    @Harry Tuttle...no where is this scripture of any scripture will you find abortion. The Word is simply saying it would have been better for Judas had he never been born because he betrayed God!
    John 13:2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
  • Harry Tuttle on Mark 14 - 11 years ago
    Mark 14:21 - Am I the only one who questions whether this Chapter says that it would have been better that Judas were aborted than to betray Jesus? It specifically say born and not conceived. To say that it would have been better never to have been conceived means that the soul never existed. To never have been born is open to debate. Conception and abortion are not new concepts. For a long time, mankind has known that the dirty deed leads to children and, for a long time, mankind has also known how to abort a fetus. I'm not a rabble-rouser; I really want to know. Thanks

    @Ock

    These were all meant by Our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 26:27-28 and Mark 14:22-24 based on the meaning of the BREAD and BLOOD in John 6:35:
    "TAKE" this "COMING TO ME AND YOU SHALL NEVER HUNGER"... "DRINK" this "BELIEVING ON ME AND YOU SHALL NEVER THIRST"... now, the breaking of bread and the drinking in a cup in Luke 22:19-20 are for "REMEMBRANCE" of those He said.

    SINCE: ALL THOSE who "HEARD" (the teaching of the GOSPEL) and were "BAPTIZED" (in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost) in "ALL NATIONS" are now "SCATTERED" all over the world, THEREFORE: the only way to determine IF THE SPIRIT of the PASTOR or TEACHER or MINISTER is OF GOD, He MUST be among those who "OBSERVE all things WHATSOEVER" that Jesus Commanded. IF HE PREACH AND BAPTIZE the SAME way as, THEN: HE IS AMONG THE "SENT" to "PREACH" the "GOSPEL of the KINGDOM of HEAVEN".......OTHERWISE: ANOTHER SPIRIT HAS SENT HIM TO PREACH ANOTHER KINGDOM as it is written in 1- John 4:1, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world".
  • Ock on John 6 - 11 years ago
    @Rosalina

    I assume you are referring to the Last Supper ? Lets read what those present had to say about what Jesus said at the Last Supper.....

    Matthew 26:27-28 He said, "All of you drink of this; FOR THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW COVENANT, WHICH IS BEING SHED FOR MANY UNTO THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS."
    Mark 14:22-24, "Take; THIS IS MY BODY", and "THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW COVENANT, WHICH IS BEING SHED FOR MANY."
    Luke 22:19-20, "THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH IS BEING GIVEN FOR YOU; DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME", and "THIS CUP IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD, WHICH SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU."
    I agree with you Rosalina that the bread and wine are symbolic for you in that, your church and minister have no Apostalic Authority (alredy discussed )and cannot perform Consecration. So yes, for you it would only be a symbol.

    verse 38. I believe that God was literally in Christ. ( 2Corinthians 5:19). When Jesus told the disciples that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, I believe he was saying that the spirit of God in him was strong in going to the cross, but the flesh or the man(Son) was weak.

  • Jacques Haddad on Mark 14:51 - 11 years ago
    In Mark 14:51, the young man was John Marc (Mary Marcus' son, St. Mark the Evangelist himself). The proof is that he is the only one to mention this incident without revealing his name. It is a writer's custom, like in John's Gospel, he wrote the beloved disciple about himself (the other disciple). Also in Luke, he did not mention that he, himself was with Cleophas and Jesus walking on the road to Emmaus.

    @André,
    On verse 10 :
    1. This verse gives some real insight on the plan of salvation that God has set up through his son Jesus Christ;
    2. The wine is new wine which represents the blood of the New Testament from the law to grace (Mathew 26:28,29; Mark 14:24,25), the wine is grape juice ( Genesis 40:11) or non alcoholic new wine or you have to remove 1 Peter 5:8 from the scriptures;
    3. At gatherings of importance the best wines are served first and as time goes on and people taste buds become less reliable, then the host breaks out the not as good wine;
    4. God always serves the good stuff for last just like salvation, the salvation we have here on earth is good, but the when we get to heaven, it's the best for last;
    5. The first shall be last and the last shall be first.

    @ paul's comment about the apostle john- 1. the book of john portrays jesus as the son of god( john 1:34)or god manifested in the flesh( john 1:1,14). 2. john was one of the 3 inner circle with christ during his earthly ministry along with james and peter( mark 14:33) 3. john is special to born again christians because he is in typology a picture of the new testament church. 4. this is why john is found with his head on the bosom of the saviour and referred to by jesus always as the beloved( john 21:20-25). 5. other than the pauline epistles john gives the best scriptures on new testament salvation and eternal security of the believer.

    61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Jesus is declaring that he is the Son of God. He then predicts what will happen to the Jews. He tells the Jewish high priest that the Jews will see the Son of man (evil) sitting at the right hand of Power (not at the right hand of God where Jesus sits). Jews will see powerful evil men in the clouds (jet fighter planes) that will come to destroy them. They have Power because they take over the world during WW3.
  • Insight 777 on Mark 14 - 12 years ago
    Verse 21, The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Good were it for that man if he had never been born. Jesus is the Son of God. The Son of man is evil. Woe to the good man that evil (the Son of man) betrays. Christians will be betrayed by evil men in the end of days. These will be men that Christians have trusted. Verse 41, "it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners." This refers to Judas as the symbolic Son of man (evil). Judas betrayed his Christianity and became evil by joining with sinners. Jesus says "behold"...meaning look, here comes Judas the evil sinner and betrayer of Christianity.

    @Jacob,
    I would like to know if you have biblical scripture to verify your remarks about the sticker? Also there is biblical evidence that people that want to run around naked and cut on themselves are possessed with an unclean spirit(s), Mark 5:1-15. The man was found sitting (calm), clothed, and in his right mind after unclean spirit was come out.

    @Kini.toloa,
    On verse 70- fear is the first reason why most people lie, but I am not so sure that fear was the main motivating factor for Peter.
    1. Peter is the one who drew his sword and cut off the servant’s ear in Gethsemane ( John 18:10);
    2. Peter and the other apostles did not really understand Jesus as saviour, but was trying to assist Jesus in bringing in the kingdom of heaven where he will be king;
    3. They did not comprehend the kingdom of God (church age), 1 Peter 1:10-12;
    4. So when Jesus was arrested all the apostles abandoned him, except John (type of the church) and went back to fishing;
    5. The reason I believe Peter denied Jesus when approached, was shame and confusion on what was really happening, but Jesus was able to help get Peter back on track in John 21:15-17, Romans 1:16.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Mark 14 - 12 years ago
    Peter denied the Lord three times, because the Lord Jesus had told him before the cock shall crow twice you will deny me thrice. Jesus would restore Peter after He had risen. Jesus asked Peter three times do you love me? Peter responded yes Lord you know that I love you. After Jesus restores Peter, he tells him how he will glory God in his death. We too must answer the question of do we love Jesus more than these? As Jesus told his disciples to watch, and pray less they enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We all have failed the Lord just as Peter did, and the Lord has restored us too. When that day comes for us to lay our lives down for Jesus, we must say not my will, but thine be done. God gives us the same grace to live for him, that it takes to die for him. Paul said we are counted as sheep for the slaughter every day. We must first die to self, and then live for Jesus.
    To live is Christ, and to die is gain.

    The streeker was Mark (the writer of the gospel) and it symbolizes without God you are naked! You will have No Gospel armor! Keep in mind Mark was just a teen.
  • Bane on Mark 14 - 13 years ago
    Mark was the disciple of Peter, and he never saw Jesus with his own eyes also as Luke and John. This is not sure only for Matthew. Concerning the young man with the white garment, there are many hidden things in the Gospels and task of every generation is to try to discover something.
    I read something by the way about the special way of baptism that Jesus practiced and was continued till VIII century, and it had some connection with the white garment but my knowledge about this matter is so tin that I have no right to speak about it. If somebody knows some facts about this very interesting matter, I would like to read it. God bless you.
  • Rickywater on Mark 14 - 13 years ago
    Where is it written that the garment is "white"? In his Gospel, Mark wrote that on the night Jesus was arrested, a youth wearing only a garment “over his naked body” was present. When enemies grabbed Jesus, Mark wrote that the youth escaped. Who do you think that youth could have been?— Yes, it was probably Mark! So when Jesus and his apostles left late that night, Mark apparently threw on a garment and followed.— Mark 14:51, 52.In his Gospel, Mark wrote that on the night Jesus was arrested, a youth wearing only a garment “over his naked body” was present. When enemies grabbed Jesus, Mark wrote that the youth escaped. Who do you think that youth could have been? It was probably Mark. So when Jesus and his apostles left late that night, Mark apparently threw on a garment and followed. Mark 14:51, 52. Not every single line is of major significance in the Bible.
  • Reggie on Mark 14 - 13 years ago
    The young man fleeing naked, was a significant statement before the next main event of Jesus,being brought before Caiaphas and the elders and scribes, for their kangaroo court! Back in vs.50 all His disiples had already fled, with Peter dragging up in the rear, albeit denying him! Man apart from the gift of God, being infused and imparted with His righteousness which is not after the law but through faith in the Son of God, we are all cowards!! Pro.28 vs 1 says, " the wicked flee when no one pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion. This proverb was prohetic and fullfilled here in Mark 14. Jesus told Peter after you are converted strenghten the brethren. No one at this time had recieved conversion with the baptism in the Holy Ghost. All this happened after calvary, after Jesus desended into hades and assended into heaven presenting His blood before the mercy seat in heaven, returning to his disciples and teaching them for 40 days, then assending back to Father God from Mount of Olives,instructing them to wait for the promise of the Father " the baptism of the Holy Ghost"!! Check out the remaining scriptures about how the disciples and all followers of Jesus boldly lived and died in faith and courage. Heap big difference.
    So the young streaker, leaving his white linen garment, represents all of us who have tried to cover ourselves in a robe of self-righteousness. Being interested in Jesus, amazed at His teaching, His miracles, His fame, makes one want to be near the action. This is like whats happening!! Many are drawn by excitement, even Herod excitedly wanted to see a miracle. All that is a receipt for cowardice!! The wicked flee---- So his white linen garment speaks of self effort to cover up. Adam tried fig leaves. Works don't work!! Works without faith will have will have all who try it streaking naked. Rev.3;18 Jesus says," that you be clothed,that the shame of your nakedness does not appear. Standing in the robe of righteousness that Jesus gives us--2 things--
    1. No one is going to take it away from us. and--
    2. We ain't running!! Praise God! agape--reggie--

    Mark 16:23 The gave Him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but He received it not. that's what He said in Mark 14:25, Jesus was always be true to His word and does'nt change His plan, and He never changes.
  • Joe on Mark 14 - 14 years ago
    Mark 14:32-42 Don't be dismayed if your prayer will not grant you by God, because even Jesus experience in the same way. Our God is an allknowing God who knows what is best for us. What do you think if our Lord Jesus Christ died in a natural death????????????? Our God is an awesome God even Jesus who suffered died on the cross because of our sins.
  • Ernest on James 1 - 14 years ago
    derek,
    I was reminded by the Lord's Holy WORD as follows!

    DOERS OF THE SCRIPTURE ARE NEEDED BIGTIME!

    Come on now. You really need to read this carefully. SCRIPTURE IS PLAIN. SCRIPTURE IS THE ONLY WAY WE KNOW JESUS! MANY only go to church on sun-day because the catholics made them. They changed the calendar and PASSED IT DOWN AS MAN'S TRADITION. They DID NOT ADHERE TO SCRIPTURE, AND THEREBY FORGOT TO REMEMBER TO KEEP THE SABBATH DAY HOLY. THIS is not being said lightly. TRADITIONS CONTRADICT SCRIPTURE. WHEN THEY DO THEY MUST BE PUT DOWN IN FAVOR OF HOLY SCRIPTURE. IF not we don't have any faith in what the scripture says because FAITH COMETH BY HEARING AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD! Those that changed sabbath to sunday have abandoned the faith that cometh by hearing that comes by the word of God. Go ahead study to show thyself approved and don't trust any man. Let EVERY MAN be A LIAR BUT LET GOD BE TRUE! HE IS TRUE IN HIS WORD!

    Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

    Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

    Psalm 119:6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

    John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

    John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

    1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

    Now, some may quote 2 Corinthians 3:6 "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."

    But what is also TRUE THROUGH AND THROUGH IS THIS SCRIPTURE FROM JESUS HIMSELF THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS: " John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

    What "letter" of the law is being spoken of here? Is it the letter of the law that is indicated in the following scripture? 2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Is it the "letter" of the law that is being spoken of in this scripture? 2 Timothy 3:15-17 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

    ALL SCRIPTURE includes old an new testament. Circumcision of the male organ is the judaizing factor which is ABSOLUTELY NOT NECESSARY unless it involves the "CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART FROM AN EVIL HEART OF UNBELIEF."

    Jesus said to keep His commandments! One of them is to remember to keep the sabbath day holy as a sign of Him as we await and prepare for His coming. the catholic church changed the calendar to sunday, the first day of the week and the catholics will boast and brag quite boldly that they did because of their IMMENSE POWER. So much is their boldness that they berate protestants who SAY they believe the bible first and foremost for their not keeping the SCRIPTURAL SABBATH. Catholics despise what they call sola scriptura and if they see waffling or weakness or inadherence to the scriptures by those that SAY they adhere to scripture first and foremost, they take every opportunity to impugn their RESOLVE, because they SAY and DO NOT DO!

    JESUS IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS. The New Testament is NO REPLACWEMENT OF THE OLD. IT IS THE FULFILLMENT! Need proof! Here are some EXPLICIT references AS WRITTEN IN THE King James Bible, TRUE THROUGH AND THROUGH IN EVERY WORD!

    Matthew 1:22
    Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 2:15
    And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

    Matthew 2:17
    Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 2:23
    And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

    Matthew 4:14
    That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 8:17
    That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

    Matthew 12:17
    That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 13:14
    And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

    Matthew 13:35
    That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

    Matthew 21:4
    All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

    Matthew 24:34
    Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

    Matthew 26:54
    But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

    Matthew 26:56
    But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

    Matthew 27:9
    Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

    Matthew 27:35
    And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

    Mark 1:15
    And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    Mark 13:4
    Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

    Mark 14:49
    I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

    Mark 15:28
    And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

    Luke 1:20
    And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

    Luke 2:43
    And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

    Luke 4:21
    And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

    Luke 21:22
    For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

    Luke 21:24
    And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

    Put away yuor tradition and take up the tradition of GOD ACCORDING TO HIS WORD. HIS WORD IS PLAINLY TRUE. IF you can read it, you can rely on it, even if you do not fully understand it. Ask and YE shall receive will take care of that part. Any lesser standard of belief in HIS HOLY WORD, is accepting the traditions of men and those are the "LETTERS" that "KILL" and those are what JESUS DECRIED AND BERATED THE PHARISEES ABOUT.

    If you still insist the Sabbath, the token of JESUS CHRIST AND MESSIAH is not important or "JEWISH", since when have you as a believer in JESUS been CUT OUT OF THE OLIVE TREE'S ROOT AND FATNESS. You as a believer in JESUS ARE GRAFTED IN TO THE ROOT AND FATNESS THAT IS JESUS OUR KING. The Jews wre broken off for unbelief, and do you think you with unbelief will fare any better? Look it up. If it says "unto all your generations" or "perpetually" or "everlasting" etc. do we disregard that these words have EXTREMELY important meanings to ALL BELIEVERS? If you will keep the tradition of separation and GOD FORBID hatred of JEWS, YOU HAVE IGNORED the STORY OF RUTH AND THE WORDS OF THIS GENTILE MOABITESS HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN. LET THEM NEVER FALL FROM YOUR LIPS. "YOUR GOD SHALL BE MY GOD AND YOUR PEOPLE SHALL BE MY PEOPLE!"

    STOP WITH THE TRADITION ALREADY! DO IT ACCORDING TO THE PLAIN WORD OF GOD, HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND THEY ARE LIFE!!!!
