    Yes.

Also, in these following scriptures , we clearly see the Godhead ( Acts 17:27-30) speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:37

    1 John 5:7.

John 10:30, I and My Father are one.

My favorite is Malachi 3:16-17. God listens when we talk together abut Him.

  • Tithes and Offerings - In Reply on Job 20:15 - 5 years ago
    2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

The tithe which is 10% of your paycheck, is given to your church. If you don't have a church then send it to the minister who teaches Scripture to you and feeds you the Bread of God (Bible).

I believe that offerings (not the tithe) are between you and God. It could be money, groceries for the needy, your own time helping others, etc. You dedicate your offering to God, in the name of Jesus. Speak it forth so it's recorded in the Book of Remembrance, Malachi 3:16.

I don't know what you mean by wilderness, if you want you can hit the REPLY button and let me know how to pray for you.

If you want to read what scholars have explained about your scripture, you will need to touch your scripture to highlight it Yellow.

Scroll slowly downward until you see the COMMENTARY BOX.

Some commentary will explain in groups of scripture ie.1-5, 6-20, Etc

I use this a lot! If search can't find your particular verse, a box to search in Google will pop up. Scan the verses there and see if you see the scripture worded a little differently.

  • Book of Joel 2 and Locust Invasion in Africa - In Reply on Malachi 3:2 - 5 years ago
One verse mentions about worldwide swarms of locusts. This is a piece of a news article from 2/14/2020:

The current swarms of locusts are the most serious outbreak in decades, affecting Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea and most recently, Tanzania and Uganda. The locusts could fly into South Sudan, a country whose population is already struggling with high levels of hunger. The swarms are extremely large, in North-Eastern Kenya, one swarm was measured to be 37 miles long and 25 miles wide.

The UN says that desert locusts are the most dangerous migratory pests because of their capacity to decimate crops, threatening food security and livelihoods. Swarms, which can contain 40-80 million locust adults, can consume crops in one day that would provide food for 35,000 people.

"The longer the outbreak continues, the higher the risk of famine goes up," Peter Smerdon of the World Food Program in East Africa tells TIME. "You need to knock them out before they start wreaking further havoc."

The latest locust swarms migrated from the Arabian peninsula, where cyclones in the deserts of Oman this fall created ideal breeding conditions. The swarms arrived on the African continent three months ago and have since grown in size and scope. The UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) has warned that the swarms could increase by 500 times come June, in light of rainy forecasts. [ Next paragraph indicates it may be from global weather changes]

if you go to the Commentary Box on this website, it will tell you what Wesley taught on this chapter in Joel.

It would be a study into history of locust swarms on earth. Joel's locusts seem to mention The Chaldeans.

I can't do a study like this quickly. Co to the Commentary Box ( below the 2 Search Boxes) and highlight the verses and read. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you place the Time on these events.

God will give you peace that passes human understanding. Ask for it.

    Matthew 6:25

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

    1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a (woman)man, I put away childish things.

Malachi 3:16 Let God hear you speak Faith.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

    *******

You need to turn from the dark thoughts and get some Faith in God inside of you.

A testimony of mine: I worked in a huge office of mostly women and women bosses.

I was sitting in my car at lunch, depressed, reading my Bible. I saw this verse that Jesus said: bless those that curse you. Went back into work. The boss was gossiping with other bosses.

I thought, I'm just going to give this scripture a try. I start blessing the bosses, in Jesus name and asked Him to promote them into better positions. Couple of weeks go by and they announce the big boss was taking a promotion in another building! Yay

Also, that a boss from outside was taking her place. We wait patiently. We got a new boss that was Much fairer and made our work lives fairer and revised work loads evenly. I was thanking God at lunch every day after.

If you'll bless and not curse; what you pray in honest faith will be done. It makes your faith get big. So if Satan thumps you, just activate your faith on a scripture that describes your situation. Let faith keep your hope solid while you're waiting.

Don't give the demons a legal right to make you despair. Give Praise to God all the while. Let Trust become a tree that gives you shade at lunch.

You accuse God? God never lies. His plan of salvation for ALL of believing mankind has been in place, since Genesis.

If you were a big reader you'd know that.

Thank the Lord you wrote this instead of speaking it: Malachi 3:16-18

    Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Psalms 22:16-18 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:5-7 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

    Isaiah 11:2-9 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

John 4:25-26 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Messiah came. On the day he was crucified, well over 100 prophesies about him had bee fulfilled. You compare those prophesies with the recorded historical account of that time.
  • Mark 414 18-20 TITHING - In Reply on Malachi 3 - 5 years ago
I heard this parable as a new Christian. I didn't really understand at first. I just did it as an act of obedience:

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Jesus is THE SOWER (verse 14). He gives the Increase according to the willingness of the heart. There's another scripture that says to give it with cheerfulness.

I know that the money is increased in my life: learning of the Word of God, healing, pizza on my table; prayers answered for my family.

I know satan fights against it because he immediately rushes in to argue about new tires, limping appliances, etc. He doesn't want us to be obedient in anything.

Well the tithe was to support the Priest tribe of Levi in the old testament.

Numbers 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

It was to support the tribe that did the work of the Lord for the Tabernacle.

TV preachers who claim you must tithe, to them of course, should MUST prove that they are of the tribe of Levi and are worthy to receive the tithe on behalf of the Lord. IF NOT send them nothing. If they are not of Levi then you are not tithing.

Jesus never said anything about losing salvation over tithes and neither did the apostles.

I suggest you ask the wife to show where this is since I can not find this doctrine.

Offerings yes and they were to be given willingly as one felt led.

Should we help the less fortunate or buy Jet fuel for the TV preachers Lear Jet?

Jet fuel is sure expensive as is the upkeep on mansions.

    William,

You are correct. Salvation is by the grace of God. It is God who saves us and it is God who keeps us saved. We can't keep ourselves saved. We have to ask ourselves who are we trusting in as far as our salvation goes? Are we trusting in our own human work and effort, or are we trusting in God? If our salvation or loss of is dependent upon what we do or do not do, then it is no more of grace. There is nothing that reverse our physical birth, and there is nothing that can reverse our Spiritual birth. If it were not for the power of God's grip and His power to keep me saved, my flesh would walk away right now. So again, we have to ask, are we trusting in our fleshly work to keep us saved, or are we trusting in God's power? I know who I'm trusting. And apart from Him and His power to keep me, I'm a goner! Salvation cannot be lost. Salvation is all of God. The only thing I contributed to my salvation was the sin from which I needed to be saved from. Hopefully your wife will come to know that her salvation is not dependent upon what she does or does not do, but upon the power and grace of God. Jesus has taken up residence in my life and He promised that He will never leave me. So if He never leaves me, which He has promised, then I have eternal life because I have Christ, an He is eternal. I hope this helps. God bless!!!
  • Adam - In Reply on Malachi 3 - 5 years ago
I believe we aren't truly 'saved' until we're judged after this life. But I believe grace covers those who genuinely seek and follow Jesus- a Christian is a Christ follower. If someone doesn't follow Christ they won't be saved, and I believe if a Christian stops following Christ and follows the world or satan instead I believe they are not saved. If a Christian commits blasphemy of the holy spirit they aren't saved either. But there is nothing in the Bible about tithing and salvation being connected.

My wife tells me that you can lose your salvation by not giving your tithes ,I can say I am not sure about this,we are saved by the the Grace of our Father in Heaven.

Can anyone offer any info about this .

I've had the same kind of experience. I lost all my party animal friends; even casual Christians.

All you have to do is ask Jesus to bring new friends into your circle. Set aside a little budget so you and new friends can go to I-HOP and get Nachos for 6. :D

Keep your "discernment ears on" in case of Casual/Worldly Christians. Always take your Bible. Don't be shocked if the people in the next booth lean over to hear you all lift up Jesus. Read Malachi 3:16-17 (Click on this link)

People love the power money and such gives them over others but you can never buy a true love with money and to gain money is stripping the earth of all it and changing the order set for it! The earth is alive just as we are it heals itself, cleanse itself, plants itself, it was meant to be be helpful to give us life meant to be a garden that we could all simply walk and eat no need for even shelter as before the flood there was not even rain or storms! People have tried to change the order so destroying all as prodigal children! All for the power they can gain over others so destroying even themselves and their children! When you are all harmed or suffer you all cry for the order but then otherwise deny it so you all remain as stuck in a bottomless! Symbolic for making the same mistakes over and over the only way out of the pit is wisdom to the order set for all creation by the father of all creation!
  • JLeigh - In Reply on Malachi 3:10 - 5 years ago
Like faith is simply a name put to something more than just belief it is only the beginning and made whole when you know! Do not stay in belief as the sheep know it and teach it become the shepherd pastor the people!

You can know though the right judgement of all things to the order set for all creation by the father of all creation! Also known as the order of the father!
  • JLeigh - In Reply on Malachi 3:10 - 5 years ago
Prayer is simply a name put to something more than as a tool for teaching and learning like talking or thinking to yourself or out loud when you talk to self or others you are also talking to God you just name it as the spirit of God's wisdom that is coming from your mouth and your head
  • Teboho - In Reply on Malachi 3:10 - 5 years ago
Thank Adam for that, it makes sense.
  • Adam - In Reply on Malachi 3:10 - 5 years ago
    Hi Teboho,

I believe praying should be genuine and come from the heart. I think it should not be selfish or materialistic. I think ones motives should be pure in the prayer request, because we are not supposed to follow the world or its riches, but follow Jesus and seek our treasures in heaven, not on Earth. Matthew 6:19-20. God says we can ask for anything through faith- it should be through love too. 1 Corinthians 13:2, Matthew 21:21-22.

Given that info, I think it's ok to privately pray to be able to pay your debts and bills and for job increases and to tithe to help others. I would be careful praying for material possessions, however, because where is the heart? What is the motive? Is the goal to built treasures on Earth or in heaven?

Hope that perspective is helpful. God bless you!
