The Bible does not teach eternal conscious torment. The consistent testimony of scripture is that "the wages of sin is death," and not eternal life. Romans 6:23; Genesis 2:17; Ezekiel 18:30-32; 1 John 5:12. It was the devil who first taught that one could sin and still have eternal life. Genesis 3:4. Jesus came to save us from perishing, and to give us eternal life, not to save us from living forever. John 3:16.

Hellfire is something that takes place at the end of this world, and not at death. John 5:28,29; Matthew 13:40. In it, soul and body are completely destroyed. Matthew 10:28; 2 Thess 1:9. It will consume the wicked into ashes. Revelation 20:9; Malachi 4:1-3; Psalm 37:20. Even the devil will be consumed to ashes. Ezekiel 28:18,19; Isaiah 47:14.

In the new earth, when all sin has been eradicated, there will be no more suffering or pain or death. Revelation 21:4.

We see this is after the thousand years when Satan is released from the bottomless pit and goes out to deceive the nations. The army is as the sands of the sea and they surround the camp of the saints and Jerusalem. I feel the whole earth will be consumed, as we read in ( Malachi 4:1-3).

We see in verse 10 Satan is cast into the lake of fire where the beast and false prophet are and then in verse 11 God sitting on the great white throne and heaven and earth fled away from His face. Then He makes all new.

In the flesh I have nothing good to offer my Lord. But the Scriptures show, guide, and remind me my shorts comings in order for me to be "right" before God.

I can under stand David's reluctance to correct Absalom for his actions. Maybe David believes that time will heal everything. Provers 29:15. Not realizing that in- action does not solve anything and makes it more difficult to correct future situations.

We are not allowed to invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ or quote Scripture in the public arena. Copies of the Ten Commandments can not be displayed in Public areas. Nativity scenes have been banned in many public areas.

In times past, our halls of justice and legislature echoed the Words of wisdom of our God in prayer in speeches, and discussions.

However, our God promises a return of His glory, and healing if we call on Him, 2 Chronicles 7:14, 15. Malachi 4:2; Matthew 9:35

Let us go forward as an Army of the Lord, in loving kindness reaching to all who are in need. 1 Corinthians 13 : 1-7.

I can guarantee you that both Enoch and Elijah saw death in their day. If you are not taking into account that the writers are romanticizing their stories, you are being gullible. That's like thinking the sun stood still when that is scientifically impossible. Stop thinking Biblical figures can defy all laws of nature. These prophets slept with their fathers, like David. Discernment is key to keeping fantasy doctrine at bay.

Enoch & Elijah are not the 2 witness, think bigger. Just because anti-christ causes the waters to turn to blood, and the rain is withheld, doesn't mean its the work of Enoch & Elijah. Elijah is called to duty BEFORE the day of the Lord ( Malachi 4:5). The 2 witnesses are the ones in Revelation 7.

Brother Norman, God's word states that Enoch did "not see death" ( Heb. 11:5) and that Melchisedec did not have an "end of life" ( Heb. 7:3); therefore, contrary to your statement, neither man died. Also, it is overwhelmingly agreed upon by an endless list of Protestant and Jewish commentators (i.e. Matthew Henry, Jewish Virtual Library, etc.) that 2 Kings 2:11 refers to Elijah being taken bodily into heaven.

Christ plainly stated and confirmed a second time that John the Baptist was Elijah, and that he was the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5 ( Matt. 11:11-14; 17:10-13). Christ made clear, straightforward statements which must be accepted as truth. Also, the phrase "in the order of" is only applicable to priests ( Ps. 110:4), not prophets.

The manner in which you twist scripture is astounding. Complicating the simple. I can follow what you are saying because it is not written that way.

Therefore, using the Bible to define itself is the best approach to purity.

Elijah's coming, in His day Jesus saw John was Elijah in spirit, and Malachi claims Elijah's spirit returns prior to the 6th trumpet (Babylon's fall) to preach the word before kings and tongues, ( Daniel 10:11). Both are correct.

John was "in the order" of Elijah. John had the spiritual likeness of Elijah, just like Malachi 4:5 will posses.

Centuries before, Melchizedek was in the order of Christ.

No matter how a prophets' death is romanticized, or fictionalized, they die mortal deaths; Enoch and Elijah too.

The witnesses are special enough to be the subject of 5 Chapters, and that they're hidden from you until I come along. Just prior to the 6th trumpet ( Revelation 7:1-3), the elect 144,000 are sealed for 3.5 years (42 months) against death. At the end of their testimony, these elect will lay dead in the street for 3.5 days, then taken up in the clouds at the seventh trumpet, second coming of Jesus Christ. Since antichrist is revealed at the start of the sixth trumpet, ( 2 Thessalonians 2:3) the day of the Lord, his 3.5 years expire at the start of the seventh trumpet. The elect die 3.5 days before the seventh trumpet resurrection, while antichrist's time hasn't come yet. This leaves a 3.5 day gap between the tribes being sealed, and the sixth trumpet. For prophesy to be fulfilled, the 144,000 must receive a full 1,260 days of sealed protection.

The tribes are sealed 3.5 days prior to the sixth trumpet, day of the Lord. What will they do in that 3.5 day day window?

I'm not sure what a witness brother is but I would have to agree with him. I believe John the Baptist was the final prophet. John was the greatest of all the prophets.

Matthew Chapter 11 seems to indicate that the Old Testament administration or dispensation of the prophets is going to end with John. And a new administration, or a new dispensation, is going to start with Christ.

Jesus said that John the Baptist was Elijah who was to come. That is what Jesus said. He is making reference to Malachi 4:5 that tells us that Elijah will come before Messiah comes, and Elijah will be the forerunner to the Messiah.

But we have a problem!

In John Chapter 1, when the leadership sent people out to ask John, "Are you the Messiah?" John said, "No!" "Are you the prophet?" which by the way is also a term for the Messiah. Again John said no. "Are you Elijah?" He said no again.

Hmm, he is John the Baptist, but he is not Elijah? But Jesus said this is Elijah who was to come. So either John didn't know who he was, or he was confused, or something.

Even in Matthew Chapter 17 in the Transfiguration, when they came down off the hill, the disciples understood what Jesus said about John the Baptist, that John the Baptist was Elijah. But John said he isn't.

The answer is found in Luke 1:17 when the angel came to announce to Zacharias that his wife Elizabeth was going to give birth, which would be John the Baptist. And he said that he will come in the "spirit and power" of Elijah. He is going to have the same ministry as Elijah. He's not going to be Elijah personally, but he has the same ministry as Elijah.

You say you believe in modern-day prophets. If may ask you, what would you say their purpose would be?

Not being proficient with the DSS, I have been able to find that in the DSS (in Scroll 4Q76, Minor Prophets), the word "sun" is NOT in capitals. I'm guessing that the translators capitalized the word as it referred primarily to God (as in Psalm 84:11; Isaiah 60:19,20). And by extension, 'Sun' could be applied to Jesus, ( Luke 1:76-79; John 8:12).

Maybe others with more information on this will contribute.
