    good morning brother,
i'm preparing for this mornings message and I came across your question.
While I believe all that the others have said, scripture does call it straight. I also believe that in Gods word, covenant should not be overlooked. For our God is a Covenant keeping God. Marriage is a covenant worth keeping, in ancient times it was very different to our present day ceremony. Two became one at the point of their union together, So in the eyes of God IF you are serious about your commitment to each other.... you are one. Can I encourage you to simply, put things right in the eyes of the law. God bless you brother, and if you need a Celebrant in Qld call me. 0432754912

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. ( 1 Corinthians 6:18)

John chapter 8 seems like it would be worth reading about this situation as well as some of the other comments I have seen....And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:11

This is what Scripture states on this issue.

Hebrews 13:4 King James Version (KJV)
4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whore-mongers and adulterers God will judge. If you love her, marry her and serve God.

There is no biblical advice I can give you. Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. Even if she is the only one. She is not your wife.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 7
7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. unmarried
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
Seems Paul is saying if you can not control yourself get married and then there is no more sin.

If you are acting as married before actually being married (sex/living together) you are in sin. I myself have committed the same exact sin, while going a step further and have multiple kids. I did not understand my offense until after we got married. We live separate for 3 months prior to marriage. The hardest 3 months of my life. Once we did get married i understood it was a union of 3 not 2. Married before God is marriage to God. You can not get light from darkness. Sin will never produce righteous fruit. He does not respect people nor does he compromise for your comfort. If you know something to be sinful you are obligated to repent, which in its full meaning is to stop that behavior.

I too have been in similar situation and I came to realize that the closer I walked with God and My Savior Jesus Christ the more adversaries I gained. Psalm 23, Deuteronomy 20:4 & 31:6, Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 5:43-48. You may find it difficult at first; however, pray for your enemies. Romans 12:14 and 12:20, Luke 6:27 & 12:14. I prayed and my enemies became my footstool. God and My Savior Jesus Christ stepped in and peace restored. I watched from the sidelines as my enemies stumbled and were caught in the traps they laid for me. Praise God and My Savior Jesus Christ forever, faithfully do I follow where Christ leads me. Praises to God and My Savior Jesus Christ the head of my life forever.

The bible verse Matthew 5:24 talks about leaving thy gift at the altar and go the way of first being reconciled to thy brother (or sister or anyone I believe is in the place where reconciliation is needed) and then return and offer gifts at the altar. We approach the father in heaven always through his son Jesus Christ. That favour we receive and use because of the work the Lord Jesus Christ did at the cross.Blessings

Very True Seeking Revenge and Holding onto Bitterness and Resentment destroys all the Goodness in us. God does not agree with evil and deception and we dont accept what He calls evil as good or let it continue including allowing people to teach their own Carnal and Worldly interpretation of Scripture which leads to others being Deceived Confused and Hurt. We Share God's Truth with them showing they are in error and so giving True Hope and Peace to others. Jesus said in Matthew12:30 He that is not with Me is against Me and he that gathereth not with Me Scattereth Abroad This is also confirmed in Ephesians 5:8-17 which will be shown in our Words and Actions Rom8:1 Lets Shine in the Darkness.

    Matthew 5:17-18
    17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
    18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The only law that is not in effect right now is the law of sacrifice.

Found it! Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother
has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter. First go and be re-
conciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. Is the alter meaning
communion? What if it's someone from many many years ago.

Adultery is a/the action that breaks the covenant of marriage, and doesn't necessarily require lust. In this case ( Matthew 5:28) Jesus points out that simply looking at someone in lust brings a charge of adultery.
As for if one can lust after their wife, the short answer is yes, to lust after someone is to neglect/degrade someone's humanity for own desires. In the world there are evident relationships where this is taking place.
    Here are some extra verses.
    Ephesians 5:28
    1 Corinthians 7:2-4
    I hope this is helpful.

It appears you either didn't fully read my comment or else ignored that I said loving enemies is talking about people, not satan. You can take your argument up with Jesus if you disagree with what he clearly commanded in Matthew 5:44. Are you disregarding new testament verses with direct quotes from Jesus and preferring instead to cite an old testament verse out of context solely because it fits your position?
  • Adam - In Reply - 6 years ago
Jesus commanded us to love our enemies not hate them, Matthew 5:44. In John 14:15 Jesus said if you love him then obey his commands. Those who do not, don't love and Jesus aren't following Jesus and aren't real Christians is the implication. Loving our enemies and praying for them in this context I believe refers to human beings and not the satan or demons. Human beings are all made in God's image and can still can be saved, even those who currently claim to follow satan. I don't see any scripture saying we should put ourselves in physical danger or risk of temptation to minister to them, but love them and pray for them, yes, that's exactly what Jesus said to do.

    Pray for them and share the gospel. Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 5:28 - Where is the line where admiration turns to lust? Can a woman to look attractive and not sin, and can a man to notice without sin? Is lust imagining a sexual act? What if you're already married, can someone lust after their own spouse?

There is a lot I don't know or understand but I do understand these commands that Jesus give. What is important is be ready -- Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also READY: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven. Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

And that means every word that proceedes out of the mouth of God. We are not to deny Jesus the word he is the word. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Obedience to God's Word is the Christian's test the tests can be hard at times, but if we trust obey through faith God will keep, strengthen bless us. The Bible is very clear on the subject, as we see, with no contradiction. The Jews in Christ's day had greatly abused disobeyed the Lord's instruction on marriage but of course that didn't make them right. He knows what is best for us!

Rodney- Jesus tried to help every suffering person he came into contact with regardless of their religion. We are to emulate the character of Jesus. Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you
