God wants me to remember what He did for me in the past. I should not fear what is before me, because the Lord is always there for me.

Let us trust in the Lord, even in this time of extreme trouble due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

We, who are saved, must go forth in the strength of the Lord God Almighty. Matthew 28: 18-20

May we be as David was. As we reflect on what God the Lord Jesus Christ did and is doing for us, it should move us to do something to praise and glorify Him. Ephesians 2: 8-10

We should intensify and draw closer in our relationship with the Lord. Our prayer life and private devotions should glorify the Lord. Our efforts should be in line with His will. Matthew 28: 18-20. We are in great need of the Lord's hand on us. Especially during this global pandemic we are going through. 2 Chronicles 7:14 - 16.

I am striving to do this, but find myself falling woefully short. May we lift all the saints in prayer, especially those in positions of authority, both civil and ecclesiastical. Prayer for the lost, as it is not God's desire that anyone be lost 2 Peter 3:9

God bless all the saints on this platform. July 2021

    praise the lord

this shows what we are facing today as christians. lies, doubt and money. this must not dampen our love towards God through his son Jesus but should be used as the foundation to know about Christ more and more and to dispel the lies, doubt and the selfish use of money.

    that is my view.

Chelsea you don't need anyone around to be saved and baptized Confess romans 10:9+10 and believe, I've known people who got born again in closets, hospital beds, jail cells, etc. that is between you and the father also to receive Holy spirit is the same thing, God is more willing to give than we are to receive. Also no body is good enough that's why we have a saviour its not given by merit its given because we need it and God knows that. All things of God are given freely, we just need to do whats written to recieve. Also you don't need water look at Acts 1:4-6 so believe and receive. God Bless

Hello Chelsea. Further to what Adam has written & what I had earlier written to someone else who was in a similar situation to you: there are some Churches who will want you to fellowship with them & even participate in their Bible studies so that they can know you & establish your testimony by your witness & faithfulness before they will baptize. However, that is not a biblical requirement - generally Christians of the New Testament churches were baptized very soon after believing/being saved upon the testimony of salvation - baptism by the Spirit (being born again) & water baptism essentially go hand-in-hand.

Since you have now felt the need to be baptized, have you spoken to the preacher who first led you to the Lord? Even though he may be old or possibly incapable, he can verify your faith & even suggest/appoint someone to baptize you. And baptism does not need to be done in a baptismal font in a Church building - a river, a swimming pool, the beach, etc. would do just fine. Generally, the one who shares the Gospel & leads that person to salvation should also take the responsibility to see to the baptism ( Acts 8:27-39) - but I realize that nowadays, that's certainly not the case & baptism becomes just an added-on appendage.

And continue to be a loving wife to your unsaved husband - I can hardly imagine how difficult & distressing such a situation can be at times. Let your devotion to the Lord & your love & faithfulness to your husband always be evident to him, that he would have no accusation against your life & witness, & perchance, by your exemplary behaviour, your witness might speak mightily to his heart of the power of Christ & the Gospel. Remain strong in the Lord, sister.

    Hi Chelsea,

I'm not aware of any requirements the Bible has for someone baptizing another. But it's my opinion, that the person should be a Christian and should already be baptized him or herself. The examples of people baptizing in the Bible were Christian leaders (disciples).

But I also don't believe all churches require membership to be baptized. In my decades of church involvement, I'm not aware of any church that required that. The churches would happily baptize anyone who wanted to be- it's something encouraged and celebrated, not discouraged. So, I believe that if you simply asked a few more churches that you would find a 'yes', unless you have certain demands or requirements yourself you have imposed on them, such as not doing it during a service, but privately. God bless!

I was saved a few months ago. I am a stay at home mother with a husband who has no interest in church so I attend church every day on tv when he is not home. I want to be babtized but churches near me require I attend their church for months before they will baptize me. I honor my husband by keeping my faith to myself. His father lead me in my faith and was a Pentecostal preacher. He briefly lost his faith and stopped preaching but is now as faithful as ever. Can my father in law baptize me since no one else is willing to?

I do not believe the bible specifically states Saturday is the Sabbath. But I have also not seen mention of the other specific days of the week (ie. Wed, Thurs. etc.).

The Jewish people have always observed the Sabbath as Saturday. Jesus was a Jew and he observed Saturday/Sabbath as well.

Most everyone in the world will agree that Sunday is the 1st day of the week. Check all of the dictionary's and they will state that Saturday is the last day of the week.

So the last day, or 7th day of the week is Saturday and has been for centuries.

Here in scripture below reference to Jesus preparation for burial prior to Saturday/Sabbath.

    Mark 15:42

"And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,"

    Exodus 20:11

"For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

    Luke 4:16

"And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."

So God rested on the 7th day, and he gave a gift to us, the 4th Commandment, to also rest our body and mind from our normal weekday working activities, among other things to pray, give thanks and reflect on God. A day to breath! It really is a wonderful gift!

    God Bless

C, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Man cannot see himself being something other than what he is now in this flesh.

Flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the next world. We have to be RE-CREATED to inherit the SPIRIT world.

There is no works that we can do to accomplish this.

The WORKS OF CHRIST will bring this about.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you the are SPIRIT, and they (the words that are SPIRIT) GIVE LIFE.

The flesh lives in a world of time, the SPIRIT lives in a world where time does not exist.

In the Old Covenant man was given laws,

One being to observe the seventh day as a day of rest; Physical SABBATH.

When the SPIRIT comes to you and HIS WORDS BECOME words of SPIRIT (life); time is no more:

The SABBATH became SPIRIT and we REST in SPIRIT; or we rest IN CHRIST.

We have ceased from OUR WORKS as he ceased from his works.

Hebrews 10:1 For the law was a shadow (not the real thing) of things to come...

Hebrews 4:10 For he that hath entered into HIS REST, he also hath ceased from his works, as God did from his.

You ARE BEING CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS; it's a GIFT be still and BEHOLD the SALVATION OF GOD.

    Hi Myra,

This very simple: do you want to follow Jesus or not?

If you want to follow Jesus, Jesus said to be baptized in Matthew 28:19.

It also says to be baptized in Acts 2:38.

So, it's very simple- either you follow what Jesus says or you don't. Those who follow Jesus are called Christ-followers or Christians. Genuine Christians have an opporunity to have their sins forgiven and spend eternity with God. I want that, but strangely most don't and are only interested in figuring out how to do the bare minimum while mostly seeking pleasure in sin and doing whatever they want. Motives must be questioned of anyone that doesn't want to follow Jesus's teachings or are seeking to do the bare minimum. It's really one or the other. Either we follow Jesus or we don't. God bless.

I trusted in the Name of Christ and His work on the cross for my salvation ( Romans 10: 9-11). The word of the Lord is not open to any private interpretation, not my words but the Lord's word in 2 Peter 1:20.

Therefore as I grow in God's word my desire is that all will be included in God's Heaven. 2 Peter 3:9. That is why I go in Jesus Christ Name ( Acts 4: 10-12) and testify and witness to others about the gospel of Christ. It is my responsibility, my love for my Lord and Savior and also for the Lost in Christ to bring them to Christ. Matthew 28: 18-20.

If you read and study the Word of God, it will become evident why there are two gates. God is love and will not force anyone to trust in Him. Everyone has a choice, you choose. Or find a Bible believing church or a person whose been saved, reads the Bible, and serving God to help you make your decision about God's salvation and heaven. God is Love, but He is Holy first. God's desire is for all to be saved. Titus 3:5, 6

Call on God!! Before we pass into eternity and it will be too late.

Thanks John Nolan, I appreciate your encouraging words and yes it is our job to help others find Christ as their Savior ( Matthew 28: 18-20). And for those in Christ, to abide in His Word. It's ignorance of the Word of God that Hebrews 6:6 comes into play. (see also v.4). The key word there is "if." Thanks for your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Happy Father's Day everyone.

The chapter begins with "And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel,..." We cannot pass judgement on all the characters involved here because then we will be no better than the men that brought the woman before Christ, demanding her judgement because she was caught in the very act of adultery. We know Christ's reaction. I always wondered where the man in this incident was. (another post).

As usual, the Lord desires us to look within our selves and make righteous judgments. Decisions that will make an impact in our own lives and where we live. Our homes, neighborhood, cities, states, nation. I am by no means perfect, nor am I holier than anyone else.

A sad commentary on society, and even so that it happened in a city of the Israelites. I was taught to take care of our women folk. ( 1Peter 3:7) But we are in a point of our society that we do as we please, for there was no king in Israel at this time. v. 1.

We have abandon our core beliefs and are as rudderless boats "tossed about with every wind of doctrine." Eph 4:14

We must fall on the mercies of God, 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Our hope is to bring as many people to the knowledge and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ before the trumpet sounds and the church is taken to heaven. Rise up my brethren, for our redemption is very near. Get right with the Lord, pray for others, let's go out and make disciples Matthew 28:18-20.

    God bless all.

Good Question! It is difficult to know one verse without knowing the context of the passage. Lord Jesus made it in reference to the Communion Supper He instituted with the apostles.

Basically He was saying that He would sup with us again when we are with Him again in Heaven. The communion was given to us to remember the works that Jesus did for us while here on Earth.

One does not get saved in participating in this event as some believe. Jesus gave it as an ordinance to help us remember and celebrate Him.

When the Lord returns for us, we won't celebrate with just wine and bread. We will celebrate with Him in Heaven in a great feast. I pray this helps.

To boil it down even further, we are to love Him, learn of Him, praise Him, and follow Him. Go out and make disciples, baptizing them as Matthew 28: 18-20 tells us too. So when He comes back, we will be found faithful.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE ON HIM WHOM HE HATH SENT..

Acts 16:31 And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Matthew 28:19-20. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    Hello,

If you believe the Bible where it says the "three are one" then, the answer is yes.

1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

    Here's other supporting scripture too:

    Genesis 1:26

    John 11:6-7

    John 10:30

    John 8:19

    John 1:1

    Philippians 2:5 - 2:8

    2 Corinthians 5:19

    John 1:3

    1 John 5:7

    Matthew 28:19

    1 Peter 1:2

    2 Corinthians 13:14

    Deuteronomy 6:4

    John 14:10

    John 20:28

    1 John 5:8

    1 John 2:22-24

    Link

Beware of creative people who will try to either disregard or 'reinterpret' all the above scripture in attempt to get it to mean something else. In searching our conscience, deep down we already know what "the father and I are one" and the "three are one" means. We should all ask God directly for wisdom in understanding the scriptures and to reveal and confirm His truths to us, so we aren't deceived or mislead by false teachers. James 1:5. 1 Timothy 4:1-2.
  • How Can We Help Others Be Saved - 3 years ago
The first consideration is the realization that one of God's greatest desires is the salvation of all mankind. God's desire is clearly stated.

The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 says, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.

This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth ( 1 Timothy 2:3-4).

It is God's desire that all should be saved. He loves you so much that He gave His one and only son as a ransom to pay for our sins.

    Why pray

We should, we must, pray for the Salvation of others. What we are doing is asking God to move in their lives. Jesus said that He came to "seek and to save the lost" ( Luke 19:10). Jesus does the seeking and the Holy Spirit opens their heart. If you want to see someone's heart healed and their eternal future secured, you must be praying. Pray helps open the door to Jesus. Jesus taught that we "ought always to pray and not lose heart" ( Luke 18:1).

Why are so many still unsaved

If it is God's desire that all should be saved, then why are so many people still unsaved? 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us the god of this world [the devil] has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Do not give up praying for others. While God will not force a person to accept and love Him, He can and does work hard to bring them to Himself by giving the person ideas, thoughts, dreams, visions, laborers to talk with them, and designing circumstances in their life to bring them face to face with the love of God.

In prayer, keep breaking Satan's power in their life, binding Satan, and claiming their salvation. Continuous prayer is powerful and faith does not give up. 1 Corinthians 13

I will add to this tomorrow. Mishael

Your comment sounds like an attack on Christians who believe the Bible. Why do you post such a thing on a Bible website and what is your goal? To unite or divide?

Christians believe Jesus is God because the Bible clearly says He's God. Is that reason enough? John 1:1 flat out says it. So, so all the scriptures below that even children read and understand. It needs no creative interpreting, needs no progressive pastor to interpret, just literally what it says. Jesus being God doesn't mean He's God the Father, but God the Son. God became a man and died for you, do you believe Him?

Claiming that Christians who read the scriptures and believe are somehow just 'Americans' or 'Catholics' seems like a disingenuous attack on Christians. Labeling and dividing and lying is what I've seen done to make such anti-Christ arguments. Anyone who does this is on extremely dangerous ground. Anyone who tries to spread anti-Christ lies should be ashamed of themselves.

    1 John 2:22-24

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."

Matthew 20:28. Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Amen.

JESUS COMMANDED HIS DISCIPLES TO GO OUT AND SHARE THE GOSPEL, AND THEY DID!

IT WAS IMPORTANT ENOUGH FOR THEM TO DIE FOR.

Today it is the least interesting topic of scripture.

John 3:14-16. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Acts 16:30-31. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

    1 Corinthians 15:3-4. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 12:24 . Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

John 10:1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Let us not treat the gospel like a history book,

And Let's understand the necessity of it.

    God bless

I Praise the Lord that we as children of God can have a meaningful discourse on this forum. We all know that there are no perfect churches out there. Not even pastors or church leaders are perfect.

The Apostles stayed in Jerusalem to minister. Both Elijah and Elisha were prophets in the Northern Kingdom to the ten tribes. We know from scripture of the wickedness in the Northern Kingdom and worshipping of false idols. Never-the-less they stayed to fulfill the will of God. We too can do the same. Through our testimony, walk, and talk we can praise the Lord.

Do personal, one on one evangelism, ( Matthew 28:18-20). Pray for all, as I know many of us do, according to scripture. ( 2 Tim 2) Invite people over for a meal,( Acts 2). Nothing opens doors better than good food, and good fellowship. Get involved in a ministry. Go visiting. This one is some what difficult owing to the current pandemic we are in. Be creative. It's not easy, but the Lord will be praised. Let's be part of it. Let's not give the devil the upper hand to the souls that need to find Christ. God is still on the throne.

God's Will is that we love His Word, meditate in His Word, and do His Word (Book of James). May the Lord's Hand be evident in all the we do for Him in His Name. Didn't mean to preach, just wanted to help. God love us all.

Please agree with me in prayer that the LORD Jesus Christ's Father--Almighty GOD--will please tell me the address of where I may go and rent to, to escape from Satan's children and their lifelong abuse of me. My parents--with all due respect to them--are into evil (Satanic/witchcraft/magic/etc)--and therefore have the power of GOD (remember how GOD gave Satan some of his power to hurt Job in Job 1:1-12)? Remember, too how GOD is all-powerful and He ONLY gave all-power to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ ( Matthew 28:18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.")? Therefore, ALL POWER that is, is Christ's Father's (GOD's), others just have some of it either directly from GOD the Father, or the Son, or the Holy Ghost, or they get it indirectly via evil--i.e. the Devil or devils/unclean spirits/familiar spirits who got it from Satan via GOD & GOD's permission only). Remember, too, that GOD's will be done in earth as IT IS in heaven ( Matthew 6:9-10). This means, since Hell is in the belly of the earth ( Matthew 12:40) or the center of the earth, or the hottest place on earth (the earth's core--where scientists have taught is molten lava). GOD's will is done therefore in Heaven, on earth, and in the earth (aka in Hell). I beg you to ask GOD to please tell me where I may go to escape Satan's children's abuse. I've been abused all of my life and I have NEVER been allowed to escape it. I am tired. Please help by praying for me. Thanks.

    Rebirth Scriptures(Born Again): John 3:3 KJV., John 3:5-8 KJV., 2Cor. 5:17 KJV., Mark 16:16 KJV, Titus 3:5, Romans 6:4 KJV., 1Peter 3:21 KJV.

Acts 2:37-38 KJV., what Israel(Jews) must do. Acts 10:44:48 KJV., the Holy Spirit(Ghost) given to the Gentiles(Greeks). In verse. 8, Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ). Jews and Gentiles were baptized by water in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ). Acts 15:5-9 KJV., question at issue(Gentiles being circumcised). In Verse 7 Peter is speaking Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. In Acts 2 Peter used the keys(Jesus gave him the keys in Matthew 16:19 KJV.) first for the Jews, and in Acts 10 second, in the house of Cornelius for the Gentiles)(but Paul was distinctively(plainly) the apostle of the Gentiles, Gal. 2:7,8).

Paul speaking( 1Corinthians 15:1-10). Not only being filled with the Holy Ghost, Saul/Paul was baptized with water in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ).

Saul's/Paul's Conversion: Acts 9:17-19 KJV; Paul's Defense before the multitude: recounts his conversion. Acts 22:11-16; Paul's defense before Agrippa. Acts 26:9-18. In verse. 18, that they may receive forgiveness of sins( Romans 3:23)

1 Corinthians 3:5-8 KJV: 5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6. I(Paul) have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase(Holy Ghost) 7. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase(Holy Ghost). 8. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

1 Timothy 1:1 KJV Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope. Think about this, what is the father's name on a Birth Certificate? What name is the child born into physically? See 1John5:1-20

KJV., being baptized in the name of (Jesus Christ): The Foundation
