  • Ryan on John 5:43 - 11 years ago
He came in his Father's name, because his Father's name is Jesus. God was known by many names/titles in the past. But it is written that Jesus is God's name, and the only name to fulfill what is clearly written! Such as but not limited to, Malachi 1:11, Jesus name fulfills this. Philippians 2:9, Again, Jesus name is known above every name. Isaiah 9:6 tells us Jesus is God, and St. Matthew 28:19 was followed by the Apostles when they baptized in Jesus name only; the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Acts 2:21, the name that saves!
  • Keabetswe on John 5 - 11 years ago
The works that Jesus did bear witness of Him, that through grace we are saved. The works that the Father commanded Jesus to do gave a testimony to the law that through Jesus men will be saved (verse 15)... those works were contrary to the whole system of the traditions of the world. But if we commit ourselves to the law, to do the works of the law, then our conscience will bear witness against us that we will be judged by the law, and it is written, no flesh shall be justified by the law.
  • William Who Loves Trains on Isaiah 25 - 11 years ago
This is one of my most favorite scriptures in the Bible. Not only that but this is a great scripture to comfort those who believe that death will always be. I can understand why many would feel this way but this scripture and others like 1 Corinthians 15:25, 26 and Revelations 21:4 to name a couple to a few more prove and offer hope that death will be a thing of the past. To back up what I'm speaking from Jehovah God's (his name according to Psalm 83:18) word ( 2 Timothy 3:16), Psalm 37:29, another one of my favorite scriptures, shows that the "righteous will possess the earth" and "reside forever upon it." (New World Translation Bible, other scriptures I quote will come from this but I strongly encourage all reading this to read this in your copy of the Bible) and John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15 talk about the resurrection hope and promises that you will see your dead loved ones again.

This is I'll leave you with.

jesus is mercy and will heal sick
  • Thorwald Johansen on 1 Timothy 6:16 - 11 years ago
I believe that 1Timothy 6:16 refers to the same figure being described in John 5:37. There is a "Father" whom no man can see, nor hear His voice.

Many have seen The Lord God Almighty. This tells me, that the 'Father/Son/Holy Ghost' DOES NOT include Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the 'first born of all CREATION...The Son of The Son of The Trinity. Revelation 1:6 seems to back this up [GOD has a Father]. The Godhead ( Isaiah 44:6) is composed of two figures...The Lord God Almighty & Jesus Christ.

prayer of beliver is power enough to save any sinner. 1cor 5:5 deliver such people for the destruction of flesh, it may be related to 1 john 5:16-17 do not pray for those whose sins is unto death. 2cor 5:1 if the flesh is destroy we have an enternal one in heaven.
  • Angel on John 5 - 11 years ago
The man was not angry at Jesus he simply was answering the questions of the Jews which was probably the Pharisees who went around looking for those who violated the laws. They were learned men but use that knowledge and the power they had as Pharisees for their own gain and to hold that power over the people. This is why Jesus said they would not believe Him. They knew the Bible of that time or Tora but they didn't use it to help the people but rather as a means of controlling them.

Once saved always saved is not debunked here. When we are saved the scripture says we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and we are sealed until the day of redemption. We are saved by the work of Christ and His sacrifice and payment for our sins not by anything "we" do. Salvation is not based on us but on Jesus and His shed blood.
  • Amon cherogony on John 5 - 11 years ago
    very encouraging
  • Brokenroad on John 5:15 - 11 years ago
It seems to me that the man was angry at Jesus for some reason. The previous verse, John 5:14, sounds like a rebuke from Jesus. Surely the man knew from his first encounter with the Jewish leaders that they were not looking for his healer in order to worship him.
  • Timothy on Revelation 11:4 - 11 years ago
I don't understand. It says standing before the God of Earth. That would be Satan right? 1 John 5:19
  • Murray Atkin on John 5:24 - 11 years ago
This verse along with many others debunks 'once saved always saved' ... believeth on me - means to continue believing in Jesus the Christ & can only be known through KJV
  • Dan on Daniel 7:14 - 11 years ago
The term God is a title not a name. As such can and does apply to the Father( 2 Peter 1:17),The Son ( John 5:16-18,23;Philip 2:6 "who being [Grk. remaining] in the form of God"; Heb. 1:8,10; Ps.102:25; Jn.20:28; 1Jn. 5:20; Exod. 3:14; Jn. 8:24. 58; Is. 44:6; Rev. 1:17-18; 2:8; Is. 6:1-10; Jn. 12:39-41), and of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 3:17) Also the word "serve" in Dan. 7:14 is only used 10 times in the bible, each referring to religious service or worship of Jesus.
  • Colby on John 5:6 - 11 years ago
Jesus wanted the man to pay attention. for him to receive healing, he had to focus on Jesus only.
  • Toni on 1 John 5:7 - 11 years ago
We are saved by believing that Jesus is the Son of the living God. Jesus is not God. He is His Son. Jesus is the word of God manifested in the flesh to bring salvation to them that believe on His name and call upon Him.
Jesus says in John 5:37-40 "And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."
Don't let the word become a stumblingblock. In that day many are going to come before Jesus and say didn't we testify in your name and cast out devils and Jesus is going to say "depart from me all ye workers of iniquity. I never knew ye." The only people Jesus is going to accept are the ones who had the faith to trust and believe that He is the Son of the living God.

40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

David was a great man, his love of the Lord is unmatched,a man after God's own heart, yet he made many mistakes and sins, but The Lord who could love him and use him because David truly asked for forgiveness, verse 7 doesn't tell us what his sins were in his youth, his enemies were more than the hairs of his head, most of his life was lived under Constance trouble and pressure, but God protected him, his whole life, if you take a stand for the Lord, and stay off the beaten path, like David and the Son of David you will learn what Luke 6:22, John 5:41 means, Psalms 25:19 All of God's Love ,forgiveness, and protection is in this great psalm. God Bless

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.>>> Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.(NOTE:no one is ever justifed by the law now as per Galatians 3:11-13)>>>> Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.Romans10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.>>>Now, Listen to OUR LORD JESUS say it, and believe on the FATHER. Why? He said it's needed.>>> John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Praise him now!! Peace be with you!>> John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
  • Antonio Coleman on Isaiah 9:6 - 11 years ago
There are is no such thing as God(s). There is only one and his name is Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:7 says there are three that bear record in heaven. The father the word and the holy spirit and these three are one. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with GOD the Word was GOD... That whole description was of Jesus. In the bible no one verse stands alone. There is always other verses that compliment and/or justify the initial verse that is being read. Prime example is the two verses I listed. Another example is John 8:58 Jesus said befor Abraham was I Am. In Exodus 3:14 GOD said to Moses I Am that I Am.

  • Sigmund Ivarsson on John 5 - 11 years ago
Why get involved in vain disputation that bare no fruit of the spirit. If ye be sons of God behave like it and if you are sons of the devil the same advice is true. In the words of a son of God does the father come to life in the words of the sons of hell arguments ensue. Now if I were just a son I would clearly hear my voice in his but I am the father and only my children recognize my voice. With these few words has judgement been made. Adam brought the fall, Abraham brought the promise, Moses brought the law, Jesus brought salvation to all and Elijah ushers in the kingdom of God where the will of the father is done on earth as it is in heaven.
  • _Rosalina_Sayson_Ko_Tapay_ on Ephesians 5 - 11 years ago
    @Ock

CHRIST being the HEAD of the CHURCH is the savior of the BODY ( Ephesians 5:23). The CHURCH are those He PURCHASED with His own blood ( Acts 20:28). So WE, being many, are ONE BODY in Christ, and every one members one of another ( Romans 12:5). Regarding the BIBLE which we believed as the BOOK of the compilation of the HOLY SCRIPTURES and the THE LAW OF GOD which was translated out of original tongue it was written, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" ( John 5:39); Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them ( Isaiah 34:16); All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2-Timothy 3:16)
