David; I think what is more interesting, is how there always seems to be some little rats sneaking around, that have to run and tell the Pharisees what Jesus is doing. This man that was healed is like so many we see today, who are smart and honest and thoughtful; and for no known reason, are brought to have to prove it to grouchy hateful and hostile hypocrites! Whatever he says they don't believe.

I am challenged by the once born-blind man testified about Jesus Christ before the Pharisees in verse 27. However, I am also surprised to see him not yet recognizing the Person of Jesus in verse 36 whom he had testified of. That suggest to me that despite Christ's amazing works in our lives, we sometimes still deny knowing him.

To Melissa Baugh - The story of blind Bartemaeus is in Mk.10:52. This blind man's name in Jn.9 isn't mentioned. The reason more isn't said of 'Bart' is - the Bible is GOD's word, not man's, and God reveals what He wants to.

This is a true evidence of today's society. We are healed or we've been blessed through God and his powers. Yet, we are ashamed to admit to others who may not believe in God. If God does a miracle in our lives, let it be known. It says in the scriptures...If you disown Jesus/God on earth...Then he shall disown you in heaven. The blind man was healed and he let everyone whom asked of him. Amen

  • BSP on John 9 - 8 years ago
The blind man that was healed by Jesus was stating the truth that he had experienced. He was not concerned about pleasing the people around him or about their opinions so much that he was willing to compromise the truth. We do well to follow his example.
  • Sheelah on John 9 - 8 years ago
He didn't know Jesus too much but the impact was undeniable.

when you have been touched by the Lord, you going to tell somebody because you going to feel like shouting it from the roof top. I know a man and his name is Jesus and he has set me free. Bless the name of the Lord for He is good.
  • Lilian on John 9 - 8 years ago
Jesus is the Light of the World Jesus has to perform miracles coz there's no Jews that believes in him. The blind man was healed because of his obedience to wash his eyes in Siloam. Our obedience to God's words are more important than sacrifice. Thanks to the blood of Jesus. Lets worship him and praise him only for he is worthy Amen

John 9:39 "JESUS said, For judgement I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." MY MY MY! TO UNDERSTAND THIS SCRIPTURE U MUST UNDERSTAND WHO JESUS WAS TALKING TOO AT THIS TIME! JESUS WAS TALKING TO A GROUP OF RELIGIOUS FOLKS Pharisees WHO HAD KNOWLEDGE OF THE LAW BUT WAS BLIND TO THE SPIRITUAL PART OF THE LIVING WORD! JESUS NOT ONLY NEW THE WORD
  • Nontokozo Lubisi on John 9 - 8 years ago
there is nothing to hard for the Lord, this man was born blind but now he can see. Jesus can change your situation in a minute and the people around you will testify about the power of God. and we must also learn to obey his word for obedience is better than sacrifice, Jesus said to the man Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, he received his sight because he obeyed the instruction.
  • Matt on John 9 - 8 years ago
Everyone is born ''blind'', yes. Everyone's memory is stripped of the 'world that was' (2nd Peter ch. 3), so they can decide whether to love God or follow Satan. One-third followed Satan in the first age ( Rev. 12). Not only did our Lord heal this man's flesh eyes, but He opened his spiritual eyes as well. All souls who don't don't overcome the second resurrection will go into hell (Rev. ch.20).

The lesson I learned from the chapter is that the man who was then an adult was borned blind for the purpose of being used to show the glory of God on that sabbath day. Since every day belongs to God, He could use them for His glory at any given time. Therefore, Jesus did not think of religion at the time, but the soul of the man who became a believer by the evidence of being able to see that day.

Yah'l pronounced Yah-yeel uses agricultural metaphors to describe spiritual desolation felt in the land of Yizroyl in line with other prophets also bewraying the nation's sins. Yah'l calls upon the nation and "ministries" to repent. Today if only modern day preachers had such backbone. The day of Yahweh is described as a day of DESTRUCTION from the Almighty. The solution then and now, ministers should call people to fasting and prayer meetings, solemn assemblies, not prayer meetings where a bunch of "sanctified saints" sit around gossiping. as I have witnessed. The solutions proposed by inspired men of Yah of old are not "done away in Christ", as the deceived church world proposes simply because they are found in the Old Testament so-called . Messiah came to reform the heart of man by his substitutionary death, and not to implement a SUBSTITUTE religion adverse to Tanach and Tanach teachings. See Hebrews, Chapters one to the end of the book. As always, it is truth verses teachings of man made traditions. Little has changed in man since these ancient words were penned with the exception that now that Messiah has come, we have no excuse for our sins, only his blood covering. Rom 2:1-29, John 9:41

This is a personal testimony. There was a physical change that he could attest that he blind but could now see.Although he did not have a personal experience with this Man of Galilee,a change in him could not be denied even by the unbelieving hypocrites. When a sinner is converted the person of Jesus Christ in him testifies of the goodness of God for the light of life is in him.He becomes a shining light to the blind world of darkness. There is no more blindness in him whom who has the the light of lights. Glory be to our God. The bright morning has risen in his heart. A new day has come.

The man understood himself not the other way round. He was blind not his friends or colleagues but him. So our salvation only sees us through but by Jesus nit anybody else. This people they only wanted him to curse the Lord but he blesses and praises Him. What I know now is I can see through the eyes of my heart. I believe all to him could see because he meet the Lord.
  • Arsenical on John 9 - 9 years ago
I like versus 1-3. I am legally blind and I herd this chapter on tape a few years ago. I felt like Jesus was talking directly to me. I was born partly blind to do Gods will in my life.
  • Daniel on John 9 - 9 years ago
It is indeed true that Christ in us is hope for glory and no matter our circumstances or situation In life, one should never loose focus on the finished work of Jesus. Our lives can be up side down for years, but with one touch of Jesus in the our midst, everything will become brand new, so let us all run to the true saving grace and love of Jesus.

There is no Wrong of admitting that we are a sinners, it is an act of humility but if you remain in sin that is definitely Wrong. Sometimes we Christians We think on ourselves we 're righteouse self righteousness , we forgot that we made mistake also, True follower of Jesus Christ Praise Him, Worship Him, Give Thanks to Him, and Admit to Him that We also make Mistakes. and I just want to SHare to you If Pray to our Father Pray not just for Deliverance of Sin, but Pray to Renew your Mind and set it to God "s will only and Pray to Strengthen you so you can Resist sin...God Bless...
