Verse 21, Antichrist means against Christ and that is the Son of man. Woe to the man that is betrayed by the Antichrist. The Son of man is doing the betraying, both to Judas, by turning him against Jesus because of money, and Jesus himself. Both Judas and Jesus die because of the Son of man.

Prayer is a High privilege we have from God to approach His throne of Grace : We , I will always have to deal with the flesh : It will never conform to the will of God but only brought into subjection through power of Holy Spirit : I must learn always to discipline the flesh in all areas of my life , not only in just one area , although one area at a time : It seems that I quite often have to tell my flesh : NO ! My spirit is always ready to obey God but my flesh is weak and so therefore I control my flesh with help of Holy Spirit ,bringing it into subjection.

Jesus came for the Sinners and not for the rightheous people. Jesus has to fullfill the Scriptures as this is what our Holy Father commanded the Son of the Living God. Jesus is the perfect obedience to the Father therefore we must obey his words and believe Jesus that he is the Son of the Living God who came in flesh and we are saved by his blood that shed for us. Give thanks and praise Jesus Amen

that is the reason why feminist theologians have raised a concern about the Bible also, saying it is patriarchal through and through. Nothing has been said about this woman and I have never heard anyone preaching about as Jesus said. But with God 's help I am going to teach or preach on this on the Holy Week that is on Wednesday

How Great is our Lord Jesus Christ, He Sacrifice Himself for us, No man no Prophet can ever do that. The Sad thing is that many of us still did not believe in him, did not do what he says. Where in truth all he said is for OWN benefits. but still we neglect HIM. It is high time for us now to RENEW our mind, Set our mind in line with the word of GOD. GOD Bless..
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
This gospel being preached in Acts 2 is that of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the same gospel that John the Baptist preached. Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. The kingdom was still being offered to the Jews because of Jesus ' prayer to THE FATHER, a member of the Godhead Rom 1:20, Col 2:9, Acts 17:29, in Lk 23.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Acts 7 Jesus is standing at the right hand of the FATHER. I don 't see how you don 't see the Godhead in the Scripture. Jesus is standing because He was ready to come back if they would have received his message as a nation. That 's what He said would happen. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. They rejected the message and God went to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul. The Gospel for today is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4 and no water baptism or tongues are mentioned. Acts 2:38 is cursed for today Gal 1:8-9. Why? It 's not for us today.
  • Jacob on Acts 7 - 10 years ago
In early Acts the gospel of the Kingdom is being preached just like John the baptist preached Matt 3:2 because it was at hand. It was wihtin reach. If they would have received it Matt 11:14 John the Baptist would have been Elijah and the Lord would have set up His literal physical visible Kingdom but they rejected Him. Matt 12 records the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost vs 31 and He begins to speak in parables in Ch 13. They crucify Him and He prays from the cross that they will be forgiven in Lk 23:34. Then they are getting a second chance to receive their King in early Acts see ch 2. The house of Israel is being spoken to see vs 36,22, 14,5, which are Jews. The gospel is to the Jew first. The nation as a whole rejects Him again and Stephen preaches this sermon and if the nation as a whole would have received the message Jesus would have come back then. That 's why He was STANDING. Compare vs 55 with Mark 14:62 and 16:19. The church age wasn 't revealed until Paul got saved and all the prophecies could have still came to pass without any contradictions. But since they rejected Him the Gentiles were grafted in, Thank the Lord.

Part 1 Marvin the word of God works in those who believe it 1Thess 2:13. God bless you brother. Chatauna I hope you see that you are leading others astray by teaching a false gospel. Those is Acts 2 asked what must WE do in verse 37 in light of the fact that they crucified their Messiah verse 36. The kingdom was being offered until Acts 7 when Stephen was stoned. Thats why Jesus was STANDING in verse 55 which is what Jesus said would happen in Mark 14:62. They rejected Him so that is why he is SEATED Heb 1:3 until HE comes back to catch away His bride 1 Thess 4:16-18 before the Great Tribulation of Rev 6-19. If you believe Acts 2 if for us today then sell all your possessions vs 44 and 4:32.

  • Pray-er in Canada on Mark 14:38 - 10 years ago
Concur with Joseph Kirianki comment. Also since prayer is talking to and with the Lord, it keeps our eyes, heart, and mind focused on Him and His purpose for our life. Since we can only look at one thing at a time, it prevents our eyes finding temptations to detract us, like blinders on a horse.
  • Olabode on Mark 14:38 - 10 years ago
Prayer is a master key to overcome temptation. Jesus fasted and prayed, when the temptation came, he overcame.
  • MockingBird on Mark 14:38 - 10 years ago
Unless I pray I will fall into temptation and or a snare I must also be willing to resist that temptation !! A temptation is something that I we really really want to do.it is not a sin to be tempted it is sin when I yield to the temptation and go with it. There is power in prayer. God will go with me all the way.
  • Dharam on Mark 14:38 - 10 years ago
We cannot overcome temptation in the realm of the flesh but in the realm of the spirit. Prayer strengthens us an helps position us better to deal with the struggles of life scripturally.
  • Olabode on Mark 14:38 - 10 years ago
Series of prayers help to overcome temptation. For somebody to succeed in this sinful world, there would be temptation, but prayer helps to overcome. For somebody to pray and pray through, flesh must be put into the control of the Holy spirit that is, it must be disciplined. Just like Apostle Paul.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Mark 14:36 - 10 years ago
Jesus cries out Abba, Father, which is Aramaic for Daddy and prays if it is possible, let this cup pass from me nevertheless, not as I wilt but thy will be done. Jesus submitted to do the will of God, just as we as children are to submit to our Daddy to obey them in the Lord for this is right. We understand that He is one with the Father, and He came down from heaven to do the Father 's will as a Lamb slain before the foundations of the world. Praise God that He did, and we can be called the children of God by believing in Him.

Why the right ear? What is the significance? Is there something more hidden here, that God is revealing? Something about servants of the old order, old covenant, not hearing, losing their ears to hear. That was Jesus ' most common phrase as He told parables. He did heal the servant of the high priests ear. Did they become servants of man and not of God, missing it? Obviously they missed the Christ because they could see, hear, or understand with their hearts. And what about the doorman in the old testament who would get his ear peirced to the door, symobolizing ownership? There 's got to be more here

  • Duane on Mark 14:30 - 11 years ago
I noticed that some translations leave out the words "Today," or "this day" and just say "this very night." Also, some translate it to mean that Jesus is saying "I say to you this day, that in this very night..."

I am asknig this because some use this verse to try to prove that the night is part of the Biblical day and that the 24 hour "day" begins in the evening. I do not believe that is true.
