What you're Saying is that you Don't Believe God, that The Word Became Flesh. A Body Made of a Woman( John 1:14, Galatians 4:4) --- A Spirit Hath not Flesh and Bones( Luke 24:39) / The Promised Seed is Christ( Genesis 3:15, Galatians 3:16) The Holy Spirit is Our Comforter and Teacher( John 14: 16, 26) What you're Doing is Twisting His Word for you're Foolishness, Which is Heresy. Ask Forgiveness

Can people who call themselves Catholic be saved?...yes, I do think so, can people who hold fast to the Catholic doctrine be saved?....I don't see any way they can be. Let every man examine himself with the Holy scriptures as the "only" standard.
  • WC on Luke 24 - 7 years ago
Catholics are not saved people. Trusting in Christ and Him alone is what saves. Everything about Catholicism teaches to trust in other things...Mary, Pope's edicts, confessing to priests, etc. I know because I came out of that. It's a filthy religion like all false religions. When a Catholic gets saved, they leave all that behind which would make them no longer Catholic.

Maritza: No One is Saved by The Items You Listed or by the pope, priests or Their church. Salvation is Only by The Blood of The Lamb:( Hebrews 9:11-12, Revelation 1:5) I Talked with Many Catholics, most Said The Same Thing. The Church Will Take Care of Them, When they Go to Purgatory Someone Buys some Candles and Prays for Them. They do whatever The Pope Says. Is Their Church Ran by Devils?

IF ONE BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS GOD'S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, BORN OF A VIRGIN, GOD'S WORD MADE FLESH, THAT JESUS DIED FOR THEIR SINS AND THAT GOD RAISED HIS SON UP ON THE THIRD DAY FOLLOWING HIS CRUCIFIXION, IN THE FLESH STILL BEARING HIS WOUNDS SAYING TO THOMAS FEEL IN MY HANDS AND MY SIDE, AND BE NOT UNBELIEVING BUT BELIEVING FOR A SPIRIT HAS NOT FLESH AND BONE AS YOU SEE I DO. CONFESS JESUS AS LOR

Christian's do not believe Catholics are saved because the, "Worship items of faith." I am not CATHOLIC, but answer this christian:Paul would pray over a piece of cloth and when the recipient open it, they were healed..what would YOU do with the cloth..It would be kept as proof, like an Ohmer of Manna, Aaron's budding staff, you would fault Catholics for this?!! Yes they are saved...!!!
  • Daniel Gittelson on Luke 24 - 7 years ago
YOU ASK IF CATHOLICS ARE SAVED. I AM NOT CATHOLIC, BUT I KNOW THAT THERE IS EVERYTHING IN THE CATHOLIC BIBLE NECESSARY TO BE SAVED! 1. JESUS WAS BORN OF A VIRGIN. 2. JESUS IS GOD'S WORD MADE FLESH. JESUS IS GOD HIMSELF GOD IN THE FLESH. JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS. 3. GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD, STILL BEARING THE WOUNDS OF HIS CRUCIFIXION AND SAYING TO THOMAS, WHO DOUBTED .

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that 'Repentance' and 'Remission of Sins' should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem...........WOW, WOW, WOW!

Verse 21~When Jesus was put to death his disciples were disappointed because they expected him to set up an earthly Kingdom. God's Kingdom is a heavenly Kingdom and so Jesus fulfilled prophecy by being put to death and resurrected to the heavens.

Luke 24:47, Jesus said? Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all Nations, beginning at Jerusalem
This scripture was fulfilled and Acts 2:38 when Peter said repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promises and to you and to your children and to all them a fa

"Servant of God" back up to verse 9. Rest used in verse 9 is from the Greek word 'sabbatismos' which means a sabbath rest. To the people of God there still remains a Sabbath. Stoning was under Moses law which Jesus fulfilled Luke 24:44. God commanded his 10 commandments Exo 20), added no more to them (deu 5:22) and will never alter what he himself spoke ( psalms 89:34). See also, Ecclesiastes 12:13

This conversation between God and the disciples is divine proof that the Bible is true and that Jesus appeared in the flesh. It also proves that He rose from the dead.

"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures." This is not listed among the so-called 37 NT miracles. But a miracle it was. Due to this singular event, we have the NT in our hands today. If we cannot claim this miracle unto ourselves (though I do in my life, do you?), we can certainly claim the NT that resulted from this miracle. And that's good enough for me.

"Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, AND ALL THINGS that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED". Jesus said in Luke 24:44, "...that ALL THINGS must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, concerning me". All that is left to be accomplished, is His Triumphant Return on that day.

The Son of man is our LORD Jesus Christ, when he dwelt on earth. Son of man is mentioned 196 times in the pure KJV bible. Here are a couple of scriptures to read. Luke 22:69 - Luke 24:7

"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,..but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." The Apostles had been with Jesus Himself for three and a half years; they had been eye-witnesses of His ministry, His sufferings, and now His resurrection. He just now opened their understanding and commands them to WAIT FOR THE POWER!

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Disciple: Jesus already fulfilled the law. He died and arose again from the dead. You are out of context. Luke 24:44] And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

God is in Genesis 1, Lord God is in Genesis 2. God is love and does not plot enmity. Lords of the land, kings= aggressors plot enmity. God did not create evil, man created it, a Lord calling himself God created it. God sent Jesus to teach us that. Moses blessed? The Lord was displeased with Moses: “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, Numbers 2

Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Exodus 17:6 "Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel."

The Jews hated Jesus being labeled their King. The Jews are looking for a secular KING to lead them to victory in the end of days. That is the prophecy about their messiah. They never described Jesus. Jesus was not sent to earth to rule Israel as a king. They offered him that. Jesus came to save the lost lambs of Israel, those that believe peace is achieved by war and blood sacrifice cleanses sin.
  • Insight777 on Luke 24 - 8 years ago
No where in the Torah is a Savior mentioned that will die and be raised in 3 days. Their Christ is secular. Their belief : "mashiach" literally means "the anointed one," and refers to the ancient practice of anointing kings with oil when they took the throne. The mashiach is the one who will be anointed as king in the End of Days. V46 is the Christian scripture that has been written.

V.53 - As I just now read this v., and noticed the word "temple" and knew this temple was in Jerusalem, and that the Apostles and disciples (120) tarries there for10 days; it occurred to me quite awhile ago while scanning the internet on Jerusalem historical places, that I saw a pic of the 'cenacle' that has been rebuilt where this 'tarrying' happened. cont.

"A Fresh Look At Matt. 28:19"; Trinitarians favorite scripture is, in reality, one of the best vs. for Jesus name one God believers. It is easily rendered so by asking the simple question, 'What is the name'? The answer is: JESUS. Jesus ALSO said, "That repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name." Peter got it exactly right with Acts2:38, Peter again, Acts 4:10-12; 10:1-6.

quote - A vital fact must be remembered regarding the Apostles being taught. It is important to US because it applies to us in exactly the same way it did to them. "Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures." Without divine illumination no man can understand the scriptures. unquote
