What you're dealing with is demonic. Unbelievers don't know they've been taken hostage.

Believers know they've been snared. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can break the ties that bind us. We pray and ask for HELP to break the bonds and be freed. We do that by depending upon what Jesus did on the Cross to set us free. He paid in blood. Satan nor demons have AUTHORITY to cross that blood and take a Christian captive. Whom the Son sets free, is free Indeed.

Faith in Christ stands up and takes that authority back! Ephesians 6. The Helmet of Salvation. Start pleading the blood of Jesus when THE TEMPTER shows up. The more scripture you know__the more ammo you have to shoot back at the evil. Read about Jesus 40 day fast after his baptism. "IT IS WRITTEN_____ " you fill in that blank with a verse, like He did. It absolutely works. We're weak often because we fill our minds with television, novels and video games.

This could be useful. "You (us) shall know the truth, and the truth sets us free." I'm thinking that: Not people, but spirits are on assignment in a room dedicated to Gods Word: the King James Bible.

So like last night I was about to go to bed, and the Holy Spirit said "contention".

If we read Psalms enough, we will see that King David occasionally was victim temporarily to sadness, anger at enemies, King Sauls relentless pursuit and many other issues. We work this stuff out by prayer and sometimes speaking the truth in the spirit of love, for the brethren.

Here is the origin of the spirit of contention. We need to recognize it's been busy in here for weeks. Lord, make me an instrument of Your Peace. Amen. Let's let the Spirit of Christ rule over our hearts.

    Spirit of Jealousy: Manifestations:

Revenge-Spite, Anger-Rage, Jealousy, Hatred, Cruelty, Strife, Contention, Competition, Envy, Cause Divisions Scriptures; murder

    ( Genesis 4:4-6; 37:3,4,8; Proverbs 6:34; 10:12; 13:10; 14:16-17,29-30; 22:24-25; 27:4; 29:22-23; Numbers 5:14,30; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; Song of Solomon 8:6; Galatians 5:19)

Roots... "The Works of the Flesh," Galatians 5:19-21.

"By their fruits you will know all men," Matthew 7:20. According to Matthew 6:10; 11:12; 12:29; 16:18; 18:18; 28:18

    BIND= Spirit of jealousy

    LOOSE= Love of God, 1 Corinthians 13; Ephesians 5:2

Testimony: as a kid I lived in a household divided some ways. Me and my Dad were placid and peaceful. He was full-blood Cajun. I was a negotiator. My sister, the silent one. The others were fighting lots. Dynamics awful to live in. But you learn skills that are useful later on.

Michael the Archangel and Satan (a fired Archangel) contended for the body of Moses. Michael said, "THE LORD REBUKE THEE." Satan let go.

We have to recognize it for what it is. Let's all pray for these Comment Rooms. Lift them up and ask the Lord to bless them; attract unbelieving seekers of salvation in Peace.

    Hi Brother Rick,

Over the years, various biblical scholars and language experts disagree on the interpretation as a gift or favor. (You can easily research this subject.)

I believe God's promise as "a favor" simply because we are instructed by Jesus and all of the apostles including Paul, throughout the scriptures to follow Christ, repent from sin, be baptized, and follow God's 10 commandments, to produce good fruit/works.

Brother Rick, you state you will stick with the scriptures, then you will agree we must take some action too - to receive our salvation!

Here again is apostle Paul "King of Faith" speaking that "we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling". This takes Action on our part! There are many more verses throughout the bible instructing us "to take action" if we wish to receive our salvation.

    Philippians 2:12

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

So, we must "work out our own salvation", there is no FREE TICKET!

If we are Born Again, we must experience a change! Our old selves should die, and we will live differently, by making a conscience effort to follow God's 10 Commandments and refrain from living sinful lives.

Based on the scriptures, the act of "just believing" does not accomplish salvation. The easiest way to fail, is to say "I can just believe" and continue to live my sinful life and I will receive my salvation. Many people believe this false doctrine and I would suggest they read this scripture below, and think about where their own salvation stands today!

    Matthew 7:14

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Happy Sabbath Day, and God Bless.

1 Peter 3:15 says to always be ready to defend the faith.

2 Corinthians 10:5 and Titus 1:9 and Matthew 7:15 suggests that we are to challenge false teachings.

This should be done in love and respect for others. It appears that some want to be able to post their various opinions to challenge others, but don't seem unwilling and perhaps not secure enough to have their ideas challenged. They seem to want to dominate with their falsehoods, but act offended and retreat in the slightest questioning of their assumptions. Some interpret even the most benign questions as argumentative or unloving, which seems to protect their narrative.

For example some don't believe John 1:1 is true. It's a strange distortion of the Word that seems only recently to have gained traction among fringe groups. We know that anyone contradicting scripture is not speaking Words from God, and if it's not from God, it should be obvious who its coming from. But many are so convinced in their own mind that all scripture viewed through that narrow lens offers confirmation bias, even though the belief itself is self-contradictory.

A Christian is a Christ follower who believes Jesus is Lord. Jesus is God. Not a separate God, not Father God, but God the Son, and He's part of the truine God. It says this clearly in John 1:1 and many other scriptures. But just because people have a hard time comprehending how He can be a Son and have a Father who is also God and also be 'one', doesn't mean people should invent human reasoning that departs from the scriptures to explain their worldview. That's where people start making up stuff and disregarding lots of scripture. Then if they don't believe in Jesus's divinity, and don't believe Jesus is Lord, then one might ask, are they then a Christian?

John 20:28 - if someone reads this and says Jesus isn't God and isn't Lord, are they being honest with themselves?

The Pharisees also didn't believe Jesus was who He said He was. They thought He was blaspheming by calling Himself God through "I AM" statements, and they wanted to kill Him.

We should pray for wisdom and understanding and stay in God's Word. God bless.

Hello, it really doesn't matter what man thinks, but what God says, correct? So, if you believe and trust God then go with God's word. Here's the problem: people are falsely assuming they're 'saved' before they're even judged. It doesn't say in the Bible we're saved before we're judged, but after. The judgment is to determine salvation. So, you have many here claiming they can't lose their salvation. But that won't occur until after this life. So, they are taking verses that are for that and assuming they apply now. But read the Word closely, Paul said we can have assurance of salvation. Not that we're saved and can do whatever we want with no consequence. Paul said to run the race to get the prize. But people here are thinking he said 'you already have the prize, so don't run any race, and enjoy the world.' It says don't conform to the world.

Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

    Matthew 7:21-23

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

    Hebrews 6:4-6

James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."

James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

    Romans 11

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Matthew 12:31-32

    Romans 14:12

1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not the 'race was already won.'

    Hi Sarah.

Lets put this verse in context.

In the previous verses the Lord is speaking of false teachers and how to identify them. -

Matthew 7:15-21. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

In verse 22 he gives the contrast of the deceptive vain works of those mentioned.

If you noticed the Lord never challenged them in their proclaimed works

    The Emphasis is being deceived!

He said I NEVER knew you.

You see in the scripture unbelievers prophesying.

EXAMPLE: John 11:49-51. And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

    And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

This group in verse 22 was NEVER saved!

Jesus says I NEVER new you.

It's not what you know, It's who you know and who knows you!

John 10:26-28. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

( MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, AND I KNOW THEM, and they follow me:)

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Your fruit reflects what has been changed on the inside.

    God bless.

You are not of the world, if you are a true believer in the gospel, you will cast out even demons! Unaware you may be of these things, you are bringing a soul closer to His redeemer! Do you believe you don't need to follow Jesus to be saved?

A Christian is literally a Christ follower, so if someone prays and accepts Jesus into 'his heart' as a teen then spends a lifetime of sin and blapheming God is he 'saved' to you?

What I meant previously by calling the name of the Lord is this verse: Matthew 7:21 - some will beg 'Lord Lord' and assume they were a Christ follower when in fact they weren't. Most people will go to hell. Jesus warns us of that repeatedly through parables and says to fear God. Paul says to run the race that he would 'win' the prize. Thse things they preached involve a life of action and effort- to transform into 'slaves of righteousnes', not someone kicking back smoking weed on the couch and enjoying being 'saved'. So, whenever I hear someone saying good works are bad, I know it doesn't come from God.

Romans 10:13 presumes you're choosing to follow Christ in calling on the name of the Lord. It doesn't mean Hitler can mass murder millions and curse God's name, but a take 5 second break and just say the name of the Lord and be saved. It presumes someone is genuinely pursuing Jesus Christ which is what the definition of a Christian is. God knows our hearts and whether we are genuine or not. Satan loves deceiving people into believing they can sin all they want with no consequence, but that's far from what Jesus says in the Bible. God bless.

    Brother David,

You seem to be accepting only scripture that assures you - that no matter what you do - you will go to heaven! Sounds a lot like the false doctrine being preached in many of the mega churches today. People love it, look at the size of the congregations. Sure, you can keep your worldly life, sin at will, and low and behold - you have been told if you just believe - you will have ever lasting life - in Heaven.

Any chance all these crowds of people might be mistaken, and could they be overlooking simple bible scripture right in front of them:

    Matthew 7:13-15

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

We can't just ignore ton's of scripture, including much of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as his teachings while on this earth.

Here's just one scripture spoken by Jesus, that deals directly with salvation, specifically telling us what Jesus will be expecting from us - if we wish to enter into the city. (Heaven) Jesus gave these words in Revelation from his place in heaven to apostle John, 40-50 years after his death.

    Revelation 22:12-14

12 And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

Jesus is telling us that he is the Judge. He tells us he will reward us according to our work. He also says, blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates of the city.(Heaven)

    Something to really think about.

    God Bless.

    Hi Michael,

Just one verse in the Bible is all it takes to refute the OSAS theory:

Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

But there's so many more verses too. Paul is the one who said we can have assurance of salvation, but what people often do is the remove the contingent part- this requires us to "follow Jesus!" A Christian is an active Jesus follower. It's a pursuit that involves effort and transforming oneself. Not being slave to sin, but to righteousness. People want their cake and to eat it too, by not following Jesus, enjoying unlimited sin, but also demanding salvation like a spoiled, self-entitled brat. Some Christians even deny this reality. But Jesus already addressed that:

    Matthew 7:21-23

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Believe it or not, there are even people who don't want to do good. They claim that it's 'bad' to do good works. One should ask, did Jesus say that? If not, does that idea come from God or satan?

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

I think people would slander Jesus today for doing good works, just like they did back then.

Here are more verses (too many to even paste here):

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

    Hebrews 6:4-6

James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."

James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

    Romans 11

    Matthew 12:31-32

    Romans 14:12

1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not 'party' or sit on sofa.

Pray to God to know the truth.

    Being The Church,

    Amen! (I like your name!)

I also believe John 14:6 is paramount to our salvation, but do you think we can disregard any other scripture from Jesus? Can we just pick and choose scripture that we like, or that suits our lifestyle? (Is it that Easy) How about the following scripture?

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Revelation 22:12-14

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

    Matthew 7:21-23

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So, are we to believe in John 14:6 and then be of no concern with Christ's gospel and other scripture that instructs us on how we must live our lives in order to enter into the Kingdom of God?

    God Bless.

    Hi Brother Glenn,

I agree, it's a disaster. Everyone wants to create their own interpretation of scripture, rather than read and accept the GOD'S WORD at face value. God made the main message simple for everyone to understand, yet many want to make it so complicated.

It really brings home this scripture:

    Matthew 7:14-15

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT! Jesus knew that few will preserver with HIS WORD!

    Next here you go:

15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Many church's/congregations today seem to be more concerned with growing the congregation, and increasing their income, than preaching the WORD.

    This scripture is so true:

    2 Timothy 4:3

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

Something said here by Jesus that is so simple and easy to understand, but many will still turn their backs on Jesus:

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Happy Sabbath Day, and God Bless.

    Brother Earl,

You and Brother ChrisE compare a disabled person to a thief, when there is no viable comparison.

A disabled person DID NOT choose to be disabled.

A thief DID CHOOSE to steal, breaking God's commandments. Crystal clear difference!

Christians have heard Jesus Christ's Gospel. We have a CHOICE - hear and followor IGNORE and not follow.

    2 Peter 2:21

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

True believers will listen to Jesus/God's WORD, and follow, if not, Jesus tells us how he will respond:

    Matthew 7:21-23

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So, Jesus will not accept EVERY MAN,(OR WOMAN) only those that doeth the will of God. This comes directly from Jesus, if you don't believe it, then your argument is with Jesus/God!

    God Bless.

Acts 16:33, in context Acts 16:27-34

Acts 16:15 in context Acts 16:14-15

    Acts 18:8

    1 Corinthians 3:3

    John 13:35

    Hebrews 10:25

    James 1:27

Please note the scriptures I've listed & pray about what I'm about to say. I once witnessed 2 children who asked to be baptized by the Lead Pastor, they were skipped over, another Pastor replaced the old one & once again those 2 children a boy & a girl asked to be baptized. That Pastor also asked them questions on the Bible, doctrine, taught them a special class, privately then decided not to Baptize them. In a short time other youths were baptized & they were skipped over again. I watched as those two children served in the church, many days & even during the celebration of the others getting baptized. Whom was more like Christ? Later those 2 children were baptized without classes & with people who barely knew them. Please pray for wisdom.

    Matthew 19:14

If you judge to strictly remember :

    Matthew 7:2 , Matthew 7:1-5

Yes, unfortunately, I believe it's possible that many (as in most) will be (are being) deceived because they simply turn their backs on God's Commandments and believe men's words over Jesus/God's own WORDS.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Those who ignore God's WORD in return for the promises of man, and a so-called easy way to heaven can't end well.

    Matthew 7:14

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

    God Bless.

    Matthew 7.23

Jesus knows those that follow him and obey his voice now and forever .

Unfortunately there are many that follow a different Jesus and they do not find out until Matthew 7.23

Don't be fooled by them or there claims , just do what Jesus of the bible says and do not make a show of it like Pharisees.

Replying to The User name "Jesus knows"

    Regarding Matthew 7

    Good scripture to ponder...

    John 3:16,17 this scripture reaches.

Jehovah is glad Psalms 83:18. In Harmony with

the well thought out scripture at Matthew 7

In the great day of judgement, who is the judge, and in what manner will you be judged?

    Here's a hint:

    Revelation 22:12-14

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Don't believe Jesus will judge you as he states above?

Then believe what Jesus states here in scripture:

    Matthew 7:14

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

    FEW WILL FIND IT!!!!!!!!

Stay focused on the true WORD!

    Matthew 7:15

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Man can, and will deceive. If a man's words don't agree with Jesus Christs words/scripture then it is False, discard it!

    Stay focused on the WORD.

    Luke 11:28

"But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."

    The WORD!

    God Bless.
