Once we accept Jesus Christ as our the bible states that we are new creatures in Christ Jesus. To show the world that we have had this experience and have become new, Been reborn, we are baptized by being immersed in water as He gave example. This symbolizes that the old man has passed away and behold all things have become new.
  • Pamela carboon on Mark 1 - 8 years ago
John came to the Jews to preach the baptism of water for the remission of sins but as John clearly states, Jesus is mightier than He and would come to baptize us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus after he fulfilled the law of baptism in water said repent and believe the gospel, He did not tell us to be baptized in water. water baptism was for the Jews back then.

to coupe 1942 ( my birth year) on Mark ch.1 -- Jesus baptism was for our example, to be baptized and by immersion - not 'pouring' or 'sprinkling', and to prove to those many, many people standing around that Jesus was the messiah, hence too the voice from heaven - which they all heard. No, Jesus had no sin.
  • John Lamendola on Mark 1 - 8 years ago
Jesus was without sin therefore he had nothing to repent of. He was Baptized to fulfill scripture. Baptizm is a type of burial where sins are remitted.
  • Coupe1942 on Mark 1 - 8 years ago
Baptism is generally done as one confesses their sins. Jesus was baptized by John. Can one assume that Jesus then confessed any sins? Not meaning anything non-religious in this question, but just following the logic of what the term baptize means and wondered.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 2 Thessalonians 2:2 Read whole chapter See verse in context That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Mark was Barnabas's nephew and Barnabas accept him while Paul rejected him, simply because He was not following them when they go for quest. Mark denied Christ, after feeling guilty for himself and asked for the second chance.

So i really want to have his Autobiography; His life time line . And i want to learn more about the Bible.

    Please Autobiography...

Jesus Christ perform a lot of miracles and there is a lot of controversy about. Who actually is Christ that all things obey him
  • Arthur chacon on Mark 1 - 9 years ago
We must obey the smallest of requests of the lord, if we dont obey the small things how can he trust use us with larger requests. I also think by the leper disobeying, it alerted the kng sooner and shortened his ministry on earth. You know if jesus convinced the priests heads of the church of the power of god, and that he was the messiah, the people would follow jesus
  • Geraldine cole on Mark 1 - 9 years ago
Yes Steve's to answer your question when the Lord Jesus tell u to do something u must do that now he told him to go show himself to the Priest and offer those hings which Moses had commanded for his cleaning for a testimony unto them that what he needed to do. O yes I am sure he wanted to run and tell everyone what God had done
  • Steve on Mark 1 - 9 years ago
Was it wrong sinful for the man with leprosy to proclaim what Jesus had done when he was asked to say nothing? or would you want to tell every one about Jesus?

It is not for us to quibble about marriage and the prospects of that subject. Our focus is to be on the Lord at all times. Those who seek our Lord can determine what is man made and what is Divine. Be not troubled by mans rule. Seek to know your Heavenly Father in all ways and you will know your path. People do not want to know the discipline of His Holy Word. This world would unravel all of it. Give thanks for your eternal soul. Glory be to Lord God Jehovah, Lord Jesus Christ The Indwelling Holy Spirit.
  • Dgt26 on Mark 1 - 10 years ago
The gospel He is referring to is the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven in Matthew and the Kingdom of God in Mark
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
This gospel being preached in Acts 2 is that of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the same gospel that John the Baptist preached. Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. The kingdom was still being offered to the Jews because of Jesus ' prayer to THE FATHER, a member of the Godhead Rom 1:20, Col 2:9, Acts 17:29, in Lk 23.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Acts 7 Jesus is standing at the right hand of the FATHER. I don 't see how you don 't see the Godhead in the Scripture. Jesus is standing because He was ready to come back if they would have received his message as a nation. That 's what He said would happen. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. They rejected the message and God went to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul. The Gospel for today is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4 and no water baptism or tongues are mentioned. Acts 2:38 is cursed for today Gal 1:8-9. Why? It 's not for us today.
