Mark 11 was I can safely say the first Chapter in the Bible where I got tremendous inspiration by the Holy Spirit and got immense insight into spiritual interpretation of the Word of God The Word of God is not merely as we read it it is beyond that we always need inspiration by the Holy Ghost to really get insight of the Word of God This morning the Holy Ghost was telling me about how the Word of God can be referred to as a house seen from one direction The way the person who has seen that house from that particular direction can only describe it as such any other additions would be imaginary and therefore a lie It goes also that he who sees the house from two sides would only have two ways of describing that house However the one who actually navigates all around the house including the inside and the roof would have a full view of the house We need to have a full view of the Word of God to fully comprehend IT I will post what the Holy Spirit revealed to me over this powerful Chapter in my next post Thanks and may the Lord Jesus Christ reveal His word to you ALL in Jesus name

This is interesting in that it shows, that Jesus would curse a fig tree that was out of season for growing figs, so that no one could ever eat figs from it again, and die. So he could show that you can do anything you desire if you believe? People continually say he voided out the ways of the old testament, but here he reaffirms it. Cursed a living thing, because it didn't bear fruit outside of when it was designed to grow.

I say that since I have read this verse and also of Mathew Chapter 21 vs 22 it has tremendously
increased my faith and my prayers will be answered by the Lord. I am sure.

Mark 11:23 is one of the most powerful scripture in the new testament it gives me so much faith and hope that no matter what comes my way I will come out on top.
  • I Love Jesus on Romans 8:1 - 11 years ago
It says here for all who are "in Jesus" ALL sins are washed away and forgiven. Even ones you might backslide to apparently. Why? because "NO Condemnation" is a VERY final term and to nth degree. It trumps all others easily. Amazing grace literally! Thank you JESUS! He came not to condemn but save to all who take his glorious God sent saving and loving hand ( John 6:37). It also adds later that whatever is not of FAITH is sin, and not to doubt.( Romans 14:22-23) Jesus also told us to have Faith in God. ( Mark 11:22) Note: Jesus did have his own set of commandments. One of many being to love one another like he has loved us.

This is the law of attraction! What ever you believe truly, can smell it, taste it, KNOW it with your whole being that it is so, it is SO..

it helps me to keep my head up high and always know that Gods word is yes and Amen.
  • Maureen on Mark 11 - 11 years ago
I love Mark 11:24-26 teaches a lot about ourselves as Christians and followers of Christ teachings. If we don’t do what He asked us to do, then we are not to be called true believers; and I say “AMEN” to the verses.
  • Jackie on Mark 11 - 11 years ago
I love Mark 11:22-26 because I take it at exactly Jesus words. He is telling us that we can have and do whatever we desire if we have faith and do not doubt our father. Jesus was telling us to believe. Jesus was saying we too could command the fig tree to die and if we had faith then the tree would shrivel for us too. Why make it anything less than his word.
  • Debbie on Mark 11:24 - 11 years ago
I so much like this section.
  • Jay on Mark 11 - 12 years ago
On verse 24, as a reminder that much of what is being read in the gospels before the cross is prophetic doctrine for the Jews to happen after the rapture of the body of Christ (the church). All can be used for spiritual application in this age of grace (church age). We must compare scripture with scripture to achieve absolute truth ( John 5:39; I Corinthians 2:13). In verse 23 the mountain represents spiritual obstacle that will come your way to try and interfere with getting you off the course that the lord has placed you on. But with the faith of ( Ephesians 3) and allowing Jesus to work through us by humbling ourselves before him and following the rule in James 4:1-3 and Isaiah 40:31, we will overcome any obstacles. And prayers will be answered according to needs and God's plan for our lives. Do not pray for a Rolls Royce when a Chevy will do!

    On verses 13 and 24:
    1. The fig tree represents the nation of Israel;
    2. Jesus saw it afar off like when people view religion, but when a person takes the time to investigate religion closely they begin to see it for what it is (false Christianity). The leaves represent religion that is drenched in the law and dressed in the unbiblical traditions of men ( Colossians 2:8). True spiritual fruit ( Matthew 7:16) comes from the grace of our lord Jesus Christ working through us, after being born again ( Galatians 5:22-26). Of course Jesus did what he always does to nations, denominations, and individuals that are trying to produce heavenly fruits through fleshly seeds, he places an ichabod curse on that unfruitful religious situation.
  • Cassandra Smith on Mark 11 - 12 years ago
Wow! Susan! How magnificently you paraphrased Mark, Chapter 11 (Jesus' hunger and the fig tree)! The way you illustrated Israel not receiving Jesus, (the Tree of Life) and having only an outer appearance of their beliefs in the 'Laws of Moses', rather than an inner Holy Spirit of recognizing the Living Messiah that dwelt humanly among them!!!! That analogy was so profound and really made me think! The Holy Spirit touched you and really poured an anointed 'discernment' into you! Thanks for sharing! I will never view that chapter and passage of verses the same again! May we all 'bear fruit(s)' and not merely have 'leaves'! To God and His Son, Jesus Christ be ALL the glory!
  • Kerry D Kinzer on Mark 11:13 - 12 years ago
I tend to believe The Lord saw that this tree was not going to bear fruit that would be pleasing to the Kingdom, thus he cursed it.
  • Elizabeth Lee Qiao on Mark 11:13 - 12 years ago
( Mark 11:13,14) Jesus was described as HUNGRY GOD
He was not known about the time of fruit on the Fig tree

When he did not find the fruit he curse the tree to death
Why is Jesus so unlawful when the tree is obeying the commandment of the Father

Please explain or cont me on elizabethlee.qiao at gmail

To GOD be the glory and blessings to my sisters and brothers in christ..I love this chapter and the humbleness of the disciples as well as there obedience as well as the honor they have for JESUS..the words of JESUS truly blessed my soul..and the word I receive from this chapter is that JESUS demonstrated how we have the power through by HIS name and with faith that we shall not parish and what we have been granted favor from GOD the most to ask for healing, deliverance, prosperity, love, understanding, abundantly in life's journey as long as these things are to glorify GOD and to and to magnify HIS name...and to take a stand for righteousness and to boldly walk in the ways of GOD righteous and true and to be steadfast and unmovedable no matter what and who u are up against in life and to keep your confidence in GOD at all times...walk by faith and not by sight...be blessed and know that gOD loves u

It's wonderful. I pray that my wife that has left me will return and we will save our marriage.
I really love her and I know she loves me too. I ask the Lord to change her mind and let our love grow. I believe it will happen. It has been 83 days since I have seen or talked to her. The Lord has his work cutout for him, but I know he will change her mind and save our marriage.

I think that it is a great promise of God & that he DOES give everything we ask for and believe that it is already answered. I have prayed intensely today for my own intention today and I KNOW that God is giving it to me right now, I feel it and I thank God for it. I now need the patience to wait as it is His timing, not ours.
  • Sarah Basemera on Mark 11 - 12 years ago
Thanks for the responses they have really broadened on my knowledge. And to Ben Weaver, you mentioned something new to me that its likely Jesus was refering to himself when he talked of ". . .this mountain. . .". It could be true, it is likely He was refering to Himself just as He mentioned of destroying and rebuilding the temple in 3days.

"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet." ( Mark 11:13)

Do you ever come to a tree expecting fruit and find only leaves?

Jesus came to such a tree.

When Jesus came, Israel should have recognized Him as God, and received Him as God. As a whole, the nation Israel did not receive Him as the Son of God. "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not." ( John 1:11)

Israel, and all who received Him not, had only leaves, when they should have had fruit.

It was their time, it was their season; they should have been ready, they should have had fruit; they were not ready, they had only leaves.

But there is hope, Israel will bear fruit in the future.

Sometimes we come to a tree that should be bearing fruit, and it is not. Maybe sometime in the future it will bear fruit, just not at this time when you stand before it.

Jesus expected fruit, and did not find it.

There is a tree we can always find bearing fruit. At all times, in all seasons, this tree is never barren. It bears all manner of fruits, not just one kind. The fruit of this tree satisfies all hunger, and affords all healing.

We can come and sit under the shade of this tree and eat freely.

    This tree is Jesus.

"O taste and see that the LORD is good."

Whosever will, let him eat of this tree freely.

Jesus displayed his Lordship and superiority over his opposers by not giving in to their dictates. He defeated them by the wisdom of God: They could not answer his question, he did not answer their question. He disappointed their devices.
  • Bob & Anita Beall on 2 Chronicles 7 - 13 years ago
Our land was healed when Christ had died on the cross. When Jesus died he said that is finished. Now we are under Grace. Because he fulfilled the law of the old testiment.
Jesus did not do away with the old law but came to fulfill it.
After you accept Jesus as your Savior you are a joint heir with Jesus.
Because we are under Grace we can pray for our country by Faith (that Jesus imparted to us " Gal 3:22--The Faith of Jesus is given to them that believe")believing our prayer is already answered when we pray,--" Mark 11:24"--
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, WHEN ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
  • Jael on Mark 11 - 13 years ago
The fig tree incident seems prima facie out of character: like Jesus might be saying Huh! I needed figs, you didn't give me any so stuff you! If we reverse the perspective tho the real loss is people in the vicinity who might have need of figs. What had they done to deserve this deprivation? Alternatively what had they not done ? Even the forgiveness of God ultimately is finite
