37 ... Jesus stood and cried, saying, If 'any man thirst', let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Jesus' task was an uphill climb! And even after irrefutable proof did they doubt, even to this day. Today, Christians give lip service to him but follow thoroughly ungodly men for expediency, who are thoroughly ungodly themselves. They claim to love but they only fawn after the false prophet. Not naming names but the hypocrisy here in America is ripe and they(christians)carry on in lock step.oi
cherry rose , Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. John 7:49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed. Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Enter Ye in at The Strait Gate: for Wide is The Gate and Broad is The Way that Leadeth to Destruction and Many there be Which go in thereat: Matthew 7:13. Because Strait is The Gate and Narrow is The Way which Leadeth unto Life and Few there be that Find it. Matthew 7:14 / All have a Choice.
Verse 46-49
Those whom the message of truth is spoken seldom ask, "Is it true?" but, "By whom is it advocated?" Multitudes estimate it by the numbers who accept it; and the question is still asked, "have any of the learned men or religious leaders believed?" Men are no more favorable to real godliness now than in the days of Christ. They are just as intently seeking earthly good...{EGW DA 459,460}
Verse 24~Jesus knew the imperfect human tendency we have to judge by what appears to the eyes and he tells us to stop doing that. We must have all the facts and judge with righteousness.
Jesus Himself was God manifest in the flesh, stood that day in the midst of those that were there including His earthly family and they rejected Him ( God in the flesh). Jesus cried out to all even those that did not believe Him," If any man thirst let him come unto Me and drink, and they refuse even as today me refuse the invitation to eternal life. Come to Him today and never thirst again.
"Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught." God manifest in the flesh came among His people to fulfill His own word and bring the Glad Tidings of Salvation and Eternal Life. In so doing He also kept the hearts' desires and prayers of His servants David and Solomon, for which the Temple was at all built: a place of prayer and teaching of the things of God.
You shall seek and not find me, there you cannot be, for what we are content with are idols and not the demand that the laws of God impart to us. It means that we must repent and transform ourselves into what pleases God. Jesus was a teacher of the Torah! All 4 gospels show Jesus in the temple daily preaching from the Word. In the bible is where we find the Word of God, and Jesus taught thense
Job's "friends" are judging him unrighteously. They are assuming that Job has committed some terrible sin, that he does not pray, or live a righteous life. How many times do we judge/accuse our friends or church brothers and sister wrongly?? John 7:24 "judge righteous judgment". One's circumstances are not how we should judge.
3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
V24 proves physical cutting means nothing. Jesus does not cut flesh and does not teach it.
Paul however continues to circumcise to establish the adherence to Jewish law as the example of the Jewish woman that had a son with a Greek man. Paul does not follow the example of behavior that Jesus established. Paul is a Jew first, Christian second. Acts 16:3
"After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him." The hostile and hateful who oppose and contradict Jesus and any and all who love Jesus; would love it to be fighting and quarreling with us all the time, and wasting our time! But we have to know when its time to let men have their own ways, and leave them alone.
Luke 2:21 "And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb." He that made the Covenant of Circumcision with Abraham, was Himself circumcised; according to the Covenant, and the Law: a sign in His flesh for the Man of God walking after the Spirit. The man who was healed was a Jew.
Insight777John7:18-20,24.V.18"Is any man called being circumcised:let him not be uncircumcised. Is any called uncircumcised:let him not be circumcised."We are told not to change this when God calls a man to himself.V.19"Circumcised is nothing, uncircumcised is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God."With this knowledge it tells me circumcised or not,not an issue to contend,or judge.
Jesus makes man whole, uncircumcised, on the sabbath. The Jews were cutting flesh for religious reasons and Jesus was not. There is no scripture that says Jesus was circumcised. Jesus is making the point that they follow the rituals of Moses but he does not. They follow the fathers of Moses not the Son of God therefore they have no salvation.
Insight777; v23 does not say that Jesus taught against circumcision. The point He is making, has to do with their double-standards and hypocrisy; in that while they would allow one type of work, in order to keep the Law of Moses, and confirm their Covenant of God; and yet turn around be so hateful and hostile toward the Lord Jesus if one is made perfectly whole by the very hand of God AMONG THEM!
V23, Jesus taught against the traditions of Jewish religious law including circumcision because it held no true meaning. God does not require physical circumcision as an act of faith. The true law of God to not kill is not followed but false rituals not given to them by God, but made up by Moses saying they are from God are followed.
Jesus is preaching and teaching but very few are believing him, during that time they had him in the flesh. What a sight that must of been and people still denied him. The problem is people dont read there bible enough to know God. Just like in the end times many will be decived because of not reading and knowing scripture (if it were possible even the very elect)
Amen to Acts 16;30-31 also please pay attention to everything Jesus and his Apostles taught on believing EX: Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved v17 signs that follow believers speaking with new tongues as mentioned in Acts 2:4 they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spake in other tongues that were new to them. Believers should receive the Holy Ghost John 7:39
Not so much about the text as about those who comment. Though we as individuals may not always agree on every point of doctrine but It is certainly a joy to see God's people express there excitement of what they get from God's word.
