He is a Jew, which is One Inwardly; and Circumcision is that of The Heart, in The Spirit, and not in The Letter; Whose Praise is not of men, But of God. Romans 2:29
It’s my belief that all of the KJV Bible is good and should be read in order, in prayer. These commands were given before Jesus came and said, it is not what goes into the mouth that defileth the man, but that which proceeds from...not exact quote but from memory of The Word, carried in my heart. Of course this book is good counsel still today, as it would be unhealthy to eat bats, crows, etc.
You say that no one can live without (willfull) sinning? Leviticus 11:45, Leviticus 20:7, 1st Peter 1:16 all command you to be Holy. Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned (past tense) and come short of the Glory of God".
In John 5:14, Jesus tells the man that was healed from 38 years of infirmity to "sin no more" ALSO John 8:11 to the woman saved from the stoning.
Jesus wouldn't ask the impossible!
Carol; I like what you wrote, and think that is a good interpretation. May I add, that the parted hoof represents being in the world but not of the world; and chewing the cud, living according to the Word. If we are walking a separate and sanctified life, but not according to the Scriptures; it is unclean. So too if we feed on the Word but don't live according to it! We have to be complete in God.
I believe the animals with the DIVIDED hoof - parted hoof are symbolic of Christ. Christ is the Word ( John 1:1). We are to rightly DIVIDE the WORD as outlined in I Timothy 2:15. Just as a lamb is symbolic of Christ ( John 1:29: ....Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world), a calf or ox is symbolic of Christ, a beast of burden that carried weight - Isaiah 53:4 bearing our sins
Dietary instructions of God to the Israelites is just to remind us of our peculiarities to Him as people. Christians should abstain from all practices repugnant to God not necessarily the food or meats we ingest.
For those who obey the dietary laws. Guess what? You are keeping God's commandments. John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep my commandments." Wasn't God telling Moses and Aaron to tell the children of Israel what foods to eat and not to eat. If God is speaking, then how has these commandments suddenly change in 2017. Isn't God the same yesterday, today, and forever. This is not rocket science, people!
Except the ceremonial laws that were pointing to Jesus ( col 2:14-17), counsels on clean/unclean foods in Lev 11 are still binding. God will not alter anything that proceeds out of His lips ( Psalms 89:34, Heb 13:8).
This chapter is difficult for me to understand. As I read it, I think much of what is sold in the grocery stores and at farmers ' markets is unclean, i.e. rabbit, pig, chicken, shrimp are a few. Amy I wrong about the chicken? Verse 21...Do chickens have feet above their feet?
Most of the foods prohibited under the o.t. are eaten nowadays. The fact that in the n.t., it says whatever declared clean, eat. This He said to Peter. I don 't know kexatly the Book verse
Leviticus 11 teaches that we should obey God 's laws by not eating and touching unclean animals. If we were obeying all these laws there would not be so much diseases in the world.
Pastors still refuse to teach these superior Verses to their followers.Since church these days all about money can they please sell this verse to the congregation for A GOOD LIFE SAKE.
i think god want us us to stop eating certain foods like pork and the animals described up above.I know since this is Alexis daughter speaking and i 'm only 11 years old you ant believe me trust me follow the ten commandments go to the Israel of god website you 'll learn all about it.But please listen to me.
23. But any other flying insect that has four legs, is an abomination for you. This is the exact translation from Jewish Old Testament. It does not mention birds, nor KJV refers to birds, but insects. And there are flying insects with more than two feet example big cockroaches
God's word is never wrong. Man interprets it wrong. The KJV is the most accurate Bible. Even then it is best to check the Strong's and companion Bible and Hebrew , Greek original Bible. Fine example is the word fear and Easter.
Moses eat the same food that John the Baptist eat ,and Moses also told the People following Him out of Egypt to repent, just as John told all people to repent.Lev.11:22 was a foreshadow reference to the New Testament of what John was doing, eat, and wore.Amen
