He warned not to listen to Pharisees, and Sadducees they spend their time teaching the word yet they no not who they speak of is standing in front of them. Peter was chosen to be the Rock of His Church when He was to leave them, Jesus did speak of satan sifting Peter. Peter told Him who he was and knew the word of God that His son was to die on the cross, how Jesus knew it was satan speaking. GB

He is referring to his second coming, those who haven't excepted him and turned from their fleshy life will not rise up, Never accuse the Lord of misspeaking he died without blemish for our sins. People think they serve God but do the I thing, not realizing all blessings flow from him and him alone. we die to ourselves and carry our cross for his sake, we feed the soul not the flesh. I don't know if anyone ever addressed the question of whether or not CHRIST misspoke when He said that no man had ever ascended into Heaven.... He did not! He meant of their own accord. Remember, Elijah was caught up taken up in a whirlwind. GOD did that! Enoch was translated by GOD. The Holy Scriptures say that Enoch walked with GOD. He did not ascend of His own accord as Our Saviour did.

I take it that Satan was trying to influence Peter to prevent Jesus from his mission. Which of course was to die for all and rise the 3rd day.

I honestly think that this lesson was a good one to discuss at church. When Peter says that God has forbid Jesus rising in 3 days is false obviously . But what I am not understanding is when Jesus said "Get thee behind me, Satan. If you can tell us people who didn't understand that verse, that will mean a lot.

Matthew 16:16 where the girl was possessed with a spirit of divination. I have a neighbor who I believe is possessed. She follows me around everywhere I go when she sees me and just swears and curses and smoke cigarettes, knowing that this annoys me. The Lord lead me to this scripture concerning her. She have been doing this for many days.

This is the only place in the bible the word Barjona is used. Which means son of Jona and dove. Many Simons in the bible but this Simon is Peter.

Verse 24~When we choose to become true followers of Chris we must disown ourselves and follow the example of Christ Jesus. We have to deny fleshly desires and cultivate godly desires.

Jesus wants us to stop sinning so he can bless us.

Simple question. Just ask yourself and answer it. Greed is poisonous. I would rather have Jesus. He is our spiritual wealth.

Peter clearly identified who Jesus was in verse 16 you are the the SON of the living God. Jesus wanted them to understand that because of all the rumors going around at that time much like our day.

"..Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" In other words, You have now been with me for some time; coming and going among the crowds in every place where I have taught and showed the Glad Tidings: What have you heard men saying about me? Is there then anything holding you with the world's way of thinking? Or have you understood something more, regardless of what other's think? Are you with me?

Verse 13~Jesus was interested in hearing the viewpoints of the crowds around him. He asked viewpoint questions in order to teach certain points. We can imitate this method of teaching.

Son of man speaks of His humanity, Son of God speaks of His divinity; both are True Names for Yeshua ha Moshiach, Jesus the Anointed.
