I agree, more people are coming to believe in GOD and of Jesus Christ and of the Holy Spirit, around the world. I don't know if my reply is right. but that is what I believe in my heart, and see. there is no other God but GOD who is in Heaven. Amen and our Lord Jesus Christ who payed with his blood in the Cross for our Sin. and The Holy Spirt. Amen

The modern world has not acquired that unlimited spirit of faith but here and there throughout the world we see a soul coming to maturity in faith. John G Lake.

J, if the pedophile and or rapist obeys the scripture and takes his yoke upon him and learns of him if they "harness" up with God, if they get saved, then the former pedophile and former rapist can find rest for their soul. The "rest" for the soul comes after the obedience.

Evangelist, I agree about the Sabbath day. I don't even remember the whole statement question I responded to but I think it had something to do with someone's claiming that Jesus contradicted himself by stating one could take a yoke on, which is may be heavy, and not be tired, and I was letting it be known that the soul can rest even if the body is tired, not referring to any particular day.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly - In Reply on Matthew 11 - 6 years ago
Thus fulfilling Isaiah 11:10. No more sabbath days Jesus is now our rest as we rest in his words. The sabbath day was a day for man to rest from their labour and sin, when you are resting your not sinning. Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

So a pedophile and a rapist soul rest with god????
  • Linda on Matthew 11 - 6 years ago
Jesus said: "Ye shall find rest unto your souls..." not your body the body can be weak and weary while the soul is at rest with God.

Sue, the Son of Man is our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew chapter 11:19.
  • Nathan Gough on Matthew 11 - 7 years ago
The "Son Of Man" is Jesus Christ himself. He is referring to himself, and then goes on to expound on what the people accused him of, just as they accused John the Baptist in the previous verse (18). Starting in vs. 20, Jesus begins to upbraid the cities because they repented not. Contrary to modern Church Doctrine, Jesus is not a "friend of publicans and sinners" as seen in these verses. Repent

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (work /job ,football, basket ball, education, vacation, night life /clubs, parties, social media, nascar racing, television, slothfulness /lazy, ..., ..., is USA idols we use instead of verse 28; "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".

Christians are reluctant to take a stand for the Gospel. Unlike people of religions! We have a Relationship with our God. When the Gospel is trodden down, the Violent, Christians Speaks out on behalf on God. We will not kill anyone who disagree with the God or His Holy Scriptures. We should not sit idly by and allow the enemies of God to deface or mocked the Scriptures. Stand up for Righteousness.

7:1- "Come thou" reminds me of the Precious Invitation Of Our LORD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST, Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light

Believe the revelation that God reveals to you by whatever and whomever he reveals it. Trust in Him and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge him in the revealing and receive the knowledge and the power in getting to know who and what he is to you. That's how you get your rest cause you learn of and how to use the power of the lord from the revealing to His Glory.

  • Navin kumar Erpulla on Matthew 11 - 7 years ago
It is contrasting statement by Jesus, when he says take my yoke and you will find rest in your soul, how can a man take a yoke and find rest, but i think what Jesus might have mean was, though my yoke is heavy but the burden is light and hence come unto me i will give you rest, Thats what we are missing these days we abstain Jesus from any involvement in our life, we must realize putting God first in our life, and hence he requires total surrender.

Gazz, The kingdom of Heaven refers to Christ's Kingdom on earth and how the prophets were beaten and slain. The violence is on earth not in Heaven. John the Baptist represents a change from prophesying about Christ to revealing Christ.

    or From Jesus ?
  • Ron on Matthew 11 - 7 years ago
So glad that in verse 5 that Christ said and the poor have the gospel preached to them. We do not have to have worldly riches for Christ to love and save us. Praise our Heavenly Father for saving my soul and set me on the good road that leads Home.

    Brothers and sisters in CHRIST,
GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATHEW 11 :25 TO 30 - read also the commentary of it by Mathew Hendry ( 1710)
    - study and understand it - surrender yourself to HIM AND FOLLOW HIM - enjoy the everlasting peace that surpasseth all understanding and the joy of serving him everlastingly.

Does Jesus care? Oh, yes, HE cares for me!
  • A disciple on Matthew 11 - 8 years ago
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." This life is hard, and can be so ugly and unfair: we have just in our own little existence toil and sorrow, sickness and death, and grief and remorse and very little happy times to fall back on in our memories. Jesus spent three quarters of His time healing the sick and seeking to relieve the poor of their suffering and miseries. Many selfish and well off, never in trouble, pretending Christians, pontificate about walking in faith and not by sight but have no idea where to start to really feel what its like. But Jesus knows all about us, and all about our troubles in life and He is there for us ALWAYS! But we have our part to call upon Him and really let Him be our Protector. "How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her chickens under the wing and you would not!"

Mathew 11: 11 is supported by Luke 7:28. It is clear that the covenant of God's kingdom was made a short time after John dies at last supper 33CE. Luke 22:19-30, No one who lives before this will attend heavenly kingdom, the Bible says that they will dwell on Earth with full of happiness under God's heavenly kingdom for which Jesus will be the King with other few chosen kings under him. Psl. 72:8.

Verse 28~Jesus was refreshing to others and we should imitate him.
  • A disciple on Matthew 11 - 8 years ago
Lou; we should never confess defeat when it comes to our salvation, and the things that the Scriptures PLAINLY tell us we have in Christ! Saved from our sins, complete deliverance and freedom and all provided for pertaining to life and piety! The enemy is a liar, and goes about seeking whom he may devour with his lies! Don't listen to him! Believe the Word!
