Sometimes we need to reflect inside & ascertain if we are really seeking truth or are we seeking to be right. I have made that mistake in the past. Self study, commentaries, & concordances have taught me much. I find the more that I study I am humbled by how much I thought I knew & can see, now, just how much I have to learn. But God has given us a clear understanding in scripture on the important things pertaining to our salvation.
His Word is our guide & meant for a lifelong search & fellowship with him. When he reveals the meaning of a scripture I did not understand my heart 'sings'. Just this week I finally understand what James was trying to tell us. I want to be a Berean!

They brought the sick to Jesus after the Sabbath ended at sunset. 🌙⭐
  • Fred scanlan on Luke 4 - 4 years ago
It is interesting that people waited till evening to bring the sick to be healed. People were afraid of something? Perhaps there was a division between the people the poor and the rich. The rich being those affiliated with the church? Christs words have just enough salt, to convict the guilty. They would rather throw Him off a cliff then to hear anymore His word. The holy spirit describes what happens when the individual is convicted of sin. The power in the true word of God! It is sharper than a two edged sword! It will severe joints from the marrow! It will bring you to your knees! Oh you faithless generation of vipers. How shall you escape so great a God! His kingdom shall have no end.

My friend, come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord. For God is not willing that any should perish, Matthew 18:11, John 3:16 Of his Son it is said the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised," "To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9; Luke 4:18

The Bible is clear, the Sabbath is a day of rest for all people. Exodus 20: 8-11 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Mark2:27,28- the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. Therefore the Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath. Ex. 16:18-20, Christ a Sabbath keeper, Luke 4: 16. Luke 23:52-54-56. Throughout the new testament the Christians kept the Sabbath. Acts 13:14, Acts 13:42-44, Acts 16:11-13.

Mark 2:27,28, Luke 4:16, Matt. 12:8, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:15-17, Exodus 35:2. From these texts The day of the Lord and the Lord day is the same. Even Jesus custom was to go into the synagogue on the Sabbath. As Christians we are to follow Christ example, obey His commandments.

The real SABBATH is the day mentioned in the Bible, the seventh -day of the week, Saturday. The Sabbath is the fourth commandment , Ex. 20:8-11. In the NT Jesus taught that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2:27,28. We follow Christ teaching, as it was His custom He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath. Luke 4:16. John 14:15, Ezekiel 20:12,16,20, Rev. 22:14

The King James version is one of the best versions based upon the early text. There are other fair translation. I have found that versions that put a subscript behind Luke 4:4. but.by every word of God .I was once corrected by a pastor.where woman was saved by another version. We must also realizeRealize that pastors give weekly sermons based on their own version and experiences. .

Marvin R Rose, please read KJV bible scriptures: Luke 4:8 Ephesians 4:26 - 6:11 Philippians 4:8 2 Timothy 2:26 James 4:7 1 Peter 5:8. Also, search for a book named 7 Biblical Signs of the End Times .

You are correct to say the Sabbath was changed. It was not changed biblically, neither did Christ change the Sabbath to Sunday. No where in the Bible will you find the word Sunday. Exodus 20:8-11, Mark 2:27,28, Luke 4:16. If we are followers of Christ, we will follow His example that He set for us. John 14:14 If you love keep my commandments.

Everyday cannot be the Sabbath, because God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh-day. Gen.2:1-3, Mark 2:27-28, Luke 4:16. Matt. 12:8

Stand strong in these days. Recognize when God Blesses you. Praise His Holy Name. See the evilness try to take your Fathet from you. Recognize and fight back the world's ways. Take and bring the people of God near you. The others keep away. Stay close to your Father. Remember His words as you read your Bible. Remember the 10 Commandments. Live them. Ask for forgiveness if sin is close to you. Figh

  • Steve on Luke 4 - 6 years ago
From wence does the Devil appear? To and fro upon the earth, as stated in Job. God expelled him from Heaven, and his kingdom is amongst us on earth. His job is to turn people away from the peace of God, and towards the utter and inherent misery in Devil. He is full of subtlety, the most subtle, as in the garden of Eden. Those void of the true knowledge of life will fall into his deception, yes?

Reading without comments, rather letting the Holy Spirit speak, is my greatest gift in understanding scriptures as this Luke 4, as I had just searched the phrase "synagogue of Satan". I have The Mind of Christ guiding me by His written Word and by The Voice of His Spirit.

Isaiah 61 is all we or Israel need to know about what Jesus was and is. If this chapter was examined determinedly we would have the key to everything. This is his description of himself.

Verse 39,...Therefore they sought again to take him:" but he escaped out of their hand", this vanishing of Jesus happened many times in Luke 4:30," But he passing through the mist of them went his way"...This is a great Miracle by GOD, just when Jesus was going to be stoned or apprehended suddenly time was frozen and stood still and he just walk away ,there is no other explanation. a Miracle.
