In Matthew 9;24 Jesus said a dead maid was asleep because the language of the Kingdom Calls those things that be not as though they were.He never focused on death because anything you focus on,you empower, anything you focus on grows on you.

v.13 watch and learn... that we should be like the LORD-"forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors..." too many times (and me too) that we want our enemies to fall in a hole, and seemingly that would be our sacrifice from that person.
That we should be "conformed to the image of Christ" and how can we do this? I answer, by the new commandment to " love one another "
Herein is the crux of the whole matter-"...o man, what is good: and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with GOD?

It's true many souls that need Christ but only few knew about salvation. I must take a responsibility to share God's love in every spur of a moment.

The Gentiles are not included for the forgiveness/redemption of sin in the blood shed of our Lord Jesus Christ. Gentiles’ forgiveness of sins is heartily believing the son of God named Jesus Christ. Verses to support Matthew 9:2 and Acts 10:43. Most Christians denominations teach that the blood shed of our Lord Jesus Christ is for the forgiveness of sins. They always preach this Gospel without verses in the bible to support their saying. Absolutely, forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ is only given to the Jews/Israel nation. Supporting verses, Psalm 130:7-8. Israel nation was redeemed and the fulfilment of Psalm 130:7-8 is in Hebrews 9:15.

Verse 29b depicts human mindset on impossibilities and further verses established the truth of the fact that all things are possible with GOD.

Right on brother, in the Old Testament you had to earn your salvation, in the New Testament you are saved by grace. That’s the difference between the New and Old convention and had a revelation on it last night. God bless all.
  • Jay on Matthew 9 - 11 years ago
Verses 16 and 17 are examples of old nature under the law and the new nature under grace by Jesus Christ. Also trying to place the new birth under grace inside an old container under the law. The new birth takes a different preparation than Old Testament salvation.

Old must not add with the New. If it happens worse will be happened.

Please take the scriptures at his word. See Matthew 9:5-6 and Luke 23:43 "today" simply means that, that is when the statement was made, that day. Paradise also includes the Garden of Eden, (earthly restoration of the kingdom) Jesus is a spirit being; (born out of the spirit, is “spirit". John 3:6 after a spiritual church is complete, the earth, and the "thief" will be resurrected to a physical condition; understand and repent and be nourished to a perfect physical condition! No limited "physical" church can accomplish this! It has been tried, see 1Corinthians15:50 "kingdom", equals the government.. Revelation 22:1; 22:17.

in this chapter i find that if you are obedient to the word that you have developed the faith in our Savior that allows him to move in your life in a way that he expects us to require of him.but not forgetting that as Christians we should apply everything we read to our lives and make it our worship to spread the benefits of walking in faith

In verse 20, the woman with the issue of blood. This is an issue not of contaminated blood. An issue of her having a menustral cycle for 12 years. She was considered unclean, therefore she was cast out of the village. She spent all her money to be healed & never was. She took a chance of being stoned to come into the multitude. To touch the hem of Jesus garment. Her faith was so strong Jesus felt her touch him. He turned & told her "Daughter, be of good comfort, thy faith hath made thee whole!" FAITH!!! People believe Christ he is the solution 4 any situation. THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!

i think matthew didnt write matthew. eg, 9 verse 9.And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him...if matthew wrote, and as jesus passed forth from thence,he saw me sitting at the receipt of custom and said to me follow and i arose and follow him.

I believe its a powerful statement and once you understand what it says you will have peace within. The is a srcipture in Genesis goes like "AM WHO I AM" God was telling Moses that he can be whatever the Isralites what HIM to be.So when i read both these statements it gives me so much hope and make me realise how much God loves me.I personally believe that whatever circumtances you face and difficulties, if you can only have faith(Touch his cloth) in God he will deliver(be made well) you. Let us continue to fight the good fight of faith.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest".What does this mean? we should pull all our efforts to preach the word of God by letting people know who God is and jesus in their lives. We are the labourers pipo! lets make our havests its the season(generation)

Tim, PRAISE THE LORD for that wonderful HOLY blood tranfusion!!!!!
  • Tim on Matthew 9 - 14 years ago
In vs20 where the woman with the contamin8ed blood touches Jesus's garment, it'd seem that she has covered with the pure blood of Jesus which made her whole by "doing away with her blood disorder." She received a blood transfusion by being covered in the pure blood of Jesus. Praise be 2 Him!

WE ALL HAVE BEEN AROUND CHRISTIANS WHO SHUN NON-BELIVERS. THIS IS WHAT THE PHARISEES DID WHEN JESUS SAT WITH THE PUBLICANS & SINNERS. YEARS AGO WE HAD A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY DIE OF CANCER. ANOTHER PERSON IN THE FAMILY SAID TO LET HIM DIE THAT OUR PATIENT WAS OF NO USE TO ANYONE BECAUSE HE WAS NOT SAVED. THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE WHO ACT LIKE THE PHARISEES DID. OUR DIEING FAMILY MEMBER GOT SAVED ON THIS DEATH BED. PRAISE GOD!!!! I'LL SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN SOME DAY.
REMEMBER V.29B "ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH BE IT UNTO YOU"
  • Erica on Matthew 9 - 14 years ago
It is always an awesome blessing to read of the wonderful works of our Lord and Savior...what caught my attention is when Jesus in his infinite goodness saw his people reaching out to receive salvation and made such a profound statement... "the harvest truly is plenteous but the laborers are few"...we need to be mindful that it's great to read and meditate on His works...but we must remember to do His works, remember that Faith without works is dead...the Lord needs laborers in his vineyard...lets start right now
  • Pam on Matthew 9 - 14 years ago
a through commentary on the chapter, with lots of varing ideas, but drawn together based on the harried activites of Christ presented in the chapter. Our Lord was busy. and we must pay attention and be also in our communion with him.
What sticks out for me is the gift of the sinners themselves, their illustration explains so much, particularly our part in being healed, and aspects of the process as well. This would be a good chapter and ommentary for those suffering addiction.
