    This chapter shows us what is stated in Mark 13, and Rev 14. After the beginning of the tribulation period when Christians are persecuted and killed for their beliefs, that the 7 trumpets will sound and at the 7th trumpet Jesus comes in the clouds to call his faithful home. This is the point where Christians refer to as rapture, what a glorious day that will be!

    A kingdom is a government. God's kingdom is in heaven. Matthew 16:19 "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Daniel 2:44 " And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." The previous kingdoms refer to the world powers that are ending, soon to be replaced by God's kingdom. God's heavenly government will bring peace to the earth. Isaiah 2:4 "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Only God's government can bring peace.

    I feel these scriptures should answer your question.

    Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
    Matthew 24:7 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
    Luke 17:26-30 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

    I believe (and hope) that this indicates a period of economic stability at the time of a pre-tribulation rapture. An economic collapse will follow quickly. Famines precede the Son of Man arriving in a cloud ( Matthew 24:30, Mark 12:26, Luke 21:27) and of course the Battle of Armageddon which precedes the "Second Coming" will be a period of worldwide war, chaos, and wrath.

    2 Peter 3:10 is the same event as is Matthew 24:29, the heavens shall be shaken, the sun goes out and the moon turns red and then every living human will die and those who are saved will be with Christ. And those who are not of the resurrection are in their graves. The universe will melt with fervent heat the earth also. This is at the end but not before Christ stands on the mount of olives and it splits in two, Israel is defended by Christ and Satan is put in the bottomless pit.

    Paul did not say that he had won a fight or that he had won the race. He did say that he had finished her course. His course was unique to him. His is not the same as yours or mine. In the Christian race, finishing is the important thing. In Matthew 24:13 we read "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." But alas, so many people never enter the race and this is a race that can only be entered into by invitation. I believe the HOLY SPIRIT call is to everyone but so many do not heed the call. In Matthew 22:14 we read "For many are called, but few are chosen."

    Well, the words of our lord Jesus Christ never cease to come to pass. He is the Alpha and Omega. All we need to do is to ask Him to strengthen us so that we might not be deceived by the evil ones.

    There are no two ways of interpreting the Bible. If you are of Christ, you know that Bible is spiritually inspired. What is this that I saw that says that the son of man will take fighter and fight. Do you not understand that power was given to the anti-Christ to fight the people of God? The Bible is of no private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20). If you lack wisdom, ask and it shall be given you. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, Proverbs 3:5.

    Happy is that servant, whom his Lord when He comes, shall find so doing. Jesus is telling his disciples to give meat to their household in due season. Jesus said my meat is to do the will of Him that sent Him. As the Father has sent me, even so send I you. We must be about our Father's business sharing the good news with our families. Noah preached about the coming flood, and prepared an Ark for the saving of his household. All eight souls were saved, because they believed the report. Many will not believe the report today, as it was in Noah's day, but we must be faithful until the end, and the Lord will give us the reward of the inheritance when He comes.

    God’s Word is clear Jesus says in Matthew 24:29, Immediately after the tribulation, (Verse 30) Then shall appear ... Then shall they see The Son of man. Verse 31, With a great sound of a trumpet. Friends if you truly want to understand end time events do a study of the Feasts of The Lord. Jesus fulfilled the Spring feasts, The Fall feasts are yet to be consummated. The next will be the blowing of the Trumpet of Yom Teruah. The Day of the awakening blast, when the Feast of Trumpets begins. The 3 Fall Feasts. Feast of Trumpets then Day of Atonement then Feast of Tabernacles explains it all. Leviicus 23 lists all seven Feasts. God Bless you all.
  • Trubeliever on Revelation 6 - 12 years ago
    I caution all readers of these comments to recognize that the only truth we must take from the Bible is that our salvation resides in our faith in Jesus, and that we must be born again ( John 3:3, 16) by calling on Him to forgive us of all our sins, and come into our hearts, and be our Lord and Saviour. After that it is clear that good men may disagree honestly about what is going to happen in the last days, in many respects, but not all. The one who denies that the body of believers in Jesus will be "caught up" by His holy angels and thereby spared the wrath of God to follow, is dangerously in error, as Matthew 24:31 clearly attests. Beyond that, sincere and honest disagreement as to "pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, or post-tribulation" is irrelevant, as the scriptures are purposely uncertain on the matter in order for us to see the need to constantly pray and meditate on His Word, on these and many other points of scripture. But when scripture clearly and emphatically states that something will happen, as in Matthew 24:31, the discussion is over. For the true believers in Jesus, the exact timing is less important.

    The most important verse is verse 22 and verse 24 the elects. Those who are the reason we all are still here. Who are they? Romans 9 and 11 reveal it. Those who had to fall for the gentiles and reconciliation of the world. The true mystery. God will not judge his chosen whom he has purposed their life.

    @Ian,
    You are not far from the Kingdom of God. However, you seem to be overly caught up in the law and not so much in Love. Jesus said that not "one jot, or one little" of the law would stop until all was fulfilled. He also said He came to fulfill the law, and Paul taught us that LOVE fulfills the law. Learn to seek more the things that Mary sought and not be so concerned about the working of things like Martha was. Peace.

    The whore of Babylon is the Catholic Church. Her daughters are the churches that left the Catholic Church but kept many of its pagan rituals it adopted. Sunday worship Easter, Christmas to name the most recognized. The bible proves the real day Jesus died, the month he was born, and day he rose. It isn't Good Friday, Sunday or December. And nowhere in the Bible is Sunday hallowed and commanded to be kept holy and rested on. These are the traditions of man and Jesus warns us about them in Mark 7:6-9 and 13. And the fourth commandment is the commandment he says is forsaken. Even Martin Luther who was taught as a catholic but called them the whore of Babylon. He even recognized the true Sabbath but didn't want to go through the hassle of changing the status quo. Not surprising seeing as the Catholics were killing Christians that kept the true Sabbath. They did this for 1260 years. This period is known as the dark ages. For anyone that wants to see the proof, there are articles with biblical scripture backed with secular history and archeological proofs. Jesus and Paul warned of the false teachers and christs. The Bereans read the Old Testament scriptures to prove what Paul was teaching in the synagogues on the Sabbath. Because there was no New Testament then. The Bible says that He was "without sin" ( Hebrews 4:15). And "sin IS the transgression of the law" ( 1 John 3:4, KJV). So we know that Jesus never transgressed God's law-including the fourth commandment about keeping the Sabbath holy. If Jesus had broken the Sabbath, He would have earned the wages of sin-death ( Romans 6:23), and could not have become our Savior. It is clear, then, that Jesus never broke even the least of God's commandments, nor taught men to do so. On the contrary, He said, "I have KEPT My Father's commandments" ( John 15:10). Furthermore, at the very beginning of His ministry, Jesus set the standard for what would be His lifelong example: "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His CUSTOM was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read" ( Luke 4:16). Again, in Luke 13:10, we read, "Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath." The Law of Moses to this day is read in the synagogues. So don't fall for the deception it was nailed to the cross. The reason Jesus called the Pharisees sons of Satan they had added over 60 laws to the Sabbath day not ordered by God. These laws were nailed to the cross along with ceremonial laws like circumcision mentioned in acts.. That is the leaven Jesus tells us not to listen to. Acts 15:20, We should instead write a letter, instructing them to abstain from four things: first, things associated with idol worship; second, sexual immorality; third, food killed by strangling; and fourth, blood. Verse 21, My reason for these four exceptions is that in every city there are Jewish communities where, for generations, the laws of Moses have been proclaimed; and on every Sabbath, Moses is read in synagogues everywhere. Again the Sabbath is expected to be kept by the gentiles to hear the laws of Moses. So the apostles don't think the law was nailed to the cross.

    Jesus is the Son of God and not the Son of man. Verse 19 is a scripture among many in the Bible that proves this. The Son of man needs to repent. Jesus is sinless and God is his Father, so Jesus has no need to repent. Matthew 8:20 explains that God made resting places for everything on earth except the Son of man. The Son of man is EVIL. The Son of man has been compared to a thief in scripture. Jesus is not a thief. Matthew 24:37-39 - the coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah. Knowing that Jesus died on the cross because he refused to be called the Son of man and said he was the Son of God, then the reference to Noah must be that the Son of man is like the flood (Satan) that destroys mankind.

    Weymouth version hits the mark on this verse. With the help of my pastor looking into the original Greek, who this was originally written to and the context, we came to the same conclusion. Weymouth translation gets it right and makes it clear.

    I heard one American Soldier reading and explaining this verse like "The Eagle" is an American Soldier He said, "where there is a war American soldiers are there". So I agree with him that where there is war there will be an American Soldier there to fight, and to protect and there will be many casualties (carcasses/dead bodies). God is not done with America even after rapture!

    4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Chapter 24 is a warning of the evil that is to come upon Christianity. Heaven is a word used to describe both the sky above the earth and also the distant Heaven where God resides. "The universe is the dwelling-place of God. Whether on earth or in heaven, we are still in his habitation. The earth is one of them, heaven is another." The Son of man is evil. When you see missiles and bombs coming out of the sky (heaven) that are directed toward Christian cities and nations, it will look like lightening. The Son of man will take to the sky with powerful fighter jets and the earth will mourn because WW3 has started. Verse 32... the angels are the air forces of the nations fighting Christianity and they unite in battle. Verse 42 says watch because the Lord (Jesus) will not come when you think he might. Verse 43 confirms this because it compares the Son of man to a thief. Jesus is not a thief. Verse 45 talks about the true servants of God, followers of Jesus. These people will be blessed when Jesus returns to fight the Son of man at the end of WW3. Christians that are converted to a false religion and kill true Christians during this war because they think that God is not helping prevent the death of his chosen people by allowing so much time to pass before he does return, will be cut down and destroyed when Jesus returns.

    Mathew 24:15 in fact is the false religion which marks the abomination that make desolate. We see same thing in Revelation, the whore that sits upon many waters; a woman clothed with scarlet whom John marveled at…

    @Brad Holland,
    To study the differences between the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) and the other versions is something you should do with diligence ( Hebrews 11:6; 2 Timothy 2:15) and I believe you will conclude that the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is the only inspired word of God as I have. As for the vulgate text it is from the Alexandria manuscripts (Egypt) Latin based that the catholic church uses for their version translated by origen and others that is proven to be corrupt by most honest and true bible translators. The King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is translated from the manuscripts of Antioch ( Acts 11:26) (Textus Receptus) where you will find that most honest and true translators conclude to be correct. As for the original text there are no original texts and when someone can produce them I might start altering my thinking on this subject. God is never to concern about the originals, see what god does with originals and how he preserves his word ( Exodus 32:19, Exodus 34:1; Psalms 12:6,7; Matthew 24:35; Peter 1:19) more original writings ( Jeremiah 30:1, Jeremiah 36:27, 28, 32). God has preserved his word in the King James Version 1611 (authorized version). When a person comes to conclusion that all versions are of God they have not studied the scriptures with diligence. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ( James 1:8). There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of is the ways of death ( Proverbs 14:12; 2 Timothy 2:15).

    Deep breath before the plunge. I am working to have the global peace project, as a modern revelation of the gospel of peace - Matthew 24:14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 12 And at all times, and in all places, he shall open his mouth and declare my gospel as with the voice of a trump, both day and night. And I will give unto him strength such as is not known among men. Doctrine and Covenants 88:103 103. And another trump shall sound, which is the fifth trump, which is the fifth angel who committeth the everlasting gospel—flying through the midst of heaven, unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.

    Sounds like a secret rapture if the reader will conclude on this one text alone. But one cannot build a Bible doctrine in one verse alone. It should go in harmony with the whole context and subject of Christ's second coming. A little here a little there and precept upon precept.

    Only God Himself, in JESUS, knows when the world will end! It is all said in Matthew 24. God bless him who suggested to me that I should read the whole of Matthew 24 and I have just read it! Jesus speaks of His second coming we know not when! The Mayans are not the prophets commissioned by God to tell the world that December 21 is the appointed time for Jesus's second coming! The end of the world can come at any time, thus we have to be prepared, repent from our sins, seek God's Divine Mercy through Jesus, pray for the Divine Mercy. This is a devotion taught or instructed by Jesus Himself to Sister Faustina, a Polish nun.
