Discuss Leviticus 20

Hi Chris: I didn't understand your first question so I can't answer it and I disagree that being sinless now make me revert back to a body like in the Garden of Eden but I don't want to go into that in this discussion.

I am sinless. As He instructs me to be because He says in His word for us to be perfect as His Father in heaven is perfect (Math. 5:48) and we are to be holy as He is holy. ( Leviticus 11: 44-45, Leviticus 19:2, Leviticus 20:7, 1 Peter 1: 15-16). People think these verses are just suggestions, or they don't count because they are in the OT. God's word from Genesis 1:1 to Rev. 12:22 all matter and tells us exactly how God wants us to live holy, righteous lives. I, of course, cannot be sinless as Jesus was because I was born into original sin and He wasn't. But when I was washed clean and made new by His divine blood, He rid me of the desire to sin. The devil tries to tempt me, but because I am without the nature to sin; the adamic nature, I have no desire to sin. I am also filled with the Holy Ghost, so I have all the weapons I need to resist him and as long as I keep these weapons, of prayer, reading and the study of His word, and fasting, new and at my side, I will be able to resist the temptation. It's when a christians gets lax or distracted or lazy that they can eventually fall back into sin. But if they want to make heaven they must do their first fruits (asking forgiveness for sin and asking that the desires for son be removed) again. These verses of perfection and holiness are exactly what God expects of us and He wouldn't tell us to be that way if He didn't make a way for us to be like this. I wasn't sinless until I gave my heart, soul and "old man" to Jesus. When I was saved, I not only prayed for my soul to be washed clean through His divine, forgiving blood, I also prayed and told the Lord that I didn't want to sin anymore and asked if He would take the desire to sin from me (the human nature I inherited from Adam.)

Could someone tell me what is going on when the Pope himself has condone same sex marriage and God himself said no to it and there are several books that state this fact. 1) Leviticus 18:22, 2) Leviticus 20:13 and 3) Deuteronomy 22:5. I feel that since the Pope has done this the religion he represents doesn't represent Jehovah God and he has brought inequity into the fold and those that wish to follow him will condemn there selves.

    Hi Astrawind,

If I may, you said you are focusing more on your faith which is great, praise God. Your question are angel numbers real? I will add are witches real, are demons real are mediums, horoscopes, etc. The answer is yes, but we are not supposed to deal with them. Angel numbers are a part of numerology, they may appear in the most ordinary places, these digits usually grab our attention, and even if for only a moment they evoke a sense of wonder, like sugar to an ant.

The danger is they can open doors to things that at first seem good and harmless but are like drugs, harmless at first but when the fangs sink in, it's over.

    Leviticus 19:31 Leviticus 20:27 1 Chronicles 10:13 Micah 5:12 Acts 19:18-19 Galatians 5:20 Revelation 21:8.

These are just a few verses you can find many more. If we put our faith outside of God, we are on dangerous ground. Numerology goes way back. The Babylonian Cube, it was a system of worship using numbers adding 1+2+3+ up to 36 = 666. they had it on an amulet they wore to protect them. It would be hard to explain it in this short reply.

There are things in this world that look as pretty and sweet as cotton candy but are more ravenous than you can imagine, Believe me.

I hope this helps and that you don't take it as coming from a fruitcake, but it is out of love, dark things are out there that you do not want to come across.

    God bless you.

    Hi Gigi

    Quote

As humans He created, we cannot attain to His infinite and boundless Holiness, but in Christ we will become perfected in the life to come to have perfect holy humanity without sin any longer. The angels are also holy and without sin, but they are creatures and thus not holy in the sense of being separate.

    Genesis 1:27

Leviticus 20:26, the word holy is the same for both mankind, angels & God,

    H6918--holy One, saint

Or qadosh {kaw-doshe'}; from qadash; sacred (ceremonially or morally); (as noun) God (by eminence), an angel, a saint, a sanctuary -- holy (One), saint.

1Pet 1:16 holy here refers to the same holiness---

G40 sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated) -- (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

Matt 5:48 perfect refers to God & mankind, there's not a different standard reveal here or the above.

    5046 complete, perfect, mature

From telos; complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with ho) completeness -- of full age, man, perfect.

Matt 6:10 my Friend, its here & now !

you're speaking as one who has been seasoned in the discernment between good & evil & yet teaching things contrary to Scriptures, you started out good, but from this statement on, you degenerated, which make it all the more deceptive: giving an appearance or impression different from the true one; misleading

    Gal 5:9

you're putting a stumbling block before the young & tender one's ''babes" in Christ, whom God is leading in the Way of Holiness

God doesn't take kindly to this.

It would be wise of you not to teach such thing directly contrary to Holy Spirit of Scriptures

Friend; Ephesians 6:12 who seek to rule & reign in the hearts & minds of the children of men.

    Part 2.

YHWH / YAHWEH / JEHOVAH [yah-way / ji-hoh-veh]: "LORD" ( Deuteronomy 6:4; Daniel 9:14) - strictly speaking, the only proper name for God. Translated in English Bibles "LORD" (all capitals) to distinguish it from Adonai, "Lord." The revelation of the name is given to Moses "I Am who I Am" ( Exodus 3:14). This name specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance ( Psalm 107:13), forgiveness ( Psalm 25:11) and guidance ( Psalm 31:3).

YAHWEH-JIREH [yah-way-ji-reh]: "The Lord Will Provide" ( Genesis 22:14) - the name memorialized by Abraham when God provided the ram to be sacrificed in place of Isaac.

YAHWEH-RAPHA [yah-way-raw-faw]: "The Lord Who Heals" ( Exodus 15:26) - "I am Jehovah who heals you" both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquities.

YAHWEH-NISSI [yah-way-nee-see]: "The Lord Our Banner" ( Exodus 17:15), where banner is understood to be a rallying place. This name commemorates the desert victory over the Amalekites in Exodus 17.

YAHWEH-M'KADDESH [yah-way-meh-kad-esh]: "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy" ( Leviticus 20:8; Ezekiel 37:28) - God makes it clear that He alone, not the law, can cleanse His people and make them holy.

YAHWEH-SHALOM [yah-way-shah-lohm]: "The Lord Our Peace" ( Judges 6:24) - the name given by Gideon to the altar he built after the Angel of the Lord assured him he would not die as he thought he would after seeing Him.

YAHWEH-ELOHIM [yah-way-el-oh-him]: "LORD God" ( Genesis 2:4; Psalm 59:5) - a combination of God's unique name YHWH and the generic word for "God" signifying that He is the Lord who is God.

    Friend,

Let go over some of what you have written here.

1.You say, "the law is holy, but it couldn't make you holy".

Luke 1:5,6; Leviticus 20:26; He's speaking in a present tense. King David, after he grievously sinned against the LORD, found a place humility, brokenness of heart & contriteness of spirit to Psalms 101:2; & what about all the writers of the OT, 2 Pet 1:21; they were holy! They walk in obedience to the measure of the Light that God was please to give them, under the gospel of their dispensation.

    2. Rom 7:14-25 Here Paul is explaining his struggles with the sin nature. After his encounter with Christ, he finds the Covenant has now be change, finding himself without the righteousness of the law, in which Philippians 3:6. He seeks the righteousness that is by "faith". Rom 6 tell us, "Grace" appearance in his heart, how he exercise the Word of Righteousness, yielding his member to glory & the knowledge of God, that shine in his heart in the face of

Hello Donna. There are probably a few reasons why this occurred. In John 18:28, we read that "THEY led Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgement...". And when Pilate told THEM to "judge him (Jesus) according to their law", we can understand that the Sanhedrin (the supreme council & tribunal of the Jews) were involved in laying the charge against Jesus. Also, at that time under Roman rule & law, the hearing of accusations & pronouncing judgement had to be conducted only by the Roman procurator or his deputies & not by the people. As well, with those of Jewry that might have shown sympathy towards Jesus (as One doing nothing worthy of such treatment & death), it was in the Sanhedrin's interest to refer the matter of execution to Rome (in other words, 'let's pass the buck'), to avoid becoming unpopular & losing respect & face with their people.

So, why not in the case of Stephen ( Acts 7:54-60), or the woman taken in adultery ( John 8:3-5), though Jesus skilfully diverted their attention from the woman to themselves? In these passages, we see it was the Jewish religious leaders (the Scribes & Pharisees) & the mob they incited being urged to take the law into their own hands. They believed they were fulfilling the Law, which prescribed that adultery & blasphemy were sins worthy of death ( Leviticus 20:10; Leviticus 24:16). These were not the Sanhedrin (the official Jewish council who would pronounce judgement after due legal processes), though the Council comprised many of these men; they were the religious leaders, acting on their own, filled with religious fury, inciting the mob, determined to take matters into their own hands, believing that they were fulfilling the Law & doing God service.

This is how I understand the difference which you have picked up on: just a few thoughts for your consideration.

    Leviticus 20:13

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Hello, God hates sin, but loves people despite them often choosing to sin. We need Jesus. That is the only way to salvation. But there's a trick satan has done to convince people that their sin is their identity. And if their identity, how dare anyone question it, right? When people like a certain sin, some assume that's "who they are" they are "born to do it" so how dare anyone judge them? That's one of the biggest lies. The biggest question is who do you want to follow: God or satan. If satan you can't go to heaven. Whose morals will you follow: God's or the world's? Which is most important social acceptance on this temporary earth or to please God?

I don't think anyone is born with a proclivity to do any sin. Babies are not interested in the sick things some adults choose to do. They definitely aren't born to do that. It's all learned and often groomed by parents and others. Lately, we've seen the goal posts continue to move to now include pedophilia and it is absolutely disgusting seeing people trying to push this evil. The "news" is trying to convince others that they're "born that way" to do that to kids. It's satanic to try to normalize the harming of children like we're seeing. Never thought I'd be seeing what I'm seeing. End times must be near. The world is very dark and evil and they hide all the harm they are causing others.

Fourthly, the Ten Commandments were given to Israel & were binding upon them. Some of their objectives were:

    a. to reveal the Holiness of the Eternal God to His people, Israel: Leviticus 19:2; Leviticus 20:7-8.

    b. to set Israel apart as distinct from all the other nations: Exodus 19:5.

    c. to reveal man's sinfulness: Galatians 3:19. Although the Law is "holy, just & good ( Romans 7:12), it did not provide salvation for the nation of Israel; and it cannot provide salvation to anyone who wants to or tries to keep the Law. No one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin ( Romans 3:20; Acts 13:38-39).

    d. to show to humanity that not one person can fully keep the Law but everyone falls short of God's Standard of Holiness. Realizing that, should cause us to cast ourselves upon a Merciful God for His Forgiveness. When Jesus came, He fulfilled the requirements of the Law completely and by His death fully paid the penalty for their breaking it ( Galatians 3:24; Romans 10:4). Therefore, by His Obedience, He was qualified to be the accepted Sacrifice for all mankind, for all of our sins ( Hebrews 10:10-12). If Jesus failed in fully keeping the Law, He would have been disqualified as a Savior - all mankind would be forever stuck in the quagmire of their sins & hell would be the destiny. But He was raised from the dead to show His Father's acceptance, our justification & deliverance ( Romans 4:23-25).

I hope you can see Ani, that even though there was nothing wrong with the Law, even keeping the Sabbath by Israel, anyone who puts themselves under the Law (i.e. to find forgiveness or acceptance by God by it), is doomed to fail. Our Rest - continual rest (Sabbath) is now found in Jesus & not in Law-keeping & we can only be subject now to the Holy Spirit who enables us to fulfil both the spirit of the Law & finding the true rest in Christ Jesus ( 2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Romans 8:1-4).

Leviticus Chapter 20 CHRIS- OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

We are to put to death the deeds of the sinful nature. This is the outcome of the work of Christ on the cross- that we can have victory over personal sin. It is the result of walking in the Spirit. ( Romans 6-8). To fail to mortify the sinful nature in us is to give in to Satan and follow his lead instead of the lead of the Holy Spirit. Let us honor the covenant Jesus made with His blood, knowing that we can never come before God on our own righteousness, but stand before our heavenly Father with the righteousness of Jesus imputed upon us. This does not excuse us from the responsibility to live as children of the Light. We are to put into practice the power of grace in this life to say no to ungodliness and yes to what God has determined is holy and pure and righteous and noble and of good report, whatever is true, whatever is lovely, whatever is praiseworthy, think on these things and do the works of God ( Philippians 4:8-9) This is how we love God and love one another. This is what we will be doing in eternity. We may as well learn to love all that is holy and good now so we can bless others and hopefully win some for Christ.

Leviticus Chapter 20 GOD MADE A COVENANT WITH MANKIND

God made a covenant with the Israelites at Mt. Sinai which included promises and blessings, commandments and curses. The purpose of God's covenant was to distinguish these people from the people of surrounding nations. These were to be a holy people, sanctified by God, blessed by YHWH but also commanded to be obedient in order for Him to dwell among them. No other nation had been chosen by God to have His presence dwell in their midst. This is a unique act of God, consecrating the Israelites as His chosen holy nation. The covenant was God's expressed will for them, the basis for His blessings or discipline, the standard of holiness. Whether or not an act had great social significance, it had great spiritual significance. Sinning would defile the land and God's sanctuary with the people, thus causing Him to depart from them or drive them from the land promised. The stakes o this covenant were high. It is a most serious offense-a capital offense- to disregard and disdain the covenant of God. And this is true of both the Old Covenant and the new Covenant.

The capital offense of rejecting Jesus Christ leads to eternal death. So unbelievers are outside of the New Covenant and cursed.

Christians disdain and disrespect the New Covenant when they persist in sin. See Hebrews 10:26-31.

Christians disdain and disrespect the New covenant when they distort the gospel.

Christians disdain and disrespect the New Covenant when they refuse to live their life by a higher standard than that of the society they live in.

We are to be salt and light. We are to take sin seriously, as Leviticus 20 shows us, and to desire to live godly lives. We are to yield to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit as He works in us to change us from glory to glory to become more and more like Jesus until we are made perfect (holy) as He is perfect (holy). ( Heb. 6:1, Eph. 1:4; 1 Pet.1:16; Rev. 22:11)

Leviticus 20 GOD IS NOT A RESPECTER OF PERSONS

2)The fact that God determines that all sins are capital offenses means that no sinner should feel themselves to be more righteous than another. James puts it this way.-to be found guilty of sin at one point is to be guilty of all sins. ( James 2:1-8)

God's Law refuses to distinguish between sins and crimes. As a rule, governments do not concern themselves with moral sins, but rather with social evils that they determine to be crimes. Governments do not concern themselves with what is termed sins (those actions that are against God) but with crimes, (offenses against other human persons).

The capital sins of Leviticus 20 are those sins that the Canaanites would not have considered to be crimes at all. God's people are especially responsible for sins that are not crimes (as those in Leviticus 20 show).

    a) the sins which are not crimes are those acts which our culture will encourage us to commit.

    b) the sins which are not crimes do not seem to have immediate natural (nor dire) consequences.

When God made certain sins crimes for the Israelites, they were strongly motivated to obey God's Law and to avoid sin because they wanted to live and not be put to death.

Their lifestyle was to be distinct from the people of the surrounding nations. Disobedience and defilement will lead to expulsion from the land promised (Lev.18:24-30; 20;22-26)

God's standards of holiness are much higher than man's sense of morality even at its best. Today's Christians must wake up to the fact that living a godly life requires much more than being a law-abiding citizen. (Some laws are anti-christian and some things that are legal are still sinful). Let us live higher than the law demands for avoiding sin requires this ( Mt. 5:43-48, 1 Peter 2:4). Civil Law can define what is a crime, but God defines what is a sin, not me, not you, not any other being, human, angelic, or demonic.

Leviticus 20 - NO ONE CAN SAVE THEMSELVES FROM THE JUST PUNISHMENT FOR THEIR OWN SIN

Death begins its work in us from the moment of our conception. Even while our cells are dividing and multiplying and differentiating into various types of cells to make up bones, blood, tissue, nerves, organs, etc. our sinful nature is corrupting every aspect of our being and death is acting on our physical matter. Throughout our life our cells die off and are replenished. Our soul is dead to God from the moment of conception because of the corrupted sinful nature. From the very start we are separated from God because He is so holy we cannot be in His presence and live. We need His mercy from the very start of our life and every moment after that.e

But, just as through one man, Adam, we all sinned (for he is our federal head-the effectual representative of all persons to ever descend from him); also, through one man, Jesus Christ we made alive because of His perfect obedience. Death came by Adam, life came by Jesus. Condemnation came by Adam; justification came by Jesus. Corruption came by Adam, righteousness came by Jesus (who is federal head of the Body of Christ). ( Romans 5:12-19)

We are not sinful because we sin, we sin because we are sinful from the start. We all need God's mercy and salvation that comes from the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross to bring forgiveness to all who put their faith in Him. Jesus bore the eternal capital punishment (which we deserve) for the sins of all men, that even though we suffer under physical death, we will not die eternally if we are in Him.

In His first coming, Jesus came not to bring condemnation to humankind, but to bring salvation. John 3;17-18) in His second coming, He will bring judgement upon all human beings, eternal life for those who are His by faith, and eternal punishment in the lake of fire for those who refuse to turn to Him and reject His provision for salvation for the sinfulness of each person.

Leviticus Chapter 20 WE ALL DESERVE TO DIE!

There are no degrees of sinners in God's view. There are no such thing as "small" and "big" sins to God. All sin is rebellion against Him. There certainly are degrees of consequences and results of our actions, but we cannot say like the Pharisees that we are not like the publican who is certainly a worse sinner than myself. We surely underestimate the holiness of God. And we should marvel at His mercy for not ending it all with Adam and Eve along with every person after these first two humans. But God's are not our ways. Higher than the highest heavens they are. If He did not reveal Himself to us we would not know how holy He is and how sinful we are. Mankind is completely and utterly corrupted by the sin of Adam and Eve. When they sinned their innate human nature was radically changed from being innocent and free of sin to being wholly sinful. This was a constitutional change in the nature of humanity and this corrupt, sinful nature is passed on from parent to child always with the exception of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh without a sinful nature.

Society finds it necessary to categorize sins according to degrees, and rightly so. Society categorizes crimes as misdemeanors and felonies. Some sins are not considered as crimes, and some crimes are not really sins. Society gauges the seriousness of sins as to the harm it causes society and has various levels of penalties for various levels of evil actions.

God views sin so differently, looking at sin not only in terms of actions and their consequences, but also looks at the attitude, the soul from which the sin is generated. He has determined that all sin is a capital offense and deserving of death. The fact that all sins are capital offenses has a number of implications.

    1) Since all sins are capital crimes against God, ALL human beings need desperately to experience God's provision for sinners-His mercy in Jesus, His Son.

    Leviticus Chapter 20-Penalties for Disobedience

Verse 7-8"Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD, Your God. And you shall keep my statutes and perform. I am the LOTD who sanctifies you."

This chapter refers back to the commands of Chapters 18-19, listing all the sins that are deserving of capital punishment (death). At times, God will is the one who executes the penalty by causing the death of the offenders, but in this chapter, God is instructing the Israelites to perform the penalty upon those who commit the sins spoken of in this chapter.

How hard it would be to put your child to death for disobedience to a parent! But God commanded them to do so and to not do it would be a sin as well.

So, it seems that all of the sins spoken of in this Chapter require a penalty of death. These sins would be considered to be capital crimes. Pretty sobering to consider.

I read that Capital crimes reflect a given value system. That is, acts that are called capital crimes are those which are considered most evil, and thus reflect the value system of the one (or ones) making the laws. Since capital punishment is the most serious penalty, then these crimes are viewed as those acts which are the worst evil.

Capital crimes in Leviticus 20 reflect God's value system. If we are troubled by what God has condemned as worthy of death, then we must recognize that our value system must be "out of sync" with God's. What then are God's values which are the basis for His choice of "capital crimes" (sins deserving the death penalty).

Well, actually, God views every sin as capital offense worthy of death. When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit does that seem to us to be such a heinous crime that it brought about not just the death of Adam and Eve, but for all of their offspring.

Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death." Do we truly believe this? Do we concur with God that each and every sin brings the penalty of death to the sinner?

The penalty for adultery in the O.T. was stoning.( Leviticus 20:10-20). Although it is not enforced in most of the "free" nations today it is enforced in many Muslim countries (who undoubtably carried on the O.T. concept). To understand infidelity; we must be clear on what "fidelity" means. In Matthew 1:19 a divorce was considered by Joseph because of perceived infidelity by Mary. It was ALSO considered a death penalty if a man had relations with an espoused virgin ( Deut. 22:23) and she did not protest (verse 25) which in that case only involves stoning the man.

God establishes the marriage covenant with vows and Psalm 15:4 states that we should keep our vows even when it hurts. We pledge until "death do us part" and become part of a vow which God establishes so that we become one flesh in His eyes. Any other relationship is one flesh but the Lord turns away from any recognition and I would say any blessing that can be given to it.

The exception would be the gift of life should a child result; as he or she is not responsible for the parents sin and still has a soul that belongs to God.

We are; of course in N.T. times and called to forgive one another. It is noteworthy that with all the multiple marriages and concubines (basically adulteries) going on that there is not ONE mention of a divorce of any character in the Bible. This makes one consider that a divorce perhaps in the Matthew 1:19 example truly was ONLY for espousal which fits in with the word "fornication". That is my theory anyway. In any case as with anything else if a brother sins; we are to confront them with it.

In the case of certain infidelity it is the church's responsibility to counsel; exhort and when necessary remove a member who is behaving this way. Hopefully the person will be shamed enough to repent knowing many are praying for them but sadly this sort of solidarity is usually missing in today's church.

I pray if that is your reality God restores things by His Grace.

    Hi GiGi dear,

I am glad I found your comment here and I am already able to access my account. Firstly, I have a question about Andrew's topic, then I will comment about the prayers for our sons when you reply to this one.

Leviticus 20:10 points out that (a man commiteth adultery with another man's wife, even he that commiteth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.)

I have a few questions because this connects to the relatives of mine who are very important and dear to me.

Situation 1: As far as I understand this verse, it conveys that the status of the man is not specified, so he could be single or married, it is only the woman who is to be a man's wife or married to get involved with that man, that will form the sinful act of adultery on both sides . Does this mean that a married man actually is allowed to have a relationship with a single woman which means, as long the woman is not another man's wife? Is it still not considered adultery in our present period? It is evident in Deuteronomy that some God's chosen men has many wives like Solomon, Jacob, David and others... I know there might be many more. This requires me to continue reading the bible to know the entity. Can men in our present times practice polygamy without committing adultery?

Situation 2: How will this verse be applied to a woman if she is divorced from his previous husband? It looks that the woman is not permitted to do polygamy just like the ancient men can. One particular verse by St. Paul states that even the divorced wife from his husband may stay away from her husband but should remain single.

Looking at these facades: Can we still conclude in our present period that a man can practice polygamy as long as the lady is single and not commit adultery, but the same cannot be applied in vice versa to the woman?

If this is really what God wants, then I will say Amen to this because we are not to question God.

    God bless you all !

    Mary

    Hello Dgjot.

"Cursing" in 1 Kings 2 and Leviticus 20:9 has the meaning of "talking to somebody with no respect, insult him". In Deuteronomy it has the meaning of "punishment/condemnation", like we say that "Jesus became a curse for us" which means that He took our place on the cross and was punished/condemned instead of us. Andrew, Yes, one can be forgiven for adultery. As you said, repentance is what God wants of us. This means leaving off that woman and not getting into sinful situations with her anymore. It is a turning from sin to God and confessing this sin and asking for forgiveness. God does grant forgiveness. He does help us when we turn to Him. We can trust His word on this.

    Dgjot,

I'm taking the word "cursed" directly from the Bible not other witchcraft things of this world because GOD said no undue curse shall stand. Proverbs 26:2, That stuff has no power over Believers that stay in GOD's ways.

Malachi 2:2, Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 18:8, Leviticus 20:11, the laws GOD had given Moses included the things forbidden that he was actually asking for Solomon to give permission. Being the king, guilt would have cursed as Deuteronomy 28:15-68, promises. Israel agreed to that, in Deuteronomy 27,

    Look also at Ezekiel 21,

    Hopefully these are helpful

If he truly repents, can a person be forgiven for violating Leviticus 20:10?

    Hello Hanna,

    1Kings 2

Why did Solomon have Adonijah put death?

3rd the curse, was Adonijah trying to curse Solomon, his Father's household & Israel? Leviticus 20:9, Deuteronomy 11:27-28,..."

What does it mean to "curse"??? Is that like putting a hex on someone or cussing them out?????

Molech was a false god or idol of the Canaanites . Leviticus chapter twenty is a list of laws given to the Israelites . The purpose of these laws is explained towards the very end of the chapter . Verses 22-26 . The LORD our God , has abhorred the things that the people of this land were doing , they would probably have been sacrificing their children to molech , committing acts of sexual immorality and other unmentionable grossness . The whole chapter is important and God explains His reasons for these laws in verses 22-26 .
