I totally agree with Stephen Botts. God's word also tells us not to use our freedom as an opportunity to sin, because we are free from sin, in a spiritual sense, so we continue to strive in the leading of His holy spirit. We must grow and mature in Christ Jesus, while He continues to sanctify us which is an ongoing process. God is moving Believers to perfection, and when He returns, He will complete our perfection. We are to contend to the faith and the way of Christ while we are waiting. We a=should be in a state of mind to love His appearing. Blessings.

Leviticus 20:13-21 speaks of some of God's commands to the children of Israel, in the matter of homosexuality, incest & bestiality. God is really saying, that He has not made mankind to behave like this, they do it of their own volition & because of inherent sin in them. His penalty for such behaviour was death, as it was gross wickedness, akin to wilful murder, witchcraft, etc. Fortunately for us, post Crucifixion, that the door of God's Mercy is still open & forgiveness is still available for any caught up in this debauchery. Sadly, the World looks at these relationships as 'Alternative lifestyles', but God clearly says it is Sin & will be judged severely.

We are God creation he made us, and design us to do his perfect will here on earth

Therefore we came with an instruction manual and it's noted clearly in this book

...we must obey his commands and statutes and try not to compare to living by grace

Karen oh yes the Spirit realm is real and they do communicate with them. This practice is forbidden of the Lord as it is essentially consorting with the enemies of the Lord. Familiar means they are well acquainted with them.

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Do you wonder why TV and movies have so much witchcraft as the theme

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer (allow) a witch to live.

How in the world could (can) the Most High expect His people to totally keep his decrees, laws and commandments? Aren't there like, at least 600 of them in The Law? I thought that for today, as in the days of Abraham, God imputed to him righteousness. So would that not be the same case when it comes to being holy? And isn't sanctification an action which occurs each and every day in the life of Believers?

Leviticus 20:13 speaks on this. Paul talks about it Romans. But most importantly, Since these sins are part of the old testament, they are part of the law. "By the law no flesh shall be justified. By grace are we saved without the deeds of the law". Today In these times, the church should be the watchman, and declaring these things, in the face of a sinful and unrepentant world. The law and the gospel. Romans 3:20, KJV: "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."Roman 5;1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:Those who live under the law, will be judged by the law.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
A woman was made to be a help mate and companion.
Sodomy is rebellion against the Lord and his creation.
    Read Romans chapter 1 sometime.

Here are some Bible verses on the topic: Leviticus 20:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:26-27. Keep in mind that no sin is too big: anyone can be forgiven if they repent, turn from sin and follow Jesus.

I KNOW without a doubt it IS A SIN. That's not debatable, I will not condone the act of homosexuality as the bible does say in Leviticus 20:13 King James Version KJV 13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death their blood shall be upon them. I want to address them lovingly as to why it's wrong.

An evil spirit that takes on the appearance of, and imitates a person who has died. Familiar spirits have been decieving mankind down through the ages as they have taken on the forms of people known to the living in order to mislead the living about future events, and about what lies beyond the grave.

You say that no one can live without (willfull) sinning?
Leviticus 11:45, Leviticus 20:7, 1st Peter 1:16 all command you to be Holy.
Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned (past tense) and come short of the Glory of God".
In John 5:14, Jesus tells the man that was healed from 38 years of infirmity to "sin no more" ALSO John 8:11 to the woman saved from the stoning.
    Jesus wouldn't ask the impossible!

'A disciple' is correct. God has not changed His feelings toward these sins. Only has He changed how He deals with it. We are under grace, but should we sin that grace may abound? God forbid.

Something has to be said for the terrible uncleanness that permeates this evil generation. Why is it, that when you look up city data (when they even show that information) the places with the so-called highest rates of "religious" are the most FILLED with deviants, perverts and violence? To those who insist that the Law no longer applies, "because we are Christians;" look at the sins in this ch!

"Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God." Our Lord JESUS CHRIST has all authority in heaven and on earth; and His COMMANDMENT is for ALL MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT AND OBEY THE GLAD TIDINGS, and it is our sacred charge from Him to TEACH ALL MEN to observe and keep all that Jesus has commanded and taught us. NO ONE is exempt! And the penalty for sin is still death.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. Variance is described as, the fact or state of being in disagreement: dissension, dispute. This is what the LORD meant in Leviticus 20:26, saying, that He had severed us from other people to be His.

DarrellIBMs; You say the truth! Leviticus 19:29 "Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness." Psalm 12:8 "The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted." Amos 5:13 "Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time." May the Lord lead us in what we are to do and say.

Our children are still being sacrifice to moloch today through show biz and entertainment. Parents are prostituting there child for their own financial gain. Sending your child in to a world of drugs, fame and pedophiles. As a parent we a responsibility to God's little ones.

1 Corinthians 5:1 the man was having sex with his Fathers wife. The answer is to deliver that man unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved. This shows that the man is saved, or can be saved. This verse corresponds with Leviticus 20:11. Leviticus 20:13 is about sodomites, I believe that they can be saved, because the person in Leviticus 20:11 can be.

Leviticus 20:11 will make it very clear what Ham did and why Noah cursed the offspring. Shem and Japheth covered up their mother. "And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness" (The very idea that a son simply seeing his father naked would be that big a deal as to curse a grandson is ridiculous.)

Leviticus 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

God 's word is very clear about mam laying with another man it is sin. Just because the Supreme Court made it into law same sex marriage does not change it from being sin. They will stand before God one day and give an account of what they have done with so many more who are not born again. Sin is sin no matter what sin you do its sin. They only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ no other way. Yes there is a heaven and hell, The born again who follow Jesus will go to Heaven, the ones who reject Jesus will go to hell. That will be for eternity. Because of sin in the world today look around: we see flooding, tornadoes, fires, earthquakes, murders, wars, killigs, people have sex chrilden. Look at the mess in the US the government has made, Man cannot fix what they have done. Only God can do that if only they turn from there sins and turn to God and ask forgiveness. The end of times is near, Jesus will return and take out the born again Christians, so many will be left behind. My prayer is that they ask Jesus into there hearts and follow him.

  • Adam on Leviticus 20 - 10 years ago
It speaks to men who break The Law. That is to say, the offender is he who trespasses against The Law God 's law, his judgements, statutes, commandments For example Exodus 22 1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it, OR A LAWNMOWER he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep, LAWNMOWERS FOR A LAWNMOWER. It is not for a man to draft the relief he wants for God has already laid down the law, the relief, the remedy as concerns a breach of The Law by a wrongdoer. Men who turn to laws of a nation for relief or redress offend the Ten Commandments, mainly 1 and 2 for nations, Canada, U.S.A, are graven images. Some rely on Romans, obey the governing authorities and ordinances of man thinking that means worldly government when God wrote 127 times obey my commandments. Governments send our children to war to kill and God said, thou shalt not kill. Let he who will be deceived be deceived...

All these commandment are for the benefit of mankind. If we do them and follow as our lord has commanded it shall be well with us. Otherwise what will a man benefit from the practices of homosexual ? There is a way that seems right to a man but the end is catastrophe and destruction. Say No to homosexual , say No to lesbianism

Being born again is not a get out of Jail Free card. the thing is believing Jesus Died for our sins is the start, but accepting what he taught an trying to live the way he taught, through his spirit in you.. how can we grow in fruits of the spirit if we continue in the same sin overran over again. faith without works is dead..
  • Richard C on Leviticus 20 - 10 years ago
God is simply speaking to Moses about unwritten sins that are done, and the punishments that will be given. He is giving Moses some of His Statues, which really should be common sense to a Christian!
  • Scott on Leviticus 20 - 10 years ago
I think the lord said what he said and meant what he said and that the evil forces of satan will tempt mankind to sin and commit abominable act to defile gods will and that those who commit abominal sins and those that accept there abominations as normal shall be judged and punished in the end.
