    Hi Pander Rue,

"on Matthew 25:34 So Jesus recommends usury? Considering that he drove the money lenders from The Temple with knotted cords I consider this to be Apocryphal."

Thanks for your comments on this platform. May I ask for a clarification of what you meant by "...I consider this to be Apocryphal." Thank you very much.

God bless you and everyone of this platform.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. -- Read John 3:1-21

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a (new) creature: old things are passed away; behold, (all) things are become new.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Matthew 25: They were all virgins but 5 were lost --read the chapter

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

( John 3:7 Jesus said ye must be born again)

We all can find a verse that tells us what we want to hear, there will be many lost after he says depart from me. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    Commentary Rev. 7

Chronologically; it would seem that this would be an event immediately after the seal judgments. It is entirely possible even with some overlap after the Tribulation begins that the 144,000 had already begun their ministry. We go then immediately to the great multitude of those in verse 9 and 10; and repeated in verses 13-14. This would appear to be resurrected bodies which would mean this signifies the Second Coming when they finally appear. What is not clear is whether these 144,000 were actually involved at all in witnessing to the multitude; we notice the absence of any mention of it here. What we do know is that they are given a seal of being "untouchable" much as Elijah was and will be along with the other prophet giving witness in Jerusalem at that time. The trumpet judgments destroying the earth will not affect them (verse 3). This reminds us of the angel in Ezekiel 9:4 where those who would decry the evil would be marked and preserved from destruction (also something like those who had blood on their door before the Exodus).

Clearly Antichrist will mock this with his OWN mark either then or right after the 2 prophets are killed and resurrected. He also will imitate the works of Elijah bringing fire down from heaven; no doubt to authenticate his "divinity" and also to imitate what the 2 Prophets did.

It seems the 144,000 may be translated; there is no doubt that they will be persecuted which could explain Matthew 25:36-40. Those who help or don't help the Jews in prison at that time will be judged accordingly as to being saved or not; as once again we have to remember the sixth seal will mean any declaration of Jesus being Lord is moot; as all will KNOW that God and the Son are in heaven and starting wrath. If the wicked know certainly the righteous will. This is more like Christ when he went to free the captives in sheol; it is a declaration of victory over the grave to those imprisoned there; man; angels and nephilim.

    Dave,

I'm not sure if your question was about GOD or man. I will try my best to answer it. Ironically " ambiguous " meaning double meaning._._

I think that GOD's WORD the Bible is clear, when we study, & pray for wisdom. James 1:5,

1st GOD gave people dominion: Genesis 1:26,27,28, = power, dominion ect. Within 2nd Generation & continued; 1st crime: Genesis 4:6-9, & Genesis 4:23, dominion with disregard for others, even anothers very life. Genesis 6:5, Exodus 1:8,13,16,22, even disregard for life of children

Even then though GOD doesn't disregard HE repayed. Exodus 12:29, Exodus 13:15, notice the whole chapter of Exodus 12, points to John 3:15,16,17, Again people with dominion & power disregarding life of innocent: Luke 22:1,2,7,20,54,63,64, continued; Luke 23:1,2,15,21,33,34,

Also: they killed their own children, Leviticus 18:21, Leviticus 20:1-8, that GOD had destroyed nations for that sin! 1Kings 11:7, 2Kings 23:10,

Jeremiah 32:35, ( how? ) it's unimaginable even to GOD ALMIGHTY ! Jeremiah 7:31, Jeremiah 19:5, 2Chronicles 33:9, 1Kings 11:1-12, Deuteronomy 6:14, Deuteronomy 7:1-8, why? Was it because they destroyed the children, had disregard for innocent lives of their own offspring? Images of GOD

Psalms 82:6, in context Psalms 82,

    GOD will Judge: Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 18:5,6,10,14, Matthew 19:14, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2, 2Peter 2:7-9, Psalms 9:7,

If your question is regarding "us" "believers" Luke 12:32, Revelation 21,

There will be suffering here on Earth but promises to those who endure, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Revelation 10, 2Timothy 2:3, Revelation 6:9-11,

    Hopefully these are helpful

    Bruce,

I agree with your pastor. Matthew 10:28 says, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

That word able is the key. This to me says that God is able to destroy both soul and body in hell, meaning He has the capacity and ability to do so, but no place in scripture supports the idea that He has or will destroy anyone's soul in Hell.

In fact, the bible seems to teach that the soul, when it departs our physical body at death (And death literally means separation), but the soul lives throughout eternity in either Heaven or Hell. Matthew 25:46 is one place that would support the eternal existence of the soul. It says, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." There are several other places in scripture that also support the same eternal existence of the soul.

Now if the soul is destroyed in Hell, how could it be everlasting punishment? Some do teach that the soul will be destroyed, meaning that it will cease to exist. They call it annihilation. But the bible does not support that teaching. But I would have to agree with your pastor. As person will either spend eternity with Christ, or they will go off to everlasting (Same as eternity) punishment, completely separated from Christ throughout eternity.

Is there any other place/s in scripture other than Matthew 10:28 that would cause you to believe that the soul is not eternal?

    Hi earl.

here in revelation 22:11 it says let him holy or unjust ect...still!

earl this suggests after this lifetime and after judgment.

( he that is unjust, let him be unjust "still:" and he which is filthy, let him be filthy... "still:"... and he that is righteous, let him be righteous... "still":... and he that is holy, let him be holy "...still".)

    revelation 22:14-15 verifies that!

" blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,...and may enter in through the gates into the city.....

"for without" are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."

"after" this life some will remain righteousness that will enter in through the gates into the city.

and there are some who will remain unjust " the dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." who will be without the city.

and revelation 21:8 tells us where they're going!

"but the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

also: revelation 20:13-15 states "and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works." this suggests after this life!!

daniel spoke of this in daniel 12:2 "and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

this also suggests 2 groups after this life in an everlasting condition! ( unjust still and righteous still.)

jesus makes reference to 2 groups, 2 destinations after this life in

    matthew 25:41-46.

and it's everlasting not a refining fire!!

come on earl let's humble ourselves and not get in the way of this great truth.

    Matthew 25:31-46,

Romans 14:4, GOD will judge ultimately, Romans 14:12,

These scriptures alert me: Jeremiah 7:18, Jeremiah 44:17-30 not to worship Queen of heaven, not to give offering either,

Matthew 23:9, call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 23, please read whole chapter, it actually corrects several Christian churches & leadership titles.

    John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12,

1Timothy 4:1-3, false to teach forbidding to marry, 1Corinthians 7:28, 1Corinthians 7:2-6, by leaving these out of teaching & allowing into ministry, only the supposed abstainer may have perpetrated the horrible stain in that part of the Church today.

Matthew 25:31-45 show what happens when Christ returns. For those who do NOT believe in the Milennium period they say that's it; the final judgment equivalent to that of Revelation 20:11-15. Notice the parameters though. The distinction is made among those who did certain works such as visiting one in prison. It is clear that is not for this dispensation but for a time when there is no question who Christ is (as shown from the reaction of the wicked by the 6th Seal). It will be clear after the Resurrection of those in Christ and the Rapture combined that scripture is true; at least to anyone not deliberately avoiding the obvious conclusion. Thus; the result or fruit of true faith at that time can ONLY be demonstrated in the reaction toward God's faithful; which no doubt will include those 144,000 and other believers who are martyred en masse after whatever imprisonment occurs.

After 1000 years of peace on earth; there will be sudden fire from heaven during Satan's last stand. It appears that only those who have transgressed die at that time. There will be no time as there is in the Tribulation for Jerusalem to be attacked; women raped; and men massacred in any prolonged campaign.

The Resurrection of all in John 5:28-29 may appear to be all at once; but the physical resurrection of the dead seems to be at the end of the Millenium (with the "Day of the Lord" likely encompassing the time from the beginning of the Trib to end of Millenium) 2 Peter 3:10.

Basically those taking the mark of the beast WILL all go to sheol for 1000 years. The rest who are PHYSICALLY alive once Christ returns (i.e. those hidden in Petra and the few Gentiles who make it to the end) will be judged if they are able to enter into the Kingdom or not. That's how I see it; perhaps they will immediately die or be cast into hell alive at that time.

Rightly dividing scripture takes careful work.

There are several reasons someone asks this question. I'd like to address the core of your question. If you're having situations in your life that seem impossible, please remember GOD can do impossible! He "said" & the entire Galaxy came into existence, Genesis 1, the Bible is full of GOD's miraculous compassion, 2Kings 7, notice there was a horrible time with horrible actions, 4 leperous men, (usually cast out away from other's because of it) they were in a seemingly hopeless situation. Yet GOD had already made provision for all the City.

GOD cares for us even more than He does the sparrow. 1Peter 4:12-14, 1Peter 1:7-13, hope to the end. 1Peter 2:19-25,

Psalms 139, Matthew 10:22, endure to the end. Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill."

With that said, instead seek The Savior,John3:15-16, Jesus Christ understands Luke 22:40-48, Matthew 26:36-39, Hebrews 4:15

John 17, Jesus overcame so we can endure through by His example, Revelation 3:21, Romans 12:21 to live is good. 1John 4:4, John 16:33, Hebrews 2:17,18,

We all have to live our own lives & will give account. Matthew 25:31-46, Romans 14:12,

I hope, if you've suffered such a tragic, sad loss, that GOD gives you comfort.

I pray in either situation. GOD gives you direction, hope, encouragement, faith & comfort. Stay in HIS Word.

Hopefully this is helpful. Please let us know if you need prayer.

There are signs given that precede Jesus's Return: Matthew 24, Luke 21. They are described as being like a woman's labor pains: mild at first, violent at transition.

Another sign: the Abomination of Desolation.

    Read Matthew 25:15

    Mark 13:14

    Revelation 21:27

Another: Israel will be surrounded by their enemies.

Considering the context it could be referring to those who think they are one of Christ's (alive),but only realize they spiritually dead when Christ returns. Other scriptures to support this thought. Matthew 7:22,23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity". Matthew 25:11,12 "Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not". In both scriptures they thought he was their Lord. Interesting that one of the verses he said he "never knew them". It wasn't that they knew him and then fell away.
  • Daniel - In Reply - 2 years ago
Amen Juarez. The problem is, many in the modern church haven't read Daniel or about Bible prophesy well. The "no rapture" or "the rapture is simply the 2nd coming" even replacement theology which is like a plague in this discussion all come from heretic doctrines.

One of the strongest proofs of a Pretribulation Rapture is the event of the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet in Daniel 9:27 and then again by the Jesus Himself in Matthew 25:15. This is the event when the Antichrist will claim to be god from the temple in Jerusalem, and demand that the world worship him or be killed. From this blasphemous event, it will be exactly 3 1/2 years until the Lord's SECOND COMING ( 2nd Thessalonians 2:4).

Since the Bible plainly states that no man knows WHEN the Rapture will occur ( Matthew 25:13), we must conclude that it will be a Pretribulation Rapture, because we DO KNOW it will be exactly 3 1/2 years between the abomination of desolation and the SECOND COMING.

1st Thessalonians 4:14-18, "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

All Christians will be removed from the earth at the Rapture. However, the Bible teaches that sinners will be saved after the Rapture, during the Tribulation Period ( Revelation 7:14). We read in the Book of Revelation that the Beast will make war against the saints ( Revelation 13:7). These will be people saved during the 7-year Tribulation.

    Lynne,

Another comment : Notice, Jesus was speaking to people who called themselves son's of Abraham, putting themselves as heirs to salvation. Genesis 22:18, Luke 16:14, in Luke 16:24-25, then Luke 16:27-31, there's many things Jesus is saying here. He's pointing out Salvation isn't sealed in birthright.

Nor those who think because they should be allowed in but live cruelly towards others: Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 7,

He's also pointing to his own resurrection. Luke 16:31, & prophecying their denial of him even after that prophecy is fulfilled.

Notice also: John 3:12, Isaiah 55:9,

    Hopefully these are also helpful
