Surely GOD is holy and Leviticus 18 is a clear indication that HE hates SEXUAL IMMORALITY. So let the church of CHRIST in four winds of the earth embrace HOLINESS. Amen.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Leviticus 18 - 12 years ago
Leviticus 18:22 clearly says it is wrong for a man to be with a man as with a woman. Romans 1 talks about men, and women leaving the natural use of each other, and being given over to a reprobate mind. God created Adam, and said it is not good for him to be alone, so he took a rib from Adam and formed the woman, which is called Eve. Marriage is to between a man and a woman only, for procreation. If it were not for that, mankind would perish on the Earth. God knows what is best for us, and if you want to be blessed follow His plan for your life.

I'm Baptist and I never read in the ONE and Only Bible (KJV) where a pastor/preacher had to have a degree from a Bible College. All that it says you need is the calling and annointing by the Holy Spirit.

    @LAK,
In our time yes, there is incest.
But not in theirs, because the commandment banning incest came only very much later in Leviticus 18:
‘’ 6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.
7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.’’
And without the above law, we cannot talk of any incest in this particular case.
    God bless you.

I just found out that my brother is gay. It's very hard for me and my family to understand because we were always religious and brought up knowing that being with another person of the same sex is wrong. We have always based everything we do on the KJV of the bible and now that he wants to be gay he is trying to tell us that this verson may not be right. Please pray for my brother and my family. We all need it so much.
    Thanks

Casey, most people who have a relationship with the lord line themselfs up with his word which comes from the bible, that is their guide on how to stay on track in this crazy world, you are to add nothing to it and take nothing away from it,maybe you are the one who should take a course in obedience.
  • Sherree on Leviticus 18:22 - 12 years ago
HaHa it seems a little strange that you would say if you could find a women, why did'nt you say a man who does'nt want to have sex, because you never know.Do you have any children yet, because God wants us to muiltiple threw sex with your husband, and if not that way then you can adopt, either way you will still be multipling and that is Gods plan,so either you believe in the lord or you dont and it seems like you dont or you would not EVER consitter being with the same sex let alone speak the words out loud or put it on a website I'm going to need you to stay focused and stop trying to be slick and cross over to play for the other team.

How Blind Do People Want To Be !!!
How Right The Word Of God Is !!!
    Same Sex Marriage Is Wrong= Leviticus 18:22;
As Boldly As Romans 1:25-32, Is Our Answer Is God's Will Not A Nation Full Of Lost Souls, And Lost Laws !!!
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 9 - 12 years ago
Dear Jean, Leviticus 18:10 tells you not to uncover your son's daughters nakedness, and it is as uncovering your own. This is something that God has commanded, and proper dress with modesty is very important to God. True if Noah had not become drunken, he would never have been uncovered. Wine is a mocker, and whoever drinks to get drunk is not wise. This however does not excuse what happened, but it is a lesson to all of us of the dangers of wine. God is holy, and he commands his people to be holy as he is.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Leviticus 18 - 12 years ago
Jesus is the completion the law. Grace and Truth come from Jesus. We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. We must love our neighbor as thyself. God made Adam for Eve and has given us the pattern for marriage. Jesus is the truth, and we must follow him to be saved.

Verse 22: I'm a little confused about, I'm pretty sure I will eventually figure it out, but what does it mean, can someone explain it to me in detail please?!?
  • Lee on Leviticus 18 - 13 years ago
Clearly one who tries to rationalize our culture's acceptance of homesexuality and saying God does not view it as perversion is "wresting" the scriptures; trying to twist them to fit their sinful world view. If you have homosexual proclivities, you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and walk in the Spirit, not your flesh.
  • Aaron on Leviticus 18 - 13 years ago
lets all remain wise to the word of God. Homosexuality is a sin against God. it is written in the bible and we as Christians must obey and believe God word. God loves you, not the sin or any sin, but don't be deceived God does judge us all. He chastise those he love and he will not accept those who call wrong- right. the death of Christ has no effect on those who denies wrong doing.
  • Lindsey on Leviticus 18 - 13 years ago
Yes. Homosexuality IS SINFUL AND WRONG. Romans Chapter One makes this perfectly clear as well. God does not hate anyone, He hates what we choose to do and the fact that we chose to do it...... Sexual sin is everywhere in the world now and it's a short matter of time before we all die! So give your lives to Jesus and stop playing around and wasting time!
  • Casey on Leviticus 18:22 - 13 years ago
Have you read the rest of Leviticus? It points out a lot of "sins" that I am sure all of you are guilty of committing. If this is your "proof" that homosexuality is sinful, you need to take a course on logic.
  • Saw on Leviticus 18:22 - 13 years ago
i agree with randy and josh but the city of soddem was destroyed because of homosexuality im not against it but im up for a good argument
  • Luis on Leviticus 18 - 13 years ago
Yes John, THAT IS DEFINITELY WRONG! God created Adam and Eve; NOT Adam and Steve! It's not in your genes. God DOESN'T make mistakes when he created us.. Satan is tricking you!

Pray to God and ask him to change your heart!
  • Teresa on Leviticus 18:22 - 13 years ago
I think people should understand this also. People are taking GOD out of everything....10 commandments, prayer in schools and games, leagelizing same sex marraige. People wake up and read

This is how I feel. I do not like sex at all. I can go for the rest of my life without it. So, I'f I found a lady and she felt the same way, what's wrong with that? I mean there would be no sex what so ever. I have been with men and now married at the moment. I hate having sex! Call me crazy if you want lol!!! I really feel if I found a lady that thinks as I do, I would be so much more happy. Please someone let me know your thought's on this please. I mean there would be love for eachother, but no urge for sex.
  • Josh on Leviticus 18:22 - 13 years ago
I really wish more people would read this passage. It's clear and simple: God says homosexuality is sinful. However, God does not hate the sinner. He hates the sin.
  • Ed on Leviticus 18 - 13 years ago
John.. Read Lev.20 --13 Put God first in your life, trust in him and he will personally instruct you. Read your Bible.
  • Ricky G on Romans 2 - 13 years ago
I like this chapter about GOD righteous judgment it make me think about how the times has change
. The Fear of the LORD was greater than it is now. You see so many man with man, are girl with girls. When the word tell you not to do this cause it is a sin( ROM 1:26)( Leviticus 18:22). But it some many people who have got trick up by the ememy, are they so self righteous that they think there already in the book of life. So read this chapter and the next one too cause we have to obey GOD laws to make it to heaven. So get your house in order before it is to late, cause tommrow is not promise!!!!!!

what are the other related verses that talk about a defiled land and also that land can vomit
  • Randy on Leviticus 18 - 14 years ago
The meaning of Lev 18:22 is clear and your argument is with God. Rest assured, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord as explained in Philippians 2:10
    That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;

    Titus 3:3
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

    Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

    Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

God doesn't make sinners, people choose the wrong path. Be not deceived for Satan can transform himself into an angel of light as stated in 2 Corinthians 11:14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Sin, on any kind, has the capacity to look or feel good from our polluted perspective but sin always will take you where you don't want to go, keep you there longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you ever wanted to pay. Fighting a battle with Satan is never easy. We have the Holy Spirit as our aid. Jesus sits on the right hand of God as our advocate every time Satan tells God what we did wrong. I hope you've received Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior. The battle is lost otherwise. May the Lord put a hedge of protection around you and may only the Holy Spirit minister to your heart. May your heart not be hardened. Christians out here love you and only want what is best for your life and for the life of your buddy. God has good planned for each of your lives. Satan brings discouragement while God offers hope and life everlasting.
  • John on Leviticus 18 - 14 years ago
I think first off that being gay and living a gay lifesyle are two different things. I do not agree with men marrying one another because marriag is sacred. However, I feel a strong bond with a man who feels the same way about me. I am simply not attracted to women. It's in my genes. I want to live this man and care for him and love him but not marry him. he has more sexual urges than I do. He lives a wild lifestyle but he's not reckless. I like to be near him a lot. Is that wrong?
