Lets start with a very well known verse, Mark 16:16, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.". I think just this verse is a very clear answer.
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus asks His apostles to baptize new believers. Now suppose you were a new believer living at that age. And an apostle or your pastor asked you to be baptized. God asked him to baptize new believers so he asked you to be baptized. And suppose you answer him back that you don't want to do it because you feel it is not necessary. So God wants you to be baptized and you don't want to be baptized.
Lets go back to John the Baptist.
Was John's baptism from men or from God, Jesus asked the Pharisees. They pretended they didn't know. John in 1:33 records John the Baptist saying , "And I knew him not: but HE THAT SENT ME TO BAPTIZE WITH WATER, the same said unto me, ..."
What John's baptism stant for? Luke 3:3, "And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;"
So it was not a ritual that John thought of to establish or something he did because the Jews were doing it in the past, but it was a new thing, a God's direct command to him.
But you may say that that was another baptism than the christian baptism. Yes this is true. But what I want to make you think is how it seems to you when God asks you to do something and you saying back to Him "Oh well God, I will not do it, it is not necessary". Does this sound logical to your ears?
So I tried not to answer directlly to what you asked, but tried to show you how bad it is for one to deny what God wants them to do and go around trying to make His command sound unnecessary, so actually cancelling it.
Jesus said to the Pharisses, "But the Pharisees and lawyers REJECTED THE COUNSEL OF GOD AGAINST THEMSELVES, being not baptized of him.". Well lets not do the same with the christian baptism, rejecting God's Wiill for us.
If baptism required for salvation, and if so which one?
Matthew 28:19 - The "Great Commission" command from Jesus: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them"
Acts 2:38 - "The day of Pentecost" "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Christ is omnipresent and not bound by the limits of time or space. When Jesus promised in Matthew 28:20, "lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world," He declared His constant presence with every believer, no matter where they are. David proclaimed in Psalm 139:7-10, "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." This eternal reality points us to Christ as God in the flesh ( 1 Timothy 3:16), unlimited in His power and presence.
When Jesus walked the earth, His physical body was localized, but after His resurrection and glorification, He transcended all limitations. In John 14:18, He promised, "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." This is fulfilled through His Spirit indwelling each believer ( Colossians 1:27, Romans 8:9-10). At the same time, He intercedes at the right hand of God ( Hebrews 7:25), proving He can be present in heaven and in the hearts of His people simultaneously.
Christ Himself said in Matthew 18:20, "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Paul declared in Galatians 2:20, "Christ liveth in me." Yet John also saw Him walking among the seven churches ( Revelation 1:13). These passages show that Christ is not confined but active everywhere at once.
This truth is a source of comfort: He hears the cry of the saint in a prison cell, strengthens the missionary across the seas, and walks beside you today. Truly, He is Emmanuel, "God with us" ( Matthew 1:23), never distant, never absent, always present to guide, comfort, and uphold His people.
I believe during Jesus ministry he preached the kingdom Gospel to the lost sheep of Israel.
I also believe the kingdom message has been suspended until the Jews call upon the Lord during the Great Tribulation.
I believe this is shown in " Hosea 5:15" I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
Also Jesus quotes Psalms 118:26 in Luke 13:35.
Listen to King David beginning from verse 22 to get the context. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. Psalms 118:22-26
In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus commissions the Apostles to go reach all nations though their primary mission was to the Jews and Paul's was to the Gentiles.
I believe this was to bring all under the ministry of the cross for salvation apart from the kingdom message until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
When I read Galatians 2:9-19 it seems that Paul expects Peter and the other Jews to walk according to the Gospel of grace rather than mixing laws of the Kingdom message and the liberty of the New covenant.
Grace was preached in rituals in the OT and played out in the NT.
Grace never changed throughout the Dispensations.
However the mystery and revelation began to unfold and faith being displayed differently.
"Faith looking foward and Faith looking back as revelation was being revealed.
There's still eye opening for Israel yet to come!
This eye opening will bring in the Davidic Kingdom.
According to dispensationalism, especially Mid-Acts Dispensationalism, Peter and the 11 apostles baptized because they were operating under the prophetic kingdom program meant for the nation of Israel. Water baptism was an essential component of their ministry during the dispensation of law and the offer of the kingdom.
Here's why Peter and the 11 baptized:
1. They Were Continuing Jesus' Earthly Ministry to Israel
Peter and the other apostles were commissioned to preach the gospel of the kingdom ( Matthew 10:5-7; Matthew 28:19). Water baptism was part of that message, following the pattern of John the Baptist and Jesus Himself.
Mark 1:4 - John preached "the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins."
Matthew 28:19 - Jesus commanded them to "go... baptizing them..."
They were sent specifically to Israel (see Matthew 10:5-6 and Galatians 2:7-9).
2. Baptism Was a Sign of Repentance and Covenant Cleansing
For Israel, water baptism symbolized repentance, cleansing, and identification with the coming kingdom and Messiah. It was a requirement for entering the prophesied kingdom on earth.
Acts 2:38 - Peter said, "Repent and be baptized every one of you... for the remission of sins."
This was in direct response to Israel's rejection and crucifixion of Jesus.
3. They Were Operating Under the Law and Prophecy
Peter and the 11 were still under the Old Covenant framework, even after Jesus' resurrection. Their ministry was not based on the mystery revealed to Paul but on fulfilling what was already foretold in the Scriptures ( Acts 3:19-21).
The kingdom had been promised to Israel and was still being offered ( Acts 1:6; Acts 3:25-26).
Water baptism was a required sign of repentance and national obedience, there is no evidence of it being required for the body of Christ.
Re: Acts 2:38. I believe that the inclusion of baptism in his Gospel message, was simply Peter's obedience to the Lord's command given to him (as also given to the other apostles), shown in Matthew 28:20,21: 'to go, teach, baptize'. Anything less would have meant disobedience. And even Paul continued to follow this practise declaring in 1 Corinthians 1:14-16. It is true, that Paul stated that "Christ sent him not to baptise, but to preach.." and yet he baptized. So, it should be understood that baptizing believers was left to others (the Church?) to perform while Paul focussed himself more on preaching the Gospel. Probably similar to an evangelist (e.g. the late Billy Graham), who makes preaching his primary work and left the counseling and baptism of new believers to others.
And for James 2:17-26, it is understood that he didn't support faith + works required for salvation, rather his message here is from verse 14. He questions the authenticity of one's faith, where works resulting from that faith is absent. And he gives the example of a fellow-believer found in a destitute condition. Can a true believer lovingly tell that poor soul, 'God bless you brother - I will pray for you that God provide for your needs'? Rather, the saving faith that is in us, by the Holy Spirit, urges us to render all support necessary, being the very hands of compassion & provision to that needy one. So, the examples of Abraham & Rahab are valid, except their faith was not based on the Gospel, but their belief in God working out His purposes, resulting in their works revealing their faith in Him. Onto Page 2.

Did the 12 apostles of Christ fulfill Matthew 28:19? Read Carefully!
There is no definitive historical evidence in Scripture showing that all 12 apostles of Christ traveled throughout the entire known world to preach the gospel. However, church tradition, early writings, and some historical sources provide accounts-though often inconsistent or unverifiable-of where individual apostles may have gone after Pentecost.
Here's a breakdown:
Biblical Record
In the book of Acts, only a few apostles are mentioned in detail after Pentecost:
Peter: Preaches in Jerusalem, visits Samaria, and goes to Joppa and Caesarea ( Acts 8-10).
John: Accompanies Peter ( Acts 3, 8).
James (the brother of John): Martyred early ( Acts 12:2).
Paul (not one of the 12) becomes the main focus from Acts 13 onward.
There is no biblical record showing that the other apostles (e.g., Bartholomew, Simon the Zealot, Thaddeus) traveled widely or took missionary journeys outside of Judea.
Church Tradition & Historical Accounts
Some later Christian writings and traditions claim broader travels:
Thomas: Said to have gone to India (supported by strong local tradition among the St. Thomas Christians).
Andrew: Believed to have preached in Scythia, around the Black Sea (modern Ukraine and Georgia).
Bartholomew: Said to have gone to Armenia or India.
James (son of Zebedee): Martyred early, but later traditions say his remains went to Spain (Santiago de Compostela).
Matthew: Possibly went to Ethiopia or Persia.
However, these traditions are not in the Bible and vary in historical credibility. Many were recorded centuries later and are difficult to verify.
Paul's Unique Role
Only Paul is consistently shown in Scripture as traveling extensively-through Asia Minor, Greece, and Rome, with plans to go to Spain ( Romans 15:24). He calls himself "the apostle of the Gentiles" ( Romans 11:13), and his journeys are recorded in great detail in Acts 13-28.
In Scripture, Jesus Christ initially sent His twelve disciples only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. In Matthew 10:5-6, Jesus commanded them, "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." This directive limited their early ministry strictly to the circumcision, the Jewish people. Even after Christ's resurrection, Peter and the other apostles continued ministering primarily to the Jews in Jerusalem and surrounding regions ( Acts 1-7). Their ministry was rooted in the hope of Israel and the promised earthly kingdom.
Although the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15 includes the phrase "go ye into all the world," there is no biblical record of Peter, James, John, or the other original apostles ever launching widespread missions to the Gentile nations. Their continued presence in Jerusalem and their focus on the Jewish believers is affirmed in Galatians 2:7-9, where Paul writes that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed to him, while the gospel of the circumcision was committed to Peter. The Jerusalem apostles gave Paul and Barnabas the "right hands of fellowship," agreeing that Paul should go to the Gentiles while they remained with the circumcision.
Only Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles ( Romans 11:13), is recorded in Scripture as taking multiple missionary journeys to distant lands-Asia Minor, Macedonia, Greece, and Rome. These travels are thoroughly documented in the Book of Acts (chapters 13-28). Paul uniquely preached the gospel of the grace of God ( Acts 20:24), revealing the mystery of the Body of Christ and salvation by grace through faith alone ( Ephesians 3:1-9), distinct from the kingdom gospel preached to Israel.
Thus, Scripture consistently shows that the twelve apostles remained focused on Israel and never carried out global missionary work, while Paul alone fulfilled the calling to take the gospel to the nations.
Scripture does not record all of the history of where the apostles went to preach or the content of their preaching other than the epistles of Peter, James, John, and Jude. But they did spread the gospel to all people as Jesus instructed them to do in Matthew 28:18-20. Because Jesus said that all power and authority was given to Himself, what He willed for the apostles to do in His name would definitely occur because, as God, whom they worshipped in vs. 17, His will would be accomplished.
As believers we ought to firmly believe that Jesus would ensure that the gospel to be preached to all people whether through the apostles, or His brothers, James and Jude, or Paul, Barnabas or Silas, would be the consistently the same, since, in time, congregations of believers would be made up of both Jews and Gentiles and would be of the same mind and belief concerning gospel truth.
For whatever reason we do not have contained in Scripture any of the preaching of other apostles, we can be assured that they all preached the same gospel faithfully because they are called "holy" apostles by Paul in Eph. 3:5.
By this we can know that they were obedient to Jesus in bringing the gospel to every group of people at the time they lived along with Paul.
There is really nothing sensical about there being two different gospels because Scriptures speak of everyone coming to the unity of the truth. 1 Cor. 1:13 speaks that the gospel is the same no matter who preaches it because Christ is not divided. He alone is the one who died to save those who believe and His gospel is not divided among those called to preach it. It is a specific set of truths about Jesus and His life and saving work on behalf of His church which is one body, consisting of both Jew and Greek.

For whatever reason we do not have contained in Scripture any of the preaching of other apostles, we can be assured that they all preached thesame gospel faithfully because they are called "holy" apostles by Paul.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
Acts 22:16
"And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
Acts 18:8
"And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized."
Acts 18:8
"And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized."
Acts 16:15
"And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us."
Matthew 24:35
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
I have elaborated in previous posts regarding the lack of discipleship of new believers; and it should always be remembered that Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
It appears NIV actually says go and make disciples; something I never noticed until now. Here in the King James we see the concept of teaching all things Christ has commanded-certainly that includes warnings about the thought life and imaginations being potential outward sins at some point such as adultery and hating others for two examples. We certainly can see that Jesus warns people about money being where their heart is focused on in where our treasure is; our heart is also. (Mett. 6:21).
None of us are exempt from persecution or trials as God tests us to see if we will remain faithful or fall away. That is a key concept we see with the parable of the sower and the seeds as Jesus doesn't promise exemption but expresses the certainty that those who produce fruit will pass the test of trials of persecution and cares of this world.
Going through the fire is imperitive; although we often can view scripture as simply the avoidance of sin and continually following the law if we become too legalistic in our concept of scripture. Psalm 119 demonstrates repetitive references to loving the law of God but it is onlythrough His strength that we have any desire to follow Him; and deep affection for things which He loves and He hates as I brought up the other day.
The other day I realized a friend of mine was the one that gave a hard saying on this matter to another church member. I won't get into specifics but the general idea is that our walk with God must be paramount over family and any other worldly affections.
In reading all of Rev. Chapter 10 no explanation is given about what is in the scroll. So, I cannot say what was written on it. In verse 6 it speaks of time ending and in vs. 9-11 it says that the scroll was given to John to eat. So, but no mention of it being a deed to the earth or being related to Jeremiah 32 section you mentioned.
As to Satan tempting Jesus with the kingdoms of the earth, I think that Jesus did not give much heed to Satan's statement of ownership of the world, I think Jesus knew that God truly is the owner of all things and Satan is self-deceived.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 Jesus stated that He was given all power and authority over heaven and earth (also Matthew 11:27).
Dt. 10: speaks of all things belonging to God (also Ps. 50:12 and Job 41:11) These verses cause me to think that Rev. 10:2 does not indicate that the scroll was a property deed to the earth. I do think that the scroll was about the end of time and the consummation of all things in Christ. Why John had to eat the scroll is beyond what I can figure out unless it indicates that John was given this prophecy concerning the end of this age and so by eating it, it was an indication that John would write down all that was given in the book of Revelation.
But I don't think we can truly say what the scroll said or why John was to eat it, as Scripture does not say explicitly except what it said about time ending in the same chapter of Rev.
Dear God Father in Heaven. We praise Your holy name Jesus Christ and we thank You for all things, Amen.
We pray for "Abenavides9969" and his wife. Thank you for putting in our hearts the longing we need to be saved. So we thank You for giving them both wisdom and the spirit of understanding. And trusting each other so that they open up conversations with each other. And jealousy shall be cast down into the deepest darkness, it shall remain there in Jesus Christ's Holy Name Amen. lift each other up we pray that they surround each other with love and care in Your Holy Name, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah Amen.
Dear "Abenavides9969" when I prayed for you two in your place I got the impression that she longs for the same thing that you have. So then there will be great joy in Heaven when one soul repents. And that even covers a multitude of sins, for u! Think about it. Some words for thought, Matthew 28:18 and my personal best resistance to the powers is in 2 Tim 4:2
Because there are always ppl even bellivers who don't want us to preach the gospel of Jesus. Dont stop but be simple as a dove and cunning as a snake. Stay strong and take care of you 2, stay close to the Lord Jesus and never lose hope. You know, women can be hard to read. But since you understand something, that's it. You have Jesus, the Prince of Peace, the Christ Love, The King og Kings and you have someone to go to, she not. It's clear as day that she is jealous. And you have to come together and solve it. Good luck!
Thank you for your reply, I certainly do not mind. I understand that this subject is delicate, and I am blessed to have brothers and sisters on this site willing to discuss it. Revelation is a challenging book, and I am looking forward to Jesse getting through it.
You have listed some exciting verses, and I hope to share my thoughts on them and your post, not to determine who may be right, but rather to view the discussion as a nudge to pray and study. On the verses you listed, John 12:49-50, Jesus is saying the Father gave Him a commandment and what the Father told Him to say, Jesus was obedient.
John 8:28-29, the Pharisees were debating with Jesus who He was, and He said that in verse 28-29 when He is lifted up/crucified, they will know who He is. We see in Matthew 28:54 when Jesus died and those things that happened, the centurion and those who were there greatly feared and said, "Truly this was the Son of God.
John 7:16-19, the gospels, reveal the glory of the Father who sent Jesus; all that Jesus did was accomplished by the Father through the Holy Spirit, with which Jesus was anointed without measure.
In John 4:34, John 5:19, John 5:30, and John 8:26 all say that it is the Father, not Him, on in John 14:10 Jesus was in the Father and the Father was in Him this was from the time Jesus was anointed without measure the Holy Spirit when He was baptized and made the Messiah.
Jesus was and is the Word of God; John 1:14. God was in the flesh in Jesus through the Holy Spirit, just like these verses say. The beginning in John, many understand it as the beginning of creation, my understanding is the beginning of Jesus' ministry, as we see in Mark 1:1, Luke 1:2, and 1 John 1:1.
To me, Jesus was the first in the plan of God, Revelation 3:14, and everything was created in Jesus, not by Him, and all was created for Jesus and the purpose of the Father. Revelation 13:8 and 1 Peter 1:18-21.
Today's scripture verse is John 15:18 "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you."
Yesterday I met someone extraordinary who is working in one area of crime in our area and is a Christian. I won't even get into the specifics for reasons of confidentiality; as the enemy no doubt would want to dismantle what has been done for the Kingdom of God. Only occasionally have I met someone who I would consider "sold out" for the Lord as to attempts to evangelize and fight spiritual warfare in the process and rejoices in being in the worst neighborhoods all hours of the day and night. The efforts of God's army must utilize the same tactics as the enemy; branching out to those of every tongue; nation and language as Revelation 7:9 indicates along with the Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20.
Evil follows the same sort of tactic; it has many tentacles and branches out in complex hierarchical structures. One of the most dangerous things we can do is try to stay away from everything and follow our everyday routine; pretending nothing is wrong.
There are certain situations; nonetheless that in His perfect wisdom will be averted and should be avoided; and whenever we plan to reach out and share of His amazing grace it behooves us not to go unprepared with prayers covering our backs and have prayer and scripture as meditation in our minds.
No one is perfect of course; but we need to pay attention to Godly men and women who are clearly outstanding in their faith as proved by their actions.
As a further note of warning based on what I learned the other day; there is much in churches that is often swept under the rug so to speak. And I am not referring to the Catholic church only. There has in general been too little accountability overall; and this also relates to those who are not given wise counsel in regard to the sacredness of the marriage covenant who ditch their first wives to marry another even in leadership. Let's keep praying.
2, As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Jesus confirms that the Father has given Him power over all humanity and that, through His redemptive work, God grants eternal life to all those whom He has given to Jesus. Jesus understood the Scriptures, including what had been said about Him and what He would do and suffer, as illustrated in Isaiah 53:1-12. This indicates that all of humanity has been entrusted to
Christ, beginning with the lost sheep of Israel, and that anyone who believes in Jesus will not perish but will have eternal life.
This was God's plan to make salvation possible, man had to pay the penalty, the only way humanity can be reconciled to Him, as indicated in John 14:6. The word " power " is derived from the Greek word " exousia, " meaning authority. Through the Spirit of God, He granted His power and authority to Jesus Christ over humanity, John 3:34-35, John 5:26-27, Acts 10:38.
The Holy Spirit enabled Jesus to speak the words the Father had given him to speak, John 14:24. After God raised Jesus from the dead, the Father placed all heaven and earth under Jesus, Matthew 28:18, Ephesians 1:19-23, and Philippians 2:9-11.
Jesus's mission was to do the will of the Father. In John 5:19-23, Jesus says He can do nothing by Himself, same in John 5:30. God has committed all judgment unto the Son. The word committed is the Greek word didmi, to give, to grant, to bestow; it was deliberately transferred to Jesus to do the will of the Father who sent Him.
This highlights God's plan being fulfilled, emphasizing Jesus' role as the Messiah appointed and given authority by the Father.
Hi Jingledue. Since this Site has temporarily altered how responses to questions are viewed, I'll quote a part of your question so you know that this is directed to it. "As a Christian, is it wrong to still consider myself a sinner saved by grace?"
No, it is not wrong to believe that your are "a sinner saved by grace", even though this phrase is not used in the Bible. As you know, in the Church today we use phrases or words to describe a Truth that is evident in the Bible but not the actual words used. Ephesians 2:8,9 is the Scripture that reflects the phrase "a sinner saved by grace". We could say the same about the Triune Nature of God (otherwise, referred to as the Trinity): where there are many verses that describe this profound Nature yet not using that word, Trinity (e.g. Matthew 28:19; John 17:3-5; 1 John 1:1-3; etc.). We use the word 'Rapture', which is derived from the Latin form from the Greek, which means 'to seize or to snatch' (e.g. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17). So, there's nothing wrong with using words or phrases not found in the Bible, as long as it correctly & clearly expresses a biblical Truth. But if someone is against using such words or phrases, then I would be equally comfortable in using the direct biblical quotations in lieu.
But the main point of Ephesians 2:8,9 is that our salvation is all of God's Grace & Mercy afforded us - nothing we have done or ever can do could replace or even complement God's Work for us and in us. It is truly God's Gift to us - and a gift cannot be received in exchange for something else, or else it's no longer a gift.
AThesecretthingsbelongunto theLordour God: but thosethingswhich are revealedbelongunto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
None of the Twelve Disiples was waiting outside the grave site for Jesus Christ resurrection. They never believed it.
Matthew 28:1-6
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay
I Corinthians 2:6-8
6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Note: God knew that Israel would stumble and fall. God kept the resurrection a secret from the world until he revealed it the Apostle Paul. We are now in the Grace age of Church through Jesus Christ in the body . The epistles of Apostle Paul, Romans through Philemon is our daily church living for today and the rest of the Bible is for learning.
Thank you, I did not start this thread and I should have known where it would lead. I have laid out my understanding of this over the years I have been on this site. I can give you my knowledge on what you replied, like Matthew 3:16-17 You see all three in these verses The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
What I see is that this message was given to John. When he sees the Holy Spirit alight on someone and remains, he will know that person is the one God has revealed to him as the Messiah, His Son, the Lamb of God, who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. What else I see is God's Spirit was in Jesus, not on, God gave Jesus His Spirit without measure to do all the works God did.
God manifested Himself in Jesus on earth through His Spirit. God's Spirit did not leave Jesus, that is what Jesus said to His disciples, they know him for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:17, God's Spirit was in Jesus, and If you have seen me, you have seen the Father, John 14:9.
Matthew 28:19 I can say, I have researched this verse and the manuscripts, and many say it is not in the Greek manuscripts but that does not prove anything. I can also say if this was what Jesus told the disciples to do and the method to baptize, we do not see any baptizing done this way. All baptisms recorded in the New Testament is only done in the name of Jesus. Only in Jesus' name, Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12
I love you, brother, if I reply to all you have sent me nothing will change. I feel tensions rising, things are starting to be said, not by you, like I said I did not start this thread, and if you do not mind, I feel it is best if I do not discuss this subject anymore.
I believe that you are aware of the verses I am going to list below and probably you interprete them in your own way but nevertheless.
Verses that show that the Holy Spirit is a person, not an impersonal thing, like a mere power:
Firstly it is true that God does everything through His Spirit, but not really everything, we will see it later on. That is why the Spirit is called, especially in the OT, as the hand or arm of God, because as a man uses his hand or arm to do things similarly God uses His Spirit.
1. Matthew 3:16-17, "16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:" 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased".
Here we see the Father separate from the Son and the Spirit. The voice from heaven was not the Spirit's voice but Father's
2. Matthew 28:19, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:".
Why is the Holly Spirit included in the name of God if it is a mere thing? And why one name instead of three names?
3. Matthew 12:25-32, "And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; ...26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; ...? 28if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.....31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
The reason some don't believe the trinity is because they don't believe the scriptures and they don't believe Jesus Christ is God.
When you read this verse, Jesus Christ is the Word. The three are one and that means trinity.

About water baptism.
GBU
If baptism required for salvation, and if so which one?
Matthew 28:19 - The "Great Commission" command from Jesus: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them"
Acts 2:38 - "The day of Pentecost" "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
G&P
G&P
Promises will be fulfilled!
Blessings.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof
Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

Thanks Lbooth1955 for your reply.
"Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you."
Matthew 28:19
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
Acts 2:38
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
John 3:5
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

For whatever reason we do not have contained in Scripture any of the preaching of other apostles, we can be assured that they all preached thesame gospel faithfully because they are called "holy" apostles by Paul.

Good morning
I'm excited for I can join in the discussions with you.
Eschatology ia the study of the order of things in the end times.
The Holy Spirit teaches me and you.
Well,we are to teach all nations the trinity and preach the gospel of Christ. The addresses to this doctrine isMatthew 28:19 amd1Corinthians 9:18.
Unya na!
Part 2.
See part 3.
God has Secret.
Deuteronomy 29:29
Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
I care too much for those on this site.
God bless,
RLW
Why is the Spirit insulted if it is not a person?
