The Name of the Father, Jesus said, I manifested thy name John 17:6 I declared thy name John 17:26 What name did he manifest declare. In my name ye shall. Mark 16:16-18. As he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than the angels. Hebrews 1:4. We all inherit our names from our Father, but that name was kept secret in the old test. The angel of The Lord had that name in him. Ex. 23:21 My name is in him. Judges 13:18 seeing it is secret. Luke 1:31. The angel said thou shall call his name Jesus. Isaiah 12:2 Jehovah is become my salvation, which means Jesus. The mighty God. The Everlasting Father, his name is Jesus. Jesus said no man know who the Father is but the Son, and to whomever he will reveal him Math. 11:27. Pray the Son will give u revelation.

Interesting point! Faith, though highly prized and critically important, can not save you alone! No! You must have the action in conduct, in deed, and do the work assigned to a christian as stated in Matthew 28:19,20. Can 't have one without the other.

Notice they received the Holy Spirit before water baptism in verse 44. Romans 8:26 is not speaking of speaking in tongues because it says " but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which CANNOT BE UTTERED. The Church Age saint does not have to keep himself saved because God does that Eph 1:13, 4:30, 1 Corinthians 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. If baptism is a "Command, " how are unsaved children obeying a command? An unborn child can 't obey the Fathers commands until he has been born. John 3:5 flesh is water birth. We say, her water broke. Mark 16:16 is still the gospel of the kingdom not the gospel of the grace of God. Can you drink poison and handle snakes? Acts 2:38 is to Jews see verse 5,14,22,etc. They say what must WE do? Not what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:31. Acts 22:16 says calling on the name of the Lord. Matthew 28:19 says nothing about water baptism saving anyone. The apostle never got baptized according to Acts 2:38 and all are in heaven now. It was a Jewish faith Rom 1:16 that involved signs 1Cor 1:22, 14:22. Acts transitions from Jew to Gentile, from Law to Grace. Your gospel for today is 1 Cor 15:1-4. Trust the shed blood of Jesus Christ and go to heaven. Water only gets you wet in this dispensation.

Acts 10 demonstrates the acceptance of gentiles into the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit fell upon the gentiles signifying to Peter that acceptance, but that ability to speak in tongues is different than receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2: 38. It is for everyone to help us in our daily lives as evidenced in Romans 8. If not for the Holy Spirit offering up prayers to God in our behalf to help keep us in the saved state. That is why baptism is so important because it is there where we receive the gift predicated upon the fact we acquiesce to God 's command as stated in John 3: 5, Mark 16: 16, Acts 2: 38, Acts 22: 16 and Matthew 28: 19, 20. Faith only doesn 't work, because faith has to be accompanied by following commands by Jesus. Finally, Romans 6 clearly shows why baptism is demanded because it is there we receive the regeneration by water burial in a token death, burial and resurrection satisfying God 's plan for salvation. Anything short of that is merely cut and paste salvation.

I believe that God is telling us Christians to not fear anyone, but him. Tell everyone about the goodness and power of God and worship him.
  • Beth Jackson on Matthew 28 - 9 years ago
Jesus is telling his disciples what to do until he returns. All the things he said to do: first to be baptized in the Holy Spirit after you are saved which the first disciples obeyed but it has slowly been eradicated from christian teaching. This power gives us the ability to Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, preach and teach the gospel, seek him first, give, help, love, but most will pick and choose which of his commands to obey and that is what makes the church is weak and ineffective. Christians need to stop perishing for lack of knowledge. Turn off the TV and study their bibles and ask the Lord to show them the truth.

God 's word is real! I prayed for understanding as I read His word and He made it plain. My heart no longer aches from huMANs hurting me mentally and emotionally. I am not lonely His word is within me. My heart no longer aches He has my heart in His hands! Anyone without understanding, Ask Him! Anyone hurting, Seek Him! Anyone feeling rejected or abandoned, knock on His door through prayer and worship - He is real!

I think the Lord is telling his people to go out and spread the word about the goodness of following Jesus. His resurrection is proof that God is almighty. He will pick you up and turn you around if you just trust in him.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. " Go to all nations making disciples and preach and teach the gospel of jesus christ in season and out of season.

  • GlennFrazier on Matthew 28:19 - 10 years ago
My Bible tells me that all that I do in word or deed must be done in Jesus Name. So therefore Baptism is a deed, and must be done in Jesus Name. jesus is coming back for a Church that is called bu His Name, not Titles.

This taught me that hatred is still with Priest, Ministers, Bishops and other people who are on top of people. They will hate you even when you are dead. Hatred is not good at all. We must repend. Long Live Jesus

Just a lesser version of Matthew 28:19 .... Still Acts 2:38 .... It took me reading Acts 2:38 , hundreds of times before I was able to receive it with all my heart!... It was taught to me by the same Holy Spirit that Peter the Apostle was empowered with on the day of Pentecost .... Something to ponder
  • Solomon nkosi on Matthew 28 - 10 years ago
According to this chapter all i think it is all about is how we will remember him. Cause if we may go through the bibles we find out that we must not worry about him but we should worry about our self cause yes he played his role on earth now it is our turn to preach the word of him so that everyone on this earth shall become his student. Ofcose the holy spirit itself will be sent to us and its role will be to remind us of him thats what I think about this bible on behalf of us his apostles amen.

Our human understanding is limited in how we can perceive the Lord our God. There is no parallel that will ever allow us to understand his true divine nature while we walk in this world. We would all do well to accept the faith given to us through his word in the letting go of our notions of trying to rationally understand what we cannot in this life...that the Lord is divine and beyond our comprehension. He is in us, and around us. We are not bodies with a soul, we are souls with a body. Thanks be to God. Amen

To James Matthew chapter28 verse 19 remark. I thank and praise the Lord for people like you who have a child 's heart and understand the very beautiful words as they are written and not complicate them like others . God bless you for putting this remark. I hope it will bless many readers as it did to me.
  • James on Matthew 28:19 - 10 years ago
Why can 't we just do everything the 1st disciples did. God is and will always be a mystery for many things. Just do what they did and don 't rationalize and put God in a box. It 's very simple that way. Everything you do, do all in the name of Jesus . Please and thank you.
  • Joni G on Matthew 28 - 10 years ago
Dmill, when Jesus sat down on the right hand of God, we know He sat down on the right hand of himself.Hebrews chapter 1 talks about Jesus sitting down on the right hand of the Father. Revelation 5:13 talks about angels singing to God who sits on the throne and Jesus, the Lamb. Distinct but yet one. When Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, was stoned in Acts 7:55, he saw the glory of God and Jesus standing beside God in Heaven. There are many verses where Jesus talks about the Father and Him being one. John 12:49 talks about the Father who sent Jesus told him what to say and what to speak. Matthew 3:17, God tells the crowd that Jesus is His son and He is well pleased. Praise God!
  • Dmill on Matthew 28 - 10 years ago
Jesus 's disciples understood what Jesus was commanding them to do. They did not repeat what he said but they did what he said. For instance, suppose your name is Scott and I tell you to write your name on a piece of paper. You are to write Scott on the paper not your name . Jesus is the name of the Father, Jesus is the name of the Son, and Jesus is the name of the Holy Ghost. There are not three persons, but only one. God is omnipresent. He can be on earth and never leave heaven. He can be everywhere at the same time. He was Father in heaven and Jesus on earth at the same time He is the Holy Ghost that he sent after his ascension to dwell inside of us. This is the Spirit that raises us to life after being buried in the water grave of baptism. The Spirit resurrects you. The body without a spirit is dead. Except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God John 3:5 .
