Scripture does not tell us when Satan rebelled and lost his rank, when Jesus said I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven, Luke 10:18, Scripture does tell us when he will be cast down permanently with no more access to heaven. He still has access because he is the accuser. When he will be cast out forever is in the future, that starts the tribulation that is coming.

Dear "Linda Harris", it became a little inexplicable this Postmyers567 is right. A little less answer to you will be. Jesus will return and then we will join Him home to the heavenly dwellings. Based on Paul's words, it will come a rapture! For Paul believed that Jesus would come before Paul laid down his flesh. And so did all the disciples! (smiles). So you see it's easy and go away in thoughts and deeds. Read and learn from the Holy Spirit. Get your own learning. Then you will understand everything in the right order.

Hi Dgjot. I believe that James 2:14-17 is given essentially to those in the family of God. Also 1 John 3:17. Our care & concern must first be to those 'within', as also in Acts 2:44,45 (to all, according to each one's need).
But should "Christian charity" be confined to those in the faith? We can think of the parable of the Good Samaritan ( Luke 10:30-36). A certain lawyer came to Jesus enquiring about attaining eternal life. Jesus asked him of what the Law required. He quoted correctly, but then asked, 'who is this neighbour that I'm supposed to love'? And Jesus' parable gave him the answer.
Yes, we must care for our own house first, whether one's earthly or spiritual family. But that love in our hearts must be demonstrated to others in need, maybe I should say, in real need; for there are many that wilfully misuse what they have & so find themselves in poverty. Yet, many others are genuinely in financial trouble, & we might be able to provide either some money, food or goods to help them out. I don't look at the 'Christ deniers' spirit when giving help to others, rather, whether there is a real need there - and usually God's Spirit instructs & prompts me to give or not. And you can give to them, in the Name of Jesus the Lord, that the receiver might know that this small gift is directed by Him through you, His servant.
But I agree with you, if you know of people or organizations that promote ungodliness & are destroyers of people's lives or country, then your gifts are better served to those who are in genuine need & their appreciation for your help & quick chat with them, will be a blessing to you both.
That's unfortunate you have to be in this situation. I am dealing with neighbors too presently and having a challenging time knowing how to be loving while also protecting myself.

You might consider praying for them as it says in Matthew. Luke says God is kind to the unthankful and evil, and we should be too. I don't believe this means to be a doormat or allow ourselves to be unprotected or be taken advantage of, however. Jesus fled the Romans out of danger, for example (initially). Paul fled danger and people trying to do him harm many times.
Sometimes the imagination of someone's motives can be falsely attributed and is helpful to sort out what actually has happened that may be illegal or harmful that you have witnessed and try to separate from other feelings or assumptions. For example, it's possibly anyone's behavior might seem suspicious if they don't know what is really behind it. For example, a lady in my neighborhood acted like I was suspicious and she opened her window to warn me away, but I was not on her property but just looking over a fence at the end of the street. I didn't tell her that I saw a backyard BBQ fire that I was checking on that I thought could possibly have put everyone's lives in danger in that community. I didn't explain because I didn't want to give false alarm until I really knew if it was a threat and ended up being mostly smoke and died down. Sometimes it helps to give people the benefit of the doubt because we need it for ourselves too.
Eph.4:26 is not about anger against our brothers in the Lord or people in general, Be Angry, and sin not, it is against the devil
we are to be angry and don't let up on him, don't allow him to accuse you and bring you into fear and doubt the power of God.

Matthew 4:4 was the Lord Jesus talking about "live" as to obtaining eternal life? One thing is for sure, he is not talking about eating physical food to survive, when studying the answer, we are to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, should this be interpreted as all that Christ taught? When studying the four gospels, the Lord Jesus taught four different topics, the gospel, the New Testament, the gospel of the kingdom and the new covenant. These are the words that came out of the mouth of God, if we are to obtain eternal life by believing these words and then living by these words through obeying them, then this message is about how to save the soul and body by faith with works. I have often pondered about James 1:21 where the apostle taught our soul is saved by obeying the Ten Commandments written in the heart of all Christians, as the new covenant. I seen the correlation between James and Luke 10:25-28 where the Lord Jesus answered the question on how to inherit eternal life, and stated it is by obeying the Ten Commandments written in the heart.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. ( 1 Tim. 6:10). Paul himself; in fact was a tentmaker; who encouraged others to make things with their hands ( Acts 18:3). He also apparently paid for food during his travels ( 2 Thess. 3:8). Those who used to steal were given similar admonitions to work and be productive. ( Eph. 4:28).
There is; of course nothing wrong for those actively pursuing work in the ministry to be supported and fed ( Luke 10:7). We should be discerning as to the financial accountability of those we support; however and aware of those attracted to "filthy lucre" ( Titus 1:11). Such behavior obviously is characteristic of those "prosperity preachers" whose mouth betrays their true intentions (out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh-( Luke 6:45). Such resources as "Charity Navigator" are helpful to demonstrate what percentages of funds are used directly for ministry purposes. The church itself; as a Body should be supporting one another as the early church; at least in some ways meeting each others needs; as well as contributing financially or using their talents for proclaiming the Good News and fulfilling the Great Commission.
We shouldn't neglect verses for laypeople to "work heartily unto the Lord."( Colossians 3:23-24). We are representing our King; much as Daniel served the king of Babylon daily during the exile ( Daniel 1:5). This was much the same pattern as with Joseph in Egypt. We are even to be faithful with "unrighteous mammon" ( Luke 16:10-11). If we can't be trusted with earthly things; how can we be trusted with heavenly treasure? There are plenty of warnings to avoid amassing large amounts of gold and silver ( Deut 17:17) which God instructed Solomon (along with many wives). Money itself; therefore is an inanimate object; but as they say if "money talks" or gets a life of it's own in our lives then it is clear that it has become an idol. Matthew 6:3 is a good read on the subject..
James 1:21 here we are taught the message that the soul is saved by faith with works, the Apostle James writes teaches three commandments, the first is to lay aside all filthiness, number two is to lay aside an abundance of wrong doing, the third is to receive with meekness, the Ten Commandments that was written in the heart of every Christian, for this is able to save out souls. This appears to be the same theology that the Lord Jesus taught the Lawyer in Luke 10:25-28 when he answered the question on how to inherit eternal life, Jesus said keep the Ten Commandments written in the heart and you shall live.

But should "Christian charity" be confined to those in the faith? We can think of the parable of the Good Samaritan ( Luke 10:30-36). A certain lawyer came to Jesus enquiring about attaining eternal life. Jesus asked him of what the Law required. He quoted correctly, but then asked, 'who is this neighbour that I'm supposed to love'? And Jesus' parable gave him the answer.
Yes, we must care for our own house first, whether one's earthly or spiritual family. But that love in our hearts must be demonstrated to others in need, maybe I should say, in real need; for there are many that wilfully misuse what they have & so find themselves in poverty. Yet, many others are genuinely in financial trouble, & we might be able to provide either some money, food or goods to help them out. I don't look at the 'Christ deniers' spirit when giving help to others, rather, whether there is a real need there - and usually God's Spirit instructs & prompts me to give or not. And you can give to them, in the Name of Jesus the Lord, that the receiver might know that this small gift is directed by Him through you, His servant.
But I agree with you, if you know of people or organizations that promote ungodliness & are destroyers of people's lives or country, then your gifts are better served to those who are in genuine need & their appreciation for your help & quick chat with them, will be a blessing to you both.
That's unfortunate you have to be in this situation. I am dealing with neighbors too presently and having a challenging time knowing how to be loving while also protecting myself.

You might consider praying for them as it says in Matthew. Luke says God is kind to the unthankful and evil, and we should be too. I don't believe this means to be a doormat or allow ourselves to be unprotected or be taken advantage of, however. Jesus fled the Romans out of danger, for example (initially). Paul fled danger and people trying to do him harm many times.
Sometimes the imagination of someone's motives can be falsely attributed and is helpful to sort out what actually has happened that may be illegal or harmful that you have witnessed and try to separate from other feelings or assumptions. For example, it's possibly anyone's behavior might seem suspicious if they don't know what is really behind it. For example, a lady in my neighborhood acted like I was suspicious and she opened her window to warn me away, but I was not on her property but just looking over a fence at the end of the street. I didn't tell her that I saw a backyard BBQ fire that I was checking on that I thought could possibly have put everyone's lives in danger in that community. I didn't explain because I didn't want to give false alarm until I really knew if it was a threat and ended up being mostly smoke and died down. Sometimes it helps to give people the benefit of the doubt because we need it for ourselves too.

In the Old Testament ( Numbers 22-24) when the Israelites were about to enter Hanan the king of Moab Balaam asked the prophet Balam to curce them for him. Balam told him that he will pray to God and what God tells him that he will do.

If that was true for Israel at that time, then how much more that is true now in NT that we have Jesus Christ's Blood as a shield against evil things? Didn't Jesus said that we have authority on satan? You have to decide this for yourself, but as far as i know the world, it does us no good! Because then our thought comes to utilization and it seems very worldly.
The world has no care for me either, it's probably pretty normal and feel that way. But remember Martha and Maria. Martha struggled and i can believe she got quite tired and even exhausted. While Mary received spiritual food. Luke 10:38-42 The best way is the Spiritual, although one must also take worldly chores occasionally, one can always Glorify God in what one does.

There is; of course nothing wrong for those actively pursuing work in the ministry to be supported and fed ( Luke 10:7). We should be discerning as to the financial accountability of those we support; however and aware of those attracted to "filthy lucre" ( Titus 1:11). Such behavior obviously is characteristic of those "prosperity preachers" whose mouth betrays their true intentions (out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh-( Luke 6:45). Such resources as "Charity Navigator" are helpful to demonstrate what percentages of funds are used directly for ministry purposes. The church itself; as a Body should be supporting one another as the early church; at least in some ways meeting each others needs; as well as contributing financially or using their talents for proclaiming the Good News and fulfilling the Great Commission.
We shouldn't neglect verses for laypeople to "work heartily unto the Lord."( Colossians 3:23-24). We are representing our King; much as Daniel served the king of Babylon daily during the exile ( Daniel 1:5). This was much the same pattern as with Joseph in Egypt. We are even to be faithful with "unrighteous mammon" ( Luke 16:10-11). If we can't be trusted with earthly things; how can we be trusted with heavenly treasure? There are plenty of warnings to avoid amassing large amounts of gold and silver ( Deut 17:17) which God instructed Solomon (along with many wives). Money itself; therefore is an inanimate object; but as they say if "money talks" or gets a life of it's own in our lives then it is clear that it has become an idol. Matthew 6:3 is a good read on the subject..
