    John 17 and Predestination/Election

An interesting note in this chapter is in verse 14; where it is said that the world hated the Disciples. This is a departure from John 7:7 where He told them the opposite. Clearly; there was a change with understanding to the Apostles and whoever else stuck with Him; as they saw increasing resistance once miracles occurred and particularly when Christ got to the last weeks and months of His ministry when He was in a more public venue.

Verse 2 shows once again that saving faith or eternal life is given to all those given to Him (election); and verse 6 shows what we might call "perseverance of the saints". Verse 8 shows the RESULT of this that they have indeed "believed and received" them. The prayer in verse 9 further shows that the focus is not on the whole world but to believers.

Verse 15 and 16 asks His children to be kept from evil (or the evil one). The following verses (v. 17-20) basically talk about "sanctification"; with glorification in 21-24. The theme of unity also is evident; and once again verse 25 shows how the world doesn't know the Father but those to whom He has been sent know Him. Hence; our realization of truths comes from God initiating understanding. The chapter then discusses love between the Father and Christ and in His people.

We should always remember that there is a relationship; an intimate knowledge in the inner man between the Lord and individual believers. Especially in the light of our High Priest who suffered all things as we did but without sin ( Heb. 4:15). This is essentially a restoration of broken fellowship after Adam sinned; but also will lead to a superior state once we are in His presence than to where Adam was before he sinned. We will have an imperishable body; incorruptible; and without sin or the capacity to do so.

Dear "Wade Harrids" Acts 2:38 are words that many are saved by, and are my favorite words. It also says that: If there are any pp who doubt whether they should be baptized with water, they usually repent, as they understand the word here. Amen

Personally, i believe that a water baptism is a covenant of good conscience with the Lord. This is also confirmed by one of the Apostles in:

1 Peter 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Amen.

Personally, i also think we can change the tactics with water burial/baptism. Because many shy people don't actually get baptized. Because of the white apron they will dress with. Shows the most delicate things a person has.

A proper baptism must take place in the person's own everyday clothes. You could probably say that they should be freshly laundered in that case. In the sea under the sky it is not so difficult. But there is probably chlorine in the baptismal font.

God bless u and yours in Jesus name, love u in Christ John 7:10-24

    John 7 and predestination

This chapter is a continuation of a narrative indicting the unbelief Christ had to endure from all members of society. Of all His sufferings before the cross; perhaps this is the most neglected and unappreciated as it took up so much of his time and energy.

First off in verses 1-10 we see the unbelief of His own brethren (probably but possibly not necessarily exclusive to his mother; father; brothers and sisters although Joseph may have died by this point). Jesus' comment about not being His time yet could refer to the fact that He was still keeping things from those who would soon persecute Him once perceived as a threat such as Luke 5:14; or perhaps the full revelation which would occur at the cross.

Verse 15 shows once again their perception of a mere man which Christ responded to in verse 16-17 which once again shows the source of any true wisdom is from God above.

Following this; we once again have Christ validating doing Sabbath day healings to counter a repeated contentious issue. This helps to illustrate that when any TRUE miracles occur; persecution can't be too far behind.

Following this; another failed attempt to sieze Him occured with the Pharisees contending with those who believed in Christ. Apparently Elijah and a couple other prophets indeed came from Galilee; so the allegations of v. 52 were spurious. Since it wasn't His predetermined time to die yet; everyone scattered in v. 53

The medical term is called " hematohidrosis " extreme levels of stress, can cause it. " There are multiple blood veins netted around the sweat glands, in net formation, that constrict under the pressure of great stress" "fear and intense mental contemplation are the most frequent causes" recorded under National Library of Medicine, .gov

It can & did occur. Luke 22:44, "sweat as it were great drops of blood"

Let's look into Jesus' stress._._ he had known people were plotting to kill him, Matthew 17:22-23, Matthew 21:38, Mark 9:31, Luke 20:14, Luke 22:2, Jesus knew it was the religious hypocrites that were plotting instead of teaching the sheep (his beloved sheep) John 8:37, John 7:1,19,20 even calling him opposite of Christ, John 10:19,20,

Mark 10:34, here: Jesus even knew how & explained it. Isaiah 52, Psalms 22,

He knew he would be on public display, clothing taken from him, they would gamble for them: Psalms 22:18,19

Jesus knew he was being betrayed & even said go quickly, John 13:27,

Jesus knew the followers would scatter, anyone who loves those who depend on them in anyway never wishes to leave them, especially unprepared, afraid, in danger, alone, being pursued, John 17, John 10:11,12, Luke 12:4, Matthew 24:9,

Those are only some of the details. Extreme stress none of us have faced to that level. Hebrews 4:15,

Hopefully these are helpful to your discussion/ debate / controversy. 2Timothy 3:16,

    Living Water

    John 7:37-39

    37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thrist, let him come unto me, and drink.

    38. He that believeth on me, as the scriptures hath said, out of his belly shall flow of living water.

    39. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

"Do you believe the words of Apostle Peter? Peter speaks directly about when we are baptized we receive God's Holy Spirit!"

The word, "receive," and "Holy Spirit" are never found in the same verse in the KJV.

On the other hand, "receive/received" and "Holy Ghost" are found here:

    John 7:39

    John 20:22

    Acts 1:8

    Acts 2:33

    Acts 2:38

    Acts 3:21

    Acts 8:15

    Acts 8:17

    Acts 8:19

    Acts 9:17

    Acts 10:47

Acts 19:2 ("Holy Ghost" is mentioned twice here.)

    1 Thessalonians 1:6

Anything we can learn from this?

    1Peter 2:19,21,

Good conscience, Christ suffered giving us example, trusting GOD not man.

Please refer back to why Jesus suffered = Matthew 12:14, John 7:1, Matthew 12:1-13, because he healed on the Sabbath?

John 7:7 "The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil" John 8:44, Matthew 22:29,

Jesus corrected & rebuked the leaders in the religious sects & ignored their contradictory "mandates" even washing of hands.

HE disobeyed those in Governmental authority, because they were corrupt. Matthew 27:12,13,14, John 19:11, obeying GOD ALMIGHTY.

If you're referring to Our GOD Blessed Country USA. This website is global. The USA did not get the religious freedom it has by obedience to oppressive Gov. Please read the US Declaration of Independence & refer back to another scripture, 1Peter 2:14, Our "public servants" have not punished evildoers, but have actually committed Treasonous acts, putting Citizens in danger. We have a Duty given by our GOD to uphold law, order, safety of our people & protecting our freedoms. As Established within that document. Proverbs 31:9,

If you haven't noticed the chaos in the world after the falsified Election of 2020, please look & understand we affect the World for good, when we are strong, stable & blessing & helping other nations.

Let's not forget all of the Old Testament either.

How would Jesus handle these things today? Remember John 2:15 "And when He had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money and overthrew the tables." & Luke 19,

Cali, Gov. Fobid singing in Church Fellowship, GOD says sing, Psalms 98:4, Psalms 33:3,

GOD says Exodus 23:7, Deuteronomy 19:10,13, Deuteronomy 21:9 "So shall thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when you shall do which is right in the sight of the LORD"

    John 7:34

Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

    John 7:36

What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

    John 8:21

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go [heaven] ye cannot come.

Comment: only one of the thieves at the cross asked Jesus's forgiveness; to whom Jesus said, today you will be with Me in Paradise.

Indeed Mark. The Lord was "downplaying that part of His ministry so people wouldn't think that was all He was about". And probably I could add that both it & the fact that in His Knowledge of future events, the appointed time for His death had not arrived ( John 2:4; John 7:6,30; John 8:20). Jesus knew what He was doing and where & to whom He should minister - almost see Him regulating His Time on the Earth on a timetable, acting according to His Father's Will & Plan.

Dear "Jamie", See here it is not taken out.

    Psalms 83:18

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

    Isaiah 12:2

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

    Exodus 6:3

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

    Isaiah 26:4

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

In this context, it is a strong word. In KJV you have what is right. Some creeds have their own printing presses and can therefore make / raise / shorten as they wish. This will be confusing for those who read it.

My experience is KJV is the best. Sometimes i hear readings from other publishers and the words are unfortunately mixed so that even if i read in my KJV there is total confusion. My advice to you is to read a translation that you drop and stumble upon the words / settings and the like. Only KJV :)

Hope the answer can help you. For the Bible is meant to have a word that is understandable. Jehovah is also used by the Witnesses. I have no prior knowledge there. But maybe someone else has? Know that they do not believe in the trinity between God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Stay safe in Jesus name, love u in Christ. John 7:10_24

Jesus warns his disciples to beware of leaven (false doctrine) that will be added to the unleavened bread that comes down from heaven (even the very Word of God). 1st Corinthians 7:25 is a prime example of the introduction of doctrine that did not come from the Lord. The author(s) even tells you they didn't get it from the Lord. Consider what Jesus instructs us all in John 7:16-18 "My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him." Therefore, if anyone introduces their own doctrine, unrighteousness is in them.

In Acts 15 the Pharisees proposed doctrine that was in opposition of the Holy Ghost. The Apostles recognized it and rejected the Pharisee's doctrine as leaven. It did not come from God, it came from their heart. What's in a person's heart is what comes out of their mouth. By thy words shalt thou be justified and by thy words shalt thou be condemned.

Romans also introduces false doctrine when they suggest that the "powers that be" are ordained of God and should be obeyed. The Apostles taught no such thing. In fact they taught the opposite. The "powers that be" said to them: "Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine [...] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." ( Acts 5:28-29).

Hi dear "A Wife", now i see that you are referring to scriptures found in the Old Testament. For clothes do not matter, we know that now. For we are talking about the Holy Spirit. There is only one who knows the hearts. It's God. We should be careful about is judging people who look like men or if they are women, who knows, who knows them? Do i, No. They can be like us Jesus saved and converted. Repent and be baptized. Believe fully and firmly in the Lord Jesus. If we share the world as you do now, we will see more exits. Example:

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

A few decades ago, people believed that the UN was the antichrist.

Today in the eurozone, 19 out of a total of 27 member states have the euro. It is a good result as it is over half. It's not bad. But still, it is the US dollar that really has something to say in times of trouble :)

Anti-Christian thoughts fill the one who does not have Jesus in his heart. And spread such thoughts / words. But he who fills himself with the Word from Him. John 7:38 There is something there! Then we will not fear but rejoice in the Lord we who know it. It's the same all over the globe. And those who have Jesus in their hearts, purify themselves and resist such thoughts, do you agree?

Since this is found all over the globe. Is it probably the battle of good and or evil we are talking about here, friends!

I wish you all the best in the Lord Jesus. Read John 7 and 8 chapter. Jesus loves u and yours, i in Christ.

Dear, i have to get involved :) even if you have received good answers here. We must not forget that we have received grace. The grace ikke live in has mirrored my wisdom and gives me the power of God to testify, pray for people, be salty, be a fellow human being, it is never in compulsion, but the Lord we test our strength. See where you want to go?

Grace dear "Ms. Jackson" is what we should lean on in difficult situations. And we must never forget and do to others as we want others to treat us. This is so that we will walk wisely without bad thinking. I can see your darkness because I've been there myself. That said, the Lord will help greatly. But if there are unforgivable things, you can only help yourself. Such is the rule. We must forgive ourselves first, to clear and forgive others what injustice they have done to us. Get light now!

And never go back to that dark place! We must capture every thought. In order not to let in evil spirits that distort reality and we are bound in chains of sin and misery that only grow. For example, when we see disease in our ranks, there is a possibility that they have not thrown away evil thoughts. But allowed for example doubt, greed, forgiveness, unloving, even further in their lives. That is why we must read the scriptures every day, For encouragement, for peace of mind, not to allow evil thoughts. But openly to the work of God.

In scripture we learn about Jesus' state of mind the same we should have in all purity! Jesus love you i in Christ. John 7:17

May God bless us abundantly with wisdom and the spirit of revelation so that we all will be able to resist the evil day, as you describe. Start your service in this moment, do not wait, you are valuable and do not forget where you were before.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

Luke 3:23 is the clearest reference to Christ's age when He began public ministry. That was the age; traditionally when according to 2 Samuel 5:4 David began to reign. We need to remember that Christ in all ways had to be as we were; but without sin. Obedience to parents meant that He grew in "wisdom and stature". He also "learned obedience" according to some other verses. How the incarnate Son of God became of "no reputation" in order to stand in and be our Redeemer may be beyond our comprehension; but it is so.

Christ would be of "no reputation" ( Philippians 2:7 etal). To be truly a Rabbi; He also was fulfilling an age requirement; as He was Prophet; King and Priest. When the Spirit came down on Him as a dove; and He went out thenceforth to be tempted of the Devil ( Matthew 4:1) then He began the inevitable course of ministry leading Him to the cross. This shows also the value of His family; as we can see when basically He told John to take care of His mother at the crucifixion. Nonetheless; at 12 years old He showed who He would become. It is certain that as John also indicated; that if everything were to be told of Him all the world's books couldn't contain it. It is also true that much spurious material of the sol called "missing years" were allowed by God so that only those who truly hear His voice would respond; and also foreknew the 66 books that would result in the accepted Canon. It doesn't deny that some truths exist that are pieces of the original text from Enoch's prophecy; for instance, nor make all of Satan's statements something we should follow; but ensures that they have been faithfully recorded.

We also have the Apostle Paul and what Christ said to him; as well as John at Patmos (not to mention Pentecost before He rose from the dead). There is also the "Cristophone" occuring with the Angel of God in the O.T. He is eternal; and now risen!

    Amen.
