17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

I do not ever want to hear those words from Jesus: I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:23. I know I am Born Again and covered by the atoning Blood of my Savior Jesus, but my mind has been under attack with really bad thoughts about Father God and Jesus burdening me daily. When these thoughts happen doubt and fear creep in and it is wearing me out. Pray for me

I learn so much from these commentaries, I thank the lord daily and daily ask for forgiveness and to live a better life for Christ, Because we all will come under scrutiny and if found wanting will be cast into the lake of fire. Oh that people realize this and I pray that I can bring those around me to Christ, can you imagine waking up one day in front of the Lord and to be found guilty?

And why say ye, Had Jesus been? For the Holy Scriptures try you now saying, Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The wicked, evil man attempts to hide himself by perverting the question, and not answering. Does the Holy Scripture say in vain, The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham? or, Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my Gospel? or, Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? REPENT NOW.

If Christ is not born again, even risen again from the dead; whom do ye imagine to crucify, again? It is written, Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. I AM the root AND the offspring of David.

  • Deanna Jones on Matthew 22 - 5 years ago
I do believe all that is, totally rely on love and forgiveness. We are quick to judge and to become offended which keep the sinning going in full motion. Then love and forgiveness stop the sin.We are all sinners that's why Jesus came to save our wretched souls.Amen

I was attacked with words by person who hates me and I didn't know how to answer them. I remember Jesus being asked by what authority he did these things. Jesus answered them with a question that they could not answer. He knew how to answer his enemies. Matthew 24: 40 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Matt 22:37 reminds me that there is purpose in His words. As we keep our focus on Him, all other things fall into place. If we are not serving Him, we can only be serving satan. We must love Him with ALL we have, every breath praise or glorify Him , every move be filled with His spirit , and holding every thought captive....someone remember that last scripture and how it goes..."holding every thought captive according to..." Be well.
  • Otelia Thompson on Matthew 22 - 6 years ago
All you have to do is ask. I believe that when you pray in Jesus name and say Amen, it shall be done according to God's will, which is not our will! We must have this big thing called faith. I have learned to trust God with my faith, wherever he guides me on my journey is where I'm supposed to be. I've learned to just stand still and be patient!! Jesus is always right beside me!! Thank you Father

"But they made light of it, and went their ways..." (cont.) AGAIN, this is what the LORD saw happening when He came down to see the city and tower that men were building; Genesis 11:1-9: the heathen revolt and conspiracy that is deeply ingrained in the natural man's psyche ever since; which thrusts away God and faith in His Anointed from them with indifference and contempt and violent hostility.
  • A disciple on Matthew 22 - 6 years ago
"But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: and the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them." Why did the Lord so often speak of such negative things and the way men are? Why did He not talk about happiness and joyful singing like so many modern Churches do? Because we are in a world that threatens to destroy us!!!
  • Servant of the Living God on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago
Does any here understand? Those who were bidden to the wedding were they not evangelicals who could come because they were busy with politics. He without the proper garment was a wolf in sheep clothing. Many are called but those who sanctimoniously claimed to be saved will be outside the gate gnashing their teeth. Woe to those who seek to keep the poor and disenfranchised without a voice. Woe

The "foolishness of preaching" WHAT? The cross of Christ! It is foolishness to the "wise" of the world, and weakness to the "mighty" and proud of the world; but to us who are saved; both Jews and Gentiles, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. And it cannot be by anything but the Word that the Spirit convicts men to repent and believe in Jesus: NOT by human wisdom, but by the Spirit!
  • Bruce on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago

Steve; All we have to do is walk in truth in Christ, and the light in us will antagonize those who hate the light. They will lie against us, and work against us from out of the Churches; because they know not the Father nor Jesus. They will call us proud and accuse us of every evil thing; while they themselves are still sinning and in gross doctrinal error, that NO ONE can snap them out of it.
  • A disciple on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago
Faith comes by hearing THE WORD OF GOD! This "tug on your heart" is such a watered down and misrepresenting of the truth! The Holy Spirit CONVICTS men of their sins, because we are unfit for God's presence until we are reconciled, washed and cleansed, and made new men in Christ; BY THE WORD OF GOD, not man's words; and certainly not by the easy kind of spurious OTHER Gospel, which is taught today!
  • Bruce on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago
disciple: I said a lost person doesn't need to know one Word of The Bible to be Saved. Are you saying they need to be a Bible Scholar? The lost come to Christ by The Foolishness of Preaching. The Holy Spirit will tug on Their Heart. Not Knowing One Word of The Bible They can ask Forgiveness. Is He Tugging on Your Heart?
  • A disciple on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Becoming a Christian does NOT mean one has already made it. Many will fall away and be deceived and perish. Many will seek to enter and will not be able; because the Lord doesn't know them. He that is of God hears God's words and does them; those therefore who don't fill their bellies with the Word of God, will starve to death

Guest:Who gets in? One can know The Bible from Genesis to Revelations. They can be a Walking-Talking Bible and still be condemned. You don't need to know one Word of The Bible to be Saved. Just they're a sinner. The Spirit will tug on your Heart, that's The Father Calling: John 6:44. Only by The Blood of The Lamb: Revelation 1:5, Baptized with The Holy Ghost: Mark 1:8, Changed: 2Corinthians 5:17
  • Guest on Matthew 22 - 7 years ago
What was he wearing? Why was he refused entrance? The commoners were invited after the Kings friends made excuses! Then the acceptable apparel is unpretentiousness. The King knew immediately who was inappropriately dressed. Who gets in? Those who are prepared. Those who are steeped in the word of God, both new and old, Jesus, Moses, Paul, the Apostles, and the Prophets. BornAgain????????
