In this chapter, we see the kind of offering and the standard of the offering as well as the acceptable way of making this offering recognised by GOD. In verse 3, everything is summed up an offering without blemish without spot of blame and offered willingly and voluntarily unto the LORD. What a perfect picture of Christ 's sacrifice for all of humanity He was without sin and willingly yielded Himself unto death on the cross for sinful men. This then becomes a perfect guide unto all believers in Christ to offer their lives and bodies as living sacrifices unto the LORD willingly and without blemish as Paul rightly stated in Romans12 1,2.

  • Val on Leviticus 1 - 10 years ago
Blood always had to be shed for the forgiveness of sins and then God came to us in the flesh to offer himself as the one true sacrifice the New Covenant, until His return. Sometimes it is hard to imagine all the work and killing of innocent animals but who can fully understand God and how amazing He is...I cannot wait on that day to come when He will "wash away all our tears "!

How did we get to chapter 18 from chapter 1? One reads the scripture and says, "It has to be done in this manner!" Another reads and says, "How could anyone live like this?" Still more read this and vacillate between the real and the spiritual, prioritizing their responses and obedience.
Look beyond what is written, and see the deeper message. There are layers, and it is the honor of kings to discover them! God uses imagery all throughout the Bible, and yet you stick on issues of the day, and go no further.
I live with no condemnation of my past, and all hope for my future, and treat others the same. God just wants you to believe in Him, of Him, and Who You Are...in Him. Start with that, and everything else fades away.

If God said it, then I believe it, I don't understand everything and if I did, I would be equal with God, and that's not possible. Just pray about it. God answers prayers. God Rules.

We must read the Word of God as it is written. We place too much emphasis on hurting peoples feelings rather than to get the issues cleared on truth. If it says the statement, it is the Word.
God's love is for all men. But sin is the separation of His love when we don't want to abide in it. It is not judging a man in his ways that we are mean, hating, etc., but that the truth will find us all if we do not obey it; with love and peace and all attached....I say truth to it.

i am beyond greatful to know that of god and have him as a part of my life to know the fullfillment of god's commandments is greater than most would ever know . if men and women and children would stop to see they would know that there is ever lasting life and eternal peace when they finially become commited with christ himself and also know that you really will have a better life when you go by the commandments. there is even more reward in haven your salvation than there is in eternal damn nation where you find yourself always wanting instead of receiving.
    thankyou for your time.

    @Bob,
That kind of relationship is still against nature, it is just women’s homosexuality. It is part of vile affections spoken of in Romans 1:26-27.
Because natural sexuality is woman’s body that goes with man’s which it is prepared to receive. It is lubricated and has natural antiseptic and detergent abilities to that end, and can result in procreation.
All the rest is just sinful fabrication or excess that is sustained by sadist and self-mutilation spirits. No one can feel confortable in such practices without deception from spiritual conspiracy.
Thank God deliverance is available in Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus Christ is there to cleanse us from any iniquity, 1 John 1:4-10, Isaiah 1:18-19. And not only can our sins be forgiven, but also and mainly, God is able to set us free from such possessions if we are meek and humble to His will. No matter how far we’ve gone in such practices, Psalms 146:8 says “The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:”. Being blind or bowed here not only applies to physical aspects of life, but also and mainly to the spiritual ones; levels of sin when right becomes bad and bad good. Because the mind becomes blind, unable to perceive the truth, or bowed, just abnormal. God is able to set us free from such.
But we first need to get born again of the spirit of God, then God can do the job in us in Christ Jesus, as the word says in Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
The spirit of God dwelling is us is intended to do any pending work in our body and mind, if we can just keep “stirring it up” in our daily life, 2 Timothy 1:6.
    God bless you.

Leviticus teaches me that man are still making their own choices by continuing to sin. It also is clearly setting up the end times when these things will still be among us. Homosexual life styles are not going anywhere and that it's apart of God’s prophecy "that men and women will be like the beginning of time giving and taking in marriage (homosexual acts).

  • Lare on Leviticus 1 - 11 years ago
Let's not use verses from the Bible to condemn others; instead let’s use them to find and repair the faults in OUR own lives. JANET.

To all the homosexuals and lesbians today demanding that each one of us accepts their way of life that they chose, please read Leviticus 20:13,"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. This is not the only book in the bible that speaks of this sin, also read about it in Romans 1.

That was a very knowledgeable story and it teaches us a lesson that God loves us even though we have done sins, he will forgive us in Jesus name we pray.
