matthew 18:6 is Christs words about the preciousness of a children Seems those bishops and anyone involved in moving priests from parish to parish knowing they are molesting and sodomizing children have never read Christs words God will punish all those from the Pope down Not one heard the cry of one child I have lost faith in the catholic church

Jesus, gave his life for our debt. We are going to be in situations that we going to have to truly forgive, we're going to have to truly let go everything. Even the littlest things the littlest unforgiveness can keep us from making it to heaven. This chapter is telling us to Let It Go and live and what I mean by living living a save and Holy life for Christ. We have to think within ourselves!….

David, the point of the parable is to teach us that we should live with a heart of gratitude. We have been given grace which we did not earn but was given to us and with this heart of gratitude it would be easy to forgive because we understand our own failures and short comings. Forgiveness is a natural outpouring of the Holy Spirit flowing out of us.

David (cont.); We know that Jesus said, that none of them which the Father has given Him shall perish; and no one is able to pluck us from His hand. But Jesus also made it abundantly clear, that we must abide in Him or we would be cast away as a withered branch and gathered into bundles to be burnt. Only if we DO what He says, are we guaranteed not to fall when the storm of judgment pounds on us.

David; What the Law exposes in man is that ruin and deformity caused by the evil alienated nature we received from our parents, as well as our own sins. The Law teaches us what kind of men we are intended to be in God's view WHO CREATED US AND REDEEMED US. The revelation of grace and truth through Jesus Christ fulfills the demands of the character pleasing to God, out of which establishes the Law.

Concerning Matthew 18:35: "So your Heavenly Father will do to you if each of you, if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses".
Question: This seems to be explicitly clear that the sin of unforgiveness is a sin God will not forgive a believer for committing. How does this verse/concept reconcile to such verses as Romans 5: 2, 20
  • BSP on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
Verse 20: This principle applies to congregation meetings. Since Christ is in our midst during congregation meetings, we should be mindful of what we do and what we say.
  • BSP on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
Verse 22: This doesn't mean that we should literally keep a count and only forgive 77 times. We should be generous in forgiving as our Heavenly Father is generous in forgiving our sins.

Can you pay all that you owe to God? Because that is what He expects from you if you do not forgive your fellow believer! Verse 35.

As a toddler taking his first step, our Father (with His hands stretched out to catch us) is waiting for our first steps toward Him.
  • Jeff Berry on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
In Chapter 5 Jesus uses an extreme exaggeration (hyperbole) to warn believers of sin. Here in verses 7-10 (and again in Mark Chapter 9) He is warning nonbelievers who "despise" believers and would cause them to stumble.

    about forgiveness
  • Ike Obi on Matthew 18 - 6 years ago
This is a message about forgiveness, based on our fellowship with God and fellowship with others. Are there unforgiveness in my heart; are there areas of unforgiveness that I need to forgive? What do others see when they see me?

Read chapter 6:1-5 in Book of Galatians, 1Corinthians 5:1-13, Matthew 18:15-20. These deal with the sinning Christian and the unsaved. Lord says we are not to judge the unsaved but only the saved. We are to RESTORE a Christian back into the fold. We must be a mature, spiritual Christian not walking in sin ourselves. We all sin but as mature christians we should confess and forsake our sins also.

THIS CHAPTER AND BEING REVEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT MEANS THAT WE SHOULD BE HUMBLE IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THIS IS THE DUTY AND SHOULD BE THE DUTY OF EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN. FOR THE KEYS TO SUCCESS IS PERSERVERANCE AND HUMILITY. GOD BLESS AND I PRAY THAT EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE - THAT WOULD BE ON A UNIVERSAL BASIS MEANS WE SHOULD STRIVE TO BE MORE LIKE JESUS EACH DAY.

" Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Child-like does not mean being infantile in your behavior: it's not thinking and acting like a child, when we are grown up men! But it is love out of the innocence and purity of a good conscience, faith without hypocrisy, and the hope! "Acting like a child" is different.
