutes, and keep my judgements, and DO THEM.

    FULFILLED at pentecost:

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (the life) that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Your (the body) lips move because the life (Christ in You) CAUSES them to move.

Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandments of HIS LIPS (you are ONE with Christ)(LIFE is Christ and BODY is You).

Job 27:4 My (yours and Christ) LIPS shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

Job 2:10 ...in all this Job did not sin with his lips.

Psalms 12:4 Who (one with no knowledge of truth) have said, With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are our own: who is Lord over us.

We were PREDESTINATED to be the IMAGE OF CHRIST.

John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing ...

Christ is the BODY that holds the LIFE of the FATHER.

John 15:5 .....for without me you can do nothing ....

WE are the BODY that holds the LIFE of Christ.

John 17:22 And the glory that thou gavest me I have given them, that they MAY BE ONE, even as WE ARE ONE.

Is it not mind boggling to walk in TRUTH.

    God Bless YOU!

This prophetic psalm shows Judas Iscariot and all the evil to befall him and his descendants.

Note the first couple verses where prayer and a general attitude of love was shown (Christ until the end had him as a "trusted friend" ( Psalm 41:9). The curses on the wicked indeed can affect generations in the future (v. 10). Satan himself; in fact entered Judas after the sop was offered and at that point Jesus told him to do what he had planned quickly. When we look at verse 6; we are also reminded of the nation of Israel as a whole ( John 5:43). They will accept Antichrist with Satan at his "right hand" as Revelation states. Verse 18 speaks of another verse about Judas mentioned in Acts 1:18 and detailed in the Gospel of Matthew when he fell off the rope he hung himself with. We are also reminded of the situation of Acts 12:23 with Herod; and other verses where similar ailments took away the wicked.

From verse 20 on; we of course can apply similar logic with David's situation as the Son of David; namely Christ Himself. Verse 28 seems to refer to the Resurrection of the wicked (when they rise); as every knee shall bow; every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father in Philippians 2:10-11; but also in Isaiah and many other books of scripture as well.

We must look to Deuteronomy to understand that God still blesses the "thousands" that call on His name; despite generational banishment and curses for the disobedience and sin actions of ancestors ( Deut. 5:9-10). This chapter though shows how someone can be called AND chosen; albeit with the foreknowledge that they would be of the Devil from the beginning. This was of course to fulfill prophecy; but also God uses the enemy to buffet servants such as Job and Paul to accomplish His purposes. Let us not ascribe to such behavior ourselves! Surely we do not understand all His ways; nor forsee how all things for those who LOVE Him turn out for the good ( Romans 8:28).

    Brother bill mc:

mark 9:23 jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

what is it that we have to believe? what's inside this belief that make all things possible?

ephesians 4:4 there is one body, and one spirit ......

ephesians 4:6 one god and father or all .....

christ is the body, the father (spirit< truth< life) dwells in the body (of christ).

john 5:26 for as the father hath life in himself; so hath he given the son to have life in himself.

john 5:19 .....the son can do nothing of himself .....

christ is the body of the father, everything is done by the father through the action of the body. his son, christ.

all things are possible for christ, because he has the father indwelling him.

through the operation of the cross, we can now have the father (spirit< truth

Circular arguments on this topic remind me of an Abbott and Costello "who's on first" skit. In case anyone isn't aware, here are some scriptures describing one God with three components: father, son, and holy spirit. We likely will never 100% comprehend God nor should we expect to, but the fact is the Bible describes God as a triune Godhead, uses plural terms, says the three are "one", and I will trust God's Word over man's word. Christians will keep sharing the truth of the scriptures everytime someone tries to challenge God's word.

    Godhead:

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:29

    Romans 1:20

    John 1:1

    1 John 5:7-8

    Genesis 1:26

    Genesis 11:6-7

    John 10:30

    John 8:19

    Philippians 2:5-8

    2 Corinthians 5:19

    John 1:3

    Matthew 28:19

    1 Peter 1:2

    2 Corinthians 13:14

    Deuteronomy 6:4

    John 14:10

    John 20:28

    1 John 2:22-24

    Matthew 1:23-25

Isaiah 7:14 - Jesus is called Immanuel which means "God with us"

Salvation is a gift from God. The Blood He shed on the Cross, the Faith we had to repent and received His Grace...to be born again only truly happens once. You cannot undo what God has done. Only God had that power and He never says in His Word that Salvation could be removed.

Read the words from Dr. Ray Stanford (1916-2012) and he once said, "The moment you are saved, you become a member of the body of Christ. If you could ever become unsaved, part of Christ's own body would go to hell"

Now, what does the Holy KJV Bible say?

We are clearly taught from God's Word that works are NOT essential to our salvation. Titus 3:5 states... "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..." And again in Ephesians 2:8,9 we are told, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." We are all Hell-deserving sinners! We do NOT have anything to do with salvation except to receive God's free gift by FAITH. Salvation is receiving, NOT giving.

If I cannot do good works to get saved,

then how can I do bad works to lose salvation?

Jesus said in John 10:28, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." -1st John 5:13

Some believe because Salvation is eternal...we could go back to sin without consequence. No, there are grave consequences and we do not have a sin license because we have eternal security:

"What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." - Romans 6:15

Be of peace, live a Holy life risen in Christ, read your Bible as they are our instructions for life and God bless you!

    Luke 9:28-36. Mount of Transfiguration

Jesus was talking to Moses and Elijah

Peter and John saw this taking place and were thinking they should build churches; instead of just "being in the moment."

Then Father God tells them, this is my beloved Son__Hear Him!

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    * Romans 1:20*

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

I do not want to offend you, but the word "Trinity". It is a word that the Catholic Church uses. The word used in the Bible approved by most all Churches is Godhead.

The word Triune simply means three.

When Chris returns, if you see him in here ask him about the Council of Churches; history,

I think you'll see what I mean if you look up those scriptures.

    Blessings, Mishael
