In verse 23: This shows the power of faith and the importance of faith. When we pray we want to have faith in Jehovah God that he wants to, he can, and he will answer our prayers that are in harmony with his will.

    Lawrence,

We are free to pray wherever we choose to, whether it's in public or not. But our motive behind praying in public should not be for people to see us, or as the Bible says, to be seen of men. If that is our motive for prayer, then we should not pray at that time. Plus, as Mishael says, there are places that's best not to be seen. School is a great example. It didn't use to be that way. In places like that, where society says I can't pray, I pray silently in my mind. I do that a lot. I can pray standing in line at a grocery store without anyone even knowing that I'm praying. They can't stop that.

There is no law against praying over your food. Just don't do it in a school
  • Lawrence Taylor on Mark 11 - 4 years ago
    Matthew chapter 6

In Mathews chapter 6, when it speaks of praying in public, that doesn't mean that we should not pray openly, does it?

Mark 11:25-26 And when you stand praying, FORGIVE, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive YOU your trespasses.

BUT if you DO NOT FORGIVE, neither will your Father which is in heaven, FORGIVE your trespasses.

That's why I like that movie the Shack. The guy figured out that God wanted him to forgive his daughters murderer. God says it's about you taking your hands off his neck (so to speak). The guy asks how many and "God" says 7x70, 500.

    Forgiveness is remarkably cleansing!!

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing"; and I will receive you." we are sanctified by His blood we are forgiven. Being one with the Father, forgiving one another for sins. Jesus says believe in God, asking the Father for those things you desire even unto the moving of mountains. Christs authority is all we need in the hour of temptation! Overcoming sin avoiding temporal and eternal separation from the holiness of God. Be ye holy for I am holy. The power and authority that is in Jesus Christ. Christ reminds us our baptism, you are consecrated unto god,you have been bought with a price! Mark 11

Remarkable that like the church today, Christ entering Jerusalem, with all the multitudes finds the temple empty. So our Lord created his own temple , a temple made without hands, in the heavens, found in you and me. This new temple is the everlasting kingdom of god! Hosanna in the highest. The gospel of Christ, that we through faith can receive the forgiveness of sin. That Jesus will find fruit in those who trust Him , who believe in God! His kingdom shall have no end., as he says I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.We enter freely into His temple not paying for the privilege, Freely He gives, Freely we receive! Only one mediator between God and man! The man Christ Jesus.

Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

We desperately need Jehovah God's forgiveness for the sins that we commit each day. We should and must forgive others if we expect for God to forgive us.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. ( Jesus knew the devastating effect on our life if we will not forgiving those who trespass against us.

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Great Words of Jesus to us!

verse 26 above: But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. (Wow! Wow! Wow! this is straight to the point / heart).

  • Paul Schenck on Mark 11 - 6 years ago
The Lord came into Peace (Jerusalem) and saw all that was, retired to Bethany home to Simon Mary and Lazareth, returning hungy, curses a fig, cleanses a temple and declares to the 12 Faith and forgiveness the avenue of answered prayer. And the proper response to a challenge to authority is to ascertain orientation of faith before an answer is offered.
  • Paula Kingsbury on Mark 11 - 6 years ago
This is key to God's answer to prayer. You must believe, without any doubt, that your selfless prayer will be answered. It is easy to say you have no doubt, unless you truly examine your thoughts.

Jesus knew that the chief priests WOULD not tell him, not that they COULD not. When Jesus asks you to do something do you say you CANNOT? The true answer is that you WILL NOT. Selah
  • Servant of God on Mark 11 - 6 years ago
If one doubts then the fig tree does not transplant in the ocean. Doubt is the opposite of faith. Faith is the certainty that God is in His house and He is a rewarded to those who love Him and hear his messengers! Likewise He wields his sword not in vain to those who doubt and do wickedness in this world, where all are tested to see if they are worthy of God's blessings, his kindness and mercy

"..Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring; and if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither." I like how with what ease Jesus knows all things, and that with the same ease He speaks and it comes to pass!
  • JOSEPH KABA on Mark 11 - 7 years ago
Mark 11:22 and Jesus said have faith in God.
No matter how difficult you are in at moment have faith in God you can have your heart desire. Those negative things will turn to positive. Like Mark 11:24 pray and believe it and it shall come pass
  • Michael Compton on Mark 11 - 7 years ago
I think Mark chose to tell of Gods Love for us in an easy understanding like forgiving if we do not forgive we can't expect God to forgive us
  • BSP on Mark 11 - 7 years ago

Mark 11:23 "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." The reason for the Lord saying this is for our faith in Him to be genuine; not because He scrutinizes, but proves us by Truth.

(22-26) All my zeal and determined perseverance cannot manufacture a form or method with which to make God do for me. If we see certain prayers seemingly not heard over a long time; we have to examine ourselves by this that the Lord told us; "Believe that you receive, and you shall have," and to really know confidently the Lord's love and ability with that "whatsoever" we may have to ask Him for.
  • Brianna vs. 25 on Mark 11 - 7 years ago
Perhaps you have wondered why we must forgive others. We may be unaware, but we all offend God someway somehow every day of our lives. The Bible says to treat others the way we want to be treated. Therefore, if we can forgive others then God has a basis to forgive us, and thus applying the Ransom sacrifice of Jesus to us.

Sickness, finances, relationships, etc., are subject to change thru our imagination. Jesus said, All things are possible to him that believes. i.e. NOTHING shall be restrained or impossible to him that believes. Mark 11:24, What things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them...or when you pray, "imagine that you've got it" and you shall have it.
