There is safety in walking before God. Also, you are assured of divine guidance because He not just Alpha ,but Omega. God has already gone ahead of you and arrived at the destination He is taking you. He knows all the booby traps on the way so He can safely lead you there. The question is: How pliable are you in God's hand? To what extent do you yield to the control of His Spirit? Ask God for grace to walk blamelessly before Him until He takes you home.

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."

    thanks be to God.

I enjoyed reading Luke, chapter 1. My heart felt happy as I read Elizabeth's comment, but even more as I Zechariah's comments one his tongue was loosed. He praised The Lord, prophesied on his son John that he would go before The Lord. Lord loose my tongue to tell others of your saving grace, help me to prophecy of you goodness and saving grace for all men who would come to you to receive it. Amen.

A holy "thing", sounds unwieldy to me, but that is exactly what my old King James bible says, so I won't argue with it, especially since my salvation depends on it. Praise The Lord, holy is His Name.
  • Santosh Dongardive on Luke 1:50 - 11 years ago
Bible always talks about "fearing God". It is a fear with honor, with respect because God is almighty God who is holy and our savior. Hence God pours His mercy to those who fear Him. And moreover this fear of God has an impact on the next generation so His mercy extends to them. So he is gracious from Generation to Generation
  • Udochi Frank on Luke 1:80 - 11 years ago
There is always a period of training and preparation before manifestation. John was undergoing training and also recieving instructions from d lord which will help him answer the questions of life( john 1:19-23). We are also expected to d same.
  • Mark on Luke 1:17 - 11 years ago
The Spirit in Elijah and the Spirit in John the Baptist is the same Spirit that belongs in the HeaRt of believers today. God is not divided, there is one body, one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling, Jew and Gentile. Its the Spirit of Christ. In the psalms it says "In the fullness of this book, its written of me{JESUS]"
  • Rev. Tim George on Luke 1:24 - 11 years ago
Elisabeth hid herself according to the will of GOD so she could rejoice in the Lord for what He had done by taking away her reproach. We too must rejoice in the Lôrd for saving us and giving us a new name Christians. In the fulness ôf time GOD sent Mary to cônfirm what GOD had done to her cousin Elisabeth. For with GOD nothing shall be impossible.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Luke 1:46 - 11 years ago
Mary said my soul doth magnify the Lord. Thank God for the humility of Mary. After hearing the news from Gabriel that she will bare the Lord Jesus Christ. She said behold the handmaiden of the Lord, and be it unto me according to thy Word. Mary trusted and obeyed, and John leaped for joy in the womb of Elizabeth at the sixth month. John would be the forerunner of the Lord, and would turn the hearts of the fathers unto their children. Humble thyself under the mighty hand of God, and in due time thou shall be exalted.

Study the name Jesus His real Hebrew name is Yhwh pronounced Yahweh then study the name of the Apostles you will find that their names had meaning.Like one means a gift from Yahweh another means Yahweh is salvation. The Messiah said I come in the name of My Father and His name is Yahweh.Look it up, LOOK IT UP SOON!!! The time is short the signs are in revelation and current events will prove the end is near.

EVERY ONE THAT IS CLEAN shall eat the HOLY OFFERINGS ( Numbers 18:11). But for THOSE WHO ARE NOT CLEAN Jesus said, "WOE UNTO YOU, scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! for YE PAY TITHE of mint and anise and cummin, and have OMITTED THE "WEIGHTIER" MATTERS OF THE LAW, judgment, mercy, and faith: these OUGHT YE TO HAVE DONE, and not to leave the other undone" ( Matthew 23:23). MEANING: Even you give tithes and yet inside of you is FULL OF DEAD MEN'S BONES AND ALL UNCLEANNESS you are nothing but a CURSED, "WOE UNTO YOU, scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear BEAUTIFUL OUTWARD, but are WITHIN FULL OF DEAD MEN'S BONES, AND OF ALL UNCLEANNESS" ( Matthew 23:27). Therefore, IN HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS BEFORE HIM is what matters most than any other offerings. Most especially AFTER BEING REDEEMED AND DELIVERED: "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for HE hath visited and REDEEMED his people ( Luke 1:68), That HE would grant unto us, that WE BEING DELIVERED out of the hand of our enemies might SERVE HIM WITHOUT FEAR ( Luke 1:74), IN HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS BEFORE HIM, "all the days" of our life ( Luke 1:75). AMEN!

If ever men in a church are starting to step down from preaching then God shall choose a man among them to ordain him to preach in that church because it is His will that the fruit in that church should remain ( John 15:16) and with God nothing shall be impossible ( Luke 1:37) just as how Saul was told as His chosen vessel to bear His name ( Acts 9:15).
  • Juan on Luke 1:31 - 11 years ago
Lord god said to call him Emmanuel why "HE"got named Jeshua {Jesus}.The "good shepard, "carpenter""master""son of man""king of kings""the messiah" were some of his names that people referred him by in those days.Confused.
  • Michelle on Luke 1:17 - 11 years ago
This scripture strikes a chord in my heart as I hear the calling of the Lord upon my life. People go about in this world, often cavalierly, as if they created themselves. They put food to their mouths without giving thanks to the Sustainer of All, and continuously pat themselves on the back for a job well done, when it is by the grace of God that they were given their wherewithal to complete the task. We must give honor to God for all that He has done, for all the he has created and continues to create, and show gratitude for the smallest to the largest accomplishments in life.
