I thought that Jesus was at a dinner with the Pharisees-in which Mary Magdalene rushed in to show gratitude by washing Jesus's feet in tears and anointing them with expensive ointment. Jesus was arrested the next evening. By dawn He was ordered to be whipped 40 lashes.

There are more than a few born again believers that believe that it is much later than we tend to think in the Book of Revelation. The same believe that the virgins with oil in their lamps are ready for the Bridegroom when he comes.

He used wine to represent the blood of Gods Lamb in the instituting of the New Covenant. After Jesus died on the Cross, the Veil (which is Huge) was torn from top to bottom, signifying that the death of the sacrifice, The Lamb of God; that God had provided, was completed. The New Covenant was in force. The Old Covenant had passed away: was torn in half.

The Blood of Jesus RATIFIES the Covenant.

This is the Covenant that gives Modern Day Israel, the Deed to the Land of Israel.

The "Last Supper"

Wesley refers to the day Christ died as the day of Passover.

The day of the "Last Supper" was not the day of Passover, but the day BEFORE Passover, also called the "Preparation Day"

John 19:14

"And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!"

To understand the timeline, it must be understood that a Hebrew day begins at SUNSET.

You didn't respond to my specifi question all you did was send me the subsequent scriptures to Luke 22 vs 18. Please respond interms of yes or no. Was it wine or not that was in the cup in Luke 22 vs 18?

22:17 And he took the cup - That cup which used to be brought at the beginning of the paschal solemnity, and said, Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I will not drink - As if he had said, Do not expect me to drink of it: I will drink no more before I die.

22:19 And he took bread - Namely, some time after, when supper was ended, wherein they had eaten the paschal lamb. This is my body - As he had just now celebrated the paschal supper, which was called the passover, so in like figurative language, he calls this bread his body. And this circumstance of itself was sufficient to prevent any mistake, as if this bread was his real body, any more than the paschal lamb was really the passover.

22:20 This cup is the New Testament - Here is an undeniable figure, whereby the cup is put for the wine in the cup. That's admirable that you're so dedicated to seeking God. I have no doubt he will reward you (seek and ye shall find).

I'm not aware of anywhere in scripture where it says fasting will force a response out of God though. Where does this expectation come from? God is not obligated to give any verbal or auditory response to anyone. Keep in mind God didn't even answer Jesus's prayer himself! Luke 22:42. God mainly communicates through his Word which we already have and can use other people too. Our conscience (Holy Spirit) with guilt or peace can also help confirm our choices. Remember it says to not test God. Luke 4:12. So, I personally would not create a scenario where you believe you are forcing God to respond in some way or another. For example, not taking a sick baby to the hospital for care, but praying and trying to force your will on God to heal seems irresponsible and is testing God.

Also we are not promised an easy life. Paul had countless problems, so did Jesus. Just because we have problems does not mean we did something wrong or that there's sin in our life. We should still regularly confess and ask for forgiveness of our sins while we follow Jesus however, but not to feel unnecessary guilt from it. We're supposed to love ourselves. This gives us the capacity to show love to others.

This is my personal opinion. God has already blessed us with freewill and His truth in the Word in order to act using our best judgments. I think we should continue to pray for our concerns, but also not create an arbitrary test where we expect God to respond by a certain made-up deadline otherwise we draw assumptions. The Bible says: that there is only "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" ( 1 Timothy 2:5; "If we confess our sins (to whom?), he (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" ( 1 John 1:9).

The Eucharist bread & wine mystically changed to the actual Body & Blood of Christ so you partook of Christ each time at Mass. The wafer tasted like a wafer, but you were required to believe that a physical change in them took place because Jesus was being crucified afresh each time. The Bible says in Romans 6:9,10: "Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth NO MORE; death hath NO MORE dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin ONCE: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God." The Eucharist (we call the Lord's Table) also has the bread & the wine but they are representative only of His broken Body & shed Blood for us at Calvary. If they were supposed to change into His actual Body, then His disciples should have rather eaten his flesh when they ate together in the Upper Room ( Luke 22:19,20). But they ate the bread & drank the wine instead, which were only emblems of His Body & Blood. So, the apostles & the Church (then & now) do not re-crucify Jesus each time but we remember His Death in this way as Jesus instructed.

I've only mentioned a few things that are important for you to know, but there is much more. The matter of not praying to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, or praying to the saints, or believing in purgatory, & many more RC teachings that are not in the Bible.

Yet, to answer your question: "how do I know if I'm saved?" Firstly, you need to know that Christ's salvation is only by having FAITH in what He did for you on the Cross: faith in His dying for your sins, taking your place; His Resurrection back to life showing that God accepted His Sacrifice; His Ascension back into Heaven & His intercessory work for you right now.

My thought is that because we have laws that allow us to protect ourselves from those that seek to do us harm as well as rob us of all the things needed to survive. Other wise we would be as sheep led to slaughter, taken advantage of at every turn by those that neither believe or have any regard for others but them selves. Of course I will bring up the death of 6 million people in WW 2. Could you stand by and watch your own families lives taken from you before your very eyes and you still live and not raise a hand to try to save them? I am not a war monger by any means, but I believe there is a time and place otherwise we could be speaking German or have Oriental overlords in our lives right now. Ruth, as Mishael has stated, you need to spend much time in God's Word allowing the Spirit to teach you & convince you about its Truths. A good Bible-believing Church is also very important so that you are fed the meat of the Word, which only can satisfy. You may have in the past switched over to attending the RC Church because of your friends; even in this matter one needs a solid stand, as compromise, even for friends' sake, means that you are dabbling with unbiblical matters.

To provide an adequate & meaningful defence to your RC friends about the Eucharist will be difficult as RCs are brought up rigidly in their faith, living with the fear that any departure from it or questioning its beliefs will mean rejection by God. So, if a religion preaches that the way of salvation & the way to God can only be through the Church, you know immediately there is grave error. So, for RCs, their salvation & their Christianity exists purely because of their connection to the Church; so attending Mass, Confession, partaking of the Eucharist, worship/prayer to Mary, self-effort to assist payment for sins, purgatory, etc. are all teachings foreign to the Bible & taught by RCs so as to keep a tight hold on them.

Luke 22:14-20 shows us what happened in the Upper Room at Passover time. In remembrance of Jesus' forthcoming death, He ate this Last Supper with them. As in the Jewish Passover, a meal was eaten in remembrance of when the LORD 'passed over' the children of Israel when He saw the Lamb's blood smeared on their doorposts but those that didn't have it there (i.e. the Egyptians) had all their firstborn killed ( Exodus 12). So Jesus & His disciples remembered that time of Israel's escape from God's Wrath & Egypt's bondage but also looked forward to the sacrificing of the Passover Lamb (i.e. Jesus on the Cross), when the blood shed would be applied to our hearts assuring us of God forgiving our sins & our acceptance by Him, thereby not condemning us to death & Hell.

Why did Jesus tell his disciples to buy a sword? Not to murder, rather to protect themselves and family.

God showed us that we do not even know ourselves! Peter reverted to human nature when fear took over. Imagine all of the wonders and miracles performed by Jesus which Peter witnessed, but imminent death was all that he could think of and denying Christ was his first defense. The real official reason is as follows: Back in 1611, the past tense was "brake" while the past participle was "broken". "Brake" is now considered obsolete or archaic but was still in use then at the beginning of the 17th century. The shortened form "broke" became really common between the 17th and 18 th century, which was just a touch past when this Bible went into print. From orig.root "bhreg"

Look at it this way. Do you understand what the verse is talking about even though the verse uses brake? If so, then just ignore it. Believe me I know. In Acts 13:19 I questioned why Canaan was spelled Chanaan. But eventually I thought, “I know what Paul is talking about.” So, I ignored it and just left it at that. Why does KJV version in Luke 22:19 use the word "brake" instead of "broke"?

Mathew 11: 11 is supported by Luke 7:28. It is clear that the covenant of God's kingdom was made a short time after John dies at last supper 33CE. Luke 22:19-30, No one who lives before this will attend heavenly kingdom, the Bible says that they will dwell on Earth with full of happiness under God's heavenly kingdom for which Jesus will be the King with other few chosen kings under him.
