"Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them." I love this scripture because it helps us to see that we ALL have a spirtual need but all are not Conscious of if. But those who are, they have True happiness.
i find here that Jesus is letting us know what He expects out of us, and what we can gain from obeying His word. there,s great peace in knowing and obeying Him. He is full of love and mercy.
"Be ye angry and sin not"(Eph.5:3). "And" is a conjunction which unites anger and sin. Be ye angry BUT sin not, would give a different message. Today, we might say; Do not be angry and sin. Food for thought.
I've heard a story that the King James who appointed a team to translate the Bible, was angry with his own brother, therefore this exception was entered to favor him. I don't know since I wasn't there and havn't studied much history. It seems anyone needing a purpose to be angry could invent one. After the cross, when the new testament came into effect, we have "Let all ..anger..be put away from you" (Eph.4:31).
Matthew 5 is an awesome book in the word of God. It gives great tools on how to carry yourself under the Blessing. My first study ever given was on letting your yes be yes and your no no(Matt.5:35-37)Our words are very powerful so its important to understand the Word when it says life and death lie in the power if the tongue, (Proverbs.)The tongue is like a roaring fire that cannot be tamed is what we are taught in the James. Use your words wisely. Study big and pray big.God is love, be blessed in the name of Jesus.
Is it possible that our worldly religion has perverted our Lord's purpose, and made a scandal out of that which God created and called good. Of the 41 uses of the word "lust" in the New Testament, I find 2 that are related to sexual imprudence. The definition of lust is to covet / greatly desire. Adultry- to misplace that which belongs to another, usually sexual intimacy. To covet having anothers wife is wrong in the heart, whether it be her tidiness, her gentleness, or her good management. Does a clean delight in the beauty of God's creation constitute immorality? The church has made bold efforts to police wrong desires, thus increasing the struggle. The strength of sin is the law ( 1 Cor. 15:56). To make laws against God's beauty makes it teasingly irresistable. The battle is the Lord's ( 1 Sam. 17:47). Early Christian art in cathedrals had much nudity and Christian baptisms were performed without clothes to commemorate being restored like before the fall of man. This new concept of modesty developed in early 8th century and the body began to be classed as vile being offered by the devil. Lets focus more on new life in Jesus and stop creating temtations by ineffective religious systems. The purpose being to restore God's order, and dignity to the artist creator. Writing this has been a great risk. Love and purity to all.
I see this as; if the woman has commit fornication/adultery and then if her husband decides he wants to divorce her she is labeled as unclean and if she joins with someone else she still commit adultery against the first union. Therefore she is a whore!!!
actually,i'd be grateful if someone could explain to me the fact that why a divorced woman shall be called an adulteress?
and how to exclude an adulteress from the rule of that way of calling divorced women as whores????
I love this chapter also. It shows the Lord's definition of true, unwavering, unconditional love. It shows the love that we must possess at all times, in every situation, no matter how difficult a situation may seem. We must keep focused on living the way Jesus did and the glory and prize that awaits us for being obedient, which is eternal life. God bless to all that read this Good Book on a regular basis and may we all find fullfillment of his Word through our studies.
The only problem with a book like that is that any Joe Schmo can find it (or even make it up) and claim it as a "lost book of the Bible". The Apocrypha, for instance, has very questionable validity, as it often contradicts other scriptures.
And you also have this:
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18
and this:
“And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one pronunciation mark of the law to fail.” Luke 16:17
and this:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
What am I getting at? What I'm getting at is this: The word has been around since the beginning, since the word is GOD. It shall not pass away until all is fulfilled. That means that there wouldn't be a section of time where the word was "lost" and not known to exist. It would be silly for GOD to have a system exist for thousands of years to only throw at "oh, by the way" at us like John Carpenter throws plot twists. Sure, you could say that even if no one knew about the word of GOD, the word would still exist. However, I say this: If no one knew about the law of stopping at a red light, would anyone obey it? Would it be enforced? The answer is no. It would be as if the law never existed. If someone were to find this law again, it would be remembered, and exist again. However, GOD's law never passes away, so there can't be any "lost" books. The word has been around forever. Read your King James Bibles, be satisfied with them. Everything you need to know is in there. If you can't find the answer to something, pray about it. All things will become known to us in time.
It dont literally mean to pluck it out. It means if you are not able to stop sinning that it would have been better for you not to be able to see. Just as the scripture that says we must kill our flesh daily...meaning that we must die to this flesh, put out flesh under submission to the spirit of God. Romans 8:28...all of our body parts work together on one accord to perform our daily funtions therefore spiritually if one part of our body is causing your soul to perish, it is better to not have that part at all.
with regards to Matthew 5:32, a man who divorces his wife because of her sexual infidelity, the woman won't commit adultery if she marries another. The man who divorced her won't commit adultery too if he marries another woman. With mark 10:11-12, sexual infidelity of the husband is not included among the restricted causes when a wife wants to divorce her husband.
i love this ch. if you keep the right spirit, and do as jesus would do in every situation you will be truelly blessed. It's easy for us to loose our tempers and last back at others, and only love those who love us, but Jesus loved us when we were unloveable. If were his we'll also show love to those who are unloveable. for if they don't see the light in us(gods children) then where will the lost see it.
GOD HELPS US ALL! MATTHEWSRD CHAPTHER 5 IS VERY POWERFUL. GOD PLEASE GIVE ME THE UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR WORD. PLEASE GIVE ME A CLEAN HEART AND GUIDE MY FOOTSTEPS THAT RIGHT PATH. PLEASE FORGIVE FOR ME FOR MY SINS
MY GOD, MY GOD!!! MATTHEW CHPT 5 VERSE 48 IS SO POWERFUL...I WONDER, LORD WILL ANY OF US MAKE IT? LORD GIVE ME A CLEAN HEART, GUIDE MY FOOT STEPS, SO THAT I MAY ONLY GO IN THE DIRECTION YOU DIRECT ME, GIVE ME WHAT TO SAY, SO THAT I WON'T OFFEND ANYONE, & MOST OF ALL GIVE ME A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR WORD. ALL THESE THINGS I ASK IN THE NAME OF JESUS. AMEN.
Their are so many people in the world that have been hurt by others and to no fault of their own, even so why are versus such as Matthew 23 and 24 not encouraged to be practiced.for they are a part of Gods words as well and how con healing take place for both the one that's been hurt and the one doing or have done the hurt. Why is the one being hurt is so brushed off and told to suck it up, ignore it, move on, Not to say these are not true but we need the other as well.their are many including my girls who have been hurt in the church and will not go back to the church that they believe in (their doctrine) because the hurt and pain have not been healed nor accepted by others. When will the healing take place that needs to? We all believe the Lord is coming soon but only part of Gods word is practiced not the whole.
The most crucial contribution this Day of Atonement Rite has for us today as regards Christ's having come to fulfill it (See Matthew 5:17-18) . . . a contribution that the majority of the Christian Body misses out on in fact, is that Christ, our Great High Priest entered the Heavenly Sanctuary approximately 165 years ago in order to make Atonement for those who would soon rise to aid Him in Judgment of determining the worthiness of those of us who make the Soon-Coming Rapture. See Revelation Chapter 15, verses 5-8.
Fanatical? Preposterous? Well, tell Him that! That's what He has shown me. How many much more would benefit from listening to Him . . . in His Word!
